It's nice. And good place to do business meetings/conferences/conventions.

Canada Place underground parking provides convenient dry and warm to compliment your visit. The food was spectacular! The view of the river valley amazing! Service provided during our event that we attended compliments of TD was second to none! A tremendous experience!

Naomi R. Davis

Went to a concert there recently they had plenty of bar space to deal with the crowd and awesome volume in the building

Chris Krock

Nice place for a convention beautiful view... but freezing cold. Handy for parking and going for meals or shopping. Very central and lots of room. Very pretty

Jill

Such a great place for events! It's in a great place downtown. There are many places for food in the area. The convention center has a unique design and is really big and impressive. Hopefully I get to come here again one day.

Howard Batchelor

24/7 shelter, kudos to staff for frontline services. ????☺️ Stef

It's a amazing idea right now for having the homeless and less fortunate stay there at times like now during this pandemic.

Geoffrey Bishop

Had an awesome time!!

Stella Reid

Animethon moved here from MacEwan this year and I love the new location! The air conditioning was amazing in 30+ weather, and there was tons of room for all the events. :) The building itself is gorgeous with a nice view of the river valley!

Steve Noel

Really great location for numerous events. The facility itself is nicely maintained and decorated, especially with the indoor waterfall. It was extremely convenient to move around the place with the escalators and elevators, along with having enough space to accommodate large groups of people for big events. The only downfall of this place is that it’s downtown and the drive can be quite hectic especially when a big convention is going down.. parking can also be quite expensive and annoying.

Rayden Gilroy

Currently doing renos so getting in was a bit of a pain but the venue itself was great! A great live show was put on, appreciate that they put some seating, which was unavailable last time there. Staff friendly and helpful if needed. There is no smoking area like their used to be and no re entry so if you're a smoker make sure you do that before going in.

Awesome place to be. When be homeless in Edmonton...

Great set up for concerts. Easy access to bathrooms. Drink lines move smooth. Always enough room you don't feel crushed. High roof for sick light shows and pyro.

Leanne Klimek

Went to the venitian ball. It was a lot of fun. The drinks were price point on clubbing but o well. Met some great new people. And to top it off had fun wearing a black mask all night. Also had live entertainment in between tables (plus a …

Went for International Beer Festival 2019. Only issue was the washroom capacity was insufficient. There were consistent long lines for both genders and the gender neutral washrooms were interesting. The security guard in the gender neutral washroom was a really cool guy and kept the washroom running smooth (some people weren't as cool with gender neutral washrooms as they thought they were.)

Due to recent medical issues I had to attend an event in a wheelchair (Slash with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators) July 20, 2019. Upon arrival, security came and helped open more doors for us when they saw my boyfriend struggle to get my wheelchair through the small door openings, as the crowd poured in around us. They escorted us down in the elevator and made sure we got through the elevator fine and to will call to get our passes. I was glad to see they have an accessable seating ramp and platform to watch the show from, I just wish it was closer to the stage and raised a bit higher so we could see better and take better pictures. It wasn't bad, but people's heads were still in our way. We had aftershow passes. When it came time to leave, there was no security to assist us. We were having troubles exiting the building. Finally someone who was leaving, stopped and radioed security who came up and helped us. Thank God. It was scary, we didn't know how we'd get out of the building otherwise. There should be someone upstairs, or a phone to call someone for help as long as the public is in the building. And that person should know how to pull the doors open wider for wheelchairs, scooters etc. Here's our view from Accessible Seating.

Nolan Dyck

Great venue. Presently used for housing the homeless. Elevator and wheel chair accessible.

Brian Paulson

the venue was ok lots of room between the aisles had a coat check which is nice. I thought it was a little dark and the little select of beverages and snacks were outrageously expensive.

Joseph Dittrich

Amazing facilities. Their conference rooms are massive. They help vendors with trade show setup. They have an amazing greenhouse spanning 2 floors and elevators/escalators to let you descend and enjoy the view. They love Segways

The Edmonton Convention Centre doesn’t get nearly as much credit as it deserves; not only for the prompt and friendly service their team provides, or their excellence in the quality of their physical/tangible product like the exquisite meals the chef and his team pump out so effortlessly - or the people who maintain their spaces and ensure the quality aesthetics are always presentable. What I’m talking about is the credit they deserve for their world class innovation that building boasts and has done so for years. For 20 or more years now, this convention has been a leader in sustainability - look it up, it’s quite fascinating. Also I admire how much they do for the city of Edmonton and all the folks that live here. Edmonton wouldn’t be the same without this marvelous facility.

Rayne-Anne Latchford Oosterveld

I've been to a few events here and had a blast each time! It's a nice facility although the construction has been taking forever

Siren Rei

One of the best places to experience the loud thump of the beat pounding through your body shaking your insides like a classic rock concert should!!.

Patrick McCaw

Clean beautiful facility downtown. Went for festival of trees but there seems to always be something going on there. There is a wheelchair accessible elevator available. There are also stairs and escalators. Bathrooms were clean and stocked, and the building in general was tidy and easy to navigate.

Andrew Richards

It's a good place for events but right now it's being used for people infected with covid

Helena B

Nice place for concerts. Has multiple function rooms which can be modified to suit expected number of guests.

Glenn Couillard

Great place

Reshane Francis

Great it's a beautiful location. I was there for Animeathon it was so much fun

We held our wedding here in the Riverview Room of the ECC last month and were very happy with our venue choice! All the staff, from our event manager, chefs, banquet managers, bar and wait staff, were so accommodating, friendly and professional. We can't thank them enough for the top notch service, walking us through the extensive planning phase and making sure everything was done within our budget and timelines. The proximity to the river valley is also great for photos. Would highly recommend!

Johnny5

Was here for a graduation ceremony. The biggest issue was with how the tables are selected to go up to the buffet. Tables with small children, elderly, and disabled were not prioritized. Bread was brought to the table once you get food... Not before .. How does that make sense. Especially after waiting 15 minutes to get food. Facilities and venue it's self was excellent and parking was really easy at Canada place.

Andrea Ottoni

This is a great place to have a corporate convention or a big party like wedding reception. The ambience and decorations were gorgeous. The river Valley view from Hall D was fantastic.

Mercedes Baxter

Massively large with many meeting rooms of all sizes and easily accommodate 3000 people. 4-5 floors and fabulous view looking out on an extensive ravine like area. Convenient location in downtown, however very limited parking.

Brian Speck

Good shows. Try to stay close to the front, the sound in the back isn't the greatest

Tyler Wiechert

I was at the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast and as usual, the facility was great. The breakfast was delicious, especially the sausages. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent venue for events.

Irene T

Massively large with many meeting rooms of all sizes and easily accommodate 3000 people. 4-5 floors and fabulous view looking out on an extensive ravine like area. Convenient location in downtown, however very limited parking.

Bill Clark

Had alot of fun at the festival of trees. Trees were beautiful and the children's booth were great for my daughter and nephew

Daniel Montenegro

Spacious place for functions and in construction yet.

Nicole Bunny

Usually very clean and well managed. Easy train links help to get in and out conveniently.

Jacqueline Livingstone

Management cannot even handle running a coat check. Be prepared to wait in line 30 min before last call and still not be able to use your last drink tickets when the slow moving bartenders disappear for most of that. I have been to good shows here but have never had anything but problems with the venue.

Larry Fretz

Since I was here while the building began this is a work in progress with unlimited potential if the right investors find the insurance to back them with highly altitude gravity pull type climbing equipment etc, only a possibility I was wondering what the first bid is since I do not know who owned this I am Edward Bruce Law.

R dc

I have been here several times and it's always a pleasure!! Also really cool building design and amazing view of the river

Hasan Badran

Great venue Photos of In this Moment Great Show

Ryan Brown

The overall experience of the event was amazing! The food was delicious and the service was great for such a large space. The only thing missing was refills on the water, but overall an awesome venue.

Ray Z

This conevention centre is very spacious and has a few floors. Halls are very spacious and they are also renovating the roof tops with solar energy rooftops/tiles which is pretty good.

Claudio Cividino

Great venue for Animethon 25!

Emily

The Centre is very nice. I have gone here for both a grad convocation and banquet as well as a boxing match. Both were done very well with the seating and decorating. I had no problems with the staff either. I also found their facility to be very easy to maneuver even though I had a broken foot. The elevator and escalator were both available making it easy on me to get where I needed. Parking is downtown so can be pricey and the driving down there is a pain. But otherwise it's a nice location.

Arnold D'souza

I've been there for the Break Forth One conference and I love it. One thing was really annoying thought, in the conference rooms you can listen to the other conference rooms, which is detracting.

Bryce Dafoe

Have gone to some pretty awesome concerts here. The acoustics are great and the PA pumps out sound thats audibly satisfying and not overly distorted or muffled like some other venues. Has bleachers on the sides at most concerts so you can sit down or stand. They should host more shows here.

Jonathan Janveaux

Great space to have professional meetings and events. Halls A & C are large beautiful spaces. For some reason the air-conditioning has not worked a lot which can make larger farthings a bit hot. I'm not sure if the the rentals management forgets to make sure it's on or if it's actually a air conditioning issue. But otherwise the Shaw is beautiful and full of greenery with a great view of Edmonton in all its Edmonton -bread.

Heather Farnsworth (MakioKuta)

Nice place. Have been to several events here and they always seem to run smoothly. Washrooms always nice and clean.

GG

Escalators were out of service many times through the conference, which was frustrating but other than that it was great. Delicious food, nice staff, spacious conference rooms!

Christian Okwudiwa

K the concept they have does help get many people off the streets, but it's not 24/7 access, and you could be standing outside all night or day long to get in... And the food sucks.. like the homeless deserve good meals, and food that tastes good just like everyone else. Animals get fed better then some of the food they hand out... And are very selective of who they allow in... And staff helps themselves to people's personal belongings. Which shouldn't happen, when the homeless are getting stolen from by so called staff members.

Viktoriia Prudius

Lots of really helpful people taking care of all

Jordan Zunti

Went to a company holiday party... Most of the escalators are under construction. We parked in behind, and couldn't get out any of the doors to get back out to our vehicle. The food and service was great!

Brent Spurrell

Super artistic and pretty difficult to navigate especially for first timers

Nice place for a convention beautiful view... but freezing cold. Handy for parking and going for meals or shopping. Very central and lots of room. Very pretty

Kristiena Bobocel

Have attended many events here. Always enjoy this place. Happy after MANY years that the escalators are FINALLY fixed...

DamanJeet Bal

Attended a family members wedding, the environment and service was excellent. The servers were great about allergies and inspected the food with special plates they kept separate. They explained ingredients in the dish and promptly brought anything the guests desired, they were always nearby. The kids got tons of fun treats and surprises. A great experience that seemed highly accomodating and organized.

shaun kenny

Spacious venue that accommodates all sorts of exciting events in Edmonton! I've attended rock shows, massive rave parties, winefests, banquets and business conferences, all hosted at ECC and I've always enjoyed the experience. The facilities are maintained well and professional staff are always present. The location is great, being right downtown and is easily accessible.

Adrian Robinson

It was really nice, clean, staff was friendly. Great security.beautiful scenery. Parking was expensive, not alot of areas to park that we scene anyways

I love the plants ! Can we get a nice workout climbing all those stairs ! The parking underneath Canada Place and the tunnel that leads us in there is a real added Plus . Parking at Louise McKinney Park is great also adjoining the river valley. ????️????

Gunner

Its works very well in offline too..thank you

C Z

The building looks great inside. Attended a job fair there and everything was normal. Nothing spectacular except for maybe the architecture design. Two things I didn't like was the lack of parking and how it's designed which can make it difficult for people trying to park or leave. Another thing that bothered me was the escalator was broken going up and it always seems to be from asking around, which means you'll have to climb very many stairs to leave through the upstairs entrance which leads to the paid parking.

Carlos Augusto

Went to Get together there, quick and nice security. Clean up staff was amazing too. Definately a great place to have an event.

Shamas Arshad

Great place for a wedding reception.

Ethan Sears

Aside from never having the escalator open for people at metal shows. I will be it, they kindly did it at slayer, and it was a relief. What I had to explain to the staff that night shouldn't have happened. I was standing in LINE (what else is new?) For food and witnessed a staff member drop a hot dog paper holder on the floor, pick it up and put it beside all the others ready to load with a bun. I jumped right out of line told her to grab it and toss it in the garbage. They should have whiped the counter down too, but they didn't. That little piece of paper probably cost a half a penny. Have a talk with your staff about hygiene please. Metal heads care too. Oh and the taco in a bags are wicked awesome. We have them here in Red Deer. Here's a tip, don't open the bag the classic way. It was too hard to eat. You guys need to split the side open, makes it so much better :) ????

Travis Grant

Sprawling place. Felt bad for the homeless folk, many of whom seemed to have mental issues. They didn't look like hypes, just malnourished and very underdressed for the climate. There were also some youth that appeared to have taken to the street. Not very safe feeling with the young people as they moved like wildlings carrying short sticks and such, very boisterous until they saw local law. Sadly the epidemic is global and these are spaces that will bear these issues.

Christian Pommer

Always love coming down here for the Festival of Trees! It is truly a magical holiday experience! Great for kids and adults alike with stunning decorated trees, wreaths, fireplace mantles, and gingerbread houses! (Plus live performances!) Lots of activities for the little ones too (hockey shootout, kids-only gift shopping area, writing letters to santa, story time, mini tree decorating, and cookie decorating!) Super affordable for what you get to experience...and it all goes towards the University of Alberta Hospital!

Blaire D

Amazing place

Lujia Cai

Decent venue for a concert as long as it's an 18+ event. They didn't give people a smoking pit last time I was there though. So lots more people smoking inside which I really didn't appreciate. They need to give smokers somewhere to go so the rest of the guest can enjoy the concert without all the cigarette smoke.

kelly jonasson

Hall D is a very grand space for your event! The catering s always great!

Sidd SS

During the cold they should let you in to be warm give more copacity for people on the streets to get in get warm and eat but no the workers leave you standing out in the cold freezing ... You can be standing outside 5-6 hours before you get in by then you can't feel your feet frost bite and you don't get fed

Marc Hugman

The water taste fowl.

Lynne Nicholson

Had an awesome experience at the Edmonton Wine Fest 2019

Tejinder Singh

What a great place for a venue like this. Shinedown2019#yeg

NF concert was amazing at this venue. Security did a great job with a tonne of people!

Alex L

Nice place the help staff was around with treats , not the most smiling group of kids.was nice to have a large outside area to hang out good design

Shane W

Was here for the Red Bull Crashed Ice event. Nice, clean, and the view of the river valley is awesome. Thanks to Hyundai Canada for the invite.

Nelly Beans

Was there for the children's wish foundation gala recently. It's a nice venue, the escalator going down to it for the second floor down was under repair but there's an elevator. The bathrooms are pretty nice with lots of stalls and areas to wash up/ touch up.

Frankie Talbot

Went to a company holiday party... Most of the escalators are under construction. We parked in behind, and couldn't get out any of the doors to get back out to our vehicle. The food and service was great!

Grace O'Neil

Good place for concerts

Ayla Lenz

Nice setup for a metal show with the bleachers out. Lots of beer vendors which was great, the lines never got too long. Sound was better than expected for such a large venue. Overall, very good concert experience.

Trevor Prosser

These guys are fantastic! I went there for a conference. The food was good for catering over 1200 people! The staff were helpful and knowledgeable. I left a bag behind. I called them and they not only found it but mailed it to me! Great people! BUT! Why doesn't the SHAW CONFERENCE CENTRE have SHAW GO WI-FI ACCESS???? That is ridiculous if you ask me! That is the only thing preventing me from giving 5 stars.

Charles Chille

A lot of the events here are pretty fun. I find for the most part that there are a lot of things that the event coordinators do not take into consideration. I went to festival of trees with my family (like a lot of people). They had to cart us and all the other families with strollers around the entire building simply because there elevators were at capacity and could not fit any strollers in them. This is just one example over years of attending events there. I go to this location simply because that is where the event that I want to attend is being held. I do not actively seek it out as a viable venue.

Melissa Jensen

RJ Pecina

Nice and spacious place for any events. Very well managed and has got cooperating staff.

Mike Blackmore

A venue for concerts and conventions only. Not a tourist attraction. Just adequate for its purpose. The concert was great though.

Trudy Cattleman

Great place to go for an event! Totally accessible for everyone. It has a beautiful view.

Mike Morton

I like the architecture of this place, its location, and its place in the history of Edmonton's downtown core. I've seen punk and rock & roll shows here, my high school grad was here, I've attended parties and galas here. There are a lot of memories, recent and distant, and they're all positive.

Aaron W

Wasn't to bad today but some days can get a little out of hand right now with the shelter in there and all

K H

Went to Die Antwoord. Felt lost getting around shaw conference. I have not been there since 20 years ago so i left a 5 star for not being fully aware of the layout and because Die aNtWoOrD is the s**t. I did find a map but after going to the show i think it was generic

Brock Parisien

Nice and very spacious place. Good air quality. Clean environment. Warm administrative staff. Canada place underground parkade leads directly to the centre without getting outdoors. This is such a bonus, especially in winter. I give it 5 stars.

Aaron J. JacksonCrabb

Its great to see the City putting this space to good use for homeless and hungry. No showers or laundry available today, but lots of people staying warm and getting a hot meal. Thanks for that.

James Sullivan

This is my LEAST favourite place to go to for concerts. Staff are incredibly unorganized and repeatedly unprepared to deal with mass amounts of people and early lineups. Twice I've been here, they've moved the line to weird crammed places, and the last time I was here they locked the line outside in the freezing cold. They don't seem to know how to direct people to coat check without moving the entire line. There's no direction and no organization. The Shaw would be a decent concert venue if any of the staff knew what they were doing.

Lisa Le

Put a crosswalk or a accessible entrance that doesnt involve 4 sets of terrible stairs from the Louise McKinney parking lot. Staff is wonderful! Building is clean and nice! Spacious! Happy our animethon moved here. Nice view too.

Sarb Khatra

Pretty nice!

Panda Claws

Excellent location for viewing the river valley, Louise Mckinney park or attending an event.

Brendan Bass

Spacious, well designed, with parking space and beautiful view of the landscape from back of the building, where the convention hall opens out onto a big open patio. Accessible from downtown, lots of restobars and pubs around, with multiple hotels at walking distance. The Edmonton City Centre is also located at a walking distance from here.

Barbara Rahal

Iconic events and meeting place in the Edmonton river valley. I been to some events here over the years and have always enjoyed this place. I remember when it was a massive hole in the side of the hill so the size of the place is …

Brandon Elias1

I agree with William... The stairs going all of the way up is a great workout... But after the Zipline at the Grey Cup Festival, I took the escalators up with that heavy harness gear attached to my back. What a great place with nice ballrooms and a great view of the North Saskatchewan River ????

Jonathan Wharton

This conevention centre is very spacious and has a few floors. Halls are very spacious and they are also renovating the roof tops with solar energy rooftops/tiles which is pretty good.

Coach Tejeda

Excellent venue with plenty of space, great views and a water feature right near the main staircase. The friendly staff made the whole experience that much better.

Kirk Dewhurst

Very nice building to hold an event in. Good facilities and stunning contemporary architecture. Great views of the North Saskatchewan river. Easy to access in downtown Edmonton.

Cody Winters

The Shaw Conference centre is a gorgeous river valley venue and the staff are lovely to deal with. I would happily attend any convention or concert put on at this venue. The only downside is a lack of cheap parking nearby, but that is to be expected of most downtown locations.

Karina Scheers (TheFitNinjas)

Great venue. Spacious and very friendly helpful staff. The elevator is really slow though. When we attended Festival of Trees with my 1 year old still using a stroller, the staff directed us to use the freight elevator to get to the event. I thought that was nice of them.

Michael Brian Provencher

It's awesome if you want Wi-Fi that doesn't work and staff that don't reduce the volume on radios or find alternate ways to push carts that squeak or rattle with cups and plates on when event attendees are around! Argh.

Andrew Dennison

Was just there for four days for the CPA conference and was not impressed with the overall guest experience. I liked the close proximity to downtown hotels, and there is a nice view while going down escalators. Also there was good acoustics in main ball room during the key note speakers. Cons: Acoustics in meeting rooms was horrible, we could barely hear the speaker in our room due to the two speakers on each side of us. Food servers had no idea what they were doing. Escalators were not always working and you were forced to walk between floors as there was only one elevator for the whole building. The food was good but the servers were a disaster especially when it came to allergies. For our opening lunch, we had a lady at our table that was highly allergic to seafood. The lunch that day was salmon. When she told the server about her allergy, his response was "so you are ok with the salmon then". By the time she finally got her replacement meal everyone at the table had finished their desserts. When she asked the server what her replacement meal was her response was "I don't know, I was just told to bring this to you". She was then too scared to eat what they had brought her and ended up only having a salad and bread. During all of the meals you had to constantly ask for coffee, tea and water along with cream and milk as they only provided those small individual creamers. At one point the server wasn't paying attention and topped up my tea with coffee even though the teabag was still in the cup as I had just asked for more hot water. The worst was at the closing lunch. I was sitting beside the same woman and once again she explained she was severely allergic to seafood and ask them to confirm that there was no fish oil or any fish products used in the beef stir-fry for lunch. After approximately 30 mins our server finally came out and said yes the meal was safe for her to eat. But the other server that was topping up our coffee and water at our table told her not to trust the kitchen as she has seem them cross containment food all the time and that the chefs do not care. At which point my colleague was then scared to eat her meal as she did not know who to believe. Not sure what was happening, but it was as if no one cared nor was in charge. Never mind the fact that someone dropped numerous items during the speeches and such that everyone in entire ballroom could hear the noise across the room. Based on this, if asked to attend another conference in Edmonton I will be hesitate to register based on the overall guest experience.

Joanna Kamon

I enjoy the free meals and I will never stop being an advocate for those who are poor and have lost everything it is where my heart is at so...

Kristine “Charis” Lee

Canada Place underground parking provides convenient dry and warm to compliment your visit. The food was spectacular! The view of the river valley amazing! Service provided during our event that we attended compliments of TD was second to none! A tremendous experience!

Strangest layout for an indoor concert I've ever seen. Both the licensed area and seating section were very far from the stage. Drinks selection was poor, and food was unappealing. Sound for the show was very good however!

Krish Purohit

Beautiful venue, especially the big room overlooking the river! The plants at the top are a nice addition, and the outside decks are great too. The dinner they provided for my high school's graduation was a bit dry and bland, especially given the expensive price and booking but oh well.

Kandace Williams

We had our June 2017 wedding at the Shaw. The Riverview Room was everything we wanted and the Shaw made our dreams come true! It is a beautiful room that showcases Edmonton’s stunning river valley with floor to ceiling windows, and a patio with gorgeous flowers and a view that made for a perfect ceremony backdrop. The staff at the Shaw from start to finish was incredibly easy to work with from start to finish. From multiple meetings to answer our questions and discuss our visions to the incredible meal tasting, our expectations were met and exceeded. Throughout the wedding, we were frequently but discreetly met with to ensure we were satisfied. Even our Sales and Client Service Manager (Mandy) was there to ensure things were moving smoothly. We felt so taken care of which made it even easier to relax and enjoy the big day. Thank you, SCC!!

IAN SHAUN SUPROVICH (Toad)

Went here for a concert, I was surprised by the venue but definitely in a pleasant way. Great space, wish the stage was higher so when we were standing more people could see. But was very organized and clean and pleasant staff.

Chana MacDonald

Jason Hill

By far the greatest place in the city to hold a big event, the staff are absolutely stellar and will make sure everything goes smoothly. The decor is amazing and halls are huge!! The chef serge is amazing and his kitchen staff never fail to amaze!!

Stephen Reimer

Great place to work for the homeless.

Kristine “Charis” Lee

Loud but a place to stay safe warm

Erin Lampreau

Great place! 2020 housing forecast, contact me if making a move this year!

Daniel Montenegro

I was assaulted by a (tall female red head with glasses) guard there while I was leaving a concert. Literally did nothing to provoke it. I was leaving and was even sober. I was pushed from behind because apparently I was in her way in an open space.

Tanvir Ahmed

Awesome spread of neatly decorated xmas trees. Lots of fun activities for kids to do. Good way to kill a few hours, and get into the xmas spirit!!!

KING trevor

I'm attending the International Panel Climate Change conference on cities. Great facility and good food. Easy public transportation options if one doesn't park here.

Evan Hoke

This is a nice facility, great for large crowds. Enjoyed the buffet, food was tasty and fresh. Could benefit with more vernaculars to get guests to their respective venues but a good experience. ????

Bruce Rout

One of the best concert halls I've been in for audio. Although the stairs to get in the venue is a lot. Very safe to as they have high security... higher then some airports lol.

Angie T.

Animethon 25 was here this week, and the venue was pretty good. Some rooms were too warm, but lots of water was made available to us. Bathroom facilities were top notch. Staff were very friendly to us.

Ferdinand Aguillon

Was there for the SACE gala. It's a nice location for big events. The food is good.

Carlos Rosa

Great convention centre with so much space to share. I went for the women's boxing and was pleased, as a woman myself, that the washrooms have been renovated and have quite a few stalls. Thank you. I wish the vending machines had more choices since there is nothing to purchase if you don't have the meal (like yesterday) and the machines had lots of the same items. However, the view are amazing and nothing beats the river valley at sunset.

Veronica McRae

This building is so unique in design. I have been to several conventions here and always enjoy myself. The location makes parking a bit of a pain, but there are paid parking lots nearby. I find taking transit here to be much less of a hassle.

Sheena Kat

Pretty good experience, very limited food options. The staff seemed very uninterested, but lost and found was extremely customer service oriented. Great that the pedway connects downtown without having to go outside during the winter. Definitely needs better parking options. The audio could definitely use some audio techs to elevate the overall experience for the guests.

Came here for a Tenacious D concert and it was incredible! Not only were the D amazing but the venue is just caked in atmosphere. The lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling in the basement stage were a beautiful touch. Also the way the audience was set up was genius, with people in front of the stage and bleachers on the sides. One last note on the concert, the volume wasn't killer loud and my ears weren't ringing at all, a nice change from typically overblown shows. Only negative I have is the crowd management on the way to the stage. They weaved about 10,000 people throughout the building and down stairs a few floors, there were doors right by the stage we could have used but I'm sure they might have had a reason not to use them but it still seemed odd at least.

Conference Ctr is 1st class. Shaw put on a concert with Kim Mitchell, Trooper & Loverboy...too bad Trooper & Loverboy showed up! Egos exceed their performance... too bad they did not simply focus on playing what the audience wanted to hear except for a song or two at the end!!! Mitchell was great!!!

Delicious food during Arbonne conference

The Edmonton Convention Cetnre is currently home to a good number of homeless people. A conglomeration of humanitarian groups, security force teams, professional designates and volunteers are providing laundry, shower, meal, overnight and harm reduction services, medical care and councilor services, clothing supply closet, etcetera. Meals are provided by The Conference Centre's own team of chefs, including fresh coffee and water between meal intervals, in the main hall; while harm reduction & day-sleep rest services are housed in the secondary hall throughout the day, and finally overnight accommodation in the third hall successively. Humanity seems to be: from a standpoint of spectrum-like contrast and complexity: well represented in the varying walks of life under one roof here: ranging from social stratification sufferers to the physically, mentally or economically challenged/motivated, individuals involved in suffrage stemming from substance abuse, physical/mental/emotional abuse or peer coercion, etcetera, the skilled, experienced, talented, spiritually/benevolently/professionally motivated individuals in all sectors respectively, verily and honourably! The execution of effective, solution based initiatives with notable successes that not only deserve award and acknowledgement, but use as compelling doctrine for affecting key strategy, progressively and dynamically solving issues during extraordinary situations and the management of social duress throughout. Impressive juggling act of handling efficiency, effectiveness, and the efforts involved in this instance technically does not do proper justice in quantifying the magnitude of humanitarian achievements effected herein! Awesomeness achieved... amen!

We attended the Edmonton Opera Valentine Gala. It was a most enjoyable experience even though there was scaffolding everywhere when we entered the centre. It was like a post apocalyptic b-grade movie set coming down on the escalator. We were greeted with complimentary champagne service and a couple of photo booths. The were a few interesting costumes from recent operatic performances. Thanks for making this available for view. Dinner was a most enjoyable and delicious experience. The entertainment presented was a total delight. Thanks again for having us.

Homelssnes just freaks me out

Beautiful space! Not the best for weekend events where tickets are sold. I think it’s a great venue for weekday events where the downtown people can access it easily. But parking is not great unless you want to pay. But underground parking in warm!

Channel 33 with Spongie

Went for a conference. There are only a few food options close by on the weekends, make sure you plan your meals! The conference centre itself is quite nice, Ive been several times and always enjoy the experience.

Walter Andreeff

Great venue with great acoustics. The 4 course meal was amazing. We were close to 2 of the stages but not the main one.

Danny Harms

What a nice venue for any trade shows. There was even parking just across the road for a reasonable rate. Right next to the beautiful River Valley.

Tina durocher

One of the first places I visited in Edmonton. If only just for the indoor waterfalls and plants. This place was awesome.

Gerry Del Frari

The place is huge! There are lots of Conference rooms for work related functions! You can have many different functions happening at the same time! There is lots of interesting artwork, trees and vegetation with a great view of the river valley! It is fully wheelchair accessible and welcomes service animals!

Parag Ghate

Attended the Health and Welness Expo and I'm disappointed as there is only 1 exhibit Venofye that is interesting.

Elizabeth Bagnall

Went to see a concert. Great sound. Had a blast!!! Alcohol is a little cheaper than the bigger venues. More area to dance. Shout out to "The Bear" 100.3 Edmonton for the great Show.

Lori Lynn

Went to a concert there recently they had plenty of bar space to deal with the crowd and awesome volume in the building

DEVO84

Just attended Paul Kane High School Grad of 2019. It is a very nice venue and the cleanliness is top notch. The banquet had approximately 1700 guests. Everything went as planned and the food was excellent. Kudos to the brigade of servers and the kitchen staff and the restrooms attendants... Job well done!

dave fletcher

The overall experience of the event was amazing! The food was delicious and the service was great for such a large space. The only thing missing was refills on the water, but overall an awesome venue.

Damon Eckart

The Shaw Conference centre is a gorgeous river valley venue and the staff are lovely to deal with. I would happily attend any convention or concert put on at this venue. The only downside is a lack of cheap parking nearby, but that is to be expected of most downtown locations.

Mat Fehr

Huge convention area kept up to date in these covid 19 times inner city uses the facility to house less unfortunate people which is an awsome idea to keep them safe, warm and Fed

geronimo

Great day of speakers

Kat B.

Great venue to see Tony Robbins

Elliott Mah

Great venue with great acoustics. The 4 course meal was amazing. We were close to 2 of the stages but not the main one.

Andrew Russell

Beautiful views of the river, amazing banquet hall and wonderful service.

Jeevan Moom

It's been under construction for years. I wonder what the place is like when it's all done. Never seen it with all the escalators working, and those stairs can be killer. Been there for concerts, networking and educational, but they've really upgraded their concerts with added seating.

Sarah Tuininga

Went to Get together there, quick and nice security. Clean up staff was amazing too. Definately a great place to have an event.

Kuldeep Wadhawan

It was a great place for holding a great event (PLLC)! Food service was great.

Carrie Chang

Always well laid out for any convention and conference I've attended and the staff and food is amazing!

Betty Baronic

Had a conference here and it was nice. The large room we were in had a stage and was well ventilated. The only issue was that the washrooms are never enough especially when there is a break in session and everyone is going at once. But that is to be expected. It’s a lovely building! Expect to climb some stairs as a good workout if you are on the lower floor.

Trisha Nigano

Best place in Edmonton for any type of event! I have gone to graduations, job fairs, beers and wine fest, and raves. And I always have an amazing time!! Best sound system and lights for sure. I love going to the Edmonton Convention Center

ARCHANA KUMARI

Incredible space for all types of trade shows.i have visited multiple times and always enjoy my time there. The only key missing thing would be some healthy food options on their food court. I have participated myself in events and tradeshows and the staff is friendly and they know how to turn around spaces fast. Very impressive.

A Fulcher

There have been a lot of improvements in the past couple of years when it comes to watching concerts at this venue. The beer garden is easier to get into once you have your wristband, lots of staff serving and selling tickets and actually handing you a can of beer instead of waiting for them to pour it in a glass. The biggest complaint is the height of the stage. The stage is far too low, unless you are 6 feet tall you can hardly see the show from the floor and not all shows have seating available. Raise the stage about 3 or 4 feet higher and we'll actually be able to see the band on stage.

Simone Kosik

Have been for many raves, and a weed expo, and animal expo. Extremely roomy area with easily accessible washrooms. Small downside is that there can be many stairs you have to walk, or you can take the slow and small elevator.

felix lee

My wife and I had our wedding and reception in the Riverview room of the Conference Centre. The staff were phenomenal to make the day seamless and worry free. Mandy and the rest of the team a big thank you to you! Highly recommended.

Jeanine Faltermeier

Enjoyed playing the Sunday afternoon poker tournament. It is a $60 rebuy starting with 10,000 chips. The $20 add-on gives you another 3 thousand chips. There were 73 entries this week. No luck this time but will be back.

Elle Que

Great set up for concerts. Easy access to bathrooms. Drink lines move smooth. Always enough room you don't feel crushed. High roof for sick light shows and pyro.

Mark Steiger

Perfect view of the city and river! Conference halls are big and spacious. The lift and the whole structure is amazingly engineered.

David pridding

Ladies, be careful of your shoe choice. Currently the escalators going down to all of the many floors are out of order as they are under construction. The conference centre has a modern front entrance and the view from the back patio of the river is beautiful. The conference room and bathrooms were clean. The escalators heading up from the lower floors have been completed and so are nice and new.

Rheymar Cabalu

Clean beautiful facility downtown. Went for festival of trees but there seems to always be something going on there. There is a wheelchair accessible elevator available. There are also stairs and escalators. Bathrooms were clean and stocked, and the building in general was tidy and easy to navigate.

Lucas Gutknecht

Incredible space for all types of trade shows.i have visited multiple times and always enjoy my time there. The only key missing thing would be some healthy food options on their food court. I have participated myself in events and tradeshows and the staff is friendly and they know how to turn around spaces fast. Very impressive.

Mandie Leigh

Great place for a wedding reception.

J G

Went to the Tenacious D show tonight. I get that weed is legal and I'm good with it but it was basically a hot box in there tonight. If you're not going to enforce it then at least allow re entry or a smoking area outside so everyone doesnt just light up inside like they did tonight. For someone that doesn't smoke it, it was pretty much unbearable. You need to come up with a plan now that it's legal. Not even the cops were enforcing the no smoking inside rule. I will not be attending concerts there anymore after this evening.

Natalie G

Putting the horrid parking aside, it's a fantastic venue. The staff are friendly and courteous, during events they ensure there is water out, which to me was one of the biggest surprises. I have no qualms with the building, just the concept of paying $48 for daily parking during an event is absurd and extorting good willed con goers. You're better to Uber or get dropped off to this event center, or car pool and split the parking.

felmax

Great facilities to hold GETCA!

Alex Crosland

The venue itself is good for conventions or trade shows. The experience is largely influenced by how well organized the tenants are. With a well organized event, the experience is smooth and frustration free. With a poorly organized event you end up standing in lines for 30 min just to get in.

Leah Scheelar

Recently renamed Edmonton convention center is a spacious venue with a view to beat. The look towards the south from the hill marvelous. The exhibition Hall is modular, flexible to different layout for different events. Plenty of meeting rooms at various levels. Staffing is professional. Everything works.

Michael Smith

Great facility. Busy installing solar panels at the moment. Friendly staff. Nice rooms for our conference. Food was delicious.

chris marson

the drinks are awful along with selection. since this review i had to edited it, it is worse. not only are the drinks bad you have to out a mix in to your drink. its bad for people who dont drink any mix in there drinks and only finding this out after you buy drink tickets. i have had it with this place last night is the last event i will ever attend here. i would give it no stars if i had the choice.

David Escobar

Great facility. Unusual that it follows the downward slope of the river valley.

Christopher Lui

This is located in heart of downtown good place for concerts parties wedding functions.catering is also available.insde is very spacious u can view from here good scenery .

kaylea diane

Spacious place for functions and in construction yet.

kaylea diane

Nice and spacious place for any events. Very well managed and has got cooperating staff.

Dana-Lee C

Went there for get together. It's a great venue for shows, with a big dancefloor but also had bleachers in the back if you want to sit. There are enough washrooms that there wasn't a line, and the bar lines moved quickly. Lineups to get in weren't bad, with security not taking much time at all. I'd definitely go back to see another show.

victor bhachu

Great Edmonton pictures

Dee E

Good service and staff. The building is relatively easy to navigate. Fantastic views of the rivervalley. Location is pretty close to pubic transportation. Free parking is limited and a bit of a ways away.

Fuwing Kong

Hosting many great events, most recently including Rocky Mountain Wine and Food festival. Excited to see the finished renovations. One complaint, I do not understand why most of the escalators aren’t running at the end of the event to help people exit the building??!

Olisa Segun

Excellent place for public gathering.

Patrick Michalko

We did our work Christmas party here and I was blown away by the setup and venue. We booked Hall D and the minute I walked in we were greeted by the most impressive decorating and friendly staff. I would highly recommend this place for your next Christmas party. Food, space and environment we're memorable.

Sean Sss

K the concept they have does help get many people off the streets, but it's not 24/7 access, and you could be standing outside all night or day long to get in... And the food sucks.. like the homeless deserve good meals, and food that tastes good just like everyone else. Animals get fed better then some of the food they hand out... And are very selective of who they allow in... And staff helps themselves to people's personal belongings. Which shouldn't happen, when the homeless are getting stolen from by so called staff members.

Kristiana Sinding

Excellent place for public gathering.

Michelle Stevens

Decent venue for a concert as long as it's an 18+ event. They didn't give people a smoking pit last time I was there though. So lots more people smoking inside which I really didn't appreciate. They need to give smokers somewhere to go so the rest of the guest can enjoy the concert without all the cigarette smoke.

Emily Jackson

By far the greatest place in the city to hold a big event, the staff are absolutely stellar and will make sure everything goes smoothly. The decor is amazing and halls are huge!! The chef serge is amazing and his kitchen staff never fail to amaze!!

Andrew Thomson

Great venue, but not enough facilities to accommodate massive amounts of people. Lineups were rediculus.

Stella E

Decent convention centre. They often host concerts here and there is plenty of space for them. It is a really nice building from an architectural standpoint but there are not enough washrooms inside. On the upside it has amazing views of the river valley.

Gail Johnson

Decent catering, but it felt like they struggled with the beverages. Fairly good AV setup for the presenters. WiFi did a good job of keeping up with the hundreds of users.

Mr Singh

Attended an event here. There is a ton of stairs but there is an elevator available. Although if it were busier, the elevator only fits a couple people so it could be lined up for a long time. Facility is clean and well organized. Several different sized ballrooms. Perfect for large gatherings. Parking is an issue with no solution. Pay parking wherever you can find it around the building on side streets and city pay parking lots.

Jenna Bain

Went for International Beer Festival 2019. Only issue was the washroom capacity was insufficient. There were consistent long lines for both genders and the gender neutral washrooms were interesting. The security guard in the gender neutral washroom was a really cool guy and kept the washroom running smooth (some people weren't as cool with gender neutral washrooms as they thought they were.)

Dan Poot

Me and my wife attended a concert here and it was exceptionally hosted at this venue

Ryan Decker

Excellent location for viewing the river valley, Louise Mckinney park or attending an event.

Ryan Brown

Tighter security than smaller venues so can't sneak in any crack but still had a good time

Michelle Guthrie

The Shaw Conference Center is a bit of an Edmonton staple, so it's a bit difficult to review. The building itself is in an excellent spot overlooking the river valley, and it's a fabulous event venue for concerts, grads and talks. It's also in a sketchy area of downtown and I sometimes feel unsafe waiting at the entrance, inside or outside, after events.

Irfan Ansari

This is a great location and facility for a convention. The staff is quick and very friendly. The food or fantastic. The signs located around the convention centre make finding session rooms and halls easy to find. My only complaint is that the bathrooms are not easy to get to and hard to find

Richard Jenkyns

The Edmonton convention centre is beautiful inside and outside. Very roomy and has a fair amount of security.

Calvin Allers

The ppl in staying there bunch of air heads

Cassie Friesen

I go here for Animethon. It's a pretty good location! Everything seems clean and the staff were kind and helpful, despite talking to a bunch of weirdos in costume. There's lots of rooms of various sizes, and the salons are great for panels and events. Overall, good for a decently sized convention.

Tyler Simonson

Went to KO 88 last night. Paid 1700.00 for a table which included a dinner. WELL had we known we’d have to carve our own Turkey and have iceberg lettuce with pine nuts for dinner we would not have gone. Who pays 220 a chair to CARVE THEIR OWN FOOD. Not even a complementary bottle of wine. Never again will I pay for table service. FOOD WAS TERRIBLE. Really out a damper on the evening. We took 26 ppl with us and not one of us was satisfied with the meal.

Christine Petric

Hall signage and directions are atrocious. All escalators were going downwards so if you went down an extra floor like I did because the signage was so poor, you had to schlep up 3 flights of stairs to get back up. Ballrooms and Halls were nice and modern. Sound , stage and technicians were excellent. Parking $10 after 5pm.

Melissa P

The Shaw hosted EyeCare Group to come in and help those in need.

Eric Decker

Great venue. Presently used for housing the homeless. Elevator and wheel chair accessible.
