When planning our reception, choosing a DJ was the thing I was most nervous about. We've seen some pretty bad wedding DJs...and we really wanted to avoid having a lame party where no one is dancing. We really wanted a great DJ who would be able to read the crowd and keep people on the dance floor. Our wedding planner recommended Airwaves and after the first chat with Waira there I could see why. The Airwaves team was great to work with. They listened to what we wanted and matched us up with a great DJ that specialized the style of music we most wanted. They were very easy to deal with and most importantly everyone loved the music! People were coming up to us all night saying how awesome he was, and we literally had to kick people off the dance floor at the end of the night.

We hired Airwaves Music. Our main point of contact was Waira Mendoza-Angle and our wedding DJ was Travis Turner. Waira was very professional, and the Airwaves online planning forms were so easy to work with and kept everything organized. When our original DJ was unable to work due to an injury, Travis stepped in to DJ our wedding at the last minute. The great thing about booking our DJ through Airwaves is that they have access to back-up DJs in case of situations like ours. Travis was professional, friendly, responsive and knowledgeable. He came prepared for our planning meeting with some great playlists and was able to cater to a variety of music genres. He also accommodated all of our custom song requests and did a great job fading in and out the music at the exact times that we requested during the ceremony and the first dances. During the reception, Travis did a great job reading the energy in the room and kept the dance floor full all night. We would highly recommend both Airwaves and Travis!

Attended my cousin's wedding this summer in the beautiful Okanagan in July. Great weather, great food, and unexpectedly incredible music! Music was so great that we went out of our way to find out who it was (DJ John Bird). Wedding music is usually pretty generic, but this guy knew how to get a party started and really knew what the crowd wanted - he really made this wedding one to remember!

We had a great experience with our DJ this summer. The day was so crazy busy but the DJ was very organized in setting everything up and I really appreciate how independently he got things going. We did not have any time to help organize the music so it was a huge relief to not have to worry about it! He also played our selected songs for the ceremony perfectly and transitioned from one song to the next very smoothly. The other thing he did that my husband and I really enjoyed was our MCs told our guests that instead of clinking glasses for us to kiss they had to think of a movie quote and replace a word in it with "kiss" (very creative idea!) and the DJ took some time to find a song with kiss in it and then played it for us - he played Kiss the Girl from the Little Mermaid. It was a really nice extra bit of effort. Overall we were very happy with your service and we found the pricing very reasonable

Having worked as a DJ for Kelowna Wedding DJs for over 3 years now, I can really attest with an inside perspective to how different this company is from a typical wedding DJ company. Kelowna Wedding DJs really has the customer service and event planning side of things figured out. With friendly operations staff there to help take the stress out of planning the music for a wedding. I find that by the time I interact with the client (usually 1-3months before the wedding date), they are so at ease be cause all of the planning details have been clarified by the Kelowna Wedding DJs Event Coordinator. This company has a 10 year track record of having performed at over 2500 weddings and events throughout the Okanagan. I definitely encourage any couples who are searching for a DJ to get in touch with the team here to get their questions answered.

My husband and I attended my cousin's wedding in Kelowna this past May that has us talking about it to this day which brings me to this review. The bride and groom quite honestly made a fantastic choice going with Kelowna Wedding DJs. I don't think I have ever seen so many guests at a wedding on the dance floor at once and for so long. In my opinion, this was a direct consequence of DJ Waira and his talented way of both reading the crowd and playing the requests at the right time. It takes skill to ensure everyone is happy with the music and happy we were. Thanks for making my cousin's wedding truly memorable!

My wife and I were both blown away by the quality of both Airwaves and our DJ Rob Craig. Everyone that we interacted with at your company provided us with exceptional service and actively helped us get the best deal we could find which was a great relief to us considering the nickel and dime affair that planning a wedding can become. We also received several emails from staff and a couple Skype sessions from Rob to help us sort out the fine details of the wedding plan in order to ensure all our needs and requests would be met; it was greatly appreciated! As for the day of the wedding, Rob performed above and beyond what we had expected: he was one of the first people to arrive at the venue and had all of his equipment set up long before the first guests began to arrive; he adeptly evaluated the moods and tastes of the crowd to keep everyone having fun and on the dance floor; and during the one hiccup in the evening (high gusts of wind knocked out the power to the sound system), he quickly and efficiently restored the music and kept the party going. All-in-all, we could not have been happier with his professionalism and friendly demeanour! We greatly appreciate the efforts of both Rob and Airwaves in helping to make our special day become what many guests called, "the best wedding ever!" We will definitely be recommending both to anyone and everyone we know who is planning their own weddings!

After a few brief conversations, he chose to pair us with DJ Matt. Since we are fairly laid back by nature, we appreciated DJ Matt’s attention to detail. He contacted us prior to the event to ensure that all i’s were dotted and t’s were crossed. We got married on August 26th at the Hotel Eldorado and had DJ Rob. We were so impressed and lucky that we got such an amazing DJ. Because we lived out of town, he contacted us a few times to make sure that he had exactly what we wanted and that's exactly what he did! DJ Eddie at Airwaves Music was the BEST DJ. We had a fairly complicated location (in the forest with multiple set-ups, running off a generator that needed to be moved, etc.) and Eddie handled everything seamlessly. The dance floor was packed all night and everyone kept telling us how great he was! We have given out his info to atleast 3 people who asked for it after the wedding! The communication was fantastic and Airwaves online database is easy to use and very helpful for requests. We would HIGHLY recommend DJ Eddie! We had hired "let's dance dj Dan "and paid them to show up for our wedding, an hour after they didn't show, we phoned airwaves by mistake too find our about dj Dan, only to have airwaves music step up and rush their own dj out to our secluded private wedding and save the night with great jams and energy. They even gave us a small discount due to the money we had invested into the other dj. I would highly recommend them due to professionalism, the fact that they put us first and dealt with everything so fast. They made what almost ruined our wedding, the best night for us. We provided greater than a year notice of cancelling our wedding due to covid and the company would not give us our deposit back ($800). The company did not put any time or effort into our wedding as it was so far away yet declined to return the deposit. We ended up eloping due to covid and they were the only vendor that did not give us back our deposit. We even had small family owned businesses give us back our deposits and this large company is simply greedy. Do not hire!!

UPDATE: Shortly after posting this review, I was contacted personally by Waira from Airwaves to apologize for his part of the experience we had and to explain what had happened on their end to contribute to the issues I identified. He was professional, apologetic, and made a solid effort to identify any areas of deficiency in the experience that we had had. I hope that the level of customer service I experienced from him in that phone call is more typical of what most customers receive, and I can see that our experience was the result of a number of unfortunate errors rather than part of a pattern of poor service. I have amended my rating to reflect the excellent customer service on Waira's part in dealing with an event that does not live up to a customer's expectations. If they make the changes we discussed over the phone to prevent these sorts of errors from occurring in the future, I would be willing to recommend their services. INITIAL REVIEW: We hired Airwaves to be our DJ company for our wedding in the Okanagan in summer 2018. Our experience with Airwaves was quite frustrating overall and I would recommend couples avoid this company based on our experience. The first warning sign should have been an unprofessional email from Waira Mendoza suggesting that my wife might have been crushed under a filing cabinet because he (mistakenly) thought that we hadn't yet paid our deposit. The communication was poor from start to finish, with Airwaves staff continuing to contact my wife despite our repeated requests to contact me with questions or updates. Once we had our DJ assigned and we started working on our planning form, our next red flag should have been the fact that no one from Airwaves seemed to be able to see the content we had filled out on the form they sent us. Eventually we had to get the event details and our music requests to our DJ by sending him screenshots from his own company's online form. We are big music fans and had made three separate playlists for the different phases of our wedding day, and all our DJ had to do was put the right playlist on at the right time, but our DJ didn't mention to us that he was having trouble seeing our playlists or requests until the event was already underway, so I spent a bunch of time on my wedding day trying to micromanage our DJ's music choices so that we didn't have to listen to the generic pop and wedding songs he was playing otherwise. After the event, their feedback form didn't allow me to even select our DJ, and given the failure of their website for our wedding, I'm sure my feedback won't be seen by anyone anyways. Would not recommend. Would have been happier renting our own PA and using an iPod.

DJ Jordan was amazing and our wedding guests loved the song choices. We never had to worry about when music needed to be played and the sound was always on point throughout our ceremony and reception. Airwaves did a great job, and I would highly recommend them. They took care of everything and were very responsive to any questions or concerns that we had. We barely noticed set up and take down in the background, and Jordan really knew how to run the show.
