I had a cake made for my mother in law's 70th birthday. It had to be gluten free and I wanted it to be special. When I picked it up, it was beautiful. Little did I know, it was the best damn cake I've ever had! I gave Kathie very little turn around time. So to say I'm impressed is a MASSIVE understatement.

Emailed and called this establishment twice, each. Need cakes: one now and one in January. Did not get a call, email or text back to let me know if they could make a cake or not. Nothing. Nada. Rien. Their outgoing message says they were booked until oct 2018. Their work certainly looks impressive. Their arrogant treatment of potential customers, quite frankly, sucks. Hope they treat their actual customers better but I doubt it. If no one can take 3 seconds to fire off a return email saying yes or no...or send a text. Let alone pick up the phone and call? Arrogant.

Kathie is absolutely on top of it... she produced a themed birthday cake for my wife that not only was beautiful, to top it all off she literally made it taste like a dessert from the East Coast!!! Dunno how she pulled that one off but honestly- it was the hit of the party and because so many people were watching their “ waste line” we got to savor. It for another 10 days after the party!!!! Won’t call anyone else ever in the Okanagan!! My wife is wanting her to figure out shipping boxes so we can bring some into Calgary for events!!

As a local planner, I get really excited when clients tell me kathie is their baker. She has some of the best cakes and decorates them to the highest standards. She is a one-woman show and an unstoppable force. You won't be disappointed.

From the moment we attempted to hire Kathy for our wedding, the communication was horrid. Her email correspondence was either 10-14 days delayed, or non existent. We would often leave several voicemails with none of them being returned. The one time she miraculously answered the phone, we had discussed our wedding date, and gave our credit card information over the phone for a deposit. Big mistake. We had not discussed design, cake flavours, anything, then COVID-19 hit. We had to reschedule our wedding to July 2021, and asked Kathy if the new date would work. She proclaimed she will be on vacation, and will also be keeping our deposit. There had been absolutely no work whatsoever on her end besides taking our credit card information. With there being a global pandemic, we expected more understanding and for her to be willing to make exceptions; since she was not available for the one and only date we could get for our wedding reschedule next year. If you book her, prepare for nearly zero communication or flexibility. Do not recommend hiring as a vendor.

Kathie made my wedding cake and OMG was it ever the most delicious cake I have ever tasted, not to mention the beautiful piece of art that it was! She is so talented there isn't anything she can't do. I highly recommend to go and see Kathie for all of your cake and cupcake needs!!

We were having a special event and called several times, left messages, emailed and instagram messaged over 1.5 months in advance of this event to order a cake and had no (zero) response. This unprofessional experience was very disappointing as a potential customer. I am not sure if this company is looking to build their business at all and if they are, we recommend getting back to people.

If you're looking for the perfect cupcake, you better believe you're going to find it here. Every one that I have had has left me wanting more! So many different flavors to choose from, but I have to say my favorite is her Lemon Raspberry cupcake. They're always so fresh! Don't even get me started on the cakes! So many beautiful, fun, intricate cakes for any occasion! Having the options of vegan and gluten free cakes/cupcakes makes it easy for everyone to enjoy a sweet treat! We had Kakes by kathe for our wedding. The cake was decent but the icing which was supposed to be cream cheese frosting but tasted more just like regular frosting. Pricing was great but customer service was poor. We had to call, email and drop in to even get a response at one point which was 3 weeks prior to our wedding. There had been multiple weeks where we didn’t hear from her. Obviously a very stressful time and not knowing if your cake vendor will show is very concerning.

My Wife and I ordered a two-piece Wedding Cake (A half Vanilla, half Red Velvet Cake, all Keto) for our special occasion, and we can both say that this is the best cake we have purchased! The cakes were fluffy, spongy, moist, and delicious. The guests we had were also absolutely raving about the cakes. Kathie delivered professional service, outstanding product and best of all - she made our special day even more special with the magnificent work she created.
