The location is always immaculate, welcoming and the communication between myself and the owners is always easy and organized. We know where to be and whether the venue will be open for our early arrivals. I've been on site a total of 8 times and every single bride has been amazingly happy with the venue and all of their expectations have been met and exceeded. A wonderful venue with gorgeous spaces to fulfill your wedding dreams.

Very beautiful venue. My only concern was that on the day of the event it was raining and the only bathrooms were right outside the barn. So Everytime someone had to use the restrooms they had to run through the rain.

I had my wedding at The Rustic Wedding Barn 3 weeks ago. It was the most beautiful day! People are still telling us that it was hands down the most beautiful wedding they’d ever been to. The Chapel and Barn are so incredibly gorgeous, and Elisabeth and her husband went out of their way the entire day to ensure everything ran smoothly for us. From offering to find me a veil moments before the ceremony (I had forgotten mine), to buttoning the bustle on my dress when my photographer couldn’t figure out how to, to figuring out why our slide show wouldn’t play and making sure it was ready to play at the dinner, to working with our caterer, Elisabeth went out of her way to ensure I was a happy and calm bride and that our parents were stress free as well. The Parlour and B&B were wonderful to get ready in, the Chapel was magical, and the Barn was intimate and romantic; this place is the full package. I’m still wishing I could go back and relive that day because everything was just so beautiful! ????

Even 1 star is too much. After everything was signed and done they continued to tack on fees weeks before my friends wedding. The food was cold, they left the AC on after being told it was freezing in there, on top of adding a corkage fee as the wedding was coming up. The day before the wedding they tried to charge them additional fees to use the floor on the bottom of the barn and they had to remind them that the whole building was already agreed on in the contract. Something needs to be done about management. Absolutely horrible and I do not recommend.

Horrible Management. The venue is pretty but the head ache is not worth your time. We had our wedding there and we booked 2 years ahead of time. They failed to follow our contract, they kicked us out of places we had access to all day right before the ceremony, no communication was ever made informing us of changes to the barn among other things, last minute charges showed up, harrassed me about minor details as I was WALKING TO THE AISLE. I wish I could give them a zero. Not worth your time or money... DO NOT BOOK

This place has serious management issues. They tried adding a corkage fee one week before the event even though the contract had no such fees. Also tried denying access to areas that were previously agreed upon. Very shady people. The venue is beautiful and I wish they would sell to someone with more ethics.

I was recently an extra in a movie being shot at this location! It was such a beautiful layout of old barn buildings, with large space for plenty of guests. I’ve seen pictures of it decorated for big events and it looks beautiful, I would recommend this location for anything in your foreseeable future! :)

I just had my wedding there a week ago, so everything is fresh in my memory. The venue is absolutely fantastic. Helpful owners, amazing grounds and everything is immaculate. The highlight for me is the Hay-shed, where ceremonies can be performed, as it is one of the prettiest places I have seen. The upstairs of the barn - where the reception is usually held is also fantastic. The place feels intimate despite fitting up to 200 people. Unlike a lot of other venues this one comes with a ton included. The place is decorated beautifully to a point where you don't need to bring much if you don't want to (although anything can be put away if it's not your style). It's also great how close it is to Steinbach. Ten minutes from a large hotel with taxi service makes things much easier for your guests who don't want to drive back to Winnipeg. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone.

I had my wedding here in September and it was everything I had ever dreamed it would be. Every building on the property is absolutely beautiful, well kept and clean. We had access to all buildings and plenty of decor the day of the wedding and Elisabeth was there to help us if we needed anything. We took all our photos on the property and they came out beautifully (picture credits go to vanessarenaephotography). Elisabeth always answered my emails right away and she was very understanding with payments and she let us pay it off throughout the year from the day we booked. I would highly recommend having your wedding here because it was most definitely a dream come true and we had absolutely no issues!!!

Inaccessible venue for disabled persons. Lots of stairs...no elevators or ramps, uneven flooring. 2 bathroom stalls were labelled for disabled..but that is the extent. To get access to those stalls were difficult. When the manager was questioned, she was uninterested in hearing my concerns and was "callous" to any modifications for disabled. But...there was A/C.

The owners of the Rustic Wedding Barn go above and beyond in helping their clients have events that provide once in a lifetime memories. Elizabeth and her team are professional and are friendly to all guests. The facility is beautiful, the separate cottage for the bridal party is ahMAzing. Such a well appointed and well thought out venue with a great team! If you're looking for a location to host a wedding or event....stop looking! This is it!

Perfect Wedding Venue for the Perfect Day!! Our daughter got married at the Rustic Wedding Barn. This venue was the most amazing venue. It was a dream day from start to finish. She always dreamed of a wedding at a country venue and everything turned out perfect. The photo ops at this venue are incredible. No need to book any other photo locations. It is literally a one stop shop!! It was a hot day - in the mid 30's and it was wonderful to have the venue air conditioned. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone planning their wedding.

Beautiful venue but...... I had a number of issues with this place. First of all where the ceramony took place was a barn that was soooo unbelievably hot I thought I was going to pass out, and I had been one of the lucky ones sitting by a window. I still had to get up and remove myself from the ceramony which I felt to.be awfully rude but would have been worse had I fainted!! Then we go to the reception and it's set up no better. Up a flight of stairs which proved to be a bit problimatic as there was a population of the wedding who wern't easily taking the stairs. Then when we did get upstairs the tables were so packed together that one table almost poured down the stairs, you had to be careful about backing your chair up to get up. While the speaches were happening only the front half of the barns speakers were working so at the middle-back where we were we couldn't hear at all. I will say people were frantically running around trying to get the PA system working, but this is something that should have been tested and ready before the day began. Unfortunately the lot is quite beautiful but there are so many down falls so I would not reccomend to anyone.

Really nice venue for weddings. Great outdoor space as well as indoor. Guest seating is upstairs which could be a little tight for larger groups of people. Washrooms are outside of the barn but are very clean and well kept. Lots of neat decor inside and outside the barns make it fun to take wedding photos.

We had a wedding booked here, then the pandemic hit. Long story short this is the only venue/event provider that we did not get a refund. It was a long battle with the owner to receive half back. Be aware when booking in a pandemic world. The owner will respond to this with some silly story like all their other poor reviews. Don’t be fooled. Owner is very difficult and we have heard this from several people. If zero starts was an option that’s what I would be giving.

Our wedding at The Rustic Wedding Barn was absolutely incredible! Honestly, we don't have words to describe how beautiful this venue truly is. Owner Elisabeth Schalla is a gem. From day one she was there for us and made the whole planning process so much fun. We developed a friendship with her that will last far beyond our wedding day. Her energy was addicting! The barn and grounds are stunning and the bridal suite was perfect. We loved every second of our day!

This venue is amazing! Management is the best. They answered all our questions and went above and beyond for us. We had our wedding this year and everything looked so beautiful. They made my wedding dreams come true. We still have family and friends that come up to us to say this was the most beautiful wedding they’ve been to. We had mobility issues within the family and they were able to accommodate the venue for us. You can use upstairs or downstairs or both. They provide decor and DJ with their price. It really is a one stop shop. All the details regarding liquor license and corkage are in the agreement. Same with the caterer. They are upfront with costs. Management offers suggestions and helped in many ways. We set up as we wanted and did the decor to our liking. It was a magical night! The hot dog late lunch was nice to offer our guests( better than the regular sandwiches). The bartenders were great! The parlour where the bride and bridesmaids get ready is so beautiful and perfect for hair and makeup and it’s air-conditioned! The court yard was perfect for our cocktail hour while we took the most amazing photos around the yard. So many great places for photos. Bathrooms were really nice and clean. Loved how big they were...perfect for when wearing a wedding dress. The B&B is so beautiful! I highly recommend booking for your wedding night...even the night before the wedding for the bride and her girls. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The small touches they offer really add to the finishing touches to your perfect night. I strongly recommend this venue. Please take time to look at it. You won’t be disappointed! Amazing! Amazing! Amazing!

Well its been a few weeks since the wedding and wanted to share with others our experience with the wedding venue the rustic wedding barn, so that should they be thinking of planning a special event there, they can make an informed decision whether to use that venue or not. I would not even recommend a full star but had to put something in. The kids contract with the rustic wedding barn stated that they had access to the entire property for the agreed to dates and that all they had to provide was the caterer, linens and decorations. The owners also assured the kids that the venue could take care of the liquor or they could. A couple of weeks before the wedding the venue shared with the kids that they could no longer provide the liquor license and that the kids would need to do it. They also added a corkage fee of 8.50 per guest (Corkage should have been included with the cost of the venue). We tried to negotiate a lesser amount as the wedding was weeks away and the kids were not expecting an additional cost. The owner was concerned that the kids would be making money off the drinks, and the kids agreed to a corkage fee of 6.00 per guest. A week before the wedding the owner told the kids that they would not have access to some of the items of the venue that were identified within the contract and that they do not provide wineglasses. She also wanted an additional 2.50 per guest for coffee. I called the owner and asked her to share what was included in the corkage. She indicated pop, juice, limes and ice. she wanted to charge the kids an additional $1300 - $1600 for this.I stated that we would provide our own corkage (which turned it to be approximately $200.00) and that we would be charging what we would like for the drinks - and she lost it! She told me that we could not charge what we did for drinks, I told her she could not dictate to the kids what the price of drinks could be. She said that she could as it was her venue and I shared that her name was not on the lisense and the price of the drinks were not mentioned in the contract. She stated that I was frustrating and aggressive.I let her speak and politely asked her to allow me the same courtesy when she finished. The day before the wedding she tried to charge the kids additional fees to use the floor on the bottom of the barn and we had to remind her that the contract gave us access to the entire property. Here are the issues that we experienced on the day of the wedding: - The wedding coordinator or consultant (provided by the venue) told the bride and her wedding party that they had to gather up their belongings and be out of the dressing area 15 minutes before the ceremony. We had the building for the entire day. - The wedding coordinator/consultant tried to communicate her complaints to the bride as she was making her way down the aisle. -None of the floor area was set up for the dancing area and when we talked to the wedding coordinator she said it was not her job to set it up. I had to get the groomsmen to set up the chairs in the designated area during supper. - No access to the top floor for those with disabilities or mobility issues. - No hot running water in the bathrooms.The Air conditioning was left on although it was pretty cold. Even after several complaints the coordinator was extremely hesitant to shut it off. - Last but not least, the wedding coordinator tried to tell my sister to leave 6 dozen cupcakes with her as the "bride" told her she could have them which was blatantly untrue. She tried stockpiling wedding favours behind the bar upstairs. PLEASE SHARE if you or anyone you know has been contemplating whether or not to enter into a contract with the Rustic Wedding Barn. At least they can make an informed decision based on our experience... Thanks very much

My daughter and her AMAZING MAN tied the knot here in August 2009 and THEY CELEBRATE THEIR 10TH ANNIVERSARY THIS AUGUST!???????????????? IT'S SUCH AN ASTONISHING PLACE TO BE MARRIED! My daughter's Wedding was in Sept/19. It was nothing but spectacular!! The Bride and Groom truly had a magical night! Such a beautiful venue that lit right up with fairy lights decorating the tables. Truly a Brides dream!! Complete with a star wars bouts and light sabers. If anyone drove by and saw this, I can assure you, it was real. Elizabeth along with her husband and staff were truly amazing to work with!! Elizabeth answered all our questions we had. During the day she noticed the smallest of details that we may have missed such as my daughter entering the Chapel and her fluffing my daughter's dress before walking down the aisle. All the guests are still talking about their wedding and the venue. For future brides, Elizabeth knows how to pull out the amazing in the Rustic Wedding Barn. Do not be afraid to do your research and ask her many questions. I can assure you Elizabeth will answer every question as diligently as possible. A huge Thank You to Elizabeth, her husband and staff for making my daugther's wedding memorable!!

Hi there, I went to look at this venue for my wedding with my fiance and Mother in Law. Very beautiful and seemed to offer many locations on the property. I am writing to anyone looking for an accessible facilty. This is not the place for you. My Brother in Law is in a wheelchair. He uses a power chair. The dinner area is on a second floor and there is no elevator. When asked what their solution to this has been in the past they said to carry him. At that moment it was not longer the place for us...as having a disability is about being as independent as possible and I would never want to be in a facility that viewed that as a solution. It is not dignified. Not to mention the lack of ramps and bumps to get to the washrooms. It would have been a nightmare! This also would have been very difficult for all our Grandparents that use walkers. We ended up booking with The Gates on Roblin. I got the rustic feel I was looking for with all the ramps, graded landscaping and accessible washrooms we needed!

The Rustic Wedding Barn is an amazing venue, it is breathtakingly beautiful with a romantic feel. Do not be fooled by the Rustic portion of this venues name, this is the classiest venue with just the right sprinkle of rustic, all of our guests were shocked. My husband and I were married there on December 14, and had the opportunity to have a lovely winter wedding, so yes, the venue is heated!!!! The venue owners Elisabeth and Ron are outstanding. Our officiant showed up an 1.5 hours late and they had no problem extending our rehearsal time, they didn’t even bat an eye at having to stay later. Ron was at the venue bright and early on the wedding day clearing snow. I had ice lanterns for the ceremony and the owners made sure they were put aside along the pathways so they would not melt. As with most weddings... there was some family drama which led to me hyperventilating crying, the venue owner; Elisabeth showed the outmost kindness, she took me aside, calmed me down and did my make-up for me all over again. My mother also was upset by seeing me cry and Elisabeth did her make-up for her all over again as well (side note Elisabeth is amazing at make-up). There is nothing that these owners will not do to help you create your special day, from fluffing your dress before going down the aisle to opening the curtains, to offering blankets to guests if they are cold.

This venue is an absolute joke. Due to covid they could not fulfil their contract in which we paid to have 150 guests. Elisabeth (the owner) was nothing but rude and did not want to even work with us to rebook a different date. She did not follow the contract and tried charging us way more than agreed upon for corking fees, to use multiple sections of the property we were promised, and many other discrepancies. She slandered my wife less than an hour before the ceremony which left her in tears and ruined her makeup. I would highly advise to book a different venue unless you want to ruin your wedding day.

The Rustic Wedding Barn is the most beautiful venue you can have your wedding at. But this venue is much more than the gorgeous facilities. When our big day arrived, Elisabeth and her crew made sure every detail was accounted for, from the ceremony details to the liquor receipts (which I forgot). She even went to bat for me to make sure we had those in time for our event. The staff worked diligently with all the vendors to make sure food was served quickly and correctly, that photos were taken at the right times and helped clean up once the event was over. Elisabeth even made sure to comfort my wife who was overwhelmed with stress that day. The wedding went smoothly and we ended the night at the comfy, lush, and well-stocked bed and breakfast for a perfect finale to our wedding day.

I will post here since my original review was deleted on the FB page, My brother had his wedding in September of this year at the rustic wedding barn. This venue was booked in 2017, with the previous owners. The couple met with the previous manager (Elisabeth) who is now the new owner of this venue. When the venue was booked, the question of corkage was brought up and the couple was told it was included in the quoted price and thatvthe venue provides liquor license, which the couple opted for. A contract was signed there and then for the venue, it’s services and 2 nights at the B &B. The bride was never contacted and informed of new ownership, she found out when buying liability insurance through another provider. She contact the venue with questions and concerns. At this time (approx one monthbefore the wedding) the bride was told 1. We no longer provide the liquor license you will have to do this. I’m curious as to when they were going to inform her of this news. 2. You owe 8.50$ per person for corkage, and you need to provide wine glasses. We argued this because at the initial meeting it was indicated that it was included in the initial contract we signed in 2017. After some hassle we decided that we would provide our own corkage and avoid the confrontation. At this point, the owners indicated we would be charged 2.50 per person for coffee now and we could not charge more than 3$ for a alcoholic beverage because then the couple may make money off the booze. We were also discouraged against cash bar because “we’ve had money go missing in the past”. So we handled this with selling booze tickets instead. The day before the wedding we had questions while setting up, the only reason we got to talk to the owners was because they were they touring another potential couple. At this time the bride indicated she wanted the dancing/DJ downstairs as it made more sense with the floor plan. She was told a charge would take place for this. But we countered this as it was in our contract that we could have the DJ downstairs. Also, they only booked the bride for a single night at the B&B, luckily it was still available for two. The day of the wedding: 1. Bobby-Jo was the venue rep who was there to help us with the day. The owners no where to be found. 2. We were told to have all our stuff removed from the prep area within the next couple hours, much sooner than depicted in contract(contract states all day till 1am). 3. Venue rep approached the bride with concerns, as she was about to walk down the aisle. 4. Bride indicated to venue rep that she could take a couple cupcakes and wedding favours home, but we found approx 6 dozen hidden behind the bar. Since then, they have asked to meet with the owners to rectify the situation. We have not yet heard back.
