Used Canadian Events catering for my wedding and had an awful experience. While the food was delicious my experience was poor from start to finish. When getting a quote the price jumped significantly half way through because the owner had a "miscommunication" with the chef. While he agreed to meet in the middle because of it, it also meant we lost a meal (the lunch) because of it. On the wedding day the service wasn't what we expected at all and was in our opinion completely unprofessional. After the ceremony we did the typical sneak away for photos before the reception started. We were unlucky with a bit of rain to our outdoor reception which made everyone cold - luckily we were serving hot food. When we arrived at the reception Chris, the owner, came up to me (the nervous bride) and said "we put the buffet out half an hour ago so all the food is probably cold". How horrible, it caused me to be incredibly nervous throughout the whole reception. Trying to remedy the situation I wanted to create a line going two sides to get people through faster. With no flexibility he told me flat out that we couldn't do that. About an hour and a half before they left the owner interrupted a conversation I was having with family to say "can you pay me" in front of the person I was talking to. Finally they required quite a bit of attention to figure out which plates to clear and which to leave. Having to leave my event and help them do their job. We also lost some of our damage deposit on the venue due to them carelessly breaking a lot of glasses during clean up. Finally they left quite a bit of broken glass on the floor which one of the kids ended up getting cut with! Horrible!!!
