Bought some leather couches, we were told they were very durable. I have had leather before and own cats. my old couches were 20 some years old and held up very nicely. These new couches scratch with little effort. when you pay $5000.00 for quality you would expect to get it. I called to see if they could be exchanged for fabric knowing full well I would take a money loss, before any damage was done but they choose not to return my calls. Never again will I buy from there or recommend it to anyone. It is to bad, I was going to buy a $10,000 bed there. I will be shopping else where . I wouldn't have given this post any stars but you can't post unless there is one

After ordering our couch and love seat on Feb 8, 2015, we were told the estimated date would be March 1, 2015. We called to check to see if it had arrived, and whether or not we could pick it up soon. The lady on the phone informed us that only the couch had arrived and was still in Calgary. She explained that the love seat was to arrive on March 3, 2015 and that it might take up to two weeks to have it shipped down to Medicine Hat. Even after explaining to her that it would have been nice to know that it might have taken a while longer to have it shipped down, she wouldn't even acknowledge that I'd said anything. In addition to this, when my partner and I were shopping, he had quoted us $1050, all taxes included, for both items. Then, when we went to put money down on it, the price had magically jumped to $1200. When we asked why the price had jumped up so much, he explained "it was for the couch and chair". Which we had never even discussed. He then knocked the price down to $1110.00 and behaved as if he was doing us a huge favour. If you are going to buy any furniture, do not go to Ashley Furniture in Medicine Hat!! You will be treated like they're doing you a huge favour. Do not waste your time!

if i could give a -5 stars I would. I will NEVER order from them again. not only did they forget my Mattress when they delivered my box spring, they booked another time for me, I took time off work then never showed up! called me an hour after my appointment saying they worked passed their hours. now I have to wait another week because instead of parking the truck at medicine hat Ashley's they drive 3 hours back to Calgary. it is not my problem they could not do their job in the 14 hour time line. so as a good costumer service by mattress should be delivered first thing the next day, not re scheduled for 5 days from now. this is not the first order that has been screed up from them and I am done with it

I will NEVER buy from Ashley Furniture again! EVER. Worst salespeople, worst management, worst customer service, worst delivery timelines. Save your time and go anywhere else! We decided to buy a couch from the store and we really liked the fact that it would be ready for pick up in only 3 weeks. When the salesperson brought us our papers to show the cost and everything, he mentioned that since this couch is so popular it will actually be 6-8 weeks until it will arrive in store. By that point we had already decided this was the couch for us so we thought it was fine to wait a little longer. Well 8 weeks came and we hadn't heard anything from the store so I called to inquire about when our couch would be in, at which time they said it would actually be about 10 weeks! We didn't have a couch in our new home for 10 weeks, so I went into the store to ask if there was anything they could do as we really needed it now. The sales person offered very little help so I said I wanted to cancel my order since I just did not want to give Ashley Furniture my business, at which time he said that there would be a $100 cancellation fee! After an hour and a half in the store, the most they could do for me was give me free delivery. My next mistake was finally caving and buying the matching loveseat a month later. They told me it would be 6 weeks to come in (and that was being on the safe side). Well nobody phoned me when it had arrived in Calgary as they said they would, so I phoned to ensure it would be in Medicine Hat for pick up by that Friday as I had company coming on the weekend. They said it would be in Medicine Hat on Friday, so I called on Friday and it had apparently missed the truck that day and wouldn't be in until the following day (after my company was leaving). Long story short, it's not worth the hassle, they are terrible at customer service, and they do absolutely nothing to try to make you want to continue buying from there! It was the most frustrating place to buy from!

Bought very expensive love seat and matching chair. Got delivered and noticed the stitching was all frayed on the loveseat. Called and complained then took 1 month to get a technician to look at it then waited 2 weeks to get it repaired and now looks terrible cause the stitching and the foam on the seat is not matching the other side of the loveseat. It looks very unsymmetrical like to different pieces of furniture.

We purchased one of the most expensive fabric sofas they had on display in their store. The sales person was literally jumping on it, stroking his key on the fabric, telling us how durable everything was and how we'd get 8-10 years out of it easily. Today they are supposed to pick up this same sofa (only 4-5 months old) and provide us a full refund for this already flattened and mis-shapen sofa after a month of fighting back and forth. One of the decorative cushions also split apart at the seems just by laying on it and that was the last straw for us. Before purchasing this sofa, Ashley bragged about their extended warranty, they bragged about their delivery guys as being the best. Far from it. At the first sign of trouble we simply wanted to get our sofa looked at. ONE MONTH is what the wait was to get a technician to our home just to look at it. They said, "we don't have Techs in Medicine Hat often". That was completely unacceptable to us. Then their customer service office suggested we just pick out a different sofa instead. Even though we told them there was not much that interested us. Regardless, we did that. Then instead of giving us a refund on the difference, they provided us with an in-store credit, which we'd never use. It was at this point they became more interested in just refunding our money and dumping us as customers than fixing the issues. We were assured the manufacturer would be contacted to find out WHY the sofa was deteriorating so fast. That never happened. We've had Ashley Customer Service tell us to deal with the store directly because all their stores are "individually owned and operated". I walked into this Ashley with detailed pictures and the most they could do was look at our file # which we already opened through their Winnipeg Office. Even the same day that Ashley agreed to fully refund our money and pick up the sofa, our local store in Medicine Hat had NO IDEA this was happening. The manager just said, "okay" and was more than happy to end the conversation. As the manager he didn't offer any apologies for the brutal experience, nothing. So to sum up, you have to wait 30 days for your sofa, we did at least. Then if there's a problem you have to wait ANOTHER 30 days for a technician. But if Ashley gets tired of you as a customer, they can pick up your sofa with 2 days notice. It's strange how that works! If Ashley had just sent a tech out here in a timely fashion, perhaps we just received faulty cores and they could've been replaced. I can't believe everything we've been through and I wouldn't recommend Ashley to anybody after this. If nothing else, the communication is horrible. The local store has no idea what the Winnipeg office is doing. Even at this very moment, we have a refund request number, in writing, from Customer Service and they're telling us, "we have no idea why your local store can't open up your file and see this refund owing". The total lack of communication is just mind boggling and it's no wonder they have 3 Google Reviews and they are all 1/5 each. Where has customer service gone these days?

Greetings! As nice as the furniture displays are, the customer service is undoubtedly the worst I have ever experienced. The guessing game as to when an item is ordered to when it arrives is unnerving. The fact that the customer requires to 'check-in' as to when the item is to arrive is frustrating. Ashley Furniture has not even 'checked-in' with me to explain the circumstances. Oh wait, your employee forgot to order it.....after the fact of us returning twice and the first time actually being rude to us.The fact that Ashley Furniture, Medicine Hat, Alberta, is located in the centre of rural areas is, in itself, selfish of knowing customers do, in fact, live outside the city limits. This meaning, the policy, of Ashley Furniture, and it's 'pick up within 48 hours of arrival' does NOT clearly meet the needs of customers who live in the rural areas of Alberta and Saskatchewan. But, how would I know....it's only been 8 weeks since I have been waiting for my purchase (that I have already paid for). Wow.....would Ashley be so accommodating in awaiting payment from customers for that long???? I could go on.....

After moving to Medicine Hat from Saskatchewan , we knew we needed some new furniture but weren’t sure where to shop. We decided to pop in and just have a quick look. The sales person (JK) was very helpful, and we found the perfect sectional sofa at a great value. We also purchased a box spring , that was the main reason for going in. We are looking forward to our next shopping mission for a new dining room set. Exciting day!!

I recently bought furniture from this store and it has been a horrible experience. First off, we were delivered the wrong furniture which then took an extended period of time do you have the right furniture delivered, with the delivery itself being a nightmare. We were told to be available from 430-730 for delivery, only to be told at 750 that the furniture was not coming. And then took it additional two days for the furniture to be delivered, with that delivery not being completed and it’s entirety as we were not given a complete exchange of our furniture. After a month of dealing with this we have still not been able to resolve getting the furniture we ordered. Although I do find the staff have been helpful at the store there’s been limited options given to us to resolve this matter. I I would not recommend this store to purchase any furniture from given the experience I have had.

Update: I made a review way to quickly for over the past six months I have been fighting with Ashley Furniture to fix my very expensive sectional couch, the customer service is ridiculous and the techs are even worst. One tech urinated all over my bathroom and couldn’t even flush the toilet. The material on the cushions can’t be sat on or it will start to fall apart. Absolute garbage. I hope no one else has to go through what I’ve had to. Found a great sectional for an amazing price. Thank you Dennis and and the Ashley team for helping me. Can’t wait for it to be delivered.

I had gone into Ashley Furniture to look at a children's bedroom set I had seen online. I met with a female salesperson who provided me with measurements & price quotes to take home. My husband and I took measurements of our son's room and had decided exactly which pieces of furniture we wanted to order. I decided to go back in to Ashley furniture on my way home from work to place an order. Seems like a simple process, right?? WRONG! I was approached by a young, friendly gentleman who offered to help me. I told him I knew exactly which pieces of furniture I needed to order. He sat down with me to write down my order. This then turned into an hour long experience of him going back and forth to his manager, researching my items on the computer, stating that he was confused about my order & needed to double check things. He tried to sell me on the furniture warranty multiple times despite me saying that my husband builds furniture and can do the repairs on the bedroom set. Then he tells me that one piece of my furniture has been discontinued. Perfect. Why was I sent home with information about a piece of furniture that isn't even available? I was sent back to wait AGAIN (might I add that I am 37 weeks pregnant) while he checked to see if he could find discontinued items in the warehouse. At this point I lost all faith in the competence of this furniture store & walked out. What should have been a simple task turned into a frustrating ordeal. After coming home and reading other Google reviews, I am actually really that the customer service was so bad and that I didn't place an order. Looks like they have a lot of unsatisfied customers out there as all of their reviews are negative.

Went in and found a table and chairs. I hadn't looked at any of the stores yet so didn't buy it the first day. So we wanted to look around. The salesman called us Christmas Eve to say that it was going to be in the Boxing Day sale for 35% off and we said that was a great deal however we would not be in on boxing day as we were out of town. He asked when we would be back and we said the 27th he said OK if you come in on the 27th I will give you that deal. On the 27th we went in to purchase the table and chairs. The salesman that way you have been dealing with was not there and the new one said we can't give you that deal we explained to him that the other salesman told us that if we drove in but he would give us a deal as we don't live in Medicine Hat. After some time and him saying well if you buy this and if you buy that will give you 35% off like no I was told if I KMan I could get the table and six chairs for 35% off that's what I am here for. He went back and forth to talk to the manager and the manager then came over I explained that we were in a hurry as we were late for a lunch date. And that we were there to buy the table and chairs for 35% off He told me that the salesman that we were dealing with was a liar so I said well if you have salesman that are liars maybe you should fire them. Anyhow after them trying to crunch numbers for an hour plus he said wow this is the best deal I can give you which was still $200 more than the original 35% off and he said you're stupid not to take it he then. He told me twice I was stupid not to take the deal and then when I said well no I came in for the deal and that's what I want and that's fine thank you I was leaving and he said you're stupid to not take this deal it's the best deal and go ahead and leave you're just a silly woman. Great C customer service from the so-called manager he may of been the evening manager but I know he was no store manager. So I guess that was the last time I'll darken their doorstep's

After spending over $2200 on new furniture. I was guaranteed to receive my dining room chairs within 21 days at the latest, when the chairs were "ordered" they were in stock! 20 days in waiting we decided to give Ashley Furniture a call to see what was going on! In stock chairs should not be taking this long...right? Turns out we have to wait another 21 days for the chairs to arrive. Finally after waiting over 40 days for the chairs they finally arrive. Being from rural Saskatchewan we drive an hour to pick the chairs up, unpack them, start our building process of the furniture and discover one of the chairs is cracked! Great!! Now they want to send out a service tech to come and look at the chair to determine whether or not it needs to be repaired or replaced. Your kidding right!?!? We just spent $200 a chair and you want to fix it. Let alone take a day off work to wait for some guy to drive an hour to look at the chair, I don't think so! Order your customer a new chair, that would be customer service! Now I can fight with you to replace this chair. Very, very poor customer service on Ashley Furniture's when a customer has paid for their items. Not to mention the waiting game of the arrival of the product. I highly doubt the item was initially ordered on the day of purchase. You as a company should be checking in with me to the arrival of my product....not the other way around. I look forward to seeing how long this problem will take to be resolved! Not to mention the mattress and box spring we purchased was another story, a $2000 set. We were given a "new" in packing and received the floor model box spring. Are you kidding me...a floor model after spending that kind of money. I spent the extra money to have the mattress cover with this set. My husband drives an hour to pick up the mattress and box spring, asks if he has everything. Ashley Furniture guarantees him that everything is there. He drives an hour home with the mattress and used box spring and NO mattress cover. Now we can drive another couple of hours to pick up the mattress cover. Three previous years ago I purchased new couches which were also 2 months late! I am done with Ashley Furniture! After I am done fighting with the replacement of my chair, I will NEVER purchase here again! Get it together!

It’s rare I leave a review but I felt compelled to share the worst retail experience I have ever experienced. My family and I recently moved to Medicine Hat AB and purchased several pieces of furniture from Ashley Furniture to furnish our new home. One of the items we purchased was a couch in which we paid for in November. The couch arrived on time a week later but as we live just around the corner from the store and we own a pickup truck we opted to pick it up instead of paying for the delivery service. When we picked it up it was completely sealed in a box and I was asked to sign for it. It was explained to me at this time if there was anything wrong with it when I got home I could call their customer care phone number and they would take care of it. I trusted this was a true statement so I signed and proceeded to take to couch home. Upon opening the box I noticed there was a manufacturer defect on one of the arms. The liner was folded under the fabric cover resulting in a large lump that was very noticeable. I then called the number that I was given and explained the situation. Customer service explained to me they would send a technician out to fix the couch in three weeks. I thought this was an odd resolution as the couch was just purchased and figured it would have been better to return it and have another replacement couch sent in a much shorter timeframe. They explained to me this was not the process and I would have to wait the 3 weeks. The day before the scheduled repair date they called to say the repair technician would be delayed due to weather and I’d have to wait another month before they would be able to come out. (2 month after the date I picked it up). As I was frustrated with this outcome I suspected now they would just agree to send a replacement out as this would only take a week. Nope, this was still not the case. After a long time 2 month wait the technician finally arrived. He proceeded to tear our new couch apart and attempt the repair. During the repair attempt the technician brought to our attention that the foam padding was defective and he would would not be able to make it perfect. He then went on to explain he would make note of the defect and customer service would call me tomorrow during office hours. Not to my surprise I received no such call. I proceeded to call them the following day (2 days after the technician visit) and was told my expectations for our new couch to be perfect were to high and I should be happy the repair made it a bit better. I’m now the proud new owner of a new couch with lumps on one of the arms. Consumers please be aware when you make a purchase from Ashley Furniture (which I highly recommend you don’t) open any boxes and inspect for defects or damage as you’re on your own after you sign for it.

Absolutely awful experience through Ashley furniture. We bought about 6,000 worth of furniture through them and absolutely everything has gone wrong/had to be redone/rebooked/damaged/not compensated/changed. Ashley Home Care DOES not have quality products, and WILL NOT repair damaged products if they are "more than a few inches off" (drawers to a cabinet). This is an absolute disgrace, and would never be able to gain back our service. Would not recommend.

My own experience I didn't feel pushy to buy something like in other stores where they are always after you all time you are there. The lady who assisted me and my husband was very helpful just answering questions we had and if she didn't know she went to ask for .Furniture are quite expensive but we were looking for qualify and we found in there. The only thing I didn't like is when the manager added to our purchase another product that we said we don't have it but he even didn't ask If we wanna take it we didn't say anything because we needed but the bad thing is when I asked him.how much was it he just said some.more pennies when the customer need to know the price I asked twice he didn't say how much I didn't ask again just because my husband said is okay we need it and yes we were able to buy it but what I mean is that's unrespecful don't let the customer know .

So I bought a couch from there, I got it delivered. However the couch was to big so I had to go back and do a reselect. Fine.. Measurement was my fault. So I picked out another couch with the correct dimension's. The new couch was a bit more expensive so i paid the difference... I also had to pay a restocking fee of 40% for my original couch (just over 900$). So I was shocked on the fee but oh well right it was my fault. So then comes the delivery.... We had delivery set up for 4 days after the purchase, then we get a call saying they cant do delivery till the next week...so next week rolls around, they then tell us there was a shipment delay and cant deliver till the next day.. Then the next finally the week after we got our couch.... I was not a happy camper since we had already sold our old couch and sat on the floor for the remaining weeks. Not fun at all. But I mean overall the sales person was great

BUYER BEWARE Upon purchasing our sectional, we were met with an influx of problems and delays from Ashley Homestore. 1) They would not uphold their price match guarantee even though we had proof of a different company selling the same sectional for $300 cheaper. The only saving grace was that I had screenshotted the sale at the competitor, so I had the Time and Date of the screenshot. They even accused us of doctoring the image and not believing us 2) They sent out an automated text with delivery options but then called me a week later to schedule a delivery option. When I said I chose one through text they said that the text I received was a “test of their automated system” and that the earliest they could deliver was 2 weeks more than the one I chose through text. That text was not a “test” it was a mistake and they lied. 3) When I decided to cancel the delivery and choose the pickup option, they told me that they would refund me through cheque. I waited a month to get the cheque but today decided to call to see where it was. It had not even been issued yet! And then the service worker informed me I would have to wait another 21 business days before I got the cheque. So, it would have taken 2 months to get that money back. Thank god my husband was able to stand up for us and get our money back today. ALL IN ALL: I would never recommend Ashley Homestore, they were unprofessional on the phone, made it out like we were liars with the price match guarantee, and it took 1 month BOTH times to get our money rightfully back after we had to instigate the inquiry. Terrible way to do business.

I am very disappointed with the Ashley policy, we recently ordered items from the store, in Medicine Hat, was told it would be here in January, paid for the items now awaiting for them to arrive.. No update from Ashley therefore my wife called, only to be told now not ready until March, maybe! Cancelled order and still have to pay 10% because we cancelled. I agree to pay if it is my fault, but when they take your cash, promise a date then delay again that is bull. Very poor show, please beware when you buy.

I have spent thousands of dollars at Ashley’s over the last 6 years to furnish our house. 6 years ago, I paid extra to have the warranty they offer. At this time, they told me if I’m 5 years, the warranty goes unused, I could use it as an in-store credit. Well 6 years later we go to buy a new couch. I ask about my in-store credit and they tell me it has expired. Over $150 in credit and they tell me only $40 is available due to the expiry date (which policies have changed without notice). We decide to leave the store and discuss whether or not we want the furniture. The following day we contact the store to see how long the sale is on for. Two sales associates tell me they do not know when it’s over, but if I wanted they could take payment over the phone. I never said I wanted to buy anything, just wanted to know when I had to make a decision by. Nobody was able to confidently tell me when the sale was over. Took a chance and went in the following day. Sale was still on and wanted to purchase the furniture. I told them I was not interested in the $150 white glove service they offer. Three different times they ask me about it and try to convince me to take it. After saying no, they add it to the total of my furniture and tell me the cost yet again. Again I say no. A manager then comes to ask me why I don’t want the white glove service. After being fed up, they move on to tell me they added the $300 warranty. Nobody asked, just stated that it was on the total. I said I didn’t want it. Again asking why. I said, because the last time I bought warranty I never used it and instead would be forced into using a ‘store credit’ that expires when I May or may not need future furniture. Don’t get me wrong, I am impressed with the stuff Ashley’s sells, but the customer service is sub par at best. I would love to go into a furniture store where commission doesn’t exist and sales reps want to help you out rather then take your money. I am spending thousands of dollars on furniture. Last thing I want is to feel like I am being conned into spending more money then I need to. This will be the last time I purchase anything from Ashley’s.

Ashley's Home Store in Medicine Hat AB is a fantastic place to find what you need. Better yet the store staff (Mark Asham in particular) were great. We purchased all of our large kitchen appliances there because they gave us the best prices on top end appliances and they facilitated getting those items to us on our schedule (which was many months later). We could not be happier with our experience and purchases at Ashley's. Their delivery system and follow up service made the whole experience delightful. Who doesn't want everything to flow smoothly! Trying to save others the nightmare of dealing with this company. We had ordered a bedroom set which resulted in late delivery, and parts missing upon delivery. The assembly had been flawed resulting in our bedframe breaking after only 10 months. After a warranty claim they finally delivered and replaced the bed rail with a warped railing. The installation was completed wrong once again, resulting in the slats coming off the rails and the supports being warped. They said they would replace the warped bedrail they had delivered. Now 4 months later, multiple calls to reschedule the delivery and installation of the bed rail, they left a voicemail telling us they will not replace the railing because it is past the 1 year warranty date (claim was submitted 2 months before our warranty was up!) The cherry on top, the in store costumer service was rude, confrontational, and got nothing done for us. We were told lies and provided with empty promises. We will never give business to Ashley furniture again, and would strongly recommend everyone else to take their business elsewhere.

I don't even want to give Ashley Furniture 1 star. The customer service and quality of the products are both awful. Ordered a very expensive table and chairs dining set from them the first week in December. With Christmas approaching, we said we will order if you can guarantee it will be here before Christmas - salesman said that wouldn't be an issue at all and it would be here the week of December 21st. I am now writing this review on Feb 28th and we just received the table. However; we received the wrong chairs and tabletop was not up to standards. I have nothing good to say about our salesman as I believe he was slimy and just wanted the sale and didn't care that we were from out of town and needed the set before Christmas. Also - telling customers that the reason in delay of our product is because the manufacturer didn't make enough and the product was too popular/in high demand. The deliver guys have now left and they left the table for us with the wrong chairs and defected tabletop and will put in the order for the new tabletop and correct chairs.. I will be calling everyday to ensure this does not take an additional 3 months or i am getting my money back.

Bought most expensive couch in the store. Within 6 days it looked like crap, cushions all bumpy and lumpy and the fabric extremely stretched out. Took technician 2.5 weeks to come look at it, he said that's how furniture is made these days it's thrown together in an hour at the factory, they use the good ones for the showroom floors. Refuse to replace or even give in store credit. They will fix but more than likely to happen again and I was told by Customer Service that I should have done my research on micro fibre filled cushions (they need maintenance)that's it's not the responsibility of the salesperson to tell me.

Ashley furniture makes you prepay for your appliances and also make you sign that if you cancel your purchase they charge 10 percent restocking fee. The problem is that when making purchase they tell you a delivery date. Now the delivery date has been changed for third time. Our table had to be replaced 2 times with extended warranty then after the second time they gave us an in store credit only for the table but they had nothing that matched the chairs we bought with the table. Then they say the credit for the table I bought is only good for 30 days so hurry up and pick

We spent way too long there. I left feeling totally exhausted. But it was nice to be walked through how the construction of the furniture was solid. If you want to get 50% off a mattress just start walking away from the sale. June 17, 2021 update Three months after our initial purchase our couch finally arrived with a gash in the back of the corner piece. I feel like Ashley Furniture is trying to get away with something. Like after waiting this long I should just be happy to have a couch at all and not to complain about a damaged product. Boo!!

They will rip you off and not live up to their deals/ sales I will never be shopping here again!!! Ashley Home Store is such a scam!! So me and my boyfriend we're looking for a mattress and bedroom set for Black Friday. Then one of the workers decides to help us and tells us we can get a better deal with him that day. So we decided to buy a mattress and bedroom set from him. And when the Black Friday sale came out a few days later and the deals were better I was not very happy!! So I called to get the price of black Friday and since I didn't get my bed yet I was supposed to get it. But nope they did it after my bedroom sets and everything was delivered so we didn't get the full deal. The price we got was 50% off the mattress and 30% off the bedroom set! And the Black Friday deal was 70% off mattress and 40% bedroom set! They didnt live up to giving us our black friday deal! I strongly wouldn't recommend this store!!
