Been going here a couple times a year to restock the wine cellar. With covid, slight change to the tasting, used to be free now you pay $15 and pick 3 2oz each. Unfortunately they didn't have all available wines available to taste so lost some potential for me to purchase those. Patio is beautiful to sit and enjoy your tastings.

Since I've been Engaged, THIS was the place I was getting married & having my reception. There wasn't a doubt in my mind. This was the one to beat. I went to visit this place with my M.O.H to see if it is everything I had hoped it was... It was as beautiful as I thought it was... The woman I dealt with was not the coordinator, but a staff member who did not introduce herself. I had a few general questions to ask since my wedding is a few years away, thought I'd get a head start. She did not offer any additional information, I asked a question and she answered it (that's fine) but she wasn't friendly, she was actually very snarky. By the end of my few questions she asked if there was any other questions we had for her, we didn't. She had mentioned since we were paying for a certain amount of gyest anyways "maybe I should rethink my guest list". She also said that since my wedding date is in their "busy" season I can also "reconsider changing my wedding date". Then she had made a comment "I can explain everything to you but you won't remember any of the information, no offense or anything"... I was so shocked by that comment. She doesnt know me.The way she said was even worse. The entire time I was there, she made me feel like "I couldn't afford this place" but she had no right. This WAS my place... she took that away from me... I couldn't believe how heartbroken I was by how unprofessional this woman was! She was RUDE & even my M.O.H was shocked walking back to the car. I sat in my car & teared up thinking, this WAS my place. How can someone who works with people getting married, people who are so excited & happy, be so rude & disrespectful. NOT OK!!!

Got married here. Everyone loved it and I still continue to hear that this was the best wedding they had ever been to. beautiful grounds, lots to see and explore. Food was excellent. Penny was a great coordinator, kind of felt like a cruise ship director. Bit of work going through music with their In house Dj (was not allowed to have our own) we did a lot of extra decoration work ourselves. Flowers, vintage dinnerware and table arrangements. deep roots is one of the best wines in the region

Found this gem of a winery by accident. My significant other and I had a wonderful wine tasting on their very large patio. I am not a wine connoisseur by any stretch but I really enjoyed the selections. I was very partial to the cranberry wine. Before you scoff, give it a go you will be very pleasantly surprised. Also, I am someone who is sensitive to wine and low quality wine will give me headache. None of the wines gave me a headache. Which is surprising considering that I mixed different wines. So that is a gauge I use for quality and Hernder did well by that metric. Also the grounds are stunning. If you have the time to go it is really worth it. I am definitely coming back! I also left with a few bottles including the cranberry!

Not one of our guests had a bad time, We've been receiving phone calls, text messages, and emails from our guests saying how amazing the venue is and how much of a great time they had.

My sister got married here on the weekend. It was fantastic. Food was great, wine was even better. Big thanks to Penny, the on-day, on-site wedding coordinator. This wedding wouldn't have been nearly as smooth with you! The lady Angel who is supposed to be the other wedding coordinator was very hard to get a hold of through my sister which was a bit of pain.

Tasting room open and welcoming, like the staff. The wines luscious and beautiful, like the outdoor seating area. The attitude of the place hospitable, generous and down to earth, like the people and places you most enjoy. Bev served us complimentary samples with a down home twist and a twinkle of humour - then we enjoyed lunch brought from home with a bottle of their Reisling on their sun-splashed patio overlooking a covered bridge and vineyards as far as the eye can see. You can't get any better than that, period.

I have visited Hernder Estates several times and during our time of quarantine, have done both curb side pick up and drop off (because I couldn’t possibly live without their amazing wine). Everyone that works there is AMAZING, helpful and so kind. I’ve brought family members to tastings there and turned so many friends into their great wine. I can’t recommend them enough!

I did the 8 winery ice wine tour. And this one was my absolute favorite. I'm not an expert in ice wine. However I really enjoyed it. Had a taste of their carbinet savignon and I was impressed. Bought some Vino to take home. The vineyard is beautiful in January, must be immaculate in July.

FIVE STARS! If you are thinking about having your wedding here - just do it! The entire planning process was extremely well organized, and Angel was there at every turn to answer questions along the way. Our wedding was on July27, 2018 and on that day Penny and Craig executed our reception beautifully. The food was delicious (buffet style) and so many of our guests commented on how good it was! The DJ did an amazing job with our Caribbean playlist and had people on the dance floor till the very end of the night. We can't say enough good things about Hernder!

My favourite winery! Always coming back to this beautiful place! I just enjoy their wine, they have a variety of really great choices. My favourite is Deep Roots Cabernet Franc! The ambient is fantastic! Now you can relax indoor by the fireplace and you don't need to make reservation. The staff is fun, very knowledgable and entertaining! Even though yesterday was murky, cold day, their staff and wine put me in a good mood!

I had a complimentary tasting that I guess was not welcomed very well at your winery. Too bad because I usually buy a case of wine. You should treat your customers as guests not an inconvenience or beggars. I am an event coordinator at a big hotel and I will not be recommending your facility.

Beautiful venue with beautiful views and fabulous staff with wonderful food. We attended a wedding at Hernder Estate Wines and from the tasting event during the organization phase to the final event it was a very pleasant experience. The owners and event coordination staff are extremely friendly. They offer a varied range of options regarding involvement of your event which is wonderful. The venue has two levels, both of which are beautiful but offering a different ambience and size. The views and areas around the venue offer some of the most beautiful photo opportunities for your event. There are vineyards, a pond, a beautiful bridge and the outside of the venue itself. The staff during the event are fabulous. The food is some of the best I have tasted in my 45 years alive. Truly worth every dollar. Overall an extremely easy and pleasing experience.

Our violin and cello duo recently performed at Hernder for a wedding ceremony, and there is much to recommend. The staff know their stuff, and the sites are lovely, if a tad exposed to the elements. The bridge is also a great location for photos. Recommended.

Terrible service! I have been trying to get a hold of Angel (wedding planner) for weeks and sent emails with no response. I called back and spoke to Beth who was really rude on the phone. "She is at home today and I cannot give you her number." I never asked for her number. Very rude people and unprofessional! I wouldn't want this service at my wedding anyway, especially not for $25 000...Oh well

My sister recently got married here and Penny (coordinator) did a fantastic job. The location is beautiful and the staff are excellent at taking care of the guests. We have a lot of dietary restrictions and Hernder accommodated us amazingly. I would highly recommend making this dream location the spot for your vineyard inspired wedding.

I can appreciate you were busy but after trying to get your attention, your staff ignored us to serve other patrons who came in after we did. We have been members of several Niagara wineries for a long time and never experienced such service. Jan 26, 2020 3:00PM, Visited for the icewine discovery pass event. Waited over 10 minutes for service which never came. Tried to wave for service but the guy looked at me and just ignored me. Everyone seemed very disorganized, bumping into each other and knocking bottles over. Get your act together! Got fed up and left!

We had our wedding at Hernder Estate Winery on August 26, 2017 and we had the most fabulous day! Everything was perfect. The staff were amazing and the food received rave reviews including the dessert table! Our guests danced until the wee hours of the morning and talked about how great the DJ was. We couldn't have asked for anything more...we absolutely loved it! Penny and Craig make a great team and Angel was extremely helpful with the arrangements ahead of time. I was relaxed and just enjoyed the day. I would highly recommend Hernder Estate Winery for any special occasion...they are awesome!!

We were there for a wedding. The venue was clean and beautiful. The staff were very friendly. The food was absolutely amazing and they even accomodated allergies that they didn't know about in advance. I can't comment on their wine because I can't have alcohol, but the others at the table seemed to enjoy it. I would definitely recommend it as a special events venue!

My fiance brought me to hernder for a wine tasting, I'm not much of a wine drinker, but she just had cancer surgery this week and it was our first outing. She works as a events coordinator for a large hotel and had complimentary vouchers. We walked in and were approached by not one but 2 managers who seemed to have a problem with the vouchers. One commented, give them an ounce, like we were beggars looking for a free drink, then the other manager also questioned the voucher saying he hasn't seen those in a couple of years. Needless to say we walked out insulted and took our business elsewhere, and spent over $100 for drinks and a snack. Worst first and last experience at a winery.

My husband and I had our wedding here last 2 weeks ago and are incredibly happy with how everything turned out. From our first tour of the venue till we picked up our decor the day after the wedding Angel was nothing but amazing! She was incredibly professional and an insane help during the entire planning process. On the day of the wedding, Penny was just outstanding. She made sure everything went perfectly and was such an amazing support during the day and night. We received so many comments from family and friends about how beautiful the venue was and how incredible the food tasted - and we couldn't agree more with them! It was the most perfect day at the most perfect location with incredible staff! Also, our bartender Christian was simply the best! We would highly recommend Hernder to anyone looking for a perfect rustic wedding at a beautiful vineyard!

Very poor customer service here. If you are looking to plan a wedding think twice about it. We received absolutely zero communication from the wedding coordinator and the other staff snapped on us for trying to contact the coordinator. Seems like they are sick of it themselves.

My daughter got married here in September 29th we had booked patio but it started to rain , the staff quickly moved the ceramony inside to our venue and it was beautiful!!! Came here for a summer wedding and the outdoor ceremony was so nicely done! They had lots of staff standing nearby, who were quick to notice when late guests like myself arrived and needed more chairs to be brought out. The ceremony could be seen from the road so not sure if everyone would enjoy that. The wedding pictures turned out gorgeous and there were lots of scenery options available. While the bridal party took their pictures, the guests were free to roam and there was also a mini wine tour, which I loved! That was a great touch and good way to pass the time. 1 star off because the reception room we were in was a little awkward and felt a tad crowded. There were some tables that were tucked away to the side or very far in the back.. so it didn't feel like all the tables flowed.

Was at the winery today for the ice wine festival, place was not busy but was totally ignored. Very disorganized staff. Much better experience with other wineries. Customer service has to be priority. I have wine club membership at 2 other wineries and customer service is very professional.

My mother and I came for a wine tasting, I have never been so disappointed in my life with a place. When we visited we chose our wines and then were told to sit in a room. There was not much info supplied about the wines, the descriptions were rather lack luster, saying dry or fruity not much to go off of. I selected, fizzy business, their pinot grigio, the riesling and the ice wine vidal. The fizzy business was okay and the ice wine was decent however the pinot was disgusting, I have never not been able to finish a glass of wine before but I could not get over the smell or the taste. I doubt this was a bad bottle because the riesling was equally as bad. The sad part is no one ever checked in and ask how the wine was, to be honest they weren't that busy. The costumer service was not the greatest and the wine was not drinkable. I would not recommend this winery to anyone. As a person that works in the Niagara tourism business I know how important customer service is. Following that, tourists and wine lovers love to be educated on the wine and the winery itself, not push away into a room alone. I felt that the staff was not passionate about their wine or their practice. This was supposed to be the last stop on our tasting trip but we could not end on this bad note or with the bad taste in our mouths. I highly recommend going to Alvento , it is just down the road and it was the best stop on our trip. The best wine I have had in ages! Support this smaller winery instead you can see their passion in winemaking and it reflects in their wine.

Scenic Hernder Estates offers lush greenery and vines for backdrop with the iconic covered bridge. The service is exemplary and the wine drinking with flat breads, on their patio was as perfect as the blue sky above on the day we went.
