Mama Mia was high energy with great voices. The new seats are comfortable but the way they are lined up in the balcony means that you see a lot of heads if there ks anything mid to front stage. It as if there wasn't enough height differences in the 1st 4 rows. Doesn't seem as bad if you move back further.

The renovated theatre is very inviting. I'm 6'6" tall and found the old seat configuration difficult to sit in. I enjoyed my first play in this new configuration in complete comfort.

Whether it's old classics or locally written plays, Neptune always puts on a great show. I'm very impressed with the different options of packages for season tickets. Between this and the occasional "pay what you can" nights, they help make theater available to wider audience. Even on the rare occasion that the play wasn't the best, the acting and overall experience is still awesome. No parking in available at this location so it's easiest to head for one of the down town parkades.

We had a wonderful time. I went in to buy my tickets yesterday to make sure my mother (who needed a wheelchair to go) and I had appropriate seats. They were incredibly helpful and made sure that I had nothing to worry about. When we arrived, my mother was greeted warmly by the staff and very well looked after. They offered to remove the theatre chair so that she had the option of remaining in her wheelchair if she would be more comfortable. She decided to sit in the theatre chair, but the moment the intermission lights came on, Neptune staff were waiting with her wheelchair for her. They were gracious and professional. The performance was amazing, the theatre was comfortable and very pretty. The available bar is a lovely addition to the space. We were very happy with our experience.

Great live theatre from Shakespeare to musicals. Interesting cocktails themed to each performance. Street parking is limited but there is plenty of parking down the street at the Metro Park.

Attended Neptune's production of the musical "Once" and it was very well done, so much talent on one stage. I have seen this musical on Broadway a few years ago so I was very interested to see how the two would compare, and I wasn't disappointed!

I just had a conversation with someone who expressed there's no better entertainment bang-for-the-buck for then going to see a movie but we quickly corrected ourselves and agreed that the best entertainment bang-for-the-buck is live theater at Neptune. World Class theater with a varied enough line up between the two stages so there's always something to catch your interest. The purchase experience seems a little bit antiquated. You can buy your tickets online but you are required to have a printout ready. You can buy a parking pass with your ticket package but then you have to go pick it up ahead of time. I've done this once but I don't know why. You might as well just go right to the parking garage as you normally would, their offer saves no effort or expense. If the event staff had a little more finesse and greater attention to service it would easily make this five star rating. My only regret is not going more often.

Such a wonderful performance and a beautiful venue. The staff? Extremely helpful. Excellent views of the stage. Spacious yet intimate with a tad more leg room than most theatres. I only wish I had time to see The Color Purple a second time!

The show was great, actors got the crowd going. My issue was they advertise no late entry but allowed 4 different groups in after they closed the doors and 2 of the groups had drinks from the bar. Other than that had a good time

This was my first experience with Neptune Theatre. Overall, I enjoyed myself, but I felt that the performance had several notable flaws. The choreography for the fights was so-so at best. Some of the humour was quite funny, while other jokes fell flat. The story was quite good in concept, but failed to deliver due to the quality of the acting. The effects used during the play were, however, excellent and very enjoyable. All in all, I was disappointed. I expected more, but I will give Neptune Theatre a chance in the future. If the productions are consistently of this quality, I'll stick to the Dartmouth Players, and recommend that my friends and family do the same.

We went to see a Christmas Carol in the Scotia theatre at Neptune. The venue was perfect for this play, the seats are a little on the smaller side but still quite comfortable. The play was wonderful. It was performed by one actor and a puppeteer with some interactive audience participation. Very entertaining!

Halifax is so very lucky to have the quality of theatre such as Neptune. The show that I went to last was, Mamma Mia. The professionalism and excellence of the actors was second to none, comparable, and on the same level as Broadway. 10 on a scale of 1-10. 10 being, totally engaging and excellent. We were there for Argyle Street Kitchen Party! Didn't know what to expect. We were not disappointed. All artists were talented and great. We did enjoy the show. This is small theater and it looks all seats will get a good view.

We attended the last performance of the Argyle Street Kitchen Party in the smaller intimate theatre space. Wonderful production, no bad seats and the talent was incredible. Lenny Gallant was guest artist And had the audience on their feet, singing and clapping. Last time we were in Halifax we saw CATS in the larger theatre. Will always check shows when we visit.

The Summit

This is for the main stage Fountain theatre. Great choice of plays. Bar with snacks. Drinks, snacks allowed in theatre. Great staff. Casual and friendly atmosphere . Two sets of clean washrooms. Coat room (unattended). You don't need to dress right up, but you can. Several pleasant, well appointed lounges. Bit expensive ($3.50 for a water, $9 glass of wine, $65+ tax for A+ seats). Seats a bit uncomfortable, but they're getting new luxury ones in June 2017. Overall a great place to spend an evening.

Neptune is a great way to spend a Saturday evening. Either nab dinner before or after and make a night of it. Typically they have great productions. They've increased seating in their main theatre (Fountain Hall), but at the expense of the center isle... at least the upper half of the center isle.

I just finished seeing Cinderella. There is a new director and I think he's really adding a modern touch... I've never seen this amount of effort from Neptune theater. I hope to see more like this.

Great to see MAMMA MIA has been extended again. This is one fabulous musical with the cast rivaling shows I have seen on Toronto, London and New York. Unbelievably gifted cast. So good and so much fun I went a second time. Might venture a third before it closes. Don’t miss it.

My daughter, granddaughter and I saw Mamma Mia in June and thought it was absolutely world class and thought no show could be better and then we saw Cinderella on Dec 8 and it was even better. We loved it, it was funny and loved the local references. I have seen shows in New York and Disney and Neptune is right up there. The actors and actresses were wonderful...loved Cinderella s voice loved when the Prince and Cinderella sang Ed Sheran.

Neptune Theatre is a gem of a theatre with good acoustics, comfortable seats, and helpful staff. It provides an intimate theatre experience with excellent entertainment for a reasonable price. It's also accessible which, for some, is important.

What a great theater, right in the heart of downtown Halifax! My daughter and I saw the production of "Salt-Water Moon" in February of 2018. We absolutely loved it! The theater probably holds about 250+ people, which is a great size. Dozens of restaurants and bars are all around the theater, so a bit to eat before or after the show is simple. I highly recommend the Netptune Theatre.

Our family went and saw Cinderella on Boxing Day and we had a fabulous time. It was so entertaining and full of belly laughs! Being from the UK it was very nostalgic for us. Our kids had a great time, our 14yr old son enjoyed much of the humor! The cast were fantastic and the set superb. Looking forward to seeing next year's panto. Bravo!

Top notch performances, actors and staff. I've been going to Neptune at least once a year for my whole life (usually for their holiday show). They've always provided a stellar show, with great effects, sets and soundtracks. Having been this past to the theatre, I can safely say the renovations they recently undertook were a good call. The new seats are more comfortable than the previous.

Been a few times and it's space is spacious. It presents good to excellent theatre productions. Presently, due to Covid restrictions, it seats at 50 % capacity and masks must be worn throughout the performances.

Went to see Alice in Panto Land - a bit disappointed as thought was going to be more like a British pantomime! Too many songs and story not very entertaining. Production, costumes and acting however was very professional. Venue great. Will go back to see something else. Have been in both large and small theatres. Enjoyed previous trips, would like to see more plays with great stories.

Went to see The Color Purple and it was a fantastic show. The actors and actresses put themselves into their part and brought you into that point in time. It truly is a MUST SEE! I took my 11 year old, and some parts are a bit PG, however, she was fine with the content. A great performance.

Simply put: you'd do yourself a disservice not to go to at least one Neptune show in your life. Always a good time and the variety of shows each season affords something for everyone! Staff are incredibly friendly and the recent renovation has this place firing on all cylinders now! The year I attended Doors Open Halifax, Neptune participated and offered behind-the-scenes tours - very cool and highly recommend if you get a chance!! They have pay-what-you-can nights as well to make theatre more accessible to all - a class move on their part, especially given the volume of university students in town. Your best value is to get a package or subscribe - they include a Club Neptune card that gets you discounts at nearby restaurants and sweetens the deal - great value!! Stop reading this and go see a show already :) You'll be glad you did!

Mama Mia!! If you have never seen a live theatre musical production, then this is one that you do not want to miss. And if you have seen a live theatre musical production, this is still one that you should not miss. It is a first class production. It's a sweet story with wonderful characters. The singing is excellent, the live (yes live!) band is smoking hot, the sound quality as good as it gets, the choreography thoughtfully visioned, and the cast is simply amazing. I am spreading the word to my friends and family to tell them all that Mama Mia is a must see musical. The entire audience and cast were on our feet clapping and singing. I have been to a lot of entertainment venues but, I have never been to one like this where after the play was over, ALL theatre goers were walking out smiling and elated. To everyone involved in the production and to all of the Neptune Theatre staff, thank you for a most wonderful evening.

Full disclosure, I basically went to see my daughter in the production. That being written, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The cast was great and the production well performed. The sound mix was muddy sometimes and crystal clear at others. Also, I used to think the cheek mics were distracting, they've got nothing on how distracting the forehead mics are. Overall, I would definitely attend another show.

I went to see Cinderella (my first time at Neptune), it was such a fun performance. This particular show was great for both a young and old audience. Theatre is beautiful, only downside was the wait for the ladies washroom at intermission, but I think that's unavoidable :)
