I placed and order for a bouquet of flowers to be delivered to my girl friends office to celebrate our first Valentine’s Day together. I Requested the flowers be delivered on Thursday as she would not be in the office on the Friday of Valentine’s Day to receive them . When I spoke to her on Thursday night to my surprise she had not received the delivery. Extremely disappointed I called the store on Friday morning. They admitted that the order card did state delivery was scheduled for Thursday. They did however make the delivery on Friday. Consequently my girl friend who wasn’t working which is why I requested the delivery for Thursday had to make a special trip to work on her day off and her co workers got to receive the surprise and the flowers and not my girl friend as my original intention. I am very disappointed and feel they deprived us of a special moment to remember on our very first Valentine’s Day together

My husband isn't one to believe in reviews because he hates affecting businesses based on his bias or prejudices. However, he also believes in giving credit where credit is due and paying forward good will so he's asked me to submit this review on his behalf. He was shopping around to find a business that would help us problem solve a dilemma we had. We were participating in the local Santa for Seniors gift program and one of the seniors we picked asked for a potted plant. When we contacted Santa for seniors they told us that they couldn't do plants because of the delay in getting the gifts to the senior's, so he decided to still make it work as this was on their Christmas wish list! Although all the flower shops he contacted were very polite, they were unable to assist us due to the unique nature and the ambiguous identity of the senior. When we contacted East City flower shop, after discussing our budget and the situation the lady on the phone said that she could definitely help us out. When my husband arrived at the flower shop, he was greeted by friendly and welcoming staff and a beautiful aroma of fresh cut flowers. After explaining who he was, he was then approached by the owner who personally helped him out with the situation. When he went to the till to pay, they refused to take payment stating that this was a good cause and they wanted to help out! My husband refused to leave without paying but the owner reinforced that due to the pandemic it's been a hard year for everyone and they wanted to help out a little. Thank you East City flower shop for your kindness and we wish you all the success for your business. We will definitely be back!

It's coming up on one year this August that I got married and still I cannot get over this. Every time I look at pictures or watch my Wedding video, I'm reminded. During the planning of my wedding I spoke to Janet MANY times to ensure what I was ordering was EXACTLY what I wanted for my wedding. I was assured and most times (brushed off in a way) that I don't need to "stress" and all would be great! Phhhf, boy oh boy what a mistake I made! All of my flowers from my bouquet to my centre pieces, to the men including the groom didn't receive their boutonnières. Furthermore; Janet filled my cillendar bases with dirty lake water, dropped the box holding my order with bouquets on the ground and was leaving until a family member called her out in it and asked her to use clean water from in the lake house. I can't even begin to tell you how beyond disappointed and upsetting it is on your WEDDING DAY to get the complete opposite of what you've been planning for a year. Not only did I spend a fortune on my orders, I spent countless hours emailing and calling Janet. Sending her pictures to ensure she we were on the same page and it was all for nothing. When I called Janet the following Monday after the wedding to tell her how upset and disappointed I was she then replied, " what do you want me to do about it?!" I was floored and lost for words. I just cried and hung up. To put it as politely as possible, she sucks! I'd think not only twice, but three and four times. A wedding is a BIG event and she screwed up majorly!!!!

I have NEVER been disappointed and quite to the contrary have never been anything but THRILLED by her creative/considerate and thoughtful arrangements .She has supplied my floral needs for everything from funerals/weddings/Mothers' Day/Easter and Valentines Day .She can and has accommodated every budget I have provided to her .

I ordered an arrangement to be sent to a friend in Quebec for her 85th birthday....it was gorgeous....she sent me pictures of it, and it was much nicer than expected, and apparently the delivery guy was real a real 'hunk' too! LOL

I purchased a $60 bouquet for my mother's birthday and what she received while nice, was something that could have been bought at a grocery store. The bouquet was supposed to have roses, chrysanthemums and mini carnations, it had NONE of those flowers and instead was comprised of considerably cheaper flowers of a completely different colour palette then what I ordered. I am extremely disappointed and would suggest avoiding East City Flower Shop if at all possible.

Today is Valentine's Day 2013. I ordered flowers, 12 Red Roses on Tuesday for Wednesday (the 13th) delivery as I figured they would be extremely busy. They said not to worry they would deliver early Thursday (Valentine's Day). Well sometime after 1:00 PM 3 pink roses were delivered. I called to let them know it was not correct. They apologized and said they would correct this. They then send over 3 white roses! Really $124.00 for 3 roses... what a scam... Called back and was told that is what I ordered so, guess what roses from East City only cost $41.33 each! Totally runined the day. Thanks Janet!

I ordered a basket to be sent to my mom for Mother's Day. I paid for the $59.99 Designed Basket arrangement "better", with a $9.99 delivery fee. The website asks for the address and calculates delivery based on that. I later come to find on my credit card statement that they charged me my total $79.99 (which was the price on the receipt I was sent) and then there was an additional seperate $9.99 charge after that. When I called to ask why, they said it's because my address is out of town and delivery is more expensive. I can understand that, but what I don't understand, is that this charge was made without my consent. They blamed COVID for being so unprepared, but I'm sure the amount of time it took to decide to charge my credit card $10 was no less than it would have taken to call me and ask if that's alright. To be fair I likely would have said no, I'll have someone pick it up. They didn't make it right when I called to express my concerns. Last but not least, the flowers were a combination of Cornations, Roses and Daisies. Those types of flowers don't make a $60 arrangement. The last time I spent $60 for an arrangement from an other local florist, the arrangement was stunning. Just really disappointed in this whole process. I wonder how many other customers got ripped off by this additional $10 charge and didn't notice?

Would not even leave 1 star if there was another option. Ordered a floral basket for a bereavement. First off, it was delivered 3 days after it was supposed to be.The recipient sent a picture when they arrived and while the flowers were pretty, they were simply a bunch of fresh cut flowers, not even the same type as ordered let alone the basket arrangement that I had picked out. Since I felt the value was not the same, I phoned and was told that the woman who answered the phone had done the arrangement herself and it was clear she did not believe me. She said she would send the proper arrangement though and phoned the recipient to make arrangements to do so. She also made it clear from her tone to the recipient that she didn't believe they were in the wrong. She made arrangements to deliver new flowers and was very much later than promised. When she arrived she asked to see what had been sent and then took all the flowers and the vase back from the recipient and was not at all pleasant during the interaction. Absolutely awful customer service, especially when the recipient is in grieving. Do yourself a favour and buy elsewhere!

Flowers that were delivered looked nothing like what we ordered. We ordered a bouquet called "shades of purple" as it is my mothers favorite colour. There wasn't a single purple flower in the bunch. We ordered the "premium" bouquet and the one delivered was quite skimpy. Very expensive for what they put together. They said we would receive a confirmation email, we did not. Had to call and the lady abruptly told me she sent an email...must have sent it via Canada post rather than email cause I still don't have it. Very disappointing experience we will never order from there again.

Very disappointed with my flowers from East City Flower Shop for my wedding. I had talked to Janet many times in regards to my bouquets. I brought her in a picture of exactly what I wanted. Due to not being able to get the flower I wanted , she would order silk. That was fine, but I wanted to see what it would look like. It had been weeks before I could see her due to the flowers not coming in, I asked if they would be in by my wedding if we went this route, she assured me they would. I finally got to see one sample of the flower. It looked right so I ordered my flowers. Up until the day before my wedding, the flowers had not come in (I wanted to see the bouquet before my wedding day). I had to pick the flowers up the morning of my wedding. They were suppose to be white and red and they were a yellowish/beige and red. What could I do....it was my wedding day. I was so upset. Additionally, my mother and mother in law were suppose to have a corsage that pinned to their dress and they ended up being wrist corsages. I will NEVER recommend or use East City Flower Shoo again!

I have never been so disappointed with flowers! My husband picked a beautiful arrangement off their website and when it arrived it looked nothing at all like the picture online. I had an uncomfortable conversation with who I believe is the owner when she did not even apologize but did offer the fix it if I brought the original one back. In mine and my husbands eyes the damage had already been done...he had wanted a big beautiful arrangement to be delivered to my work and it had not, but being in customer service myself I gave them the chance to make it right. Well the replacement was worst then the first and the service was poor so I took my arrangement and left after telling her it was no better. She said nothing, just let me leave. I decided to go back into the store to explain the problem, in the end I left with no flowers. The only nice thing I can say about this place is they did give me a full refund. The service was poor, the flowers were sparse and the store was dirty!

My husband ordered flowers for me through the website FTD for our one year anniversary. He paid $70.00. East city flower shop ended up being the florist who made and delivered the arrangement. The first arrangement I received looked nothing like what my husband had ordered (as he was here when I received them). None of the flowers were used that were displayed in the picture, it came in a Tin bucket instead of a glass vase and it did not look like it cost the amount he paid. He phoned FTD to show his displeasure who then in turned phoned ECFS to correct the problem. ECFS then phoned me to explain they had had a refrigerator problem so they lost a number of flowers and thus could not make the paid for arrangement. To fix the problem they said they will come the next day (the day after our anniversary) and replace it with the correct arrangement. The next day the delivery man brought my replacement and asked for the original arrangement back. I must say the replacement was worse then the first arrangement. It was half the size of it (no taller then a coffee travel mug) and it had fewer flowers in it. The only positive was it sort of resembled the image of the arrangement he ordered. When I spoke to the florist at ECFS she informed me that for the amount that they are paid by the website this is the appropriate arrangement. We have used FTD before and never had a problem but it was always Pammett"s and McKnights that ended up delivering the flowers.

When I placed my order Janet said they had everything including the vase. I received a photo of the arrangement it wasn’t the same vase. It was suppose to be a rustic wooden box as in the photo. This is why I had ordered that arrangement. I thought the arrangement was beautiful but the vase spoiled it. Disappointed

So I purchased the best quality gourmet basket for over $90 as a get well gift for a friend and it came on a cheap dollar store silver platter...2 pears, an apple, 2 mandarins, 2 bananas, 2 granola bars, crackers, balsamic vinegar and some chocolates and cookies and a bottle of mineral water. Nothing like the picture and for that amount of money I could have gone out myself and made a much nicer actual basket! Except I couldn't because I was working.....I will never waste my money here again!
