EDIT - SEPT. 29, 2019. I gave them a SECOND TRY, one year later. They showed up on-time and were very attentive to the kids. I'm giving them 5-stars as my old review would have been ZERO stars. The children had a wonderful experience. I really wanted to give them a second chance, because the idea is really awesome, plus my son was still asking about it a year later. I believe in second chances, and they really made it right this time for me. Thank you!
Sept. 29, 2018. (party date) I am sharing my experience with regret as I am not one to write negative reviews. But, because this was in regards to my sons 7th birthday, I HAVE to. As we all know, kids look forward to THEIR birthday, ALL YEAR LONG. I booked Game Asylum many months in advance (and multiple calls of re-verification of the date booked) to come to our home for my sons birthday party, we had 15 - 7 yr old boys at our home for the afternoon. Unfortunately the truck/trailer broke down as was explained to me, there was a malfunction. I was absolutely SICK to my stomach to hear this, not to mention having to break the news to my son and all his friends who were super pumped up for the main attraction to arrive. But, now what was I going to do with 15, 7 year old boys?!! Having the gaming trailer arrive was the main focus of the party. The look of sheer disappointment on my sons face was by FAR the worst part. I did ask Game Asylum to try to do ANYTHING to find ANY other sort of entertainment to show up at my house in short order, (Again, 15 boys, remember) the NEW OWNER happens to also own Grand River Inflatables (among many other 'entertainment' type businesses in the region, so an inflatable was brought over for the last hour of the party. Better then nothing, I suppose, but the damage was done and it wasn't the gaming trailer. When they first called me 30 min before the party was to start, it was an honest and sincere apology that I got from the manager, and I respect that as she was kind and understanding. I was very surprised that they DID NOT have a back up plan to accommodate the unfortunate situation. I recommended that they hire a tow truck to bring the trailer over and take the pick up truck separately (as it houses the generator) But, from what I understood, they needed a mechanic to fix whatever the towing issue was with the trailer. I am only here posting to share my experience, I'd like to hope this is a learned lesson for the new owner for future parties. For anyone booking a party with them, I know it was a rare occurrence, and obviously not intentional, keep in mind that anything can happen. Just make SURE you have a back up plan, discuss it with them in advance and find out if they have some other plan in place. Words cannot explain how disappointed I am. Nothing can make this right for our son now to be honest, the day of the event has come and gone now. It's not about the money, that's been dealt with (privately), but the whole birthday experience has been tarnished. Good Luck everyone!
