We have been dealing with McMunn and Yates for over 9 years back when they were McDiarmid Lumber with our home renovations. The whole time dealing with them customer service has been fantastic, the staff that I dealt with went above and beyond and I really appreciate that. The staff in the yard were extremely helpful as well.
We got spoiled by that great service, so we expected the same when dealing with getting our counter tops and that unfortunately was not the case. The person involved with the counters came to our house an hour late (she texted 2 mins before she was supposed to be at our house that she was going to be late) and measured. My husband gave her detailed instructions on what cuts he wanted for the counter because of our island being big and required more to it than a straight forward counter.
Unfortunately it took over a month to come in and the cuts were wrong, she came and re-measured and said she will put a "rush" on this. Well the "rush" was again over 4 weeks and it was the wrong pattern that we wanted for the counter. Again she came and looked and put another "rush" on the correct pattern and the correct cut. Throughout all of this when my husband would try and make contact, through text, voice mails and messages she never replied and resulted with us contacting head office in Dauphin and we made a formal complaint. Apparently this isn't the first time that someone has commented on how the service was atrocious when dealing with counters/cabinets. We should have went with the local counter/cabinetry company, in the end it would have only cost us $500 more than McMunn.
