I’m August my fiancé and I set out on a backcountry hiking/camping adventure with Marcin and Dorota to Lake Magog and take some pre wedding photos. Our goal was to capture some stunning shots of the beautiful Mount Assiniboine. The experience was unforgettable and absolutely priceless. Marcin and Dorota ensured that we were well taken care of throughout our 4 day trip with them. They made sure we were prepared and safe, yet, encouraged us to push our limits. In general; not a very good experience. Marcin in particular was miserable and rude on the day of the wedding. Upon entering our home, the first words out of his mouth were, "where is my money?" He continued with a miserable disposition throughout the rest of the day. It was mentioned to us during the consultation that they would come and scope out the site to ensure that they had an idea of where the best picture staging would be. They did not do this, and as a result there was disorganization on their part and no direction was offered for placement, position, etc. None of this would have mattered if the picture quality was outstanding, but it was not. Family pictures in particular look extremely amateur as there is no visual space around the individuals. This results in the inability to properly mat the photos for mounting. I would not recommend this pair for a wedding. They charge a premium price for an average product. The one bright spot was the sunny disposition of Dorota, who was pleasant and professional.

BDFK Photography is more than phenomenal. Not only do they know what they are doing, they helped motivate and push us to achieve our never forgetful moment of a proposal. Throughout our 11 hour endeavor of a hike, Marcin and Dorota made the hike easier for us and lended their hiking spikes and sticks. They helped us achieve something we would have given up on half way there. Working with them was a very fun lovely experience, their jokes brightened up our moods and allowed us to have fun through it all. They even demonstrated what type of poses we should do :) The pictures itself are as spectacular as the views, they even lured a chipmunk to be part of our photoshoot. Simply amazing, easy to deal with and outgoing, check them out yourself. Highly recommended

When we got engaged, my fiance Jeffand I wanted to do an engagement photoshoot to capture this magical time in our lives. Although we did the engagment photoshoot in the dead of Edmonton winter (December) BDKF photography made our experience so special and did not let the cold bother them (or us - we forgot it was winter). They brought props to help enhance the pictures and artistic edge and they even included our dog Mookie in some of the photographs. The video they made for us with a song of our choice with all of the photographs was a beautiful way for all of our friends and family to view the photos. We loved BDFK photography so much that we have hired them to capture our wedding and trash the dress in the Dominican Republic!!! Marcin & Dorota are excellent photographers, and we would highly recommend them. Taking photos with these two is just as much an experience as a service. We had so much fun hiking through the mountains to take the most stunning after-wedding photos. Marcin & Dorota went above and beyond to make sure we were able to capture the perfect shots, from helping with proper positioning, timing on perfect lighting, dress placement, and suggesting fun poses. We found that having two photographers was extremely valuable, because they would bounce ideas off of each other, plus there were several angles being shot at the same time from two different perspectives. Essentially, you are getting twice the service when you take photos with these two. And their prices are very reasonable. Honestly, they should be charging more for the high quality of service that they do. We felt very comfortable around Dorota & Marcin, and it was almost hard not to smile naturally around these two, since we were already laughing and having a great time. They are very flexible, and open to photograph in new locations. They also are excellent for communication, and will respond to any questions you have very quickly. We are so happy to have found them, and they made our after-wedding photo shoot in the mountains such a memorable experience. If you have the chance to take photos with these two, do not hesitate; just do it! It is definitely an experience you will not regret.

Marcin & Dorota are amazing! They go above and beyond in their quest for breathtaking photos. I interviewed several other photographers who offered us a two hour window at one location. Marcin & Dorota hiked with us to Peyto Lake for the ceremony and then we all drove to Lake Louise for photos and lunch, followed by more photos at Moraine Lake. They were committed to us for the entire day. We even had a sunset helicopter trip planned, but couldn’t fly due to a pop-up thunderstorm. They are such wonderful, fun people who have a true passion for photography. They will go out of their way (carrying the wedding gown, laying on the ground, crawling into bushes, etc.) to get the perfect shot. We are blown away by this pair and we are already planning another trip from Tennessee to Canada so they can take family photos for us. You will not be disappointed in BDFK Photography! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

But they made it so much better by just being there with us. We were origionally going to get married in Germany summer 2021, but postponed that until summer 2022. Wow. Where to begin? We can’t thank Marcin and Dorota enough for their amazing shots! We started off the day with strong winds, rain, and even snow! We were pretty bogged down about how the rest of the day would go, but their optimism gave us hope that the shots would still turn out beautiful. Lone and behold, the sun peeked out shortly after, and their excitement carried us throughout the rest of the day. We’ve never met anyone as passionate and energetic as this team. They had a creative chemistry but they were also open to our suggestions, which made the experience really enjoyable. Would gladly fly back and do it all over again with them! Highly recommend!!

It has taken me a while to write this review, mostly because there are so many wonderful things to say about our experience - I don't even know where to start! Dorota & Marcin met with us on zoom a couple of times before we chose a location for our first look and elopement hike. They were incredible with helping guide us to the perfect location for what we wanted to experience! When we met them at 3:00am, they greeted us with open arms, and we were all full of excitement! They came prepared, and offered us hiking poles. Coming from Ontario, and not having been in the mountains for many years, we both had forgotten about the tough terrain at the top of the mountains. Our night hike was full of laughs and talks about everything you can imagine. The conversation was easy, and we felt like we made new friends. They had planned our timing so that we had some extra time to get to the top for the sunrise just in case we were slow hikers, so the hike was a perfect pace for us. Once we got to the top, we enjoyed some snacks and they helped Mitch and I get ready in our wedding attire. It was definitely cold, but seeing the sun rise peak over the mountains was beyond incredible. Dorota and Marcin had packed extra coats that they had us wear on the breaks from the photos so we stayed warm. They had great pose ideas, and they made it so much fun! The hike was just as fun on the way down as it was on the way up, and seeing the scenery in the sunlight was breathtaking. We even made a couple of animal friends along the way. The photos turned out incredible, and the memories will last a lifetime! We are so grateful to have been able to experience working with Dorota and Marcin. We would absolutely recommend their elopement night hike to anyone up for an adventure!! Thank you so much Dorota and Marcin!!

The makeup was great and the pictures were much better then i ever expected. I do not take pictures of myself ever so i was very nervous to see how they would turn out. Me and my partner are from Ontario and planned our elopement in Alberta solely to be able to work with BDFK photography - it did not disappoint. I found them on Instagram and knew I wanted my wedding photos to shot by them. They responded very quickly to my inquiry and set up a facetime call to make sure they were the right fit for us before booking. I found their deposit and rescheduling policy to be very reasonable given the current circumstances with travelling/ restrictions. The day of our elopement we unfortunately had a smokey day from the ongoing forest fires however, Marcin and Dorota were able to be quick on their feet and provide a variety of suggested locations to take pictures at they felt could work with the conditions, but gave us the final say working around whatever we decided. They were great to spend the day with as easy going, fun people. Our friends and family have been obsessing over our photos and we couldn't be happy. The first thing that comes to mind after having Dorota and Marcin photograph our wedding is adventurous. I can't express it enough the things they'll endure to get good shots and the photos turn out amazing every time. 5 stars really isn't enough of a rating for these 2 as the work they do is incredible. Every single one of our photos is amazing and a lot of the times you don't even know they're right there getting those shots. They show incredible passion for their work and the photos they get speak for themselves. They are incredibly accommodating and they really know how to capture the moments of whatever the occasion is. I personally will not forget the sessions we have had with them and the places in the mountains that now mean that much more to my wife and I. Not only were they professional in their work but also remarkably friendly and fun. There isn't a single thing I would change about our photos and how they were taken. They can make any kind of scenery stand out even when the weather isn't cooperating, even then it was still an experience we won't ever forget. They quickly replied to any questions we had before our photoshoot date, which was especially important because we came from out of province. They were clear with their instructions, showed up on time, and it always felt like they had their own set of tips and tricks to get us past crowds and to the best spots. Not once did it feel like we were being rushed or pushed around by a crowd. While with them, it was like we were the only people around. We had the pleasure having Marcin and Dorota from BDFK Photograpy capture our special day. Now, almost a year later I can hardly remember all the details, but I can look back on the amazingly creative and well made photos and all the memories flood back in. Four days in the cold and wet weather, sleeping in a wet tent, changing in the windy cold multiple times per day, hiking up the mountains with the wedding dress and a suit, standing still while we wait for that perfect reflection in the lake waters. It was surreal, it was wonderful, it was challenging. But we walked away with a sense of achievement after doing something not many have done before, amazing photos and wonderful new friends. Our experience with Dorota and Marcin was better than we could have hoped for. They were great to communicate with leading up to our wedding, always responded to emails quickly and video chatted with us to finalize details in advance. They were both incredibly professional throughout our wedding day and yet so friendly and energetic. They made us laugh the whole day and eased some of our wedding day stress. I came upon B.D.F.K. Photography's Instagram page and at that moment I knew I wanted to do my prewedding photo session with them. I went on to their website and looked through their portfolio and I was sold. But of course, I had to do my homework before settling with a photographer. I shop around for other photographers who did similar shooting. BUT my mind and my heart was already set on B.D.F.K. due to their phenomenal portfolio. We reached out to Dorota & Marcin, they were super fast in replying. We set up a zoom meeting and discussed what kind of prewedding photoshoots we wanted. Dorota and Marcin also informed us on the gears that we need and to dress for the weather. Our day came and we met with Dorota and Marcin bright and early to start our hike up to our designated photoshoot spot. We were aiming for sunrise and it was breath taking. We got amazing shots by Dorota and Marcin. We showed the samples to some of our friends and family members and they did not believed a place like this exist in Canada. Besides being greater photographers, Dorota and Marcin are very sweet individuals. They made sure our safety comes first during the whole process and that we were warm the whole time. They even prepared tea for all of us to enjoy while watching the sunrise. It is for sure once in a life time experience. My fiancé and I would not have it any other way. They are an adventurous pair and accommodated our request to have our photos taken at the top of a mountain in Jasper! They were so positive and encouraging, guiding us through the entire process from the preparation for the hike, the photoshoot, to the very end of the descent down the mountain. Our photos look absolutely stunning! The team at B.D.F.K. Photography will take the time to capture unique moments (we got photos with a cute squirrel!)
