Must done every year again and again. Lovely
It's a great tourist attraction and a relaxing place to be. The cruise staff is helpful and hospitable. Commentary on the ship is heard well on main and the second floor but on the top deck it's hard to catch. It would be nice if there were some video screens to describe the history along with the commentary.
Good value. Covid safe. The "Shipwreck" part was lame, just short video clips. Consider the trip just an island tour.
Well I never made it to Cruise part. It was a last minute thing with the wife and since their information on the site was incorrect and staff bordering on rude and cold I just decided not to go all together. The biggest issue was that their site displayed last Cruise at 5pm I beliver but realistically that last was canceled and latest you can go was 3pm. On top of everything it was raining so I just scrapped the whole idea. And not to forget to mention no one was answering the phone so site was only option for info. I think twice before I go there especially if you are far away. Cheers
Summer time incredible place to visit and plunge into the water is not cold!!! You will be refreshing yourself amazing views.
Nice little tour. Wish you could watch the video from the roof level.
Lovely boat ride with history of the islands. Food options are extremely limited for 5 hour long ride. Recommend you bring your own!
Relaxing and fun cruise. Must see Boldt Castle grounds are gorgeous.
We reached to the cruise just before the crew was removing the ramp to board, we requested however the crew didn't let us to board. And when informed to the reception and requested for refund, they neither refund our money nor gave any credit. It was a highly disappointing experience.
Was a beautiful day for this cruise We chose the one hour cruise which was enough time on the boat. Would not recommend more than an hour ! You had a choice to sit inside or out and there are clean washrooms and snacks/drinks available for purchase inside Masks are mandatory on the cruise and seating is 2m apart You are allowed to walk around the boat while it is moving too so your not restricted to your seat
Excellent, clean water and enjoyed every breath Did the 1 hr trip and other activities like jet skiing, kayaking are available on site. Easy parking for $5 just opp the cruise.
Very good experience. Got to see couple of islands and the place wasn't that much crowded. All the covid-19 health safety protocols were maintained during the journey. But people coming from riverine countries with numerous boat experiences might not find anything new or totally different.
Had an absolutely lovely time on the cruise and enjoyed learning the history of the 1000 Islands. Very happy to hear that so much is being done to preserve them.
Our party of 5 was very excited to go on the boat tour my wife and I have been on the 3 times that went out east up the river where a the history about the river is more prevalent, but without knowing yesterdays boat ride going west was a complete RIP off, make sure when your booking that you ask if the boat is heading east or west, the west route is a money grab there us nothing to see just a few cottages so dont make that mistake. In my mind the west route should be discontinued.
Great place to have a leisure time. Beautiful overall. If you wanna go to the 5 hours trip don't forget to bring your passport or an American visa (it is required)
Ok nice Cruise
Over crowded, late departure, friendly staff and service. Avoid the summer weekends if you can, the crowds were too much. Cruise overall was good.
Niagara Falls cruise is far better than this !
Beautiful scenery
We did the one hour tour which was awesome. Got to see a lot of the islands and amazing cottages on them. Great history to much of the tour. Highly suggest taking the tour. ☺
It was a great bout experience! I truly recommend it!
Lucked out with weather. Sat the whole 2.5 hour tour on top deck soaking in the rays, scenery, and history. Too bad no video screens on top deck to see shipwrecks as we floated by over them, but honestly not a huge loss to me. Not first time on this tour other than it was known as Gananoque Boat Lines. Captain and all the crew very knowledgeable and friendly. An awesome way to get away from life's troubles for an afternoon.
Great boat cruise! Fantastic way to spend the afternoon seeing the 1000 Islands.
Nice relaxing cruise tour. Very clean boat with excellent Covid measures. Limited number of people, mask mandatory, continuous cleaning, physical distancing. Bring some food and water as its a long tour.
What a beautiful and amazing view on the cruise, we did the 2h one and wow Bolt Castle was the best part.
Amazing experience. Wonderful nature. Must visit frequently to reconnect with nature. We had the one hour tour and lucky we were with perfect sunny ???? and lovely friendly wind . Enjoyed the tour info by the staff. Very good experience.
Boat rides do last an hour as advertised! Personal enjoyment really depends on how well you like boat cruises, and how good the weather. Pick a clear day to have the best time!
Most impressive fact is the dressing's named after this area. V expensive houses. to be seen.
A must see place in Canada with incredible views. The boat is comfortable, exceeds expectations.
We took 2.5 hours boat tour. It was Great experience and fun.
I'd rate 10stars if such would be possible. AMAZING place, one of a kind. Definitely a must be place.
Beautiful scenery along St Lawrence river with a big boat, friendly staff and informative and funny audio guiding (pre recorded).
The cruise was nice and passed by things slow enough to get good pictures. If it’s sunny, be sure to wear a hat!
Took the 2.5 hr tour. The sailing was pleasant enough with options to walk around all the three decks. Not much of a guided tour. Luckily the crowd was thin. Not too many options for food on board. Ticket lines were fast moving. The only problem I had was the length of the tour. Perhaps a 2 hour one would have been better for me personally. Kid safe. Second 1000 Island cruise for me with the first one being from the US side.
Very beautiful little town. Very clean &quiet. Ontario is yours to discover.
Wonderfully experience at city cruise. Need to book 2 days in advance. It was on time and social distancing done proper. Only limited number of people allowed on the cruise. Thousand island is beautiful. Very scenic and breathtaking. Kids love it too. Lost ship cruise give you 2.5 hrs and that's good time to enjoy the view. All the facilities are on board like toilets well maintained and snack bar. Going to thousand island and this cruise is a must have.
Wow, it was some experience. I would recommend 2.5 hours cruise as it covers more places. I wish to have more food options.
Great trip. 3 decks to choose from with audio video commentary. Few monitors were not working. You will get to know history of sunken ships and Bolt Castle views, bridge US and Canada are amazing. 2.5 hours cruise is recommended in my opinion. Make sure to put phone on air plane mode to avoid roaming charges. As you cross border while on cruise.
We took the 2.5hr cruise on Sept 4th. The cruise itself was beautiful, but there was little to no covid protocols being enforced, other than a few sections of seats being taped off. I counted maybe a dozen people that were actually wearing their masks during the tour (there is an announcement at the beginning explaining that it's mandatory to wear your mask at all times) . Several times the captian came out to mingle with some of the tourists, also not wearing a mask. We had to keep asking people to keep their distance from us- that's obviously not something the employees can control, it was just irritating. All in all it would have been great of the rules were being followed, but it was stressful, frustrating and uncomfortable.
City Cruise’s 1 hour cruise was a fun way to see & learn more about the St. Lawrence River & Gananoque area.
I would definitely suggest doing the 2.5 hour cruise instead of the 1 hour, we got to see alot more of the Islands. It also helps that they offer food and drinks on the main floor throughout the cruise
One the best cruises in Ontario. The Lost Ship cruise is a must do one, it's a 2 hours 30 mins cruise where you can enjoy the beautiful 1000 islands from the cruise. Very friendly crew, well sanitized time to time and everyone practiced social distancing. Booking the tickets online is always recommend as it get filled up pretty quickly. Also due to Covid the number of people allowed are much lower than the capacity. The uppermost open air deck provides the best views however make sure to be in line early as there are limited seating due to Covid. Time to time announcements are made about different things including ship wrecks in the area. The cruise also has a bar in the bottom deck. Washrooms were available and clean.
I love it !! More to see and longer tour. The islands are beautiful and so was boat castle. Would do that tour again.
Great cruise. I took the 2.5 hour cruise and I think it was the right decision. Cover bigger area more to see very relaxing and beautiful.
Had a good experience ...they followed all Covid-19 protocols and we felt safe ...
We loved our 2.5 hour St. Lawrence River cruise!
A bug thumbs-up for one day trip from Toronto in summers. Gananoque has multiple options for cruises. i would not recommend the 90 min tour as it doesn't take you to the Boldt Castle. Other two tours are pretty awesome. If you want to get down at the Castle you need to carry your passport and pay a little extra. 2.5 hour cruise takes you around places and also gives information on the same. Worth the experience.
Excellent time spent on the cruise. Beautiful scenery, very peculiar experience.
If you want to see the Beautiful 1000 islands then you should take the 2.5 hours city cruises which take you to the US waters.
Beautiful place to visit. i consider it as wonders of canada #Thousandislands
Took the one hour cruise. Nicely narrated, lots of Island homes, both majestic and quirky. The canteen had hot dogs (steamers) and wine and beer (local craft) very tasty.
2.5 hr cruise is worth taking.... You get a view around the castle, plus you also gets to see islands on US side. Cruises from Gananoque are much better and convenient for the visit.
Great time , lots to see . Good presentation with audio if needed . (They have several different languages) check with them to see if your language is available. They provide audio description of the history of the area and they make it quite entertaining . You don't actually see any shipwrecks because they are too far down . But the audio and video show what there all about . They have light snacks if you get hungry. If you smoke ...there is no smoking ! Please respect the rule .and stop throwing your damn buts over board . You filthy litter bug you .
When you set off on the boat and you see your first island with a house on you start taking pictures.... you don't stop for the next 2 hrs! We had amazing weather for this amazing cruise. Do it......
Good boat ride. Steady and pleasant. Weather was excellent. Reasonably priced drinks and food.Provided custom and passport related instructions. Great crew. Overall good experience.
Amazing!! We visited from Toronto and this tour was a must do for my girlfriend and I because we have never been to Thousand Islands. This was definitely the highlight of our mini vacation to Gananoque. Great staff, amazing views of all of the little islands, Million Dollar Row and Boltd Castle. We lucked out doing the cruise during the Poker Run, and we’re able to see all of the race boats heading down to Prescott.
I really suggest the ride 2.5hours. it’s the best activity to do in gananoque I loved even if I had to wear my mask
Absolutely wonderful experience, great way to get out with your family and enjoy the water and local history. Beautiful to walk around Gananoque and enjoy the city before arriving for your boat cruise, we took the one hour cruise. Very knowledgeable and polite employees. Definetly looking forward and taking the 2 hour boat cruise and seeing the sights of that one.
We recently enjoyed a 2 and a half hour cruise from City Cruises. The route takes you up the Saint Lawrence river (mostly on the American side) and comes back on the Canadian side. The scenery is beautiful and the in-cruise information is interesting.
Going on the boat cruise was relaxing. I liked learning about the history of the St Lawrence River and seeing Boldt Castle on Heart Island. The cruise is about an hour long.
Had an amazing time on the cruise. We chose the 2.5 hr cruise and it was worth the money and time. Covid protocols followed in seating arrangement and the crew were monitoring if everyone had their masks on. Highly recommended
Loved it! Great views and history
Really enjoyed the 1000 islands cruise tour, mask and social distancing are well controlled and respected on board. Competitive price for cruise ticket and public parking. There is a public beach just 2 blocks away, nice place to go after cruise tour with kids.
What a beautiful location to visit and one of the must see places in Ontario. The river cruises are very well organized and run on a daily basis.Infact they have around 10 rides throughout the day and with different durations. Washrooms are available on board along with soft drinks and snacks. The vessel is very well done with both indoor and outdoor seating- a lot of view points to soak in the natural beauty. Some of the cruises even stop at Boldt island but this requires a visa or Canadian passport. I would recommend spending one night too either at Gananoque or Kingston to enjoy the area
We took 1 hour cruise and were delighted by enlightening commentary by captain
The scenic beauty of the Thousand Island and the love for travel, this is one destination which is on everyone’s list! The the boat ride had various option but we went with the 2.5 hours one which includes passing by the Millionaire’s Houses, the famous Canada U.S Bridge and around the Bolt Castle! The boat had sandwiches and other things to offer for the long ride! The trip is perfect for a day!
Great cruise definitely worth the experience
Great tourist attraction place.
Very nice experience, magnificent views
It was worth the price we paid. We took 2.5 hrs cruise and it covered all the major attractions along the 1000 islands. We saw the beautiful castle, millionaires row, Canada -US border, bridge, and definitely many islands along the route. The views are breathtaking. The cruise wasn’t overly crowded and everyone had a good spot for viewing.
We did the 2.5 hr tour and although we enjoyed it, the shorter tour would have been enough.
The two and half tour was great. The crew were super nice and everyone on board respected social distancing. The view from the boat was spectacular. I recommend it and will do it again.
2.5 hour cruise was worth the money and time spend. Automated guide is great. Bar service was good to to have choice of hard drinks, Cesar , apple cider and bee, tea and coffee. Recomend taking your jacket. Boat itself is not good . Carpet and paint is peeling inside. Boat need maintenance on its aesthetic looks. Overall good time spend.
Great Experience. Bolt Castle views, bridge US and Canada are amazing. We had the 2.5 hours cruise and we really enjoyed it.
I went on a two hour trip in August 2021. I found the cruise enjoyable, but I think a shorter ride would have sufficed. It's nice to see the islands, but my disappointment (and thus low rating) is because the history of the land is viewed through a colonial lens... There's so much talk about the shipwrecks and the vacation homes of the rich - what about the islands before settlers/Europeans arrived here? How has the ongoing occupation of the islands affected local Indigenous communities? I yearned for more that just wasn't even thought about.
The 2.5 hours boat ride we took around the islands was amazing! There was $2 parking available next to the boarding which was great. The ticketing process was quick and the staff on the cruise was professional. I will come again!
Very pretty scenery. Nice ride for 2.5 hours. Unfortunately if you sit out on the boat deck as we did you can't hear the commentary which had info about the history and residents.
Amazing trail . Take the 1 hour tour is enough
Took the 2 hour boat tour. It was great . Every precaution was taken in regards to social distancing...sanitation. Limited seats on the top deck, so get in the line early if you want to seat at the top deck. Chips and coffee and stuff can be purchased inside as well. Washroom was clean. Crew was vigilant in reminding people to wear their mask...(as some people keep taking them off????????♂️). Make sure you bring a jacket/hoodie as it gets cold, specially if you’re on the top deck. There’s a 1hour tour available as well. They have other ones like the 5 hour tour but due to COVID-19 it’s not available.I also suggest you book online so you won’t be disappointed driving all the way and not get a ticket. Like I said they limit the number of people. As for parking they have $4 for the boat cruise people, right beside the LCBO...but if you get there early they have some areas with free parking. There’s also a nice park in the area with a beach and like a splash playground for kids. Overall it’s a great experience and fun.
1 hour cruise is good enough. The 2.5 hours would be really long unless that's how you want to spend time. Exploring Kingston downtown is worthwhile
It's better to go when leaves change color but the cruise was still nice and relaxing
Good Cruise. Lots to see highly recommended
Hmmmm...... this is social distancing???
A Must to include when visiting the 1000 Islands. Thoroughly ENJOYABLE
We took the 2.5 hour Ship Wreck tour. Well it was hard to see any ship wrecks as the water is very green but the boat ride was awesome .. Sure to COVID, the route company limits to 50 passengers so it's really great.
Love the 2.5 hours experience!!!!! Really well guided tour and the staff is super friendly and always there to ensure covid protocols are followed! This cruise is the best thing to do in Gananoque! Totally worth it!
If you go to visit 1000 Islands this is a must do! We absolutely loved our 2.5 hour cruise. The weather was nice and we managed to make some great photos of Boldt castle. The boat crew was very nice and their boat was very clean and spacious. It was a great experience for us and our kids and we enjoyed the scenery.
I've been on the cruises a million times. Never gets old for me. Have yet to take a rip since new owners took over. I'll find out in spring I guess.
We choose 1h for our cruise trip, and it was amazing journey to see small islands so close. It is also highly recommended for children. During the cruise, it was mandatory to wear masks, but it is so windy on a ship, so you can breathe normally. The price for 2 adults and 1 kid (5y.o ) is cheaper by 36CAD than in Kingstone for the same 1h cruise.
Awesome place to visit, serene environment. Wish i could stay in those cottages built in islands. I will highly recommend to visit this place and do lost ship tour...find if you can any cottages available in these islands to live and stay off there... cut off from the world.
The view is great. The narrative can be better.
Passport processing on Boldt island took almost an hour. The castle and grounds are worth a visit. It is very pretty
good company to go for a cruise trip to the beautiful thousands islands area and discover the beauty of the nature
This 1000 island cruise is a must visit in Ontario, the entire ride is about 4 hours, there’s another one of 5.5 hrs which takes you to an US island (visa required). There are many serene views, with snow/Canadian goose flying over your cruise, you can feed them and click great pics (be sure to know what we can feed). Many islands to see, ferry will take your around heart castle, its has a magnificent view. Other thing on the tour will be cottages on islands (for rent), built huge on vast islands, with all facilities. There’s a restaurant with bar on board, so you can enjoy you time, you can roam around the ferry enjoying multiple views and sound of ripples, and there’s always a fun element whenever two ferries cross each other.
Nature’s beauty at its best. Aesthetically pleasing!
Wow! This boat tour of the Thousand Islands area was really fun! We did the quick 1 hour tour & really enjoyed our time out on the water. The pre-recorded audio information is educational, if a little campy. And the staff were all super nice, competent & helpful!
Smooth cruise with knowledgeable staff. A fun and educational guided tour to see the beautiful thousand islands and cottages. COVID capacity and mask rules were in place to ensure safety.
The cruise was 1h, it' a was perfect.
Lovely views. It would have been nice to have some music... A historical tape was put on and no one was available for questions. Beautiful boat- clean. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Snacks are available- and on some boats alcoholic beverages. Two 1/2 hour tour is $40.00 per person. One hour tour would have been sufficient.
Great place to relax and see the sites. Also visit Bolte Castle
Very pleasant trip and friendly crew. Reply recommend the 2.5 hrs trip
Worth the trip. Boat Cruise was excellent ????
I took the 2,5 hour sunken ship cruise. The trip was wonderful. The thousand islands are beautiful. We realised on board that the 1 hour trip would have been too short. I give a three out of 5 for two reasons. You don't really see the sunken ships. You have to be downstairs indoors to see them on a videoscreen. With hot weather a cool breaze, it's way more beautiful on the topside outdoors. So we don't really see the ships, but the 2,5 hours is still worth the cost. The other snag was with the person responsible for parking. There was one gentlemen/manager who kept yelling at his employees in the parking lot, yelling at the employees putting people in line for the ships and yelling at customer cars which were parked in vacant lots where he obviously did not want them. It kind of takes away from the experience and the beauty of the place when you're trying to filter out this one manager shouting/hollering/squawking litterally all over the place. Hey, most people are there on vacation wanting to have a good time and relax...
This was one of the most stunning places that we visited in Canada. It is so relaxing. You can enjoy the sunset. But it is recomendable to wear something warm because it is windy. In this place you can take a cruise, there are different kind of tours with different duration. It depends on what you want to see and pay of course. But it is really worth. You can see all the tiny islands with beautiful summer houses, as well as people enjoying of aquatic activities. The tour offer an audio guide, which explains all the history behind these islands. So you will not get bored. Remember to wear suitable clothes.
Very nice ????. Enjoyed a lot.
An amazing day today
I simply love it! As specially 2.5 hours of tour was really entertaining.
We did the shipwreck tour that was 2.5 hours long. It was as expected from the website to the real thing. It was probably a little too long for my younger kids. The only disappointment is that there was only 1 screen so if you wanted to see the shipwrecks than you had to keep getting up and going there but they weren't anything spectacular anyways so it's just a long boat tour. We lucked out and had great weather.
Love it lots of information on the islands and all the employees were great! Will be doing it again!
An excellent place that will make your day!
It’s a beautiful place to visit but I wish there could have been somewhere to got off spend sometime. I felt it’s expensive for what’s provided. The food is ok but the service is pretty great. It’s just the ride that takes you for 3 hours and bring back. The capacity of the boat seem to be like 100 and this is including food. There is other variety of trip that doesn’t include food and is cheaper. I would recommend that :) If you go for a romantic trip go for the one with food.. service pretty!
A great way to see Thousands Lakes. The one hour trip won’t take you to see the castles.
Booked the 2.5h boat Tour. Panoramic views are great. Anyhow due to the pandemic masks are mandatory at all times even in the upper deck
In a very hot humid day. We are out in the open, all groups separated by easily more than 4 meters of distance and still they constantly told us to wear the masks even when everyone complained that it was too hot and humid to breath through it. We even got a man that would routinely every 15 minutes pass by to look at the faces of people wearing the masks. If you don’t mind illogically, and uncomfortably wearing the mask for an hour then this boat should be no problem and perfect to enjoy the view. But if you don’t want to be harassed this one is not for you.
Good customer service and amazing cruise
It took a while to get boarded but when we did it was ok. We enjoyed the boat tour but definitely didn't like the kids playing hide and seek around us. They were literally running around the floors. It's supposed to be relaxing but wasn't because people can't control their kids. I think you need to enforce the rules more for safety and for your passengers.
1000 islands are one of the world’s best tourist attractions. Beautiful blue ocean and luxury dream homes on small islands are splendid. 1000 island’s Gananoque boat line is the oldest boat operators and it is pretty well known. We booked "lost ships of thousand islands" cruise, which is a 2.5 hr boat cruise that departs from Gananoque port. The customer service of the boat company is helpful, they properly guide our queries and assist us. The cruise is pretty much safe for small children and elderly people. The cruise deck has the facility of restroom, coffee shop and bar. We booked our ticket online, and as per company policy, if you are uncertain about your reaching time, you can call them to postpone for the next available trip. The entire trip is well-organized, however, the tour guide speaker system was dull, people were on their own on the cruise and there was not much excitement. I believe tour could have been more animated if it was guided properly and energized.
If you go to a thousand islands you've got to get on a cruise. I took the 2hr cruise and made it out to the castle ???? Great was to spend the morning.
So beautiful! Don't skip the chance to take this cruise!
Took the 1hr cruise. Excellent ride with great tour through the speakers on the boat. Customer service were professional, boat was clean and had many different areas on 3 different levels to sit and enjoy the view. Parking isn't free! Gift shop has a small dinner within it which has great service as well. Trully enjoyed the experience, totally worth it!
Don't get me wrong, it is beautiful. But the boat in itself is not super classy, it's a bit old. They put a recording with information on the 1000 islands on big speakers and it was not easy on my ears. It was ruining a bit the nice ride. The personnel was super nice and friendly though. So to resume, I would recommend the boat rides because it's a one of a time experience and for the price it's worth it.
Took the 2.5 hour cruise ride around the castle. It was a beautiful ride. Make sure to book your tickets online and be there before 45 minutes because seats are filled on first come first serve basis..
We took the 4.30 pm cruise.. It was 2.5 hrs which went all the way across the US border.. viewing the castles, mansions and birds.. the weather was beautiful.. over all an awesome experience.
It was a perfect day and the scenery was spectacular! Boldt Castle is amazing...really a must do if you are in the area!!!
We took 2.5 hours tour by boat. It was amazing experience to see all of islands, houses there, people fishing on the boats or having fun in pleasure boat or jet ski. We could see famous castle from pretty close even if we didn't have a chance to visit it. On the boat, you need to be prepared to pay by cash. For 2.5 hours it's better to have some money or snacks although they say not to bring your own meals or drinks.
The trip is pretty good. Good location and place to visit once. It was around $44 for a trip of 2.5 hours It was worth it. For me 2.5 hours was little boring. You can get 1 hour trip as well around $30.
Great tours of the Thousand islands. Very reasonable price
Enjoyable tour even if the boat shows age. We did the one hour didn't have time for the two hour tour.
Book early for this! But a must do!!! Worth every penny. You must have a passport if doing the Boldt Castle tour as it’s in the US and you have to go through customs. Boat ride was great, beautiful views. Food on the boat was reasonable priced but lacked selection and was heavy, greasy food. The line up for the boat starts early and is first come first serve. That was the worst part, as everyone crams in and it’s pure chaos. However the staff is good and very efficient at getting everyone through and on the boat. Boldt Castle was incredible!!! Two hours here was plenty of time to explore and enjoy the island. Boat ride is 1.5 hours each way and 2 hours on the island. We did a 3-8 tour and got to see a beautiful sunset on the boat ride home. Highly recommend this tour! You won’t regret it!!!
Great trip, sound system could use some work could not hear over the boat engins. But the river trip was great
It was a beautiful scenic tour. It was to bad we could actually see the ship wrecks. They were only on TV's on the lower two decks. Otherwise great experience and so many sites to see!
Went on 1 hour cruise. It was really nice and refreshing expertise away from city life. The crew were very professional. I would definitely go again but would go to see the castle
Did the 5 hr cruise which stops at Boldt Castle. Cruise was great and very beautiful. The boat itself was ok. Three levels with 2 sheltered levels. Washrooms were clean but had no soap which was a bit gross. Value for your money is well spent considering the experience. The castle stop was very nice.
I liked the 2.5-hr journey. First half hour was rainy but I liked both the rainy and sunny weather.
We took the long cruise thinking we could visit the Boldt castle. The castle is in the USA an Canadian were not allowed at the castle due to the pandemic. The views of houses and islands are beautiful all through the cruise. The return was long as we had nothing new to view.
We go for a cruise every couple of years, took our 5 year old grandson for his first 1 hr cruise last weekend. We had a blast. Impressed with how well maintained and clean the craft and facilities are, and the very friendly and helpful staff and crew
What a lovely tour!! We enjoyed the 1hr tour around the St.Lawrence with lots of interesting facts given out along the way. The crew was friendly & professional. Felt very safe with all the protocols they had in place. Looking forward to the 2.5hr tour next time we are in Gan
Nice trip, but a bit boring. They could make it more interesting.
Really liked it. People go to Kingston generally for the cruise but I guess this hidden gem as the line ups are not there and 8ts easy to get the tickets. And not to mention the cruises are not overcrowded like the ones in Kingston. And it's just 30 mins drive from Kingston. So roam around Kingston for all the museum and then head out to Ganonoque for the cruise. Enjoy the sunset cruise.
Took the 2.5 hr boat cruise & it was great....even having to wear a mask. A must thing to do in Gananoque.
Could hardly have been better. Just what I needed, perfect weather, good family friends. Lots of beautiful interesting things to see. It was supposed to rain but did not. WOW!
We took the 5hr boat tour of the 1000 islands American/Canadian islands with a 2hr stop over at the Bolt Castle and it was excellent.
A wonderful experience. Very educational and the views are just amazing...a must on everyone's bucket list.
Friendly staff and pictorial view from the boat. Enjoyed Captain's stories and introduction of the area. Recommended!
What a fantastic tour of the Thousand Islands. Friendly crew, live music, beautiful sunset, spectacular views of islands populated with everything from cottages to mansions to castles!
Took the cruise with my parents and two children. Had a great time and the 2.5 hour cruise seemed to be just enough for the little ones. My dad has some health issues and the cruise was a great way to get him out while not exerting too much energy. Everyone enjoyed themselves.
Simply wonderful! Headed out on the 2.5 hour cruise which makes its way through US waters too. It’s called the Lost Ships of the 1000 Islands Cruise. You pass so many gorgeous islands, it makes you look at island reality later! There was a lot of fascinating history to learn, and each spot with a lost, sunken ship was displayed on a tv screen. It was difficult to run back to the tv screen each time they spoke of one and hard to see the screen with the reflections of light all around- perhaps the company can add more tv screens in the future, and extra prompts like, “We are nearly at the A. E. Vickery shipwreck of 1861, come gather round the tv screens to see the side-scan sonar images” or something along those lines. The best view by far was that of Boldt Castle and its beautiful yet somewhat tragic end in 1904. The boat goes around the island twice. It’s breathtaking! George Boldt was the president of New York’s Waldorf-Astoria Hotel Company from 1897-1916. He built the castle for his wife Louise, with whom he loved so dearly- talk about soulmates! For pandemic safety issues, social distancing is practised. You are required to wear a mask at all times unless you are eating. There’s a little canteen aboard the ship, serves a nice smoked meat sandwich, amongst other snacks. Altogether, it was a great experience, deserves 5 stars but I’ve put 4 only because if the lack of tv screens to view the shipwrecks, or not enough prompting to come and view them onscreen- as the ships’ pictures are shown for only a couple of seconds. For any history buff, I urge you to visit the 1000 Islands History Museum afterwards and the Boat Museum; they are within walking distance, parking is $5 on the lot if you don’t find a spot along the street! Gift shop is lovely too and you can get some quality souvenirs for less than you’d think.
Great experience, the ship was well designed to have 360 views. Go for the 2.5 hours cruise. Prices are reasonable.
The 1000 Islands area is beautiful and well worth the visit. Went on the two and a half hour cruise. They have a recorded dialogue giving lots of information about the area, but it's all in English. Information in French would be helpful for their many Quebecois clients. Very poor enforcement of Covid masking rules on my cruise. I was told no masks required for eating, drinking, and when taking photos (which covers 90% of people's activities). I didn't hear any announcement about masks, and I saw no enforcement on upper level, where majority of cruisers were without masks. $5 parking fee at two main parking lots.
We did the 1 hour cruise of the 1000 Islands. It was really nice and we enjoyed it a lot !! My kids loved it there too !!! We stayed on the upper deck. You have to wear a mask at all times. Nice wind, perfect weather, we got a tan too. Lol. Wear a hat and sunglasses. There is an audio too that describes to you what you see on the tour as the boat goes on your left and on your right side. Take pictures and videos. Stuff very friendly and helpful. Food and snacks available to purchase on boat. Definitely worth it, next time we will do the 2,5 hours tour as well.
Loved this cruise! The crew was very friendly and the boat wasn't crowded. They narrated along the way and we learned a lot. The ability to buy a few drinks as we went was nice. It was a very peaceful two and a half hour tour and the weather accommodated with bright hot sun.
Excellent customer service. somehow we managed to board the 1 hr tour instead the 2:30 hrs we paid for. The crew was very accommodating and gave us the choice to stay on the boat for the next 2:30 hrs trip as originally planned.
Had an amazing experience today at City cruises Gananoque. We took 2.5hrs bout cruise and it was really scenic and beautiful with nature with lots of interesting houses on small and big islands. The Boldt castle was definitely the highlight and many other little things like smallest international bridge, Canada- US bridge etc. Planning to come back next year for sure. Highly recommended to people who enjoy nature and boat rides ????
I did a 2.5 hr cruise yesterday, it was a good experience to see the islands and Boldt Castle. The boat was nice and everyone was able to maintain a safe distance. However, the staff did not do a good job in reminding/enforcing guests to keep their mask on. There were lots of people that kept taking it off even though we had to wear it. Overall, it was a good experience.
Very nice boat ride. They were very Covid-19 aware. Bring sunscreen if you plan to sit on the top of the boat.
It was very nice trip, just two hours drive from Ottawa. I took 2.5 hour trip but got bored with in 1.5 hour of the trip. I would recommend 1 hours trip or if you're here just for small visit. Or either go for 5 hour if spending whole day.
Great experience. If you travel to Kingston, at least try once
Nice 2.5h boat cruise that goes around several of the thousand islands. Good memories from it.
Best experience ever. I would suggest to visit this place whoever loves nature.
Excellent tour, all needed precautions taken and we quite enjoyed ourselves.
Very picturesque cruise ! Comfortable ride which had both seating arrangement as well as open deck :) Also, has a small pantry on board. A very pleasant experience indeed
Loved the vibes here, such a lovely tour extremely worthy if you love to see the islands best place to go
Great experience
Booked 2.5 hrs to visit shipwrecks but they didn’t mention they will show shipwreck on tv screens… well if its that deep in water and not visible than description should be clear that its not visible…! Best part of cruise for view of castle thats it .
The boat cruise was pleasant. However, little control of the children running all over the decks with no restrictions. No staff around. Could not hear the video describing the the scenery and the various castles. Too bad my experience could of been more pleasant with more organization.
It was awesome...we enjoyed alot on family trip...such beautiful scenic beauties we never saw...5 stars to the cruise staff too for their guidance and following all safety protocols
Nice 2 1/2 hour cruise
The soundtrack is a little old-fashioned but the cruise is wonderful. The boat is very clean and the staff is extremely friendly. I would definitely go on their tours again!
Highly recommend! Scenery is..beautiful. the water so clean and green ( if sun hits it right!) Bar on board!
Took the 2.5 hour sunken ship tour. Would say that it was a very thorough tour of the thousand islands, but can't see any of the boats since they all completely submerged, duh! I wrongly figured at least a few would be still visible...they charged for infant less than 2years...But I was okay to pay for it since they are reduced capacity due to COVID with lots of space on the boat. Plus the baby had fun watching the jetskis jumping the waves behind the ship.
This was incredible! What an experience
The experience was pretty good, it was a nice ride to see the Boldt Castle, unfortunately because of Covid we couldn't get on the island. If you do it you can appreciate the beauty of the islands, the only downside is that I missed a lot of the info that they were announcing over the speakers because in some points of the boat is hard to hear.
Great cruise. We took the 2.5 hour tour and we really enjoyed it. We didn't mind the audio and video as there was a lot of information. Friendly staff. The only disappointment was the amount of people that kept taking their masks off. The staff did their best with the many reminders and personal requests to keep masks on. This was definitely a terrific way to see the 1000 Islands!. Highly Recommend!
Great gift shop, we'll organized cruises. Follow all covid safety protocols. Ample parking, next to harbor. Good capacity cruise boats.
The actual 2.5 hr boat tour was very nice. Lot's of very nice thing to see. My kids love it. Crew were friendly and accommodating. The only negative is the sound system as it's hard to hear anything specially in the first level. Office staff/booth was very nice as well. However, the four of us including my 12 yr old got charged an adult fare. I did informed the staff that 1 of my kids is a 12 yr old. Looking now in the on-line booking, he still qualifies for the lower rate (6-12 yr old). It's still worth the trip all in all.
Took the 2.5 hours cruise, and it was a great experience. The cruise will get close to USA and your phones may go roaming. You get coffee, snacks etc at a very reasonable price onboard. I think it will be even much more beautiful during the fall. Highly recommended.
Beautiful place. 1000 islands boat trips should be on your bucket list. Check the forecast for the day for a wonderful experience. Parking lots are available $5.
EXPERIENCE A GREAT CRUISE RIDE ... It takes you from Gananoque to the BOLTD CASTLE in the US. you can either pay to take the 2.5 hour ride or pay for the 5 hour trip that takes a cruise and drops you at the castle for 2 hours to tour around. Its approx $50 per head (adult) Its a nice place to visit with family as you get to spend direct time. Food on the boat is permitted and there is a small canteen built-in as well for the rich ppl reading this.
Very clean and the staff were great. They sanitized all the high touched areas while were enjoying the cruise.
