Course and staff were excellent, absolutely no complaints
Breathtaking views
What a great place to play. Amazing views on the front and back nine of this course. Grass has been kept up with really well and they have just done an awesome job. Go play this course if you can before the season is over. One of the best I have played at Staff are very nice and friendly as well. 100% recommend. I have been twice
Nice course with well maintained fairways. The greens are recovering from issues earlier in the year and didn't cause any putting problems. Unique challenges and great views.
Well maintained course and great friendly staff working there. Nicest course in Manitoba hands down!
Grainte hills is a beautiful course in the Canadian shield on lake lac du bonnet! Like it's absolutely beautiful, I haven't been to a prettier course then this in Manitoba! I've only played here twice I think and it's eaten me alive ???? my only suggestion is go when it hasn't rained alot because due to where its located the fairways just absorb water and really make the game difficult! It's almost as if you hit your ball in the rough, no roll at all on a wet day! But other then that it's fantastic! Also if your there in the morning grab yourself an early birdie from the restaurant it's a must have ????
Greens took a beating over winter and made it very hard to make a true putt, next to the greens everything else was "on par"
Very helpful for booking a tee time, found a way to get 8 players in on a Saturday last minute. Really appreciate it! Thanks again
Very nice golf course and staff very friendly
One of the best courses in manitoba
Great golf course!
Tough course. Nice scenery. Kind of out of the way.
Granite Hills is an awesome course. Nice views and nice fairways. I was going to give it a 5 but the putting greens took some damage this year but I guess it was out of the hands of Granite Hills gold course. Highly recommended to play. Next summer I will be going a lot more.
Nice course but was 40 degrees w humidity early Sunday afternoon and we were told at the turn cart girl would be out and she wasn't. They have no water jugs on the course and we almost had to quit to hydrate as we were all dry. Then wanted a hotdog after... Beautiful BBQs and they microwave it. Keeping it classy... Way overrated. Go to Pinawa.
Spectacular. This hidden jem is the best course in Manitoba.
Beautiful course
Excellent golf course. Best layout in Manitoba, challenges for every level of golfer. Just a notch above Pinawa, Clear Lake and Gilbert Plains. 2 hour drive is a challenge, carpool road trip makes the drive fun. Views and layout second to none. It's a shame none of the Manitoba golf courses make the national stage. Beware ride only policy weekends to keep play moving. A decent challenge for any walker during the week. Very reasonable affordable prices. Putting green and driving nets great features to loosen up after drive out. Plan to play at least once a summer to appreciate and test your game. Our group was welcomed and had a great time.
Top 10 in the Province
Let the bears play thru
Gorgeous course, by far the nicest I've seen in the province. Was in fantastic condition for this early in the season as well.
Beautiful course ???? food at the clubhouse was simple and homemade ????
Greens are ravaged. Basically unplayable. Course was so wet it was like a swamp. Have played this course multiple times and this was the worst I've ever seen it. Feel cheated that they charged us without telling us the course condition ahead of time. Would not recommend playing here until conditions improve.
Fun, tough course with some great views.
Great gold course but a bit too far.
Awesome Golf course, Great shape
Course in great shape. Beautiful setting
This course has everything. Beautifully manicured, lush greens, gorgeous views, narrow fairways and wide open opportunities. 16 of the 18 greens are elevated greens on your approach shot. Do not allow your yardage marker to fool you. Add a club. Worth the drive and worth every dime. Try an awesome double cheese burger at the snack shack!
Played here in August as part of a road trip. The pro-shop staff was very pleasant and we were extremely early so we had time for breakfast before our tee time. Breakfast was good (hard to mess up bacon and eggs) and well priced. Good way to start the day. The course itself was in good condition and the layout was very interesting; maybe slightly over priced but not being from MB this might be a fair price. The views were very nice from a few holes; obviously the use of the granite in spots added to the experience. I'm not sure if it's because the staff kept raving about the green speeds and conditions but I was disappointed in both; they were slow (I play fast greens those were not fast) and in some spots they were bumpy and spongy. I can't speak to previous years as this was my first time here but had the greens been as 'advertised' this would have been a 5 out of 5... I leaned towards a 4 but 3.5 would have been ideal. If you are in the area it is worth playing but not sure the drive off the Trans Canada is worth it unless you a coupon or some sort of deal... If I was in the area I would give it a second chance, maybe we just got a bad time for the greens...
Not that many bears
Gorgeous course. Very tough but the greens are in rough shape
Spectacular golf course in perfect condition. Great staff.
Nice day saw a hummingbird
Beautiful
Saw a hummingbird
The course is in great shape. Worth the drive from Winnipeg
Unbelievable course, one of the best if not the best in Manitoba. It's progressively improving as the water and turf management is maturing and the rough is opened up to make it more playable to average golfers. Expect to lose some golf balls and play a 5 hour round on the weekend during the summer!
A fabulous, challenging course which is always in great shape
Beautiful golf course and very challenging.
Very scenic, but quite a drive. I think it might be slightly overrated, but it's definitely a top five course in Manitoba.
Amazing course
Golf course is in immaculate shape with gorgeous views of the lakes and rivers system. Small restaurant.
Amazing course! Very picturesque. Some of the greens were in rough condition but the fairways are immaculate.
Beautiful golf course. Highly recommend it.
Year around destination for cottagers
Great views, challenging course. Love the last 4 holes.
Wow
Most scenic course in Manitoba
A nice golf course.
Beautiful views and challenging holes. A great golfing experience.
I played this course the first year it opened and vowed to play it st least once a year. I have lived up to that vow, usually playing it 2 or 3 times a season. By far the nicest course in Manitoba if your surroundings are any part of your game. Beautiful views of the Winnipeg River (Lac du Bonnet), granite bluffs.
The only reason this course is not 5 stars is the drive out to get there. But if you are in the area and enjoy golf, this course is breath taking. If it was not so far away it could easily compete with some of the more exclusive private courses in and around Winnipeg.
Awesome course with dinner if the nicest scenery you will ever find on a golf course.
Amazing golf course experience despite the drive. #1 golf course in Manitoba for views and fun layout. Despite slower on course service and minimal clubhouse, the course itself makes up for any short comings. Worth the road trip!!!
Amazing views and a well maintained course. This can't be Manitoba!
Beautiful course.
Great condition, very friendly staff
Always a good time
Beautiful course that can be unforgiving to a bad shot. We played early in the season and the greens had some dead spots but the fairways, tee boxes and rough were in excellent shape. Definately worth the trip out from Winnipeg to play.
Challenging, scenic, and long. Fantastic course. Loved bogeying holes! A great mix of elevation with some big real estate to get the driver out sprinkled in with some great par 3's that require a finer touch. Recommend a cart it would be a tough walk. Only saw drink cart 3 times on 18 holes so bring a bottle of water or 2!
We played Granite Hills in late June 2021. Other than a couple of spots on a couple of greens, the course was in great shape. The greens were smooth and receptive to approach shots. Definitely worth the trip.
Great day for golf. Beautiful condition
Golf course is in excellent shape. Greens are lightning fast, but fun!!
This is a beautiful course, there is no doubt about that...but if you are looking for a friendly, welcoming staff then you might be in for a surprise. My partner and I were so looking forward to golfing Granite as I am new to golf and he is an avid golfer who had never been. We came from the city, just to golf this course. I came prepared and dressed entirely in my Nike/Adidas golf attire. Upon going into the "clubhouse" I was called out by the older woman working behind the counter. She was loud and rude at the fact that my Nike Golf shirt did not have a collar. It was extremely embarrassing and hurtful, as in no way did I not think I was properly dressed. After leaving the clubhouse, we walked outside only to notice several people casually dressed and not in golf attire at all. There was no mention of a dress code on the website, nor when I received my booking confirmation. After being to many golf courses in and around the city, I always go dressed for the part even if my game might not be great. I had sent an email to Granite Hills to explain what had happened and instead of a simple apology, as I do not believe anyone should be treated as I did, I got a reply with nothing but excuses. It was mentioned that because it's cottage country, it's a daily struggle with people not dressing properly indicating "this was all I brought". I get this, but I came prepared and if it's such an issue you would think they would post their dress code clearly and welcome those who set an example. Anyway, other than the rude way I was treated...the course itself is a hidden gem and highly recommended. Just make sure you have a collar on your shirt!!!
Great scenery, super nice workers. Great golfing!
I love this course , had some bad winter kill this year but I know from years past that the maintenance will rectify it and the course will be pristine condition soon
Tee off 3 Sept 2016 845am for $60 including Carts. *** 5 star Wonderful scenery and green maintenance for course under $100 in Canada. *** Courteous marshall. True gas carts. (Not updated to electric) Rough not too high. Bushes are relatively clean and able to find the ball if needed. BBQ smokey and burger were fantastic! A few can beers and coolers available. Some sandwich and finger foods available. However my group accidentally paid twice for the smokies yet the staff would not refund the money. Very questionable as they had 2 places to pay for the meal. I would recommend that you pick one person paying as they would force you to take the purchased goods. Would be a nice place to visit again. Hope to see a better service from staff.
Great golf course, beautiful views.
Had a great time today! The staff was great! Michelle took our order after we completed the front 9. Very outgoing and personable ???? Fairways were in top shape. The views along the water are fantastic!!⛳???? We will be back!
My son golfed a round with a local. The course was beautiful and had some challenging rock obstacles. Worth the extra drive to get there.
Great golf course but the field Marshall’s are old and rude for no reason! We kept seeing them at every other hole. Makes me not want to come back because of them.
Friendly staff. Course in good shape.
Greens in terrible condition, meals are nothing to rave about.
Most beautiful course in Manitoba!
A couple greens had weathered patches on them and people weren't repairing ball marks on the greens otherwise amazing experience!
Best Golf course in Manitoba. One of the best Golf courses in Canada!
Friendly staff, great track.
Beautiful golf course! Worth every penny.
Greens are a patchy on half the course this year (May 2019). Apparently caused by snow mold. Hopeful they'll be in better shape by July. UPDATE - July 2019... Still not back to 100% but they've been working hard to fix the greens.
Found that the course was amazing. Not enough beer carts but great staff.
AWESOME!!!!!! ... mic drop.....
Nice course!
Fish flyes were bad
Terrible pace of play. It took us 5 hours to make it through 18, most teeboxes had 2 or 3 groups waiting to hit. Course is in decent shape but not great.
Course was in great shape from tee to green. Very friendly staff. Lots of marshals kept the pace of play going. Had a great time!
One of, if not the best golf course in the province
Just great
Best course in Manitoba. Outstanding scenery.
Amazing course !!!!! Top quality
Beautiful course. Challenging but greens were not very good.
Course is rundown and not in pristine condition that I remember it used to be two years ago. Won't be making the trip back, unfortunately.
Amazing Property that is so terribly managed, staffed, trained. We had to endure a 6 hour round 6! We barely made it in before it was pitch black. Lack of carts for groups, we got ours delivered to us on hole 2.... (that was about the best service they provided all day) Starter had no idea who was up next what was going on. 7 groups were waiting on 1st tee trying to get any information of how long their wait was and when they could tee off. "Players Assistant" weren't policing their pace of play policies well enough or at all. Hire a CPGA professional or properly train the retired cottage residents to do their assigned jobs correctly so guests who venture out this far don't have such a terrible experience . You guys get 2 stars and that is only because of the property the owner(s) decided to build this place on.
Excellent shape
Had a great time staff is top notch
What a beautiful place to golf, great personel
Friendly staff. Beautiful course.
Stunning landscapes, challenging level changes, giant granite rock faces. This course doesn't disappoint
Excellent and challenging course. Great carts and staff. Course marshal was a bit strict though. Also wish there was a better restaurant or bar for drinks afterwards.
The best course i have ever been on.
Awesome folks , good food !!!!!
Best ever!!
Tough but fair
The course is in beautiful shape. 14th hole is spectacular.
Would have been more fun if the course marshal could have left us alone. There wasn't even a drink cart out so we were really behaving. Also the worst smelling port-a-poties ever.
The greens are in great shape. The scenery is magnificent. We had a wonderful day golfing. We will definitely go back.
If google allowed zero stars, this establishment would get that. However I’m forced to leave at minimum a one star. I have golfed Granite Hills multiple times in the past and tried to book a tee time today, however when I called Dorris told me ‘nope’ and that’s it. No explanation, no other discussion, just a simple ‘nope.’ I can understand if the course was full or if it was near close or a special event, but no explanation was given what so ever. After some discussion Dorris finally stated I could golf, but at an elevated rate. According to their website it was supposed to be a $42 charge, however Dorris told me that the price to golf would be $49 if I wanted to golf today. When I tried to explain to Dorris what the website price said, again I was told ‘nope.’ Dorris really seems to like that word. I then called back and spoke to a Bob who agreed to give me the proper price, however Dorris completely turned me off from golfing today. I was worried she might hide in the bushes like the guy from Happy Gilmore and yell ‘Nope!’ every time I tried to hit the ball.
If you're not a member stay away. If you do make the mistake bring cash, they don't do debit transactions and they don't like doing cash back (if they do it at all). You'll see about 3 Marshall's every second hole but the beverage cart is non existent.
Wow !
very nice course.
great day at the course.. lovely shape.. good time of year to visit there..
Absolutely beautiful course. 10 out of 10 .I love falcon lake gc but granite hills is even nicer and 20 $ less than falcon. Can't wait to play granite hills again, wish I could play there every day
Played here again after 6 years. I cannot remember how beautiful this course is because I used to be bad at this game. I have appreciated it more now and how well maintained it is. It is definitely worth the trip from Winnipeg. The scenery is relaxing. The holes are all unique. The course will always make you think and will keep you off your toes all game long.
Great staff very accommodating. Course is in very good condition. The greens have filled in reasonably well. They don"t look pretty but the ball rolls well doesn't jump and hop. Green speed a bit slow and a bit inconsistent. Overall good deal for under $50.00 with a cart.
Amazing course. By far the nicest course we have in Manitoba. Scenery is unreal, course is tough but fair. Couldnt have asked for much more. The down side to it is the Staff that work inside. 3 older staff are cranky and seem to hate customers that are willing to spend money. They have zero customer service skills and honestly should not be working here or really anywhere for that matter. I should have gotten their names But Mckayla the beer cart girl was amazing. She should not have to work with the 3 older staff inside though. I feel bad for her. Overally still a great experience.
Great course to play.
Absolutely love this course and its layout. Not much for restaurant but really don't need a big one anyway.
Great food and host staff in the clubhouse. The course isn’t too bad either :)
Beautiful golf course
nicest golf course in Manitoba (my opinion ) and ive been to lots of courses great challenge and we'll looked after very much worth the hour drive
So slow . Everytime i make the mistake of going to granite hills we wait for 10 minutes every hole. Never again. 0 stars
Just beautiful but hard course to play.. love the holes looking out onto the lake
Great golf course
Beautiful course!
I rank this course a "d". D for deelitious!! Best ever but hurts yer handicap.
Excellent course. Greens are very fast. Love playing it.
Always a pleasure and challenge to play, especially in the wind
The best course in the province (to me anyways). I have had a bad experience during the spring while the course was dealing with some grass disease, but when it's back to 100%, there isn't a better course to play.
