Owner Mike was awesome! But the employee who was setting up the rental for my wedding was very rude and very unprofessional. There was little communication. We emailed multiple times (they were unreachable by phone) Set up time went from 2pm to 4:30pm then we got an email around 5:20pm stating they were still coming but no time was provided. We waited at the site until 630pm with our family and wedding party for a rehearsal but had to leave as we had other priorities. Our venue even emailed them to ask if/when they were coming to set up the tent. It was around 730 when they finally showed up and my fiance(now wife)had to leave her Bachelorette party to make sure it was set up in the right spot. There was no weather issues as it hadn't rained in our area all day(one of the excuses) and the employee had the audacity to ask if we "wanted the tent rental or not" after showing up 5 hours late! Owner Mike(awesome!) had to come in the morning of our wedding to set up the walls because the employees left the job incomplete.

Google doesn’t let you post 0-star reviews. This place is awful. Unprofessional. Unhelpful. The owner - who I should point out was the real problem here; his staff all seemed like very nice men, but unfortunately I didn’t get to deal with them - asked for a beer midway through setting up the tent. They didn’t even finish setting up the first day - you would assume it was because they were in a hurry to get to another job, but they had time to stay for the BBQ and beers my family was having that evening. They left and said they would be back in the morning (it was well into the afternoon when they got there). He promised he would be able to get me any supplies I needed, either from his inventory or through a contact at another rental company, but after he brought me the wrong sized tables he had a different story. The tent he recommended was way too small for the number of guests we had - family friends had to bring over their own tents/gazebos to make sure everyone would be covered. Finally, my credit card kept getting declined - my bank said it was due to it being an “uncharacteristic purchase” when I called about it later - and instead of dealing with it with any tact, the owner made quick work of announcing this fact to my family the day he came to take the tent down. He put my in-laws on the spot, so they ended up paying the difference. He didn’t bother getting their names - all I was told was some “older woman” had taken care of it. I don’t know why this company is the first one to pop up when you look for tent rentals in the Orillia area, but do yourself a favour and move on to the next one.

Had over 100 balloons made up by Special Occasion Tent Rentals for a large event in Orillia - 'Hailey' did an excellent job making and organizing the balloon bouquets and other balloons. Easy to deal with (through email, phone and in person), very reasonably priced, and delivered the balloons on time! Very happy with my experience (product and service) with Special Occasion Tent Rentals, will definitely be using them again in the future.
