REVIEWS OF Grand Banker Bar & Grill IN Lunenburg

Sebastian Hahn

Below Average food. Way overpriced! But the service and atmosphere is exceptional!

Lance Andersen

Looks pricey at the first glance, but when you taste your food, it's a bargain!

Kevin Gillett

Very good chowder and fish-cakes. Good selection of local beers and ciders. Staff was very friendly. Even the owner dropped by to chat about cider. A great spot to stop and recharge while exploring Lunenburg. We went on a sailboat tour after lunch, and returned to the Grand Banker afterward to take the chill off with some coffee.

Mark Thepen

Service was excellent, prompt, polite, funny and professional, food is high quality and prices are an excellent value, we always come here when we visit from Halifax!!!

Steven Richard

Service was amazing and the our waiter was spectacular (Woodi). The food was the best I’ve ever had, which was the fish and chips. My father told me that the beer selection was incredible. For an apatizer I had potato skins which were delicious and served steaming on a large plate for the whole family. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and if I’m ever out there again I will be going back.

J B

This restaurant won Best of Nova Scotia a few months ago and I can see why. They have great atmosphere, excellent food, craft beer and occasional top notch live music. There's something new and exciting every time I visit here. There's a great view of the harbour and the sailing and working vessels that are docked here almost every day.

Dale M

This is a fun seafront restaurant with a tonne of character. My friend and I had the lobster which was delicious

Eric Lanthier

Scenic locale. Great service. Wide selection of food and drink with generous portion sizes

Kyle Lander

Excellent, fresh seafood (and veggies!) Friendly, smiling staff are obviously knowledgeable that many guests are Tourists (we were). We left fully satisfied with our beautiful lunch experience. Worth a mention too, they have installed plexiglass barriers between tables - not only contributing to virus safety measures but also creating a more 'private' dining experience.

Gary O

Very good food & choice of food for a pub. I wish they would change the menu more often, because otherwise it gets a bit boring over time.

Esther Mason

Loved it! Very busy spot but staff were very efficient and friendly. Lots of tasty menu options. Reservations might be a good idea if you don’t want to wait during busy times. I would recommend and look forward to returning!

B Brooks

No mussels! My wife and I went to eat after a whale watching tour and at 4pm this restaurant had no mussels left. We were disappointed. The fish chowder was great but still disappointed that early afternoon at a fish food specialty restaurant no mussels.

Dan Glass

My favourite place to grab drinks and apps during my visit to Lunenburg. I went there everyday during my 3 day visit. It is one of the only places open past 9 pm, which is a plus, and the drinks are really good. I recommend the strawberry rhubarb martini and the blueberry fizz, both of which are made using fruit liqueurs from the Ironworks Distillery down the road. The bartender we had was so friendly too!

Tasnim Khan

The place is very conveniently located near the waterfront, and has good positive vibes. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to all the requests, even when they were very busy. Their grilled salmon made me very very happy. I can't recall the name of the appetizer, I had, but it was chips with Spinach and crab dip, suggested by the staff, and I really enjoyed it so much I am definitely coming back the next time I visit Lunenburg!

Aimee Huurman

Delicious food!! Would highly recommend. We had 4 altogether and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food came in a timely manner, and there is a good variety of options for food and drinks. I had the Salmon for lunch with a local riesling, and Pavlov for dessert.

ninnyhammer hotel

One of my favourite places. Even the club house sandwich is next level. Do yourself the favor of trying their Acadian Seafood Stew.

L K

Love their fish & chips!! Good selection of seafood and reasonably priced.. the waitress was a bit grumpy and stern.. nice view of the water front.

Kyle Simon

Excellent service and food!

Lorenzo Corti

Best burger ever. How can you go wrong with lobster and bacon wrapped scallops on a burger!! You have to try it! Order the lunenburger!

Saleena

This is a busy bar & restaurant, it took awhile to get seating and to get served food as well. The interior aesthetics is very nautical. They also had plexiglass dividers between tables which was nice. The seafood linguine was packed with seafood, and the tomato soup was actually beyond expectations. Flavour wise the linguine wasn't up to my standards, the lemony flavour was far too strong with too many capers. As a tea lover, what impressed me the most was that they served looseleaf tea - really appreciated that especially on a gloomy rainy day :)

Shelley Shaw

My daughter and I had the 2 pce fish and chips, husband had the fish cakes and beans .. we all loved our lunch. My daughter and I ended up taking our second piece of fish home as it was alot to eat. Best tartar sauce we've ever had .. waitress said it's made in the restaurant. Delicious! Will definitely be back.

Patricia K Kelly

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Restaurant is clean and well decorated with a lovely view of the waterfront. As for the food it was exceptional. Portion sizes were overly plentiful and for such an exceptional price. An array of great beer choices including beer brewed on site. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Olga Filimonova

Delicious fresh seafood, very reasonable prices. We especially enjoyed seafood chowder and lobster roll, good chunks of lobster in it. Drove all the way from Toronto, totally worth it ????

Aili Weaver

we visit down home every summer from Ontario. The food, servers and ambiance were at their usual terrifically high standards. try the seafood stew ~ it's worth every penny!

stephanie ho (stephaniekwho)

The pan fried haddock was really good and well priced for the quality and size of the dish. The service was good and our waitress was quick to respond to our an issue that I had with my dish. We were lucky enough to be seated outside, however compared to other restaurants in the area, the outdoor seating is minimal, difficult to access and provides a poor view.

Jim T

Amazing atmosphere if you can sit outside it's worth it watch the boats sail by lovely. Plus the seafood is some of the best in halifax, the crab cakes are also to die for.

EpicNation HD

The best food, best staff, best location in Lunenberg. With views out over the bay, you'll enjoy the excellent menu, and their selection of local beers. Located within easy walking distance of the historic downtown, the warf and the museums located there.

Scott Reece

Simply amazing!!

Sarah Chalk

Had dinner here last night. The service was friendly and fast. I had the squash apple soup and it was very good with a hit of spice. The pretzel was amazing and came with three different dipping sauces - chocolate was my favourite. Would def visit again. Great view of the ocean as well.

Richard Tousignant

Potato Skins for four of us were filling, but good. Fish cakes were very good. I enjoyed the chow that was served with them. Good atmosphere. Awesome service staff.

Iryna Suprun

The place is probably actually Good, but the service was def not. Not when you have to ask the server for the menus after sitting at the table for so long. Than the server blatantly serves two other tables that just walked in, 15mins after we've been sitting here. I seen 3 other servers just chitchatting at the front. We're not from the area so it would've been nice to experience this place.

Anthony Novak

Such a nice spot for a random stop in Lunenburg! They have a great variety of options on the menu, both seafood and non-sea food. And don't forget to try a beverage!

Eddie Main

Amazing staffs atmosphere and food. The cheesecake was the ultimate dessert and the best I've had that wasnt home made in as long as I ca remember

Katie Lusk

This place is a new favorite, the Lunenburger is a must-try

Captn 81

Great food, great beer and great service

Tony Hagan

Purchased a 2 piece fish and chips. Fries were fine, as was the service. However, the fish was terrible! No excuse for battered fish to be so bad. The piece of fish within the batter was very small, was very greasy and tasted poorly. To pay $16 for a 2-piece of that quality, (before tax and tip), is unacceptable.

Gina Lewis

The BEST Caesar salad!! The brunch is the best we can find around and who doesn’t love that view.

Curtis Draeger

I Go here anytime I'm in lunenburg. The fish and chips are probably the best in all the maritimes! Home made tartar sauce, which if you don't like tartar sauce this will probably make you change your mind! Great atmosphere and excellent staff!

Robert Young

Fantastic. Food was brilliant. I had the scallops and they were absolutely incredible. Even the mashed potatoes are worth writing about, and how often cam you say that? Mussels were bro good too, and it was an extremely generous portion. We liked it gets so much we went twice in 24hours.

Karen Taylor

One of our favorites. Good local spot for good food, friendly service, and positive energy.

George Catchpole

Great food, excellent service! Will definitely visit again!

Kim Mike

Excellent local source restaurant, food amazing and staff all top notch.

Gavin Hall

Such a great place to eat. Great selection of local beers on tap. Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly.

karandeep kullar

Great variety of seafood dishes. Everything was delicious. Specially enjoyed the scallops and oysters.

Onur Kurtiç

A local favourite. Open year round, great beer selection, fantastic view and a tasty food menu. 10/10

Adam “Bison Court” D

Great food. Beer was not to my tastes. They are maybe a victim of their own success: we stood in the entry waiting for a table while two or three tables sat empty, just because they didn't have the staff to clear them. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the prices were good.

Jon Cyr

The best beer selection of all the places I'd been on my vacation, with 22 styles available. Great cheese dip, although I found the chips pretty cheap tasting. The Lunenburger was great, but I couldn't see myself getting it again for 25$. Overall a good experience but I'd probably try a different pub if I returned to Lunenburg.

Jude HM

Food is superb. Service was great. Short wait to get in, (30 min.) but well worth it. Will return.

Neerav Gandhi

Excellent service and friendly staff - kudos to Selena. Good collection of local beers. Calamari was fresh and crispy. Kids pc of fish fry is big. Lobster poutine is ok, can Skip it. Seafood chowder, Cajun seafood soup were absolute brilliant. Definitely coming here next time in Lunenburg.

Harrison Simmons

Our group was drawn to Grand Banker by the log beer tap list and good selection of seafood dishes. The seared scallops were a hit. Service was engaged and friendly. Bread pudding is made in house daily and was amazing! Make sure the seafood chowder is served hot; one star knocked off because the kitchen messed up this dish, but got it right the second time.

Ron Brunton

Breakfast

Stuart Martin

Best fish cakes around

Jerin Johny kottakkal

Overpriced. The lobster tail was miniscule. Generic atmosphere. Staff was great!

Destiny Mcevoy

Both our meals were absolutely perfect in every way! The tastiest Caesar salad, that l've eaten in quite some time!! The tenderloin steaks, were cooked to perfection, very tender, topped with melted cheese & a very tasty gravy indeed! Creamy, garlic mashed potatoes were yummy, with lovely, fresh vegetables! All were served piping hot, just the way it should be!! The vanilla bean Crème brûlée, was excellent & our server delightful! We will definitely be back again soon, with our friends! Bravo to the Chef!! Kate & Paul :)

Michelle Tribe

Friendly staff and solid choices! Also has a few TVs if you need your sports fix. A few outdoor tables if you want to be closer to the sea!

Eric

Excellent food. Place was empty at 4pm and filled up by 430 with a wait time left up. Appears we just beat the rush.

Kartik Kulkarni

Great food by the water. We didn't have a view but the beer selection and seafood we ordered were very delicious. We got a flight of beers. 7x5 oz local brews. We also got the 4 seafood dish with salmon, halibut, scallops, shrimp with lemon butter sauce. The second dish was the fish cakes with house salad. Great food and excellent service.

Sara-Blair Cutten

Excellent food and service. Wait staff had no issues accomodating my keto diet and even made suggestions to allow extra options. Tons of mussels in the appetizer selection and my fish (no breading per her suggestion) and salad were superb. My daughter's lobster poutine was brimming with lobster. No scrimping here! You pay a little more here but worth every penny in my opinion.

Courtney Mac Neil

Great staff , amazing views! Loved the pretzels and beer ????????

Julie Béchard

Menu is very impressive for such a small dining room. Get there early to grab a table. Everything we ordered was great.

Mark Hanssen

The food here was amazing. Lobster cooked just right. Just make sure to come earlier if you want to be seated right away. Otherwise expect a wait of at least 20minutes. They don't do reservations for 2 people.

Marc LeLacheur

Very nice establishment, with an inclined accessible ramp to get to their door. Not sure how accessible their door and floor space would be; they have a mix of booths and tables available. The food was delicious, having seen the steak sandwich, the fish tacos, and the mussels. There's a warm pretzel with nutella-sriracha dip that is akin to having a Mexican hot chocolate. The bathrooms were nice and have those awesome foot handles to open doors. The staff were nice too.

Cory Fitzsimmons

Service was excellent. Had the steak sandwhich, a bit disappointing with the steak a bit tough.

James Logan

Excellent seafood, oysters and scallops were great. We had a reservation for 8 and they mixed it up somehow and we ended up having to wait for a half hour but they were on top of getting us swatted as soon as possible, gave us a free appetizer and were very apologetic. Great experience!

Tim McBroom

The ambiance is good. The food was tasty, but the portions are very small and the prices are high compared to the portions they serve you.

Adam MacPherson

Food quality has slipped a little this year. My brunch was cold as was my friends..more attention to detail required.

Kyle Fennema

Wife enjoyed her burger; I got the fish and chips, way over cooked - will not be returning. Allot of other better restaurants just a few meters down the road.

Tara Elizabeth

Nice, but not what I was expecting. My intention was to have the Nova Scotia dinner listed in their online menu that included a lobster tail. Everything was wonderful but the lobster, which was small enough to finish in two bites. If you are looking for oysters and salmon, this is the place. If it is lobster you want, keep looking.

Soleil Chahine

Service and food was awesome as always!

Neil MacKinnon

Food was great but limited seating outside.

Luke Batiot

Wasn't too busy when I went, but the wait staff were a little curt. Pan Fried Haddock was really good.

Terry Bigelow

Delicious food, great service, beautiful views!

bill mceachern

Very nice restaurant with a varied menu and nice selection of local craft beers. Service was very good. We very much enjoyed our meal and food was very good. Nice vibe and great view of Lunenburg Harbour. Note to parents with kids that because of NS backwards liquor laws you need to be out of there by 9.

Ben Ecclestone

The best place to have a great meal and an awesome drink! Great variety of beers and ...oohhh.... ...the lobster rolls... Delicious!!

Cody Barrett

Evan

Their reputation is absolutely warranted as the top restaurant in Lunenburg. Started with the mussels in white wine sauce, which were tangy and delicious. Had some white wine and rotating craft beers from their wide selection. For entrees, we had the pan fried haddock, the lunenburger, lobster roll and the lamb rack. I am not exaggerating when I say that the lamb was the best I have ever had in a restaurant, the balsamic reduction sauce and garlic mashed potatoes blew my mind! Well done

sai kumar

I felt a little expensive but the food is great. We ordered 2 kinds of beer & both are amazing. Staff was very Friendly & Polite. Will definitely visit again!

D Ann D

Small place but quality very delicious food and awesome service. Don't be afraid to ask the chef for a favor as they are always willing to accommodate here. Can't wait for our next trip.

Joe Allard

Great place, so happy to be able to travel our of the city to enjoy authentic maritime food!

good job bob

A great little restaurant, The balcony is the best seat in the house ,if you’re there get. You can watch all the boats go by and the people go bye, Horse and buggy I had the Digby clams, they were very very very tasty, we also had The scallops which were cooked to perfection, The only problem is that the french fries are frozen with the batter on them :( But the staff was very friendly and answered our questions a good little spot.. You may even sometimes see the blue nose schooner, and only minutes away from the museum of the Atlantic, If you like this post give me a thumbs up

Terrence Lewis

Our waitress was Emily. She paid personal attention to the children in our group and gave great service to all of us. She was highly knowledgeable of the menu and guided us to the perfect experience. Food was hot, fast and delicious. We all enjoyed the view of the harbour. Just a wonderful spot.

Luke White

Good food, good service, just a bit slower than expected. We celebrated a friend's birthday, and they gave her a large and beautiful brownie dessert. The waitress mentioned "Happy birthday" on the receipt. I had the vegetarian curry dish and it wasn't too hot - had parsnips, chick peas, carrots, spinach and rice - excellent.

C. Z

The Lobster Poutine is a huge disappointment...very very small and very greasy with very little lobster. Not worth the money at all. My BF had the steak sandwich and he liked that so at least there's that.

Matt Toomer

Food was absolutely delicious. Would recommend the Cajun seafood soup, mussels and the fish and chips. Inexpensive for the quantity and quality of the meal. Service was okay but the food definitely made up for it.

Bernard Badjari

Very nice restaurant - fish cakes and fish stew, not to mention the desserts, were all great. Wonderful view over the harbour, plus the staff are friendly and accommodating. We walked in at 9:05 pm, after the kitchen had closed, and they kept it open just for us!

Wen Sun

Ordered some Coke, chicken wings and nachos, great place to rest after walk around the town.

Michael Gallant

Located right in the centre of Lunenburg, extensive draft selection and the food was very good also. Great view from our table as well.

Mitchell

Upscale compared to places around it. We're able to make a Gluten free meal. Very friendly staff

Amending my original rating: Food was great the first time I had gone however I recently went back last weekend and there were several people waiting at the door to be seated, not one of the wait staff even looked in their direction. 5min later a couple walked in from the joined Inn on the other side and asked to be put on the wait list to which the wait staff said yes and proceeded to do so while still completely ignoring the customers at the main door. They began to speak amongst themselves, a few had been there for about 15 min and were not asked to be put on the wait list. It was quite a disappointing experience as their food was delicious, sadly because of this experience we decided to try a different restaurant instead. I would advise a reservation should be made if possible or to go to this restaurant during a time that is not so busy.

Michael Baini

The Grand Banker is one of our go-to places in Lunenburg. One change that I appreciated is that they now have a separate gluten-free menu. However it doesn't include prices so you have to refer and forth to the main menu for that information. I've never really understood why all restaurants don't just follow the practice of indicating gluten free items with GF right on the main menu listing. It streamlines the ordering process significantly for both customers and staff.

Dennis Wilson

Killer good food. Terrific food and service. Staff was quick and very friendly. Sat eating amazing food while watching Bluenose 2 return to dock.....a beautiful moment.

Lisa Mac

Very friendly and accommodating place to have lunch. Ordered 1 lb of mussels with fries and garlic aioli ... delish!

William Chueng

Very tasty food, good beer selection with rotating local craft brews soon tap, good atmosphere and a great view.

L GK

Amazing menus of beer cider and liquors, delicious food choices to suit any palette and very accommodating to gluten, dairy and I'm sure any other food specialty needs.

Dave St.Germain

The mussels and Acadian seafood chowder were delicious. The waitstaff was friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Tina Bitcon

Great food and good service. Fantastic atmosphere, really has a Lunenburg feel. Clean and well kept with knowledgeable staff.

kate Smith

We waited for our food forever and I was ready to give this place a bad review, but then the food came... Seafood stew was the best seafood dish I have ever ate. It was sooooo gooood. It is spicy although so if you don't like spicey - do not try it :)

Paul Demetre

This experience started out a little rough with some confusion and our food order not being taken, but our second waitress stepped up and provided terrific service. Emily turned what could have been a disappointing visit to a memorable one with charm and very fast service. My seafood quartet (scallops, shrimp, pan fried haddock, salmon, mashed potatoes and vegetables) we all well cooked and seasoned and my wife was very pleased with her fish and chips.

Jade Sears

Amazing food. We asked a local outside the row of restaurants which one she recommended. The Grand Banker was her fisrt choice. I had the Acadian style Cajun stew. It was amazing. I'd drive an hour again just to have that stew. Great service. Plenty of ambiance. Totally recommend it.

Andre Guedes Pereira

The service and food was awesome. Cajun Stew was awesome. Katie our waitress was one of the best we have ever had.

Robin

I thought the mussels were there best until my scallops arrived. Perfectly seared, and accompanied with the most delicious mash ever. I left the restaurant with a huge satisfied smile on my face.

Gabe SD

Most of the food was good, I did not think the hamburger added to the Lunenburger. It was overcooked and dry but the rest was good. Waitress was friendly and texting when table was ready was a good service

Piotr Luczak

Food was unreal. The lobster roll was amazing . The fish and chips unreal. If I could eat here again and again I would.

Maru Aldan (1up)

A very classic diner by the sea vibe perfect for casual outings or dates under the sun. The service here was top notch! We got a table way off in a corner and never felt forgotten about. Prices are fair for the portions you get between 13-20 on average per entre but well worth it! What really pushed this place into 5 star territory is its location. Situated right across from a FREE parking lot and with outdoor seating available overlooking the beautiful ocean, this place is definitely a must go on your next visit to this beautiful little town.

Daniel Vachon

Excellent and reasonably priced. The scallops were fantastic. If you like a bit of spice the Acadian stew is delicious. Topped off with a local raspberry wheat beer from Garrison and "No boats on Sunday" cider from Truro. A meal to remember.

Hào Howard (倫展浩)

Some of the best food I've had in a really log time and very reasonable price. Will definitely be back whenever in the area

Jared Dyck

So tasty!!! Excellent food, great service, fun atmosphere. :)

Jamie Johnston

The food was awesome, especially the mussels in wine and garlic. Also had the fishcakes and Cajun seafood stew. The service was outstanding.

crystal krammer

Wow! What a meal! Enjoyed the Steak Sandwich with Caesar along with a Blueberry Cobbler for desert! Great choice of local bets on tap as well as excellent appetizers. Atmosphere is light and friendly and the staff are just wonderful. They hosted our large group of 14 with perfect accuracy, food temps and service! Would love to be back!

Annie Rocque

Flavour wise; the Lobster Roll did not meet my expectations. The bread was dry, did not look so much appetizing. The ambiance; great decor, busy place, I got lucky they were able to take us right away. I was seated in a booth right in front of the bathrooms, which was not so great.. people came out of the bathrooms and I felt watched.

maninder duggal

Food was not fresh. Dip was with hard layer on top. Fish cake was not fish rather mashed potatoes. Got my stomach upset

Jeremy Hebert

The food and service was amazing. I ordered the Vegetarian burger with side of house fries. The house fries were just amazing but the burger was So-So! The Patty tasted a little old and very Bland. Overall the service was amazing. They had some great local beers on tap as well.

Kirk Hickling

Always a favourite when visiting Lunenburg. Food is great, service very good. Never disappoints

Amor Xiao

Strongly recommend the Cajun seafood stew!! The best dish I had in Lunenburg by far! If you like spicy food, this is the one for you, it’s not too hot that’s unbearable, but it’s hot enough to keep you eating. I couldn’t stop even when I’m full because I don’t want to waste any.

drewflav

Very wonderful! Good service & staff! Very good at Gluten free food & Celiac friendly.

Kalvin Hirtle

Food was delicious and the service was great!! Really nice to enjoy the Atlantic bubble :)

Kraig Schwartz

Great food. We had the salmon and risotto and both were amazing. I’d recommend making reservations in advance as it was very busy

Bryan Harris

Great setting clean safe ! Fab soup beer & wine... Awesome server!

Debbie Graves

We love this Bar & Grill. W have booked cottages in the area just to make this part of our vacation. We've tried a lot of menu items and have never been disappointed. Friendly staff!

Johnny Eaton

Loved the beer selection and the view!

Riordan Dennis

way too good! The view is beautiful also

Bryan Cave

Love the cajun seafood stew and always a great atmosphere at the bar. Best place to get a beer and meet some locals

Ham and Cheese

After a rainy day in Lunenburg the Grand Banker was warm and comfortable. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The wait time for food was fast and the close view of the harbor was a great bonus.

Heiko Gehrig

Very fresh, tasty sea food. Prices are very reasonable. Staff were friendly. They also have a large selection of various alcoholic drink (small bar area in the restaurant) Located along the water front with wonderful views of the harbour and surrounding area. A large parking paid parking lot is right across the street (street side parking is nearly impossible to find during tourist season)

Elke Love

Really good lunch. Fish sandwich was very tasty. Waiter Kyle was very efficient and also gave great travel tips!

Andrea Grebenc [Trustee]

The Grand Banker is one of the best places in Lunenburg to visit for a meal. The food is excellent, the service is great, there's a good view of the waterfront, and lots of cool ship memorabilia to look at while you're in. The squash soup is amazing, steak sandwich, scallops, lobster rolls, are also all great. They have a good selection of local craft beers to drink also.

Nicholas Gregg

Delicious food, friendly efficient staff, great wine selection

Kristy Suik

The Lunenburger was excellent (slightly on the pricey side when you add a side) as was the gourmet grill cheese. Service was friendly and there is a nice view of the harbour.

Aparajita Paul

Great location for a restaurant. Prices were slightly on the pricier side. Portions however were very generous. The food and atmosphere was perfect. Would recommend. Pictured is the Acadian seafood stew and the Lunenburger.

Cody Joudry

Excellent selection of craft beers, best fish chowder, decent lobster roll

Alan Yeung

It may be hard to choose where to eat in Lunenburg between the many amazing restaurants. We stopped into the Grand Banker for lunch. The house chips were a great appetizer. We ordered a lobster roll and a fish poboy for our meals. The fish poboy was the best tasting poboy I've ever had. They have great local brews on tap as well. The service was punctual and friendly.

David R Spears

Had eaten there many times. Ate there Friday August 6/21 and were disappointed. Coffee was terrible. I had the fishcakes. Had to pay extra for beans ( which I didn't used to pay Lunck for the two of us was $55 and was not worth it. Won't be back

Michael McCaffrey

A friend recommended the place and I was disappointed by the service. Sat at the bar with my brother and had a few drinks while waiting for an order. It was busy and I was trying to be polite while we waited over 45 minutes for their seafood platter. I asked the bartender about it and he went to the kitchen to see what was up. Apparently it didn't get ordered/slip fell and the bartender said we can just pay for our drinks or order another one. Not really what a hangry guy wants to hear. Ended up paying and leaving (with little tip). Found they had a stand outside near the water and had some clam chowder and lobster rolls which were fantastic. So to sum it all up good seafood with a chance of poor service.

Charlie & Lindsay

The food was too notch seafood and quick. The variety of craft beers on tap was fantastic and the local one we tried was just right. It was quiet and restful.

Jme

Casual bar atmosphere. Excellent friendly service. Food was fast and hot and delicious. Great views of the harbor.

Matthew Myers

This is my favorite place to grab food when we visit Lunenburg. Anytime we have people from out of town visiting, we'll just about always stop here for lunch or dinner. I generally go for the Po Boy Fish Sandwich or the Lobster Roll. Everyone we've taken there has enjoyed their meal, so I can't recommend it enough!

Steven Jackson

Covid is at the grand banker . Stop serving trash from halifax. There is no need of people coming from halifax to drink in lunenburg. This is not essential travel.this place has been a covid site 3 times ,how pathetic.

Patrick Wadden

Food very good, big portions. Waitress not overly attentive.

Judy Hung

I had their weekend brunch; it was just ok, nothing spectacular for their brunch. I had dinner here before, and the chowder, risotto, desserts were all amazing. That’s why I decided to come here for brunch. The bacons were fatty rather than crispy and thick. The coffee was laughing whale coffee; came with an individual French pressing coffee maker. The best part is the service and view. It’s always busy in here.

Daphne Schlesinger

Not good. Reserved a table and chose this place for lobster. Coming from the West Coast this was our Nova Scotia treat. Entered the place said Good morning 3 times to staff and finally someone said hi..they just stood there 4 staff looking at me and my mom.ordered the chowder took 20 monutes and was luke warm and mushy. Not good. Ordered the lobster tail with mac and cheese. Pasta came then waited more for the lobster tail served with a 3 day old shrivelled lemon wedge?? Really? Dont know whats up..but not a great food experience. Waitress didnt try to reverse the bad experience..just kept walking around. Never going back again.

Kirk Greek

Been here both times we've been to lunenburg and Loved it everytime! Get the fish burger and sweet potato fries and a window seat! Great view.

Jason Edgar

a great dining experience if your in the area. we stayed in a hotel nearby and went here for dinner, the food was great and reasonably priced. Would recommend you check it out!

Mary-Jane Wells

One of our absolute favourites! Great way to end the day! They had implemented great COVID 19 safe protocols and I felt very safe dining here. As always, thanks for knocking it out of the park!

Sascha Dupupet

Great friendly service and food was delicious. Fish and chips were excellent and crunchy with not too much batter.

Marilyn M

Service was good. Seating very crowded, food was not good. We had the the mussels and calamari to start, the curry sauce for mussels was not very good, calamari was decent but small portion and the marinara dipping sauce was terrible. I would not recommend the fish and chips as the fish was soggy in a strange sweet batter and the fries were under cooked.

Rachelle Boutilier

Awesome ????

Betty Lou Olivier

Fish and chips were overbattered and greasy. The grilled cheese was not good. Tasted like cloves and very little cheese. Give it a pass.

Mike Lafleur

Had an awesome lunch at the Grand Banker. It is small, busy place so expect a bit of a wait. The chowder was delicious and the $25 Lunenburger was something special! My wife had the lobster poutine and it was also amazing.

Jennifer Luong

Great lobster roll and house made chips. Nice craft beer selection too.

Adam Roy

Stayed in Lunenburg briefly for a mini Nova Scotia staycation this fall and since this place was close to where we stayed, we dropped in for a drink one evening. Staff were friendly and we enjoyed the atmosphere so much, we decided to come back the next evening for dinner. And so glad we did! The scallops and risotto were amazing! My friend had the seafood quartet which was so tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant for the food but also the service. Our server was attentive and her timing was perfect with everything. I will be back whenever I am in the area again!

Adam Karapandzich

We both had the pan fried haddock and veggies. Service was quick and friendly. The fish was fresh and tasty. The veggies were undercooked and would have been better grilled.

A L

Great view, good food and friendly staffs.

Brunch

Anthony Choucrallah

Great, cozy spot by the water. Food was absolutely delicious, lots of fresh seafood of course and a very fair price. Very friendly staff, would definitely recommend.

Cathi Pile

Amazing food and a lot of beer options to pick from. Everything is reasonably priced and the place has a great atmosphere.

jeff pearson

Very tasty, I'd come here again in the summer. Was very busy (only place open this time of year on a holiday) but only waited about 15 mins for a table.

John Hayne

Stopped in while touring Lunenburg. Nautical-themed tavern, excellent beer selection and good menu fare. Nice view of the harbour. Staff were friendly and food was quick. Tried the pretzel and burger, the pretzel was soft and warm and served with a few unique dipping sauces (interesting, but I prefer a grainy mustard), and the burger was quite good. Bartender prepared for me a "nuclear-option" Craft Caesar at my request, very good (and on special!). Prices are good, but note that burger sides are extra (which can be good or bad, depending on what one wants to order). Recommended.

Jeremy Oakes

Great views, fresh seafood well executed, and friendly service.

Mark Hickey

The Grand Banker is an excellent place for lunch, and a warm, cozy shelter from when the frigid winds come in from Lunenburg Harbour. The restaurant itself has very nice decor, with the wooden chairs and tables giving a feeling of warmth and welcome. The menu is very extensive and contains a variety of delicious types of seafood from fish cakes to Scallops. The Scallops at the Grand Banker are representative of Maritime cuisine and taste like a gift from heaven. Overall, the Grand Banker does succeed in providing the Nova Scotian experience and is a restaurant to visit over and over. Definitely recommend it.

Riley MacLean

Great atmosphere ,great views and great food..One of the best places to eat in Lunenburg town .Grand Banker is located nearby waterfront so we have beautiful few from the restaurant .There are lot of options on menu. They have good seafood options. This place is always busy during summer time. They provide a great service and staff are very friendly .

JAEL VALENTINA ROJAS CARDENAS

Honestly, this place was awesome. We went for lunch upon arrival to Lunenberg, and were exceptionally pleased with the portions, price, quality and service. Their clam chowder is bad-ass! We went back in the evening for some drinks, dessert and a live blues show. It was pretty much the only thing happening in town that night, and it was great. Definitely make a point of checking out the Grand Banker while in Lunenberg.

Marilyn Hay

What a nice place! Stopped in for brunch today and was greeted by a nice young lady who found us a seat and did an excellent job in serving us. Thank you!

Marilyn Duncan

I almost never write reviews on here, but the fish and chips were so good I felt compelled to let everyone know. Great beers available too!

Ryan & Stacey Hickey

Great location right by the water (if you’re lucky you can get a table by the window) and great seafood for really good prices. This is seafood as fresh as it gets

Cathy Puskas

Service was slow (we sat at the bar and it took 10 mins for our waters to arrive). The main bartender finally gave us menus but didn’t come back to take our food orders until he took the food orders of a couple that was seated 10 mins after us. Another server had to remind him to check on us. The food arrived fairly quickly (seafood stew and the salmon). Salmon was average and the stew was good accept that the tails were left on the shrimp (laziness?). Not sure if we will return.

Connor Wilson

Went for beer after a nice meal. Tasted several excellent local beers (the lobster ale was particularly novel) and had great conversation with very friendly locals.

Jason Picard

Friendly wait staff and upscale food make this a good destination for us sailors, who are also fans of it's proximity to the working ships of the waterfront. There is always a salt or two at the bar and the desserts are great!

Mary MacPherson

Busy. Excellent cuisine. Food servings large with scallops done to a turn. The striploin very tasty.. the veggies were cooked perfect with a slight crunch. Great Presentation of meals . Staff are polite. Decor fit the ocean view setting. Make your reservation. Get ready for a great meal. Cost $40/person incl. One drink.

Kaitlin Baston

Awesome view, great food. Got the calamari and the homemade ketchup was delicious. The potato skins were unique... Thin slices and awesome.

Mary Iskander

Delicious food! During tourist season reservations are probably needed. Bar is open late compared to other locations.

Patty D

The Lunenbergburger was to die for...topped with lobster and a bacon wrapped scallop. Lovely little spot near the waterfront and friendly staff. Covid friendly protocols are in place.

Benjamin Wilkes

Very Tasty, Good Choices of Craft Beer, A Little Pricey, But Definitely Would Return :)

Anthony Kyne

The food was absolutely amazing and the view is excellent, a very nice place to eat.

Sage Rich

The food is quite tasty. The take out portions are smaller than what you get when eating in.

Andra Schaz

We enjoyed really good quality food. The Taste of Nova Scotia with the corresponding flight of wines was a true delight! What really bothered us was the loud noise of a machine that could not be turned off (as per info of the staff) and that started humming and rumbling every 10-15 minutes. It was almost so loud you could not have a conversation. The harbour-view was nice!

Hunter Abbott

My husband's and my favourite place to come in Lunenburg. It's a very chill atmosphere with great craft beer. The food has never disappointed and there's a lot of variety.

Pierre Roy

Good food, prices, and location. Staff was very polite.

Michael Davidson

We looked around at a few places in Lunenburg for lunch and settled on the Grand Banker due to cost and location (with a nice view of the harbour). The food was really good and the portions quite large. Staff was really friendly and helpful as well. There were a lot of good options on the menu.

Luca Giordano

Good food, pretty crowded resaturant, small and warm place. Nice view

Bret Hampton

food and service was fantastic !! Every bite had so much flavor. Try chowder and fish tacos. Woody our server was the best !

Scott Skillin

This is a very nice restaurant. Great view lovely inside also. Staff are friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and the presentation is amazing.

Anthony Scherba

The seafood chowder was one of the top two best chowders I’ve ever had, the service was top notch, was greeted at the door with the most friendly staff I’ve ever met. Well with the day trip from Halifax. The scallops wrapped in bacon was super yummy. Worth every cent for the travel.

Bobbi Zahra

The potato skins are top notch. Their seafood seasonal selection(2017) is brilliant and you can get a lot of it made gluten free. They carry local brews and ciders on tap and have a nice wine selection. Lunch or Dinner- stop in and enjoy.

Kenzie L

Great food and good service

Veronica John

Waitress were beyond amazing!! Super happy with the food and the service, totally recommend, will come back ????

Alex Vowell

They've been around a while, and successful, for good reason. Excellent, attentive service. Great food in perfect size portions. Coffee in a personal French press, with a heated mug! Yup, I felt spoiled!

Rod Paul

As always, we were not disappointed with either the food or the service. Whenever we're in Lunenburg, we know we can get a great meal with a fabulous Harbour view at the Grand Banker.

Wade Fisher

Amazing views with great food. Updated June 25, 2019 Absolutely worst service ever. Complete wrong order after waiting for our food. When ask if the burger was a grand banker, told yes. Ask if this was a $25 burger and was told no they don’t have one. We said it’s on the menu and server went and got the menu; came back and said yes they had it. But that’s not what he gave us. Very, very disappointed for a staple of Lunenburg. My wife’s fish cakes were amazing, but service was awful and zero compensation for a huge error.

Marina Vander Heyden

Excellent seafood chowder and dinner options, with generous portions: I highly recommend this restaurant.

Coady Marsh

Excellent place to eat best fish cakes and awesome weekend brunch.

Pat Ling

Relaxing bar and grill atmosphere with a hint of seaside views. Nice and clean, bathrooms were well maintained as was main areas in restaurant. Service was fast and the food was delicious ☺️

Marc Bouchard

Food was great, and they had a good selection of local craft beer. Bartenders were friendly too!

Tara b

Although busy... This grilled cheese was well worth the wait!! Best grilled cheese I've ever had!! Becky, our server was wonderful and kept us happy!! Yum!! We'll be back!!

River Uygun

The Lunenburg Burger was the best burger I ever eat.

Jackson Glynn

Fast and kind service. Average pricing. The two main meals were disappointing. The fish and chips did not settle well. The fish was too greasy but the fries where at least good. Tiny portion of coleslaw. The fish cakes barely had any fish it it, was mostly mashed potatoes. The salad was the best part.

Christina Deveau

While the food was pretty good here and the waitress was nice, the food took FOREVER to come out. I had the seafood quartet (two bites missing in the photo), and it was just alright. We were a table of six plus a baby, and it was frustrating that the food took so long without any explanation (waitress didn’t come by and say it was coming soon, or ask if we wanted more drinks). I was excited to come here because of all the positive reviews, but I don’t think I’d recommend it based on the wait alone. Two people in our party had the fish cakes and they were cold when they got to the table. To be fair, we did not give the waitress the chance to fix this because we had already waited so long. Will definitely try somewhere else next time.

A l e x (Adtentus1)

One of my favorite places to have a meal in Nova Scotia! Food is excellent, drink selection is great and the staff are all fantastic!

fizrah Gold

Was our favorite restaurant for favorite occasions until a recent visit entertaining out of town guest. After spending 100.00 on lunch and all 3 of us getting I'll, we were told by owner, ' no one else complained, you must have gotten sick somewhere else.' We explained our love of the restaurant and food and it was met on deaf, disinterested ears. So sad. Arrogance and disinterest loses customers dear owner, it has us, which is very sad for us.

Temporal Forces

Id highly recommend this place if youre out of town quality is high and prices are great

Mike Janczyszyn

The service was a bit slow but the server was helpful and friendly. The food was ok. Soup was a bit cold and fish had too much batter..

Derek W.

Awesome food with a view! Nice atmosphere and staff were super nice!

The Booku

Tried 3x to get seats here before we were finally able to find a spot at the bar one day. Needless to say, The Grand Banker is always busy! Did not try any mains, just the pretzel which came with 3 interesting dips (Nutella Sriracha was my favourite). There is a good variety of beers available on tap. Try the Propeller Stonefruit while its still available.

JoAnn Thompson

I found Jess our server's honesty refreshing. I asked if the salmin was wild or farmed. She told me farmed. Had the spinach dip instead, was also tasty. I recommend you eat here

Rachel Webber

The food choice was great and the view is spectacular. What killed it for me was the long wait time for our food. When it finally arrived, my fish cakes were cold. Before I was able to take a bite, a fly landed on one fish cake. I cut the portion off and ate the rest. I was too hungry at this point to send it back. The random beer selection my spouse got was great. Usually you only get four to five beers but I came with 7.

Kira W

Stopped by for lunch and was very impressed with my experience. The restaurant was at capacity but followed every covid protocol and was very clean. It wasn’t noisy, despite being busy, and the ambiance was very nice. I ordered the seafood stew and it was absolutely delicious. The portion was generous and it was loaded with seafood. The menu had lots of variety and the server was warm and offered personal suggestions. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area!

Anne Hero

Favourite restaurant. We always bring oyr visitors here. Great food. Friendly staff. Wide range of beers on tap too.

Brett Balser

Amazing service. Amazing food. Great drinks. Very good prices. Can't go wrong here! The fried cheese curds are a 'must try'!

Craiglan Gushmore

Great server, great food and amazing view. The Fish and Chips were very good and at a reasonable price.

Brian Burris

Both food and service were excellent! We had pork poutine, seafood soup, and lobster rolls and all were scrumptious. The ambiance was super with a wonderful view as well.

Chris Sampson

Really enjoyed our two visits so far. Very friendly staff, excellent menu options especially during lobster crawl. I’m sure we’ll be back.

Linda Morrison

Scallop dish is to die for! So good????

Jody Allison

The lobster poutine was delicious as were the steamed mussels! Perfect finish to a day on the water.

Krista

Everything was great. Good service and great food. I had the Bruschetta to start and the Seafood Quartet as entree. it was perfect. I recommend. Thanks to the entire staff.

Andrew Prince

Bar scallops, canned shrimp, no lobster in the chowder paste with a little milk. Hope the mussels are better

Linda Todd

Excellent food and mimosas! Gluten-free options were great.

karen miller

Great night time atmosphere. The experience felt intimate with the live music act, but not so loud that you couldn't have a conversation. The food was also a fun assortment of upscaled pub food. The beer selection also showcased a wonderful representation of local craftbeer in Nova Scotia.

Carl Elson

One of the best meals I've ever had, I had the lunenburger and sweet potato fries

Brittany Courtright

The big draw to eat here is the view; you can have your dinner and lunch while looking at the harbor and the bluenose. I had the fish and chips and it was okay (mildly underwhelmed because I'd heard great things about this place, but it wasn't bad); portion sizes are huge. I would try the place again, but more likely to stop in for a beer rather than a meal.

John MacInnis

I HIGHLY recommend the Acadian Seafood Stew. It has a little bit of heat to it, but it's absolutely !

G Moore

huge scallops, cajun seafood soup was phenomenal, and this restaurant has forever ruined burgers for me, as i will only ever eat them topped with lobsters now

Ryan Huurman

Absolutely incredible meal! Had the Seafood Scampi because I wanted to try mussels for the first time. The scampi had a really nice size portion of shrimp, scallops, mussels and fish. Loved the mussels so much that I ordered a pound of them! Thanks for a delicious meal! I'll always stop in when I'm in town!

David Hanna

Amazing seafood and great service!

Dwellion Howard

Amazing food great service

Jamie Chiasson

The staff is very friendly and patient, and the food is superb! It's 40 minutes away for us but The Grand Banker is our go-to place for a great meal!

Roger Bell

A treasure in historic Lunenburg! The setting and atmosphere were great. Arrive early to avoid waiting for a table. But even though we were 6th in line, the staff took great care of us and got us seated in a reasonable time. Our server, Michelle, was fantastic. Helpful with suggestions for food and drink, and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. The food was spectacular. And for dessert, I highly recommend the bread pudding and the crème brûlée! Don't miss this wonderful dining experience during your Lunenburg visit.

Derek Taverner

We had a great time with the kids, they finished their meals without putting a fight! My wife loved her seafood stew and I don't like seafood or fish but their burger was very good. I took the chips and cheese dip side and it was excellent. Good beer selection. We'll come back if we visit the city again. Very crowded on a beautiful Summer day so expect to wait outside for a while even if you get there early.

G

Was very busy and beer taps were down. Hostess was not competent, and the place was essentially chaos. Our food did arrive quickly, and was delicious. Good value for the money if things had been running more smoothly. I would presume these details to be sorted out by peak season.

Kim Thompson

Excellent food, excellent service and excellent experience

Debra Hofrichter

The food was honestly flavorless. I had the fish cakes and seafood chowder, and both were very bland. Staff were not very attentive either. If they would have came by and asked if we wanted another drink, we would have gotten another.

Tricia W

It was probably the saddest seafood linguine I’ve ever had. I’m not sure there is a place for that much capers in the lemon better sauce which was watery to start with. All the seafood were bland & the fish was fishy. We also had the mussels. The portion was generous but the mussels were bland with little broth to dip them in. A nice waterfront spot but we were not impressed with the quality of the food.

Owen Wade

Delicious and quick service!

Shelley Mansel

Always great food and service every time we visit!

Danielle Graham

Great meal on a very busy evening. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The scallops I had were the amount the best prepared I've had, cooked perfectly not overdone in the least.

vincent bouchard

Good location but we were not impressed with the quality of the seafood. We had the haddock, the scallops and Cajun chowder

Matt Carpentier

Smoky porter - yumm. Grilled cheese with bacon jam - yumm. Quick and easy service - thanks!

Marc Melanson

Great food... I personally had the calamari and it was perfectly cooked. And I personally dont like scallops but I tried some and surprisingly I liked them. You HAVE TO EAT HERE

Nick Wakeham

Good service, great food and a nice view. Also a nice choice of beverages, alcoholic or otherwise. Would certainly recommend stopping in, whether for just a beer or a meal.

Isabella Cuminato

Highly recommend this place! I think the Cajun Acadian Seafood Stew was one of the best meals I've had and the waiters are friendly and helpful.

Vincent Belvoir

Excellent food and beer menu. Don't let the name fool you - it's got a great neighbourhood vibe. Lots of people stopping by.

Ahmad Shahwan

Its been 10 years since our last visit while we were on vacation. Now that will live here we will see a lot more of this place. Food was fresh and delicious with great staff and a nice atmosphere even during these days of change.

Lindsay Cassidy

Excellent food, lots of options, not too long of a wait. Would go again

Dawson Wambolt

Good food and friendly service. They have a wide variety of beers, including many local ones. The fish tacos left something to be desired, but overall the food was quite good, and the seafood was, of course, extremely fresh.

Chris Mccusker

Great food and service. Nice view of the water front from inside. Nice selection of craft beer

Kenneth Price

Food was excellent. Service was great. My girlfriend dropped her knife, without even mentioning it to the waitress, she came over a minute later with replacement cutlery.

J W

Food was excellent from start to finish. Staff was friendly and attentive. Dockside view is always a plus. Prices were great and the atomosphere is unlike anything else in luneneburg. Deffinately where to eat for anyone!

Terina Pickering

The food was AMAZING and the portions were generous. We ordered the seafood stew, fish po boy sandwich and the apple and squash soup. All tasted so so fresh and amazing. Our waitress was really nice as well and very welcoming. It's too bad we were only visiting but if I got the chance I'd definitely come back!

A Forge

Great food and service.

Michael McFadden

A regular spot for delicious food and drinks. Nice ambiance and the servers are so nice!

Rory Woodworth

Second time here. Love the staff, they work really hard to ensure you have a great time. Food was excellent, I loved the burger . Fish and chips hit the spot every time.

Mandy Howarth

Our anniversary dinner was one to remember st the Grand Banker. Great view and the food was amazing! Highly recommend the "Lunenburger"

Olga Schulenburg

Fish and chips was excellent. Great service.

Sheila MacAskill

Had the fish cakes and a beer, choosing Hell Bay from the wide selection available. Nice service and ambience, good location

Mike Gorid

I'd give here a 3.5 based on my first visit, on a rainy Monday in Feb 2019. A friend and I drove from Halifax for the day and picked it out in advanced. We arrived a bit too early for the 11:30 opening so just wandered around the town for a bit. When the doors did open, we were the first customers of the day and within the hour of being there, two other tables were taken, out of the maybe dozen tables? I'd say there is capacity for 60 or 70, give or take. Standard atmosphere of wooden tables, fair bit of natural light coming in, nice view of the water. Friendly service. I tried the 'Adams and Knickle Scallops ($23 Scallops fresh off the wharf! Skillet seared with clarified butter, garlic, and freshly squeezed lemon, and served with a creamy Parmesan risotto, and seasonal vegetables) which was very good, very filling. It wasn't the most memorable amazing dish I've ever had, but no complaints whatever, the scallops cooked just right. My friend had the 'Hell Bay Fish & Chips' (2 pc for $15 haddock, hand dipped and made to order, in their own Hell Bay English Ale beer, deep fried) which he rated probably about the same as my own. Very good, nothing wrong with it, nothing unique either. For dessert, I tried the Creme Brulee ($8) which was a blueberry variety that day, and was good, albeit quite standard and don't recall it having a dominant blueberry flavor. Friend had a peanut butter pie, which I do not see on their online menu, so must've been the daily $8 feature. It was good, and more of the same, nothing really memorable, but tasty regardless. I think I had built this place up more in my mind that it would be a bit of a finer dining experience, but that is my own fault, and overall, I was still happy with the experience and definitely would eat here again, preferably on a nicer day in the summer.

liz simmons

Wonderful place and food I was very happy today. I love here and I want to visit again.

Manmohan Manohara

Excellent food, great service, staff wearing facemasks... highly recommend!

Chantal

Food is amazing and the service is too.

Crystal Peach

Great eating place in Lunenburg. Go there with no hesitation. Good choice of on tap beers too.

Nathan James

Absolutely fantastic. Awesome staff

Harjinder Kaur

I was waiting for my guest and they let me wait for about 40mins…super friendly staff ????????

Bill Abbott

While visiting the maritimes on our annual summer rv excursion, we have stopped and tried many reputable restaurants that serve quality seafood chowder and authentic seafood dishes. This place is one of the best seafood restaurants we have experienced to date at very reasonable prices. A must try is their Cajun Seafood Stew...amazing!

Scott Patterson

Very greasy, the only good thing here is the salad. Over cooked and taste less food, and the lobster tail is so small. Everything my family has was drowned in grease.

Woo Kim

This place was located at harbourfront and the building is very pretty with antique logo design. We went inside and they had great variety of fresh draft beers. We ordered Lunenberger (lobster on top of regular burger), fish cake (combination of mashed potato and fish), and artichoke olive flatbread and it was very delicious. I was very impressed by the great services that they gave free beers on the house when the food was coming slightly late!! I would recommend this place for sure:)

Google User

Best chowder I've ever had. I'll dream about it and they will be glorious dreams.

Tunazzina Abedin

Fantastic as always. I don't visit Lunenburg without stopping by. Great service tonight from Shawn, Alex & Adam. Great food, beer and times.

Michael B

Meal type

Cindy Brooks

This Restaurant is definitely a great place to eat. The restaurant is always full of patrons and for good reason. The atmosphere is great along the Harbour. There is a large window facing the Harbour with views of the Bluenose, where it is parked for repairs for the winter. We got a private table in the back and enjoyed the privacy for our meal. The drinks were well mixed, tasted great and the appetizer we shared was awesome. The meals were clearly made with much attention to detail and tasted fantastic. Desserts were excellent and were the perfect way to end our dining experience. The lineup was out the door when we got up to leave. A great place to dine for sure!

Charlii Lohnes

Great service, excellent food. We had the fish cakes, Lunenburger and scallops. The last two are highly recommended!

Brittney K

We had an early dinner here and it was good. We had the lobster roll (which is $20 by the way) and nachos (I couldn't eat anymore seafood). Both were good...service was good (sat at the bar). They didn't seem to have a hostess or it seemed very unorganized at the front but maybe it's because we were there before the dinner rush? Overall, I'd recommend going.

Emma Landry

Love this place. People very friendly, food is VG. I like their seafood stew

Dave Hill

Large menu even for people who don't like seafood. Good special and great price. We asked a local where we should eat and he sent us here.

Robert Frizzell

Great little resturant. The beer selection is good, the flights are reasonable and a good spread if local breweries.

Jacob O'Donnell

Our fav place for lunch when visiting Lunenburg. Great chowder, fish and chips, and the Lunenburger - hamburger with cheese, lobster meat, garlic butter sauce on a bun with picked bacon-wrapped scallop on top!

Debra Graff

Everyone should try a $25 burger at least once in their life and this may be the one. The LunenBurger was incredibly delicious with a mixture of sauces, flavours and textures from the bacon to the charbroiled burger to the hollandaise, garlic, lobster and delicious bacon wrapped scallop on top. I also ordered the potato chips on the side which were delicious if a little bit undercooked. I dined alone and one of the waitresses offer me a newspaper which I thought was a friendly added touch but other than that the service was subpar. The waitresses were servers and not necessarily attentive to produce a high-end dining service/experience which this food, location, decor and ambiance all deserve.

Telli Mantelli

Busy spot. Had to eat outside and it was so cold. A tad on the expensive side for what you get.

Vikki Pink

Came here after searching the menu online while looking for somewhere to eat in Lunenburg. The restaurant entrance is towards the Harbour rather than the upper street. Due to COVID there are mask requirements and social distancing of course. But they’ve maintained their decor to seem less obvious about this. The menu has so many yummy options! I picked the lobster macaroni and cheese as I was informed the item would no longer be in the menu for the upcoming season. It’s considered an appetizer but is perfect for one. It was very delicious and had large chunks of lobster inside. Then I finished off with bread pudding which was so tasty and rich. I had a glass of Nova 7 (I was able to sample per server until I found a wine I enjoyed). The service was fantastic and the price was certainly affordable for the quality provided. I highly recommend this place and will be returning soon to try other menu items!

Aquiles M

Great food. Fish and Chips were awesome. The fries were freshly cut!. We'll come visit again!

Lorne Peach

Loved the higher view of the waterfront and nice food.

Mike Price

The food was amazing, great beer selections. Great atmosphere.

Brenda Peddle

Great service and excellent food! Nice selection of craft beers.

Chris Martin

This is the place where social goes to die. What an unsupportive and non-social crew of staff. Keep it up team. The reviews are solid.

Mihiranga Hettige

Unfortunately the only table available was the booth beside the washrooms????. Tables with the view of the water looked nice. Food was tasty but pricy, small portion sizes

Stephen Morrison

Great view, Great Food, Great Beer

Chad Booy

Sat down after no one welcomed us at the front door because they assumed that we are with different people, then the lady gave us the menus without even saying Hi or anything, then it took 30 mins for the waiter to come and ask us about what we want to drink and 20 minutes later she cameback and ask us what we wanted to order for food. Apetezier took 30 mins to arrive, and between apetezier and main dish we had to wait for 1 hour. The waitress said they had big table hence the order was late for about an hour and half, but THREE tables that came after us were served food and paid the bill before we even got our main dish. Food tasted good (cold tho), but service was very bad. Will never go back there again.

Gary swift

Absolutely fabulous. Cajun seafood stew was superb and reasonably priced. Follow that up with a server that made the evening even better. Great food great service at a reasonable price, why would you look anywhere else.

Dennis Fralic

Very busy restaurant patronised mostly by tourists. Moderately priced dishes and value for money

Natalie Schnare

Customer service was really poor. The server seemed like she was annoyed that we were there.she didnt smile until she brought the bill, guessing it was tipping time lol.

Kristina Srbljanin

Great tasting home made recipes. ceasar salad was amazing, only issue we had was the portion of the lobster roll... 20$ just for the sandwich and the lobster meat we had on it was a joke... barely had anything on it... more bread then anything... if you are looking for a traditional lobster roll this is not place for it. Other then that food was great, staff was friendly and the beer was great!

Mary Johnson

One of the better, more diverse menus that I could find in the area. Good atmosphere. Wonderful local drink selection. Would go back!

D Prizzon

Best meal I have had out since the Pandemic eased. Food was prepared by a staff that absolutely cares about what they serve. Had a meal in Halifax the night before for twice the price, but half as good.

Michael Sharp

Clean, innovative way of dealing with covid-19 with plastic shields between the tables. Great food wonderful service.

Mike Kipper

One of the better places in town. Food is great and has a good variety of options for different tastes/needs. Service was also good.

Martine Forgues

Dine in

iain macgowan

Very nice place for a meal. The food was really good and the service was friendly.

Olivier Caron

Best fish&chip in our trip! Staff was awesome. Thanks

Angad Bedi

Great service & atmosphere...very clean...however, need more pasta dishes! The seafood chowder was marvelous!

Jamie Wicks

Told waitress 5 guests. Waited 15 min. Then put at the end of the line because she thought said 4. Lots of other restaurants to go to. Not worth the headache

Anoosha S

Very busy place.. We waited for 30 minutes to get a seat...but luckily we got a spot where we got a beer while we waited. We ordered lobster and of the three places we have been for lobster in NS this was the best we have had. Service was good. If we ever return to Lunenburg we will go back.

Jim Wallace

We went there 2 nights in a row because it was delicious. We had the salmon, the seafood stew and the pasta. Wow! The service was great on both nights! We had an amazing time there! Great food and great service!

Darryl Carter

Beer menu - Good selection of classics and odd ball beers that are hard to find ($18, rotating fleet, 7 5oz beers). Recommend trying the habanero Cesar ($12)! It comes with a grilled shrimp and a bacon wrapped scallop as a garnish. The scallop was awesome. So juicy and fresh. Definitely bang for your buck. Fried cheese curds ($12) - This was gooey goodness. A one time try for me. It was accompanied by a garlic sriracha which is not spicy but still tasty. Make sure you squeeze lemon onto the curds. Beef tenderloin sandwich ($15) - This one was a good choice. Loved the balsamic onions and the beef was cooked to perfection. Lobster Mac and Cheese ($19) - I liked that they used a good fussilli pasta as it held onto the sauce really well. The lobster was great but I felt the cheese sauce could have used a bit more gooey cheese. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Good covid-19 precautions were in place with masks and barriers present. Overall, I'd recommend a visit if you are in Lunenburg!

Ja Son

Great seafood options, especially ones containing lobster. Lots of beer on tap. Intimate atmosphere with nice view of the waterfront, though not right next to it. The food is fantastic and I would drive all the way to Lunenburg again for another taste.

Daniel Greenblatt

Very good food and good service. Lots of great local brews on the menu too.

Best selection of craft beer in town - bar none. The staff is courteous and efficient. The menu is ideal and the setting can't be beat.

I love coming here whenever I am in Lulenburg. Great beer selection, very cool staff, and outstanding seafood! Love the seafood chowder and the fresh scallops.

Darlene Hart

Just sat at the bar here on two nights, very nice staff and also locals. Always busy for food which looked excellent.

Mykle Jay

The seafood platter and lobster mac and cheese were to die for! Such a pleasant patio, lovely staff and amazing locations. It was our go to spot!

S Bertsch

Good food, broad selection of locals ales and ciders, nice staff, average prices. Problem is the restaurant itself just did not stand out from the rest of the restaurants we were at in Lunenburg. I would certainly go back ( which is high praise for myself), but not being a local I might try other restaurants nude myself first. No criticism of this restaurant though as we were happy enough.

Best scallops if had these past two weeks visiting. Had to go back for the seafood chowder...wow, amazing

Debbie Webber

Great food and lovely atmosphere. Busy dinning area and small bar. Call ahead during busy times.

Excellent Fish N Chip! Great service, I will be back for sure!

Darin Boutilier

Hit and miss menu.... order the fresh seafood options served with seasonal veggies; steer clear of the “just ok” burgers. Excellent beer and wine menu.

Best meal we had in Lunenberg, Acadien stew will make me drive 3 hours to have. All 4 people loved their meal. Gteat service.

penelope hart

Great fun. Food is solid.

I’m not a huge seafood fan but being in Nova Scotia I had to try the lobster. I must say, it was delicious. The meat was sweet and tender. The price was steep though $42. The seafood chowder was light and fresh, not overly rich, abundance of fish, scallops etc. One of the best chowders I’ve had. Fish and chips was a bit greasy but the crust was good, fish tasted fresh and flakey.

We had a superb dinner two nights ago and decided to return for our last meal in Lunenburg, I decided to repeat my first night's experience as it was absolutely amazing the first time. The seafood chowder was fantastic once again but the Cajun style seafood stew was a huge disappointment the second time around. It was so thick and stodgy that it literally stuck to the spoon and it was impossible to discern one lump from another under the sauce. The service was really good until I tried to bring to the server's (Alicia) attention that it was vastly different from the first experience at which point I was made to feel like I was looking for free handouts when I had never asked for anything to be removed from the bill or discounted (which it wasn't) Extremely disappointing.

We had the fish tacos and seafood stew - both were amazing! With local beers and Woodi's attentive service we had an excellent meal!

Great Service and terrific food! Amazing location as well ????

The reason why I’m giving this place 5* is simply because everything was on point. We ordered 7 items and they were all good. Service was fast and staff very nice. If you are in Lunenberg I highly recommend this place.

Avoid, Tourist Trap. Service when it started was friendly, attentive and warm. They obviously take a lot of pride in their alcohol as the tap selection was outstanding, and the beer was well served. The food on the otherhand was disappointing. We ordered the Seafood Festival Seafood Quartet, and added the Lobster tail for $15. The scallops were passable, the pan fried haddock was good, the sides were mediocre and unflavoured, the salmon was dry, the shrimp were shrimp... the lobster tail was terrible: dry, no butter, no fork, tough and disappointing, it was added to the plate by just throwing it on top of the rest if the meal. Also ordered the seafood cajun stew - one of their most popular dishes. Eating it felt like we were back in Blandville (just an hour east of Lunenburg). I think we would have had better luck there...

Fantastic little restaurant right next to the bluenose. The seafood is really good - try the oysters! The beer selection excellent and really friendly service. If you are here in the summer during the main tourist season there will likely be a long wait as it's extremely busy.

Great view of the ocean while eating at this restaurant. Food is fantastic...and if you have room for a dessert you must give it a go...mind blowing tasty desserts!

Alan Goodwin

Fantastic food and very friendly service. The rotating beer menu is nice and full of local selections. I had the scallops with risotto and they were fresh and cooked to perfection. Add in the beautiful view of the bay & I highly recommend!
