Here you will see all the information of people like you who consumed the products of Irish Times Pub (Event Planner) in Esquimalt (Canada).
As of day this business gets a score of 4.4 over 5 and that score was based on 127 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings is very positive, and it's founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may say that the evaluation is quite faithful. If people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to put reviews when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Event Planner belongs to the category of Irish pub.
We spent 4 days in Victoria, and visited a whole lot of pubs, but this is the place where we spent the most time, partly because of the friends we made at the bar, but everything else, the decent food, beer selection, sports on the TV, good specials and excellent service.
Great environment! Fast service and a wonderful selection of Irish drinks. Their tiger prawns had an incredible sauce.
Checking for Vaccine Passport. A very lively pub with a live band playing on a Friday night. They have a good selections of beverages. A must place to go when in Victoria.
When I studied in Dublin Ireland , Irish pub would always be my favorite place to go in Dublin! Now I am not in Dublin anymore , but I still have to go for a jar of Guinness once a while . This Irish Times Pub would be my best choice in town ! Beautiful girls and delicious fish& chips ! I could never get enough! Come for live music and spend a night out with your family and loved ones! don’t miss out this Irish pub in Victoria downtown! I am sure you will fell in love with it!
Nice food and service. Excellent live music singer.
Good selection of beer/alcoholic drinks. It can get too loud both to their indoor and outdoor. The food was ok.
Nice irish bar with lots of variety. Bartender was hung over and not very attentive. But beer tasted good.
Great ambiance and the staff was very friendly. The washrooms were very clean too. The shots were a little expensive (7.50$) but were very tasty. Overall a fun way to end the night while bar hopping in Victoria.
Great atmosphere. Great service
Lovely staff. Good band. Great service. Overall great ambiance.
I always liked the pub so 5 stars but the queso gets zero stars. Tastes like velveeta with pickles and corn added. DO-NOT-ORDER-THE-QUE-SO. I like the white cheese queso you get at Mexican restaurants in Texas.
Best bar in Victoria. Live Irish music after 9pm. The liveliest and happiest bar around. Excellent Poutine. And they have my favorite beer, Driftwood Brewery White Bark!

A very strange thing to rave about: their gravy is absolutely mind-blowing. I want to drink it like a soup!
Lot of seating, but doesn't feel crowded. Great selection of alcohol. The food was delicious.
Delicious food, great customer service and perfect ambience. We had spicy chicken wings, mango bellini, Pim’s something, Empress 75 and an irish whiskey. Everything was great + the live music ….one of the best restaurants.
Big lively place !All the great Irish and other beers ???? on tap, live music and good food
Friendly staff, quick service, two thumbs up!
Really good food. Cozy atmosphere
Very nice patio area. It was a little busy but the food came out at a reasonable time.
Good service. Food tasted okay. Its very humid and hot inside so have sit outside.
Love the place....love the atmosphere. It's a must "drop in for a guiness " place for me everygtime I visit Victoria from alberta
What you can expect from an Irish pub. Good selection of drinks and good food. Bartenders were super friendly. Live music was also a plus to the very well decorated place.
There is only one word to describe this establishment: Incredible. The architecture is amazing. My server, Oscar, has been above and beyond. I sat down, and he suggested everything. Whiskey, wine, and the most delicious Irish stew that I've ever tasted. And I'm Irish. And I know my way around a kitchen. Fantastic experience. Highly recommended. 10/10
Great location within Victoria’s downtown area. Atmosphere and character are a nice touch from the furniture to the building structure itself, however the seating arrangement was a little awkward with very close seating to the next table it was difficult not to overhear a conversation but again this is a pub. Waiter and staff were friendly and prompt, but the all around cost of the meal itself set them back a bit in ratings. The food is authentic but with a more modern uptick, however my particular meal was over cooked as was my wife’s. There were options for kids but the young man chose to have the Mac & Cheese on the regular menu. Nice place for drinks, but maybe skip the full menu and order appetizers and a pint!
Great location and great service. Hit the happy hour and enjoy traditional Irish music while you imbibe.
Authentic and lively. You’ll want to go back for a pint!
Location atmosphere and service. Weather is warm and is good city to cycle and sight sea. Southern Gulf Islands are easily accessible and are surrounded by the sea.
Great spot downtown with a vibrant atmosphere and staff. A cheeky pint on the patio, or indoors for the game, it's a good venue for all.
This is a good pub in a good location. It is quite large and generally busy, and they have a big selection of food and drinks. The staff worked in teams, so that they attended the tables quite often - nobody was being forgotten. The good tasted good, we had Shepherd's pie and nachos, quite pleasurable. The presentation wasn't amazing, but the taste was good. Drinks arrived quickly, although water was forgotten. The decor was amusing. It is a large place with some open areas between floors, so you can look down on the main bar from above. Some of the tables are ticked into corner s, or little rooms off of the main area, so there are different seating environments throughout. The outdoor seating seems nice especially for people watching. And the happy hour menu has some good choices!
Awesome food. Great service. Good vibe. Loved the live music.
Service
Live music was great! Ended too early. Also your bouncer doesnt understand how to wear a mask.. has to go above his nose. No matter how big his biceps are Update: he still has no idea how to wear his mask.
Looked like a good place but the hostess turned to speak to staff whilst in conversation with us. And she didn't tell us that we would have five minutes to place our dinner order because the kitchen was having maintenance at 8 pm on a Thursday. We left and had a good meal and courteous staff at the Bard.
Food was good, had the shepherds pie with a few Guiness. Service was very friendly. Ambiance is lively with Irish music making for a happy dining and drinking spot. Toilets were clean too!
Recently moved from Winnipeg and was beginning to think there was no good places to eat...until eating here. By far the best food I have had ! I got a steak sandwich and the Irish stew. Even the drinks were amazing.
Good ambiance, tasty food and nice live music in the evenings. The drinks were good. I especially liked the veggie burger - special mention because the patty is a house-made vegetable patty, NOT beyond meat, which I really appreciated. The brownie was delicious and soft. If I had one gripe, it would be that the tables are quite sticky, but I suppose one can expect that in a pub. All in all, would recommend.
Great place great staff and awesome good. Steak and cheese sandwich clam chowder and fish and chips were all delicious.
Outstanding pub...excellent food...quality drinks...great music and a friendly, attentive staff!
Irish beer is awesome. It's a bit sweet and very smooth.
Great Irish pub experience (except for the country music).
Hot turkey sandwich was an absolute mountain, however our server was either tired or didn't give a heck about us. Didn't refill our water (the host/line runner did), she never asked how our food was and then went into ghost mode for the rest of our stay. It was hard enough to flag her down for a box for our takeaways
Great interior service really good. Guinness Brownie yummy
Classic Irish pub, the place was not really busy when a visited and the service is kind of slow. It take time to get our beers and it took a long time to get the bill, I was tempted to just leave cause it took a long time. Prices are on the a little high, the beer is good. I did no try the food, but my next time in Victoria I would try another place. The location is great and they have a lot of outdoor seating.
We did the Dine Around $20 menu and it was amazing value. The chowder was chock full of seafood and delicious. The haddock and chips seemed to have scratch made coleslaw and tartare sauce. The fish itself was amazing and cooked to perfection and a good portion size too. The brownie desert and sticky toffee pudding were fantastic. Might have to do this again as such good value. Server was friendly and efficient too.
Great location, amazing food and good service! I had a steak and it was probably one of them best I’ve ever had. They have crispy fries with good flavour. My wife had their soup of the day, it had a lot of great flavours and good portions. Highly recommend stopping here.
Best pub in Victoria! Loved their Irish stew!
Gorgeous building, super nice staff, excellent whiskey and cocktail selection, and very fast service. Everything you'd want for a pub. My partner and I liked it so much we came back the same day for dinner.
Most attentive efficient bartsnder ever. Great selection of beers on tap. Wonderful environment. And tonight the live music was outstanding. I came for 1 drink and stayed for way more.
Very good atmosphere, staff and Pub food. Well worth a visit.
Irish Times Pub is my favorite place ,When I staying on Victoria KGIC Language School(SSLC Victoria CAMPUS). We always celebrated birthday with my classmates together enjoy beer night!!!! Here have my beautiful moments. If I have time or travel money . I wanna visiting here again. Recommend beer and enjoy your night. 15Nov,2014. ELin.
It is my wife's birthday today so we stopped here for lunch. We had a nice table outside away from Government St. We had the Tyger cauliflower for a starter and they were crunchy and spicy. The cauliflower was not too cooked. I had the Mac and Cheese which came out piping hot and super creamy. Very tasty. My wife had the veggie burger and it was huge. She had to cut it so she could eat it. I really enjoyed her fries, nice and crunchy. We were under a red umbrella so my pictures are tinted as such. Very enjoyable lunch date with my love.
Cozy and fun place to have drinks and bar grub. Chicken wings we're very good!!!
A cracking good place to remember that you’re a crazy Irish man (or Scotsman in my case). Enjoy the many live musicians as they make overly suggestive eye contact with you. You can try to avoid their smoldering Irish gaze, but the traditional and cozy interior makes that hard.
Nice servers and quiet environment which I love. Food was decent. Burgers were a bit overcooked...could be our fault for not specifying how we wanted them.
Fish and chips was great. This place seems lively.
Reminded us of our time in Ireland. Qristina on the fiddle wad wonderful ???? Lots of Irish and local beer on tap. The server even knew how to pronounce Smithwicks properly. The food was good too. Thanks
Beautiful spot, well run, good food and bevys. Wife's favourite part was the live music. The Irish tunes made the night.
Good food and service. Live music was a nice touch.
I visited during happy hour and was impressed by the selection. We ordered the poutine which was big enough for two people to share and still not finish it! Loved the little patio they have, with space heaters if you get cold!
Amazing scenery and layout. Very friendly and helpful staff. The Poutine was very good but a little on the salty side.
Good service. Beautiful building. Superb live music.

Glad to be the first reviewing this place. A restaurant pub with a great feeling! We just came here for a guinness draft beer at the bar, don't know if the food is good. Opens late even on Sunday! Very convenient. Live music every Sunday at 9pm!!
Great service. Great food. Great atmosphere. Thank you
Honestly, I was incredibly surprised. I was expecting a tourist trap with mediocre food. Wrong! I had the steak sandwich, my FIL had the stew. Etc etc, everyone loved it. Server was swamped but was still lovely, and incredibly accommodating to our unique situation. My biggest complaint is that it’s loud AF, but it was Friday at 6pm lol
Nice place to stop for drinks and a bit to eat. Food is very good, and the bar area is large with a variety of drink options. We spent a few days in Victoria and ended up coming here a few times, sometimes for drinks and others for drinks and appies. Enjoyed ourselves each time.
Wonderful spot. Food was just ok but covid staffing might an issue.
Great service, loved the live music!! Friends brought thier baby and he was even quiet and loving it the entire 3 hours we were there! Also they have great caesars!!
The food was good! Our server was kind and knowledgeable. It was nice to have live music on a weekday. However, it was unclear where the entrance was and we were ignored upon arrival for 5 minutes until asking for service.
Great atmosphere really good staff and the food was off the charts. I have the Irish stew and it was delicious big portions fairprice. If you're in Victoria you got to check them out
One of my favorite places in downtown Victoria. So happy that they are open for breakfast. Always delicious and wonderful, friendly staff. Lots of patio seating.
My all time favourite pub! Great location and wonderful service! The buffalo wings is the best!
The food was so tasty and the service was great. A great pub atmosphere.
Nice place with a good drink selection and very delicious meals. Service was attentive and courteous.
One of Victoria’s best, winner of Best Irish Pub in North America. Great tap selection, classic Irish pub menu & Irish Whiskey. Great location downtown with 2 outdoor patios and indoor seating. Friendly, accommodating staff. Service was fast and food was fresh.
You gotta go there. Great pub with a band and yummy food
Great food and atmosphere! Would be nice if they had air conditioning during hotter days if you are dining inside. Shepard’s pie was very good.
Super great food! I’ve passed by this place multiple times when I’ve visited Victoria in the past and I’ve been meaning to try it out. Also very friendly staff, it was really welcoming and cozy when I walked in there tonight. My brother and I both liked it and we had a great time here! Definitely will be back! Such great service!
Good drinks and atmosphere. No food after 11 (wanted a BLT), but the Aussie in a quilt recommended the Maccas down the street.
We were recently in Victoria and visited the Irish Times once for lunch and then for dinner. The service was fantastic and the food and drinks great. The Irish stew in amazing and so is the the Fish and Chips. I know restaurants have had challenges with staffing during COvid but I wanted to shout out the great service from Connor, Travis and Duncan. Can’t wait to come back.
I had the shepherd's pie. It was really good. The house wine was good, too.
Well I've been to this place many times over the last ten yrs but tonight will be the last. First off the manager tells me that they serve cod instead of halibut as their fish and chips BC it's to expensive. I used to love coming here for fish and chips but no more. Speaking of expensive...$10 for a shot of Jack Daniels. I'm not asking for Johnny Walker Blue Label. My friend ordered a crown float, they came back and made it with a different beer other than Guiness BC they were out, and didn't tell her. Worst experience ever!
Amazing pub! We loved the food and the service was wonderful. We enjoyed the Irish poutine, bangers and mash, and the brownie sundae. All of it was over the top fantastic. Finally, our server moved here from Ireland recently.
An excellent meal with great service and attentive staff. The Shepherds Pie and Irish Stew are not to be missed.
Great live music good variety of Irish whiskey, beers ciders ..took 40 minutes to get food very busy
The $9 before 9 breakfast is totally worth it. My coworker was hoping to find a full British breakfast while we were here, and the full Irish breakfast made him very happy. Also, returned in the evening for the sticky toffee pudding, which is excellent!
Absolutely fantastic atmosphere, super cozy, warm and inviting. Alex was our server and she is hands down one of the best servers I have ever had in my entire life. I eat out quite often and she is truly amazing and really cares about her customers. The food was excellent as well, had the Shepard's pie and the Irish stew and both were really good. All together it was a very memorable experience, I would come back here for sure. Ask for Alex if you go, she is truly a ray of light.
A pretty busy but eventful pub. Really good service from the staff and the food was also quite delicous. Definitely got a ton of seating even when you think there isn't somewhere to sit on a busy night. I would definitely go again. They made a great Half & Half and the Bangers and Mash was great!
The working team is very good and place is awesome where you can spend your quality time
Amazing, the service is one of the best I've had in Victoria, the drinks menu has a variety like the food menu so many to choose from! Attention to detail with the uniform is on point! Proud Irishman who will definitely check this place out again
Friendly staff, great environment, wonderful design for the building and extremely quick service. I went in with the expectation of a really good poutine (based on other reviews) but was somewhat disappointed by the lack of savoury taste in the gravy. Food was good, but not my favourite poutine.
Great breakie . Happy hour all day sunday
Great food and service! We had 3 separate meals and all were great
Food was amazing Service was great. Very Friendly
Only been here once since in the 18 months ive been here and can say that I enjoyed my experience with yall; decent food, decent price, really good customer service !
Service
Great place in Victoria to stop for a bite. Also excellent $9 breakfast.
Good food good beer specials
Awesome and lovely time we had here tonight. They offer the amazing happy hour prices with such a nice quality food and drinks. The hospitality was typical feel of a European (Sorry Irish !!) Culture and it reminded me of London :).
Great food and very good selection of Irish beers! Lost a star for a restricted menu (no-one to make salads for instance). I think they we’re struggling to staff the kitchen the day we visited (who isn’t right now?). This is one of downtown Victoria’s great spaces…..well worth dropping buy for lunch or dinner.
Great fish and chips, nice beer and good service
It was a fantastic night here with live music, which is energetic and lots of stories behind them. The food was good we ordered fish & chips and two kinds of beers.
The food tasted great, and the service was pretty good, but the portions really didn't match the prices. Especially the Shepherds Pie. And apparently coleslaw is hard to come by, judging from the tiny spoonful that came with the fish and chips.
Felt safe & well taken care of on their patios. It was a nice reintegration back into eating out after a year long hiatus. Had their West Coast rice bowl with Salmon - YUM!!
The food was ok. I really wanted the avacado shrimp salad, unfortunately they could not prepare it due to staff shortage. The rest of my party enjoyed the beer and food.
Decent happy hour, be sure to arrange the wet wipes In the below pattern to unlock the savings! Good live music, but don't sit to close if you want to be able to hear each other talk.
Consistently good food, great service from Lynne, especially considering EVERYONE is short staffed these days. I really like the location- it's great for people watching.
Love that this is the official pub of the best team in the world; Liverpool FC. Go Liverpool Go England!
Fantastic local pub. Great live music and great selection of drinks, but the food is only adequate yet overpriced.
Great vibe, good service, good old fashioned decor, descent happy hr. Good cesars and selection of beer and spirits, just a great icon in the heart of Victoria
Lunch
Irish stew with soda bread was delicious, with thick beef chunks. Absolutely perfect on a cold winter day! Chicken wings with sweet chili was to die for!! Service was great and sitting at a table by the window made the experience even better.
Lovely wait staff. We shared a flight. Went there to enjoy the music....it was good, but not Irish music as I had hoped.

Irish Times protocols were perfect and we went 2 times during our visit. Great staff especially the door man Saturday Night, and I told him so. The food was particularly excellent and the second visit was the live music evening. Great crowd, friendly staff, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will definitely return again.
I am usually quite relaxed about restaurant service but unfortunately I did not have a good experience here. Was seated promptly but did not even get looked at for twenty minutes, despite multiple staff walking by our table, and us gesturing to staff that we were clearly ready to order. I understand being busy, however at least three tables in our vicinity got seated after us and were served. Dont think they even noticed we left which is very disappointing. On our way out we wondered if it was worth giving this feedback in person but as we left there was literally no one around to provide it to.
Good place for a nice talk, really feels like an Irish pub, real good beers and the ambiance is gorgeous, also there's live music
Food selection not that great but whiskey selection is! Live music on a Thur night was fantastic
Free live Irish music and great food good beer busy atmosphere and good service this place is top notch
Service
Very decent Irish bar. Great service. Always difficult to find a good Guinness outside of Ireland but the one here passes the test - both the pour and the taste! Good selection of food and other drinks. Nice patio and indoor seating options.
The cocktails were strong and delicious, didn't try any food however. The inside of the pub is absolutely stunning, and the live music made our visit unforgettable. Service was decently quick, and our waitress was super friendly and outgoing!
Went in for a quick drink and snack on the way out of town. Was nice to just sit at the bar, watch some sport on TV and have a snack of hot chips (fries). They could pour a Guinness and they have a large menu for dinner options if you wanted to come for that. I reckon it would be nice as the service was quick and there were lots of tables for small or large group, even an upstairs!
My husband & I stopped in here a couple times on our recent visit to Victoria. All the staff are super friendly. Delicious food, great service. Very cozy and comfortable.
Great place! I've been going here for a decade. Great Irish themed (and non-Irish themed) food and the service is great.
Great environment and fantastic food. They have gluten free bun options and wait staff is super friendly.
We love this place. They are family friendly, great staff and the food we ordered was excellent - flavorful and satisfying. They had local craft beers which was nice. We also loved the traditional Irish Pub look and feel. We are making lunchie at this pub a family tradition whenever we visit Victoria.
A local staple, must go if in the city. The atmosphere in the bar is superb, the live music is sweet. I’d skip the food though
Cozy Irish atmosphere + nice staff + draft Guinness = perfect happy hour.
Great happy hour daily from 3-6pm. Awesome patio and generally great service. Some of the best "pub food" in Victoria.
Great service and great food. The atmosphere was just like being back in Ireland.
Amazing atmosphere! Great service and great food and beer selection. Only two Copper mugs though for Moscow Mules. Lol
Food was excellent, with pub standards of Irish stew and Shepherd's Pie. Good selection of local beer but somewhat pedestrian - nothing exciting.

Great food. Great service. Great music.
Fantastic musicians and beautiful pub. Sound level was dangerously high. I checked with a meter app on my phone. anything above 80dB for an extended period can cause damage. Meter was hitting 90 at times.
We stopped by on a warm afternoon, we sat on the patio to watch the the world go by (great place by the way)our waitress recommended the the Prosecco sangria, Wow was she right.. it came in a pitcher full of fresh fruit and berries and the taste was perfect, really hit the spot( Highly Recommend). For lunch we ordered the Halibut fish and chips, great portions and the Halibut was so fresh. For an Irish pub in Canada Great place... highly recommend.
Made a reservation for 8:00pm. Unfortunately we walked there, got lost didn't arrive till 8:17pm. Lost our seat. They only hold tables for 15 min. Understandable for they were very busy. However they did seat us at the bar and within 5 minutes got a great seat Near a window and good view of live music, which is the reason we were hear. So a long story shorter, love the pub, food looks great. Will post on food later. Music about to start....ya and they went out of their way to seat us, Thank you.
Good food, atmosphere, beautiful pub. It's in a wonderfully preserved period building that must have incredible stories to share. Would prefer to see more dessert options. Im general thanks for a memorable stop on our Victoria adventure!
I am welcomed every time. Good service. Good coffee. Good management
No AC! VERY hot, reccomend sitting outside. Nachos are pretty terrible but their curly fries are the bomb. Bangers and Mash is 10/10.
We tried drinks here last night. The Empress 75 was awesome and their cauliflower tyger wings are must try.
Fish and chips, unimpressed. West coast bowl with salmon was good (I would give it a 4 star), Irish coffee - the coffee was not hot enough and the double shots of whisky was on the weak side.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, great food! Highly recommend if you want a wonderful time
Went there for a staff dinner, lovely cozy environment and satisfying service experience. But I didn’t liked their food (especially chicken wings) they were dry and cold.
Perfect ambience; friendly staff; El Jefe Margarita- a must try
Good food and drinks. Nice service
Awesome place to stop after a long walk thru the city to get a bite or a drink. Meet some friends for some live music and good conversation. Food and service are great. Prices are very affordable for most families. Awesome decor in three levels...a must see and eat at.
Stopped here for lunch and the food and drink were both fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The food was delicious! Great service and drinks!
This portion is very large and tasteful! They have all the local beers on the tap.
Very friendly and attentive staff. Amazing tap beer selection.
WOW!, wife and I went into the Irish Times pub for a quick lunch, on entry we were advised that we had great timing as it was ,"happy hour". I don't drink very much, and rarely order drinks in a restaurant, but thought I would as it was "happy hour". My drink came in a 2 1/2" high juice glass, filled with ice and a little coloring. Wasn't even close to what I ordered, but as a happy hour cheap drink I didn't complain. .my wife had a small glass of wine. When the bill came the 2 drinks came to $30,00, that was just the drinks, the food we knew exactly, but $30.00 worth of drinks never!!! I don't care how charming a place is if you are going to gouge your customers, you can't expect them to return! Food was OK. Won't be returning there ever again, especially with good places to eat in the immediate area.
Was great food..and great service..nice atmosphere
Such character about this place. The staff are fun, the space is huge and the music is great. lots of Irish charm. A must visit if you're in Victoria. We visited at Christmas time and the whole place was such a vibe.
Really great place to crash and have some happy food.

Great food and vibe! We sat on the patio. I had the mac and cheese which was delectable. The drink menu is great. I tried the mimosa flight that was just perfect! Totally recommend visiting.
Good food. Good service. Good beer.
Service
delicious virgin bellini & wonderful outdoor seating area. lots of foot traffic passing by, but i did not mind. food was very yummy too all from the happy hour menu!
Friendly and very helpful server staff. Good happy hour deals!
This place is amazing!!!! We stopped in for drinks and some food, as we had been walking around Victoria all day. The atmosphere was amazing, very rich decor, and lovely wait staff. The food was great. We ordered the yam fries, and shepherds pie. As far as drinks are concerned, we got a flight of Scotches, black and tans, and an Irish Sour. Live music topped off the experience. A definite must for your trip to Victoria.
Nice place inside, live music. Great service and wonderful food.
Good vibes and friendly staffs. The drinks was great as well!
Awesome ! Irish poutine is a must-have. Great atmosphere. Great service. Great irish band. Go there ....you won't be disappointed!
Visited the Irish Times for a fun evening of folk music last night. The building is beautiful and had a lot of history. The staff are friendly, and pour a good pint of Guinness. The food was fine, but not great. I wasn’t impressed with the scotch egg, but the wings and prawns were good. We really enjoyed the music and overall vibe. This morning when walking by I noticed the Irish and Canadian flags hanging out front as well. I was pretty disappointed to see how tattered they are, and hope the Manager sees this review and decides to do something about replacing them. There is a flag shop just a couple blocks down ;)
Butter Chicken Poutine was amazing! The service was great and the atmosphere was perfect for relaxing after walking around downtown all day.
Great food, great service and music!
I absolutely loved the atmosphere here, and the music was great. However, my partner and I were quite disappointed with the food. The shepherd's pie was wildly mediocre and the salad my partner ordered was lacking much dressing. I'd go back, but I'll stick to drinks and go somewhere else for food.
It's okay. Used to be better. The drink prices are insane. Food is not so badly priced but the quality has gone down. The thing that really put me off was my last visit. We went for brunch as brunch was advertised on their site and they had signs out front indicating that they served breakfast. We were seated, ordered drinks and then when the waitress came to take our order she informed us they were not doing brunch that day as it was too busy. As we were out for brunch we left. It was really irritating as we came down from Metchosin. So probably won't bother with them anymore.
An excellent place to have great beer and very good pub food. We had visitors from Ontario with us, and we each had different meals and drinks. Our server Chloe did an awesome job, making us feel welcome and ensuring we enjoyed ourselves. The shepherds pie was very rich and tasty, the corned beef and cabbage was excellent, and everyone was tasting each other's meal. The location is excellent if you want a quick or more leisurely meal as well. Highly recommend this Victoria landmark! They have added quite a bit of outside seating to keep things safe!
Great fish n chips. Check out the happy hour!
Delicious food, good music and perfect ambiance!
I was very surprised how enjoyable my dining experience was. It's a beautiful space - old bank building with hardwood and marble over two-levels, with 'snug' areas. Being a bar, it's an energetic atmosphere with live music (in the evening) and genuinely friendly and fun service and staff. There is covered outdoor seating available, as well. They had no Mulled Wine! (It's on their menu but served seasonally.) Nevertheless, an expansive drinks selection is offered. I ordered the Hot Turkey Sandwich which came with a mound of stuffing (so good), plenty of turkey on-top-of white bread, two scoops of mashed potatoes, gravy and cranberry sauce for $18. I know now where to go for my next Christmas dinner! And Easter. A memorable feast. As I mentioned, it's a lively space. In the "McCarthy's Snug" was a family with two young children: bar-chatter and exuberance could be heard - I visited at 8pm - but wasn't too intrusive. Prices are reasonable, serving size and food quality above average, service and staff friendly and professional. I would visit again, definitely. Yes, I'd recommend the Irish Times Pub and recommend reservations for a snug or upstairs seating.
Great place and great staff. Big shout out to Cody.
Great place with good atmosphere and the band totally smashed it! Topped it off by chatting to some lovely locals
I didn't want to review this place because it's my favorite pub in town. Sometimes it's too busy to get in and that's just a shame. Amazing atmosphere, really good food, great Irish influenced music scene, excellent staff. I love this pub
Happy hour is great here. Snacks delicious. We sat outdoors. Covid safe

The 2 piece Fish and Chips dinner was perfect with a pint of Harps.

I really enjoyed this place. I am a coffee lover, and I can assure you that the coffee served here is one of the best that I ever tried. The warmer I tried was irish coffee that comes with frangelico and homemade whipped cream. (Can't remember the exact name) it was Incredible!!! BTW I had for brunch, waffles and toast with avocado spread. Highly recommended, very fresh ingredients, worth prices and I can't forgot to mention that the server was very nice and friendly. I will come back for sure!!
Best place to take a break from your life ,,
Great experience, very atmospheric place! Came during happy hour, very reasonable prices. Nice service as well. Wish I lived on Victoria so I could visit this pub much more often
Enjoyed lunch and a few brews here while strolling through beautiful Victoria, BC. Had the corned beef grilled cheese sandwich and it was tasty. The food here is quite good and the Irish Pub ambiance is spot on. Lots of TV's for watching your favorite sporting events as well.
Ummm this is actually a sick pub! It's in the touristy area so you kind of expect it to be kitschy or something, but it was great. Killer staff, killer room - and what a Killer band last night!
We ordered a Ruben and times salad. The Ruben was very small especially for the price ! The times salad is like the dressing is a strawberry yogurt !!! And very greedy with candied nuts. Alcohol more expensive than others places around. 1st time and last time. Sorry
This was my first visit to an Irish Pub and I can see why this one is rated as Victoria's best! The service was great, the food was great and the staff was very friendly. The best corned beef sandwich that I have ever had! My son's pizza was very good too! They had some local favorites like Poutine (fries with gravy and cheese curds, Yum!) Fish and chips, and Mac n Cheese! The building was beautiful and very nicely decorated! Lots of atmosphere!
One of the best places in victoria. Loved the interior decoration and the vibe
Didn't have to wait to long for a table. Covid restrictions are in place. The staff were friendly and welcoming as always! Not the same as it used to be but still the best pint around!
The wors food t on the government strip. Don’t waste your time and money!!!
Usually a pretty busy place, nice atmophere, food is usually good. Prices are a little up there, but almost every time the food has been great. My only complaint really is that they used to offer brunch, and Im sure many locals have had their "Little Irish breakfast" once or twice. My last visit here, was for brunch (around June 2021), I LOVE their little irish breakfast, that was the whole reason for this particular visit for my friend and I. However, it took awhile for the server to arrive (it's a popular place, I get it, I'm pretty patient), I let my server know that I would like the Little Irish Breakfast, (It was well within their breakfast/brunch time frame so it wasnt like I was trying to order this at 3pm or anything). The server informed me that because they don't have any kitchen staff, they couldnt make that, BUT their substitute offer was their FULL Size All-day breakfast item, with the EXACT same food items just a larger portion. I was a bit confused as to why I wasn't allowed to order their $12 Little irish breakfast, but am allowed to order their $18 breakfast that had the EXACT same food items. It felt a bit like a rip off, but again, this has always been a lovely place to eat. From what I'm told now, they have since taken brunch of their menu, fingers crossed it comes back soon.
Stunning woodworking, i love that look of this place. They have a great atmosphere. Live music, friendly staff, and quick table service.
Excellent food and drinks and the service was great. Thank you for a wonderful time
