I attended an event at the conferance centre and it was great. The room we were in was very average but well decorated. The rest of the conferance centre is beautiful with nice clean bathrooms. There is a parkaide and the parking rates are cheap.

The VICC is an excellent conference and meeting venue. Location is central to harbour/city amenities/ferries, with parking on multiple underground levels. Food service staff are also very professional. Overall, at least as good as anything I've experienced in other major cities in Canada and the USA. Large enough to handle multiple-day events, with up-to-date technology and audio-visual systems. Surrounding neighbourhood is historic and convenient with museum, several excellent restaurants, and art galleries/shops. Only downside is a disproportionate lack of accommodation in the area. The hotels here are great, but there are not quite enough of them to house all the people that might attend a major conference at the VICC. This problem will definitely be exaggerated if/when a major sports arena is constructed in the area.

We've used this space a lot for work events, and it's always met our needs. The admin staff who answer the phone are so helpful and patient! It's just too bad the whole building feels a bit underutilized for its prominent location. Would love to see more community stuff for the public going on here.

I was there at around 8:45am and the conference i was attending started at 9am, it was very difficult to find a door that was unlocked so that i could actially enter the building for some reason. Other than that, the conference center is lovely. There is carpeting that works because everything is kept very clean, lovely washrooms, a gift shop full of beautiful coast salish work, and the loveliest map of Nanaimo downtown that i have ever seen in my life is on one of the walls in a seating area upstairs.

The people of Nanaimo seem to know where it located finally but not all. Better signage still needed to find your way. Still most expensive place to have an event on Vancouver Island.

The company I work for has been booking here for years and my job is to setup and dismantle program rooms. Parkade gives me easy-rain free access and I know the security (Derek) and staff by first name. They are all very friendly and helpful. During Covid they did an amazing job keeping us safe and social distanced. I actually took picture to show my boss.

I was very surprised about how difficult it was to find where we where going. There are no directions to tell you that there are 2 separate buildings with multiple entrances. It took longer than I had thought and a walk nearly around the whole block before finding the way in. Terrible layout
