Here you will be able to see the information of people like you who bought the products of The Machine Shop (Event Planner) in the area of Sault Sainte Marie (Canada).
Currently this firm has a rating of 4.5 stars over 5 and that rating has been based on 74 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is nearly the best one, and it is founded on a very large number of opinions, so we can think that the rating is quite reliable. If people have bothered to leave their review when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to place reviews when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Event Planner belongs to the category of Event venue.
Always a great time. Love the history of the building
Had a great time at the Christmas party!! Can't wait to go again next year
Excellent venue. Holistic Healthing a yearly event. I enjoyed the morning
Good acoustics, interesting venue, poor beverage selection.
I was at a private function...banqet. Very good food. Good location. Long walk from parking.
Over priced venue if that is what you are looking for. Many other places in the Sault offer the same services for cheaper. Do not recommended unless you need an old building that has that"cool" rustic look.
We were guests to a wedding here and the venue was fantastic. I've certainly attended many weddings in my short years and this place was the venue of a lifetime! The staff was excellent and the place has been redone to look AMAZING! We also visited the restaurant the next day - the pizza was horrible so I've had to remove one star for that. Its also a pizza specialty restaurant! As a venue, this place is top notch for Sault Ste. Marie!
I love what they did to make this place perfect for weddings and celebrations. I will definitely recommend this place to others in the future.
Loved it
What a great place for food. But this is where i had my dream stag n doe. Great prices and amazing people to work with. I did Alice in Wonderland themed and I created all my own centerpieces. Its for sure a place one can dream and have fun.
It's average, and extremely expensive. The whole place edges on the side of being fancy for the rich people, and being rustic for the more middle class to lower class folk- and the bill is in that range as well. It's not 'too' absurd and is readily 'affordable' as a fancy dinner party you can have once every few months... But what are you really getting out of the Machine Shop? About the same quality food you can get cheaper anywhere else, with the added option of getting some admittedly good alcoholic beverages that will burn an even larger hole in your wallet. The chicken I've had here has been some of the worst, the fries weren't that good either. But everything else has been average- like their appetizers are usually rather good. Of course, I have to mention the pizza here as is the sole purpose of my posts is to talk about pizza. Its... Well, I don't mean to say it's bad because it isn't- its just bland. 'Its pizza' you say to yourself, 'it doesn't need to wow you'. But you realize this is one of the fancier well known restaurants in town and you realize this also costs more than the average- and it turns the whole experience off. Don't bother unless you're there to drink.
I rather enjoyed The Machine Shop. I love that it hasn't lost it's industrial look. It's much more in keeping with the rest of the building. I would love to visit again if only to learn more about the history of the building!
Utter disappointment. Location is great and sitting outside perfect. Drinks were also well prepared and service decent but that is where it ends. Food left a lot to be desired. Pizza was actually awful and the beet salad for $15 was a waste of money too. I actually didn’t want to pay for the food - it was that bad. If people in this town like mediocrity, then perhaps that is why some of the reviews were positive. I would be the first to say great things about the meal had it been delicious and well prepared. It wasn’t either of these two things.
Great venues.
It is well lit and clean.
Fantastic venue
Great outdoor pad
Great place to see entertainment
Super Appreciated!
I would love host an event in this venue. Very beautiful, rustic yet updated.
I was here to see some musical acts and the sound quality was not great.
Really beautiful venue, rating would be higher however the food wasn't as good as I was expecting. I was there for a wedding, good service.
The machine shop is a wonderful place. I have been to a few concerts inside and outside. The historical look is really neat especially if you are a tourist from another part of the world. The ticket prices are not too bad my girlfriend and I saw Tech Nine recently for $80. To see a big name like that for such a low price was amazing. They really like to keep things all ages and overall the vibe from the place is really good. I have yet to try their food but that is on my list for sure!
Great venue for concerts with great acoustics.
Lots always happening there great place
Great food and great service! Love the outdoor patio!!
What an amazing building! Would be perfect for any venue
I didn't visit this place but I am guessing the couple who stole my prepaid Visa have!!!
Wow!!!! What a place!! Beautiful place for a wedding..
Was at a stag and doe. Very nice venue. Decent food that the staff kept replenishing. Plenty of parking.
Great location for lunch and dinner.
Remarkable music venue
Love what they done to the he old St Mary's papermill property
Love it
Great food and location. Very good and friendly service. A little slow sometimes when they are busy. Really recommend the Montreal smoked meat sandwich for lunch or the Ruben. Also do an excellent prim rib dinner on the weekend. Prices are fairly reasonable and portions are quite generous.
Lovely meal and great wait staff. Well done.
Kids enjoyed the trains even tho they weren't open. Looked in the windows and saw the lights and bud car and they knew it's name
Historic & beautiful venue, what a great feature for our city!
The food was great. We all (5) enjoyed our meal. The service was exemplary. Will go back for sure.
Good food good environment. Great fun events.
Amazing place with alot of history love it
Beautiful wedding venue
Had some excellent gelato. Gorgeous building inside and out!
Excellent
What a fantastic venue!!!! We just recently had our wedding at The Machine Shop and we couldn’t imagine having found a better venue for this special day! This venue is one of a kind and the staff was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!! In the months leading up to this, Josie was always so organized and helpful while we were planning the event. John and Alex were the people in charge on site that day and they literally were so accommodating and cared about this special day by ensuring we had absolutely everything we needed. Everyone at the Machine Shop on that day worked so hard and were so flexible we couldn’t of had a better day!!! We can’t count the amount of times people came to see us to tell us how beautiful it was, how amazing the food was and how overall it was one of the best weddings they have ever been to! So thank you to the Machine Shop for making it everything we’ve ever dreamed of!
Great atmosphere
WARNING: do NOT host your wedding or special event at The Machine Shop. My sister hosted her wedding there last weekend. In short, it was like the bartenders and managers were getting a commission from giving away as little alcohol as possible on an open bar. I was hoping to have my wedding here in the future but will definitely never be returning, and will never give them my recommendation. Please spread the word about their business practices. Context: my sister and her now husband paid for an open bar. The venue is amazing, really beautiful. It was a delicious meal. But the way the bartender and managers treated us was absolutely horrendous. They made myself, and all of our guests, feel like complete criminals. Things started to go awry at around 9:30-10pm, pretty early on in the night. Dinner had just ended and the dance floor was dwindling. Everyone was very sober and it was quite obvious. We needed to get the party going. For some reason, the older female bartender would not let guests do two shots in a row. A completely arbitrary rule she made up on her own. She wouldn't even let my mother, THE MOTHER OF THE BRIDE, who NEVER DRINKS, do two shots in a row. She was stone cold sober and had maybe 1 drink with dinner. When you did ask for a shot, you felt completely judged. Aren't bartenders supposed to be fun, mingle with guests, and help with the party atmosphere? When I went up to inquire, she told me she "didn't like giving girls shots, but had no problem giving us drinks". What? This is completely sexist and inappropriate. If we are behaving badly or being unsafe then fine. But it was 10pm. No one was out of control. I am a 30 year old physician, the maid of honour, trying to celebrate my sister's wedding. Not an alcoholic criminal. Unfortunately this was just the beginning. Maybe about an hour or so later, I had guests coming up to me telling me that the bartender wouldn't let them do shots of hard liquor, but would let them have hard liquor in mixed drinks. What? So this meant I had to leave my sister's wedding, walk over to The Boiler Room, and speak with the mangers. There were three managers standing around me, acting completely dismissive and disrespectful. They told me that there was "high consumption", and that they were responsible for everyone's safety and drinking and driving. 1) we had shuttles leaving all night long taking everyone home, wherever they wanted to go, so drinking and driving was not a real issue and 2) "high consumption" - what does this mean? NO ONE was intoxicated beyond safety. I am born and raised Sault Ste Marie, I know what weddings here are like, this was NOTHING, there was no one on the dance floor. They did find one male guest to pick on all night and chased him around the venue threatening to kick him out. He was intoxicated but respectful and not causing any problems. This isn't a night club this is a wedding, have some class and treat your guests with respect. It was to the point they were following him around, even followed him outside. It was embarrassing, they were on complete power trips. Also "high consumption" - of the roughly 125 guests, about twenty were children, NOT DRINKING. There were at least another 50 who were elderly and NOT DRINKING. Also, IT WAS AN OPEN BAR. THERE IS NO LIMIT. IS THAT NOT THE POINT OF AN OPEN BAR? When I told them that they argued with me that it isn't actually an "open bar", that there is "a limit". What limit I asked? They couldn't tell me. After finally getting THE FATHER OF THE BRIDE involved, the managers "opened the bar back up to shots". It took me getting an older male involved to make any head way with these sexist people. One of the managers at one point came up to me and apologized and gave me a glass of champagne. Great, thanks. That makes up for missing nearly half an hour of my sister's wedding. From that point forward, any hard liquor shot I ordered was half full. These people weren't monitoring alcohol consumption for our safety, they were doing it to fill their own pockets. BEWARE.
Great food. Always leave stuffed.
What a terrific venue! We had our son's wedding ceremony and reception at the Machine Shop and can't say enough about this wonderful location. Our out of town guests were blown away by the unique setting. The upstairs was perfect for the wedding ceremony with 200 guests to take part. The reception area was perfect for our wonderful dinner and night of dancing. The bridal party had separate waiting rooms prior to the ceremony and everyone was comfortable. Absolutely perfect. Shout out to John (Manager)and Josie for the excellent attention to each and every detail. Do not hesitate to host your celebration at the Machine Shop.
Great place for a wedding, very industrial feel
Amazing venue but chilly in the winter
