UPDATE (3 STARS IN 2021): Since Canadian Tire Corp. took over Party City in 2020, the balloon quality is atrocious! I spent $30 on my last balloon bouquet in Nov 2020 and the balloons were starting to deflate within hours. We contacted the store and were told that they don't guarantee they will last longer than 24 hrs! At those prices it should last longer than a day or half a day! After 12 hrs, our main foil balloon was halfway to the floor and the latex balloons were slowly deflating, shrinking and drooping. The store kindly gave us a replacement bouquet the following week but we were stuck with the defective ones for our party which was incredibly disappointing. Then the replacement bouquet deflated even faster than the first one! Party City balloon bouquets used to last weeks and months in years past which is why we always get our balloons there for parties. Canadian Tire is obviously using a cheaper, more inferior helium than when the store was owned by the American Party City chain. For a recent birthday party in Jan 2021 we got our balloon bouquet at the dollar store and it looked amazing and the balloons stayed full and tall for weeks. The best part was that they only cost $8! I'll never get helium filled balloons at Party City again! The quality is so poor now that it's essentially throwing your money away by buying their balloon bouquets. I'm expecting the price of everything else in the store to go up as well and the quality to go down now that the store has changed owners which is disappointing since it was such a great store before. ORIGINAL REVIEW (5 STARS IN 2020): Super nice, helpful staff! All 3 staff members we dealt with were excellent and even helped us save money which was a nice bonus. Great customer service and pretty good prices. Need more elegant options for baby shower decor and balloons though. Most of it is on the cheesy and tacky side. There are nice elegant wedding options but not for baby showers which is disappointing. But it's so nice to be able to get everything all in one place, including balloon bouquets

Great selection of popular Disney and Nickelodeon kids character items. Not much in the way of Canadian cartoons (no "Justin Time" options, for example) hence the 4-star review. Anything disposable and party-related, and you'll find it here. Every item can be purchased in any colour, including plates, napkins, cups, cutlery, gift bags, table clothes, etc. Lots of variety of helium balloons in both regular stretchy and metallic.

A lot of the stuff sold here could be procured at a decent dollar store, bulk barn, Walmart and the online costume websites for considerably less cost. The only thing this place has on those other stores is that all your party needs are under one roof and you can get everything done at once.

I would never recommend buying any balloons from here as I purchased some for daughters birthday and when the order was placed online (due to covid) NOT ONCE were we told that they only guarantee them for 12hrs. After we placed the order we received a phone call from the store and we explained to the person on the phone that we needed the balloons for Jan 2 and again it was NEVER explained to us that they only have a 12 hr guarantee. It was never suggested that we hold off to get the balloons till the day of. 3/4 of our balloons are deflated and look horrible and on top of that we had to pay an extra $14 for inflation fee. To top it all off the Manager I spoke with on the phone had horrible customer service kept cutting me and kept passing the blame onto me for not knowing there policies or guarantees. Pretty had to know anything when it not explained to you!!!! Never again will my shadow darken the door let alone be giving them anymore of my money.

In future I will not try to buy local. In addition there was another customer who wanted some items, "There here in the store the clerk says, I saw them. But they have not been received yet. So you will have to come back in a few days." Really!??@ not likely. It used to be a clerk would go out of there way to help and keep a customer. Stores wonder why they are losing business. Buyer Beware. We purchased a tank of helium and a bunch of balloons. When we went through the checkout I thought the total was high. We noticed extra charges on the bill. Turns out they charge to fill the balloons even if you don't get them filled. What's worse is they don't include the price to fill the balloons on the product tags. So they advertised one price, changed us a higher price for services we weren't getting, and the cashier didn't even mention it. The cashier just charged us for filling the balloons AND the tank if helium and never said a word. What a scam.

Very very Disappointed in the Balloons purchased from Party City, Peterborough. Purchased Friendly Farms character latex balloons along with 6 matching latex coloured balloons, on a Friday morning (Jun 11/21) for a birthday party the next day. By the Saturday morning, the character balloons no longer floated and only two out of the 6 latex balloons floated. My daughter paid $50 for these 12 balloons for her son’s First Birthday and only 2 out of 12 were airborne. Never purchasing from there again!

Wouldn't venture out from behind the cash and I ended up going up and down the aisles countless times to find what I was looking for ( that he told me didn't exist).Then got home to find out I had been overcharged by approx thirty dollars. .I live 40 minutes away..I'm not about to spend money in gas to retrieve $30 just to put it back in my tank. ..I am really disappointed this trip. Aweful experience. The person on the phone had a hard time taking down my order but eventually got it right. I pick up the balloons and get them out at the event and the biggest one WAS NOT TIED TO THE RIBBON. It got out of the bag and immediately floated away. Not impressed.
