I really don't like writing a bad review for any company, but the service that I received at Dufresne left very much to be desired. With the help of my Occupational Therapist in Dryden, I purchased a Lazy boy lift-chair. Within a month, it stopped working and the Dryden Service send two service persons to my house, one of whom jiggled some wires in the back, and without an explanation, they left. Shortly after that, I I moved to Kenora, and again the chair stopped working. So I reported my trouble to the Kenora Branch of Dufresne. I learned that they stopped carrying the Lazy Boy brand of furniture. This time no service person came to my house, so I had to take my wheelchair to Dufresne several times (4 km in -20C) With my son's help, I found the problem: A burned multi-contact connector. I went back to Dufresne, the service manager was not there. I left my phone number. No call, and I learned what the status was when I returned yet again. After contacting and going back to the store several more times, I got a replacement board and connectors, which needed to be installed by myself. it seemed that although it was installed exactly as the manufacturer had shown in a brochure, connectors were to short and again the chair was rendered unusable. In short, I have been able the use a chair purchased at Dufresne for seven months in a two year period. As I write this, the repair is still pending, even after a letter was send to the Lazy Boy manufacturer, and the owner of Dufresne. Would I suggest that others would use Dufresne Furniture? After my experience, who would?

The one time we had someone else try to help us was not helpful at all. I would suggest that Dufresne revise their procedures - if a customer doesn't buy from you and comes back to buy something else from someone else, you didn't earn a portion of their commission. You did a bad job and should not be rewarded.

No concerns about getting the best price because of their price matching. If I find the same item cheaper somewhere else the will match the price. Deliveries always on time! If there are any issues they ensure they are dealt with promptly and make sure you are 110% satisfied. I won’t shop anywhere else.

Went in to see if there was a certain sectional on display- unfortunately wasn’t in but Kevin did a great job showing us around and giving examples of floor models for that the colour & material would be like on the desired model. Was up front and honest about the delay for delivery which goes a long way rather than giving false hopes on an earlier than expected delivery. Excited to receive our sectional when it arrives!

So happy with Kenora Dufresne! I purchased a mattress and boxspring at the Thunder Bay store and they said I could pick it up at the Kenora store on Aug 15th, I called them and they said it wasn’t there and wouldn’t be there until the 24th! Problem was I was moving away and leaving the morning of the 24th. I called the Thunder Bay store and they were not helpful at all and suggested I drive to the Winnipeg or Steinbach store and pick one up there. They also said that I could cancel my order and pay for a new different box spring (yea right) or that I would have to pay a restocking fee which is so unfair to me because none of this is my fault. I called the Kenora store again, spoke to the service manager Heather and she said that they happened to have my mattress in stock and that she would be willing to give me a box spring to go with it. The box spring didn’t technically match my mattress but you can’t even tell and the best part was she said I could pick it up that day at no additional charge to me. Totally saved the day! Thank you Kenora Dufresne!

Purchased a 4 item appliance package, washer and dryer and a bed frame with two night tables. I had a quote send to me prior to arriving at the store and my salesperson was ready when I arrived to show me the products. Also let me know when upcoming sales where. Absolutely excellent sales rep. My purchases were made in Kenora and Heather Tod was my sales person. Definitely a five star experience.

Good experience. But, as always, even with sales, Dufresne is pricey. We ordered a mattress and mattress cover as well as a washer and dryer. We like the washer and dryer and mattress but the mattress cover is terrible! We were told by the salesperson that is would be quiet and breathable. It is like sleeping on a plastic bag. It's loud, very hot, and not at all breathable. It's unfortunate because it sort of ruins the comfort of the new mattress.

A week after purchasing a leather sofa and love seat, we noticed that the leather had stretched and sagged where we sat. I called Dufresne and their service manager came to our home and said that this shouldn’t happen and he would have the leather replaced. While the love seat was gone for repairs, we started using the sofa and it stretched as well. When I called the service mgr. again, he said to call him in the spring when we return after being away for the winter. I called when we returned and he said there was nothing more he could. So I then spoke to the store manager and after much debate he stated that “all leather does that”. I strongly disagree because our last Sofa love seat was at least 10 years old and it never stretched. So then I called the Dufresne head office and they asked me to send them an email with photos, etc. which I did. That was almost two weeks ago and still NO RESPONSE. We’ve dealt with Dufresne Furniture since they opened but will think twice before doing so again.

Great experience and greeted shortly after I came into the building. Helped me find what I was looking for and more. The staff member found me some really good deals and walked me through all the options from start to finish. Everything from colour preference, how many chairs I want, details about TVs and helped me add an additional amount to my financing card to get everything on my list. Even though not all tv sized were displayed, they were still displayed in a different size. I didn't get rushed out pressured. I recommend Trish at the Kenora location to help you with all your shopping needs!
