Love this place! Pre-covid I loved dropping in for a treat - fast forward 9 months and I was a little nervous about doing the curb-side pick up but it worked perfectly! My order was easy to place on the website, when I got there everything was organized, clean and orderly. I was in and out in under 5 minutes and everything tasted amazing as it always does. Thanks! Update: We ordered the Chocolate Lover's Cake for my mom's 60th birthday. This was our first cake experience (normally we get other treats) and they did not disappoint! My husband doesn't even like cake and he loved it! Most importantly - my mom felt so special to have such a beautiful and delicious cake delivered for her birthday :)

I am JRCs #1 fan. I love everything they do - their style, their photography, their flavours, the way they treat business partners and do collaborations to help promote other growing businesses -- Jenna & Ashley are just wonderful people and great business ladies. We've coerced several family members into carrying boxes back from Winnipeg to us in Ontario, and also received a shipped box of macarons (they arrived perfectly!) and the taste is unreal. I've eaten a lot of macarons, and these are some of the best. Squishy, delicately crisp on the outside, loaded with taste, iridescent colours, they glow, they sparkle and change colours, they're like.. if Disney made fantasy macarons, these are the closest you can find in reality. Literally worth flying to Manitoba for. :D

My wife loves this place. I am not a big fan of their products. What gets me is we live out of town and cannot order online for pick up. If I enter any address outside of their delivery zone it automatically chooses pick up, which is expected, but does not provide a "Time window" to select and will not allow you to process the order. If it wasn't for my wife I would not shop here.

Living outside of the city has its benefits, but something I always miss is Jenna Rae Cakes! I recently had a chance to visit The Forks location again and I was pleasantly, yet not surprised, with the kind, polite service I received. This makes their incredible desserts EVEN better. I tried the Dunkaroo cookie dough cup and it was DELICIOUS (I couldn’t finish it, kept it in the fridge, and it was fantastic the next day too). 10/10 would recommend to a friend, and I can’t wait until I can visit again!

I ate here on Friday and everything was good at the time... Little pricey but I knew that prior to buying. On Saturday, I woke up and had food poisoning all day. Ordered the chocolate peanut butter-cup cake for my birthday and it was amazing. Moist chocolate cake that was almost a brownie consistency that I really enjoyed. Topped off with a peanut butter buttercream icing. I usually like a lighter buttercream but I understand to keep the cake in one piece it needs to be a bit stiffer. Mini peanut butter cups throughout and on top. I recommend it even if it is on the pricier side.

Brought my kids to the Forks last weekend and bumped into their display. The kids were intrigued by the bright colors of the macarons. My son had the Mini Egg and my daughter had the cookie dough? I think. Regardless... They loved them! Very pleasant staff. Nothing but smiles! Will be sure to make this a regular part of our trips to The Forks. Also, the Instagram feed is very inspired and true to the brand featuring great photos of the wonderful product.

Ordered a cake from them and 450$ later presented it to my parents. The cake was dry and not very tasty. Not impressed and thirty others also did not find it tasted good. However the presentation was nice but presentation doesn’t appeal to ones pallet. However I have never went back to try there other products but from reading reviews of what I might like they are also very negative so I will pass on this place. Our family cannot say enough amazing things about Jenna Rae Cakes! We have ordered two birthday cakes so far - our youngest son's first birthday cake a custom Land Before Time cake that was absolutely breath taking and exactly what we wanted and just last month our now 8 year old son's Deadpool themed kids works cake that I felt bad about eating because it was just that good! To say he was excited about this cake is an understatement! We will be ordering our third cake come October for our youngest 4th birthday, only this time mickey mouse themed and I cannot wait to see what the staff comes up with! If you're hesitant about ordering believe me when I say you / your guests will not be disappointed!

Anytime I have attempted to order a custom cake or cupcake order it always ends in disappointment. The first time I wanted to order my wedding cake and cupcakes but because I got married on a Sunday they were closed (which is fine), so I requested they be made the day before and I would pick them up. They declined the order because they apparently only make custom cakes the day of. I guess they get enough money that they can be picky about what orders to accept and they clearly don't care about keeping or making new customers. My second attempt is the most recent. It's my husband's 30th birthday coming up soon and I spent just over a week with Jenna designing and customizing my order of a cake and cupcakes. In my first email (Nov.14th) I told her I was ordering for January. Today (Nov.21st), after we had finalized everything she emails me saying that they are closed until Jan.4th (I needed this order for Jan.5th) and that she would still be on holidays for another week after. Is there no one else there who makes cakes? I just don't understand. Saying sorry and that's that is not going to make your customers happy. I will not be ordering anything from here again..it's not like I am ever able to anyways. Hope others have a better experience.

We had pre-ordered the "Goodbye to 2020" cupcakes for pickup. The Academy location is following the strict COVID guidelines and I felt comfortable going into their store (only 2 people allowed at a time) to pick up my order. The cupcakes were absolutely delicious (was there ever any doubt??) and they were decorated so beautifully. While I was there I just couldn't resist picking from their huge selection of macarons in their display case and getting a container of cookie dough as well for my daughter. Everything was so delicious! I ordered a custom cake for my daughter's baptism. I emailed to request the cake and was really impressed with how quick I received a response from Jenna! We ordered a semi-naked vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream, and peach colored sugar blossoms. I could not get over how gorgeous the cake was! We had it on display and guests kept asking when we were going to eat cake. It was incredibly delicious, moist and flavorful. Sweet of course, it's cake, but not too sweet - rich and heavenly. Everyone raved about how amazing it was. And the sugar blossoms and leaves (made from sugar, not real) looked real! How??? So talented. I've been to the bakery a few times previous and all the staff have always been so nice and helpful. Can't wait to find another excuse to get another cake!

Not worth the hype. We as people, plan birthdays for over a year and the main part of it is cake. It’s very disappointing when you try to do best on your end and the consequences are worst than you can imagine. They don’t tell you anything while you are ordering a cake. I preordered the “May The 4th Works Cupcakes”. Website and payment were very user friendly to do use. Email confirmations were received right away with my order number. When I picked up from their store on Academy, signage was displayed for their Covid guidelines and was greeted inside the store. Very friendly, professional staff. I ordered custom cake on my Twins birthday , it was Expensive which is not an issue but no one liked everyone said too sugary cake was way too high but round that big slice but all was wasted as no one liked half of the cake was sitting on table other hand I ordered custom cake from Sugar blooms and everyone liked everyone said can I have purple one , I requested Blue and pink only but they added white as well triple the cost half the size no one liked.... this is not negative review but if u like very sugary expensive brand name cake go for it , it is best , I m attaching pictures of left over as well waste and whole. I found screen shot of color request they charged 15 dollar for that , Now I doubt blue Color aswell or my eyes for color blindness.

Beautiful photos of the owners with the desserts made to look pretty and sell but the desserts taste like butter, sugar and food colouring. There is no flavour, I've tried about a half a dozen items over time and have been underwhelmed each time. There are much better bakeries in the city that use quality ingredients and make wonderful cakes.

Ordered a $40 box of treats, to find out it was wasted on 7 small treats that were way to sweet and little to no taste. Outraged to even find out they charge you for a box.

For the amount they charge the quality just does not measure up. The cake we got for an anniversary party was dry and not very tasty. The biggest problem I had was their decorations. I asked for a red flower to be on the cake and specified that I didn't want it to be a dull reddish brown I needed it to be a deep red. The lady on the phone who took my order assured me that it would be true to the picture she sent me via email (displaying a beautiful red sugar flower). When I went to pick it up the day of my party, I was severely disappointed. The flower was fully brown and the lady at the store kept trying to convince me that the cake was beautiful and that the flower was red. I asked multiple people what colour they thought the flower was and every single one said brown...so its not just me. Not only was the flower not the colour I wanted, the shape looked nothing like the picture of the flower she had sent me. I was embarrassed to put it out for guests. I give this place some credit because eventually she did take the price of the flower off and she didn't charge for adding a few more white sugar blossoms to the cake. I don't think the cake was worth over 200 dollars. I'm not sure that I'd ever go back.

Jenna Rae Cakes always coming through with their delicious and beautiful cakes and cupcakes for my special occasions. My recent order was their limited edition BTS cupcakes. It was an early graduation treat for my daughter who's a big BTS fan. She was so happy when she opened the box and saw how beautiful the cupcakes looked. She wished she could've saved them forever. Not only did she like how beautiful they were but how delicious they taste. I personally loved the buttercream/cream frosting, it wasn't too sweet. Overall, very delicious cupcakes with macaroons on top - yummy!! From placing my order to picking my order - great service!! Thank you.

We ordered a cookie dough cake, assorted macarons, cake cups and cookie dough cups. First, the cake looked great, decorated very nicely. It was exactly as shown on the website. The taste however was not great. Very dry inside, with way too much thick icing both inside and outside. The butter cream was way too sweet, and too thick. It would have been better if the layers in the cake had more cake than icing. There were chunks of cookie dough inside which was nice. I would not order another cake, especially for how expensive of a cake it was. I have had much moister cakes for a fraction of the price. You are basically just paying for one of those TV show type looking cakes. Looks better than it tastes Second, the Macarons were very good. Nice and chewy, and a touch of crispness on the outside. We tried 6 flavors, and they were all very good and flavorful. I didn’t find them sugary like others said. There was also a good amount of cream in each one. I would definitely buy these again. They are a bit in the pricey side. Third, Cake cups and cookie dough cups. These are just as expected. I got these for my kids as they wanted to have cookie dough. They liked them, but I found them a bit sweet. They would be a nice little treat to have on the go. Overall, I had to rate this visit 3 stars as the feature of our visit was supposed to be the birthday cake for my daughter. My daughter loved the look, but our whole family was very disappointed in the taste and dryness.

I heard about Jenna Rae Cakes from a coworker. I was nervous about visiting during a pandemic. But I felt safe because they follow all of the public health orders and take safety seriously. Inside this bakery is very beautiful and it reminded me of Nadège Patisserie in Toronto. I bought cake cups and cookie sandwiches. They were both very delicious and the price was good too. Cookie sandwiches are large so you can share one. The staff is very nice and helpful. I would definitely go back to buy more desserts in the future. I'm happy that this bakery is in Winnipeg. Support local businesses.

It’s always interesting to see their menu two or three days in a row. They claim their stuff is made fresh daily however sometimes menu items appear a couple days in a row. I believe this is because they did not sell the day before. Beware if it says (limited) you know they have been carried over for a couple days. Particularly the cookie sandwiches are very dry when they carry over for a couple days. Very expensive. I remember when they first opened how much more humbling of a bakery they were. You can’t even get a slice of cake at bakery with “cake” in the name. A small little cake cup is nearly $5. I remember when you could buy a generous slice for $6. Outrageous prices.

Going down hill quick these days. Last couple times we’ve been quite disappointed. Last visit I swear I was served up day old macaroons they were just off. Way to sweet can barely tell the flavours. Today we had tiramisu macaroons and it just tasted like sugar. Tiramisu is a pretty specific flavour how can you lack in it. The cookie sandwich is just to much sweetness again the center felt like basic store bought icing. Also the sheer lack of options is making this place a boar. They simplified there menu 3 plus years ago for simple and cheap at high prices. Pls don’t blame COVID these changes were happening prior long before that. I hope that new items start to come out cause at this point I won’t be back.

I really really wanted to like them, however, after trying various cupcakes, macarons, and even cakes, they all seem too dry for me, personally. I will give them 1 star for their packaging and the aesthetics of their sweet treats, and another star for the staff, as they are friendly and helpful. As for a bakery, it is very good, but by no means the best in the city. They do a few things very well, like their candycane cake, cupcakes and their cookie sandwiches (although I suggest splitting them). Their macarons are decent, but there are much much better in the City. Their cakes and cupcakes used to be waaay too sweet and heavy—they’ve vastly improved, so if like me you hated the cupcakes initially, they’re worth a second shot. Their marketing is wonderful. Design-wise, the items are appealing. However, I feel taste should trump looks, and for JRC, they don’t win in the taste department against other bakeries in the city, but are still a top contender.

The macarons here are incredible, and the caramel is buttery and amazing. Salted caramel macarons and earl grey macarons are my favorite! I bought 24 of them (assorted) and brought to a family dinner and everyone loved them! Worth the price ($1.90 each) however if they offered a price break I would buy them even more often than I do already. Have tried their other items; the cookie sandwiches are really sweet (which I like!) and the cupcakes and mini cheesecakes are also good, but the macarons are easily the best item here. I have not yet had their cake, but will be ordering a custom cake soon!

Corresponding with several Winnipeg Bakeries about wedding-cake possibilities left us feeling we still hadn't found the right spot ; then someone suggested Jenna Rae Cakes. Once we'd connected with them, everything fell into place. Cake designs, cake prices, cake set-up and delivery options, customer service - all aspects were consistently positive, competent, user-friendly and flexible. Examples : although they'd never made the cake flavour we preferred, they took the chance of doing so for a "world premiere" ; many guests complimented us on the delicious results. Delivery was on time, and the cake looked as good as the online photo, if not better. When an issue developed with the decorating florist, Jenna Rae Cakes looked after it smartly and professionally. And we were always kept in the loop. Rheanna Smith, who took care of all our concerns, is a real pro. From start to finish, the process was smooth, courteous and effective. I would recommend Jenna Rae Cakes to anyone having a wedding in Winnipeg. Or for that matter : to anyone seeking great bakery products in Winnipeg, at a reasonable price.

Unless your staff lied.. they said 30.00 for the mothers day 6 box. So perhaps you or the staff should get your facts correct. And math wise your numbers dont add up. 2.10x6 = 12.60. So I will assume you charge for the packaging!

Over priced and over rated! You're paying for the aesthetic when shopping here. I found the macaron and cookie sandwich I bought to be underwhelming and not worth the price. For less money you can buy a boxed cake mix and frosting from the grocery store and create a more tasty and fresh dessert. For me Jenna Rae Cakes was a one and done I'll satisfy my sweet tooth elsewhere.

It seemed as soon as I hung up, an employee was out of the building with my order - so quick!! The giftee loved the cookies. We have never been disappointed with any of the treats! I also can’t say enough about the JRC cookbook. As someone who considered themselves a non-baker, the explicit instructions in this cookbook has transformed me into a baker! Baking their recipes has been a weekly adventure with trying out new flavours and giving family some joy with the creations.

What a delicious and extravagant treat. The S'mores cake was also incredible, so rich and moist with just enough marshmallows...okay a small squabble ensued but it worked out in the end. The birthday girl was thrilled with her cakes, guests were delighted and I was happy with everything. The customer service was truly amazing and I am such a fan of the business and the owners. I had made a custom order for my daughters 7th birthday. It was a 8" Unicorn Cotton Candy Cake for $120, and it was worth every penny. I paid $60 for a down payment a few weeks before, and paid the rest on her birthday. They had me wait a couple minutes because they had run out of cake boxes, & they were on their way to pick up more... So staff were so kind to gave me a Macaroon for the wait so I was very pleased. The cake was Beautiful !! And I'm so glad I picked the cotton candy, because it was the best cake I had ever tasted... So thank you Jenna. I remember when this place first opened and it was a true bakery. So where you could go and order a cake. Now they just whip out the easiest baked goods for the highest price. You used to be able to get banana bread, cheesecakes, slice of cake, and so much more. Now it’s macaroons, cupcakes and cookie sandwiches. How exciting. This place is all about the money and monopolizing on creating a brand. The passion from the baking is lacking.

Their treats are a bit pricey but well worth it! I had some issues with the cotton candy flavouring but after speaking with Aelea about it I feel the issue is resolved. I was using it in sugar cookies which would require more than the suggested amount and it would work better in buttercream/non baked treats. I was very pleased that Aelea took the time to address all of my concerns and gave me some very helpful suggestions that should make my baking more successful with the flavouring.

Jenna Rae Cakes made the wedding cake for my husband and I for our big day! It was a wonderful experience. We were planning for a wedding in Winnipeg from Alberta and I though it would be hard. From the first email, to meeting for design in February, then meeting for a tasting in May it was easy and fun! They were very accommodating and I would recommend everyone to use them, they had it delivered before the reception and set up perfectly. I've written reviews previously about Jenna Rae Cakes back in the summer for our 8 year Olds custom deadpool cake (photo below) and for our youngest son's first birthday cake in 2018 which was a custom land before time cake (also below not shown is his birthday cupcake). We just celebrated our youngest son's 4th birthday yesterday and had a custom mickey mouse cake made for him. These cakes are beautiful and delicious! They are incredibly priced for custom work and all the details that go into them. I admit we have tried other bakeries in between as we live so far away (2.5 hours to the closest jenna rae location) and honestly we have been disappointed and have had alot of wasted cake. We have now agreed to make the 5 hour round trip drive for our cakes to be made at Jenna Rae because they're so worth it! The cakes are a perfect size and we NEVER have left overs - which makes me kind of sad because we want more, we will either have to start sizing up our orders or eating less the day of?! lol! Some flavors will be sweeter than others - they're mimicking things like candy/sweets and the non baked good versions are equally as sweet but they're still so good - the deadpool cake was cotton candy - tastes exactly like cotton candy in all its sugary goodness! Their customer service team and store front staff are so friendly and helpful too! I can't say enough good things about Jenna Rae Cakes! Thank you again

Does not worth the price. I purchased 12 different macarons - they all looked great, but: 1) too sugary. Guys, "sugary" does not equal "delicious"! 2) they all are the same taste! WTF?? No difference, all taste simply lollipop-like! 3) they are not crispy. But they should! Macarons are to be crispy on the surface and soft in the middle! This is how they were designed in Europe. Janna Rae's macarons are very basic. The real price for her macarons has to be around $1 per item, no more. Dissapointed. Suppose that cakes are the same - well-looking but very basic in terms of taste. Never again, sorry.

I love coming here!! The quality in baking is consistent and the macaroons taste what they are supposed to eg; fuzzy peach or cotton candy. Unique flavours and I can see they really try new flavours unlike other bakeries in the city. Everything I get here always tastes fresh! Beautiful looking treats and establishment with kind front of house staff. The actual items were overwhelmingly sweet- so much so that I threw them out. I purchased an assortment of macarons, cookie sandwiches and cupcakes. Using too much sugar to compensate for lack of training in confectionery creation is disappointing and takes away from the gourmandise experience. I recommend getting a macaron fix from a classically trained bakery- quite a few can be found in Winnipeg.

I got a cake from here recently. Cost $50 plus dollars I got 4 inches of cake, if I’m lucky, in about 10 cups of disgusting sugary butter flavoured icing. We would have rather eaten the box! My recommendations would be more cake and a lot less icing. We also threw out most of it. The rest just started melting itself into a pile because there was so much icing on it.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, always willing to answer questions and have patience for you when you are selecting your items, even if there are long lineups, you don't feel pressured to hurry up. I have never once gone here and bought something that I didn't like, I love everything that I have bought!
