Great place for a birthday party if you have kids. You can rent the pool and the conference room for a very affordable price. Food and drink is optional you can also choose to bring your own. I would highly recommend a birthday party here. The only downside is there is no change rooms for the pool only a single occupant bathroom for both men and women. I do realize this is a hotel but I have been in hotels where there is a separate change room for the pool.

The room itself was perfect but checking in was a nightmare. The staff seemed confused. He had a hard time understanding our room was being paid by the company that's all but he made everything super complicated and called his managers and mine. I asked for towels and I got interviewed, the lady asked me my room number, who was paying for my room, the name the rooms under, when is my departure date, etc. I work at a hotel and none of that's essential at all for towels. Plus the shower had no middle, it was either ice cold or burning hot. I took a freezing shower after fiddling with the temperature for a good 20 minutes.

I got scammed when I booked my hotel room. I payed $40 more then going room rate per night. Tried talking to the front desk about the mess up.. just got told it was all my fault and nothing to do with them. They didnt care at all. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told they were busy running a personal errand. They weren't available to call. Therefore no management available. I would have to talk to them in the morning when I check out. The stay: the room feels cramped. The room was hot as heck. The temperature read 70°F/or 21°C but the A/C wouldnt kick in. This is a brand new hotel.. everything looks and feels cheap. For instance when I close the toilet seat it slammed, the cupboards looked cheaply put together. The elevator was scorching hot and moved and slammed against the wall when someone would step on and off of it. When I checked in.. the party room had a party going on. The yelling and screaming were so loud. Could hardly talk with the front desk. I left to go do my personal things and when I returned at night... the sign at the road was black. Not lit up. Couldn't see the entrance or the sign. (The hotel is recessed far off the main road). As I drove up, the whole parking lot and front entrance were dark. No lighting outside was working. The walls inside are thin and you can hear everything going on. This has got to be the worst hotel and worst hotel experience I've ever had in my life from a brand new hotel and espeacially one I paid $201/night for a standard room. 2 queens, non suite. I write this even before I have slept in the bed for the night. I will NEVER stay here or any other Microtel ever again. Avoid this hotel chain at all costs and go with other ones you know and trust! Oh... and Microtel... please dont respond with a "I'm sorry about your experience hopefully it will be better next time" response... cause youre not sorry, that was made VERY evident when I checked in.. and there wont BE a next time.

Nice hotel and recently renovated. It has everything that you might need such as a small and tiny gym, pool.

For the price this place is great. Biggest feature is how clean everything is. Rooms are well equipped and beds are cosy. Lastly staff are friendly.

My go-to hotel every time I visit Timmins. Very clean and modern hotel for very reasonable prices!

Kids had a blast at this birthday party

The receptionist at check in was very friendly and efficient. After driving 800kms to Timmins I went down at 7.30am and asked for a late check out since I had a meeting at 1pm...the receptionist on duty said she already had one late check out and so she could not let me stay any later then 11am which is the normal check out time. It's sad that this is a hotel used by construction crews who drive from so far yet there was no consideration from the receptionist. 5 minutes later I asked for tea for breakfast and since she was serving, she told me they ran out of tea bags......sounded like a joke! Was about to ask her why I should accept that but I just walked away disappointed. The room #302 is near the storage space for the cleaning crew so there was a lot of noise and one could clearly hear conversations on walkie talkie sets...not to mention the lift going up and down.Otherwise a beautiful scenic drive up from Orangeville
