My wife and I checked out Orchard View in the summer of 2009 to host our wedding reception and we were very satisfied with how the place looked. A beautiful landscape and a nicely decorated hall next to their man-made pond made the place very elegant. Needless to say that was the extent of the good part. The bad part was having to deal with their contract managers. During our first meeting with one of their event-planners, we were promised many things regarding our special day. They even said they were giving us a special discount! So within a few weeks I sign off the contract with them and then that is when the truth came out. Apparently the discount they were giving us only applied if we provided more than 150 guests, which the contractor failed to mention during the first meeting. On top of that hidden assumption, the contractor mentions to us that they can only move the dance floor (movable pieces of fake wood!) if we were to rent both their banquet halls and not just the one we needed. Again brought to our attention after we signed the contract. Overall, the place is great and very nice, however be very careful dealing with their event coordinators and make sure you write down everything you agree on from the beginning. Learn from my experience because images can be deceiving. Good luck on your party planning! Ahmed Y.

We had our wedding at Orchard View in September 2016 on the North Grounds (gazebo and Lakeview room). The grounds are so beautiful and well-kept, which made for a beautiful day and gorgeous photos. Definitely the #1 pro of an Orchard View wedding is the gorgeous venue with the beautiful gardens, trees, lake, bridges, and elk. The Lakeview room is also a show-stopper; the big chandelier is gorgeous and the room is bright and airy. Overall, the food was delicious and the service was really good. The chef accommodated our special food request/upgrade for a reasonable cost. A few members of the staff were super wonderful and helpful. We had some issues leading up to and on our wedding day (mostly miscommunication), but we were impressed with how management handled it. They are truly committed to making sure their clients are satisfied and we really appreciate that. We would definitely recommend Orchard View to other couples!

Beautiful venue, and hard working staff. Went to a wedding there recently and it was great. the decor and layout was great, the area outside is beautiful. The only bad thing I found was the bride and groom's taste test did not match the meal presented during the day. They did not enjoy their meals and said it was not like their tasting. I agreed and found the food to be lacking if possible I would be rating it a 3.5 star, because the meal plays a huge part of the reception.

This place is very nice and private as a wedding venue. But the food was decent. We attended a wedding there and had squash soup, chicken as main course, and creme brulle as dessert. The creme brulle tastes too strong, you can taste a burnt taste. The main is decent. The soup was pretty good.

When looking for a venue we wanted somewhere that could accommodate our dog and was within our budget but didn't feel like a cheap place. Thankfully, we found Orchardview! The team was so quick to reply to my emails and meeting with them just solidified our decision, they were nice and helpful and it really came through they wanted to make our dream wedding come true! After signing with them, they were always in contact with us to ask if we needed help or had questions and gave us little reminders of important dates like sending invitations. They were also so accommodating for having our dog in our wedding which was a must for us. On the day of the wedding, they worked so hard for us to have a slideshow up and running that we had made but wasn't able to play - we are so greatful for their hard work on it because it made our wedding to have it up and playing! We were in the smaller of the two rooms (the rooms are separated by a soundproof divisor) and you couldn't hear the other wedding going on next door, it was wonderful! The grounds were so clean and well kept with gorgeous photo opportunities, the food very delicious, the service was excellent, the sign out front saying our names made us feel like celebrities, and the new interior renos looked amazing. I would highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for a memorable wedding day!

I had my wedding their in the Fall. It was magical. The service was beyond belief, they went out of their way to get what I wanted and if they couldn't they would suggest something else which was even better. The service was phenominal considering most of the staff are hired by temp agencies. The food was excellent, all my guests loved it. And yes they do ask for special meals if someone is alergic to something and they can't eat certain meals. They are always there to accomodate. The venue/location was beautiful. I recommend this place to everyone. Quite a few of my guest eventually got married there and had parties there. #1

We had our wedding ceremony at Orchard View in late June and it was such a lovely experience from start to finish. Orchard View offered a micro-ceremony package that was unbeatable, from the price and location to the attentive and friendly staff. The grounds were beautiful, well maintained and serene. The office staff were also very accommodating and made sure I had all the information I needed prior to our wedding day to ensure all safety protocols were followed. I would recommend this venue for any social event just based on the service, location and grounds!

We went for Cracking Up the Capital and I have to say that, although the staff may have been pleasant, the food was some of the worst I've ever tasted. You guys cater weddings?? I do not believe it. The "food options" were chicken fingers, sliders, fries, salad and pasta with two kinds of suspect sauces. The sliders were obviously of the lowest quality beef that could be legally sold. The fries were lukewarm and tasteless ($8.00 for a 80 fries!!!! Are you kidding me?). The Caesar salad was small and uninteresting. No friend of mine will ever get married there.

I attended the St. Francis Xavier pre prom on June 1, 2018. The staff at Orchard View was very attentive and the service was great. There were 700 people who attended, and at all times, the staff made sure that everything was organized, well maintained and that all the sandwich, fruit and veggie platters were freshly stocked up. i would not be surprised if the school had it there next year for how good of service they provided.

My wife and I got married there this past weekend. I've got to give them 5 stars. Getting married during covid was ridiculously stressful and unpredictable. Lianna went above and beyond for us. Multiple checkups on us not only while planning, but also the morning of. Us guys were also given the second bridal suite to get ready in for free, which made everything easier for us. The staff we had were very friendly and professional. One of the bartender (blond woman, sorry can't remember her name) was amazing. She would bring out tons of shots/drinks at once and didn't mess up any orders. There is so much good things I could say about this venue. First it is incredibly priced and one of the most beautiful places in Ottawa for a wedding. The staff are also incredible! Everything for our wedding day was so perfect! Evelyn and Dave were super hands on and on top of all the little details. Having our wedding at Orchard View was everything we could have wished for and more. The beautiful and well-maintained grounds with a pond were perfect for our pictures, the gazebo fit our 155 guests for the ceremony, and the tent overlooking the pond was a great place for our cocktail hour. However, what made our experience truly exceptional was the amazing skills, attention to detail, responsiveness and kindness of Evelyn Hope, the onsite wedding coordinator. Honestly, she was a godsend. We appreciated her professionalism, expertise, input and cheerfulness as she helped coordinate our wedding. Her prompt replies really helped us finalize all of the plans in a short period of time. She worked excellently with all of our vendors, she was incredibly organized, and on the day of our wedding she was very attentive and ensured the service was top notch. Also, the food at Orchard View was mouth watering and the servers were great. We had the mixed grill dinner with a delicious NY cheesecake, and also many guests mentioned how delicious the appetizer soup was. All in all, we had an excellent experience at Orchard View. We'd definitely choose it again. Thanks to everyone who made our day so special last year!

Even though the location was beautiful, the service was, frankly put, horrific and the food was terribly bland. I was a bridesmaid at my friend's wedding there. Besides the food being awful, a girl at my table was allergic to nuts and informed the staff before she was served anything that she was allergic to nuts. The last course, dessert, arrived and again she asked if there were any nuts (it was apple pie - with nuts!). The server said no and she proceeded to take a bite, her tongue instantly swelling and she had to immediately spit the food out and use her epi-pen. She called her boyfriend to take her home early and that was the end of the party for her. How absolutely irresponsible and I would never recommend this place to anyone. One last comment is that almost everyone in the bride's party had something go missing, and the personal toasting glasses of the bride and groom were never found and returned.

Catering staff were awful, kept dropping things food was soso, cash bar had issues with the til not opening and card machine kept cancelling the transaction. Place was mostly beautiful with just the main building needing some TLC. Overall. Go for the ceremony but take the reception elsewhere.

My husband and I got married September 3, 2016 at Orchard view wedding and conference centre and they ensured we had the wedding of our dreams! We can't say enough good things about Orchard View! We got married under the beautiful gazebo and took all of our pictures on the grounds. The service was exceptional and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. The food was AMAZING. Not one of our guests had any complaints and everyone left with a full stomach. Our wedding coordinator Amanda went above and beyond - she was a complete joy to work with and really helped take my ideas/vision and bring it to life. Through Orchard View, we were able to pick a beautiful decor package with Pearl Decor and personalize it to ensure the venue was decorated to perfection. My husband and I would recommend Orchard View Wedding and Conference Centre to any couples looking for the wedding of their dreams! We can't thank them enough for our dream wedding!!

Orchard view is an excellent place to get married. My husband and I had a small outdoor wedding under the pergola. The manager Julia was excellent and was able to accommodate all our requests (allergies, heating lamps at the last minute, change of centerpieces due to wind, earlier dinner due to weather). She worked tirelessly on the day of the wedding to make sure everything was perfect. The grounds are beautiful and the food was excellent. The staff took care of any issues that arose seamlessly. We are extremely happy with the service, quality and professionalism. I would recommend this venue for any celebration. Thank you Nancy & Michael

I just had a wonderful wedding with Orchard View 2 days ago and everyone had a great time. The venue is gorgeous, the staff are very pleasant and the food was quite tasty. We did go through a change in Wedding Coordinators halfway through between booking and the actual wedding date and the transition wasn't as smooth as it could be, but the new Coordinator was happy to help as best she could. Our first dealing was Orchard View left a lasting positive impression. We were looking for an outdoor venue for a small group (roughly 50 people) and many venues wouldn't bother with us. Orchard View was the first to take the stance of "how can we accommodate YOU". It was clear that they were genuinely interested in helping my wife and I find a great place for our wedding. Overall, we were very happy with our choice. The upsides are a gorgeous venue that has everything (ceremony location, pretty places for pictures, dining hall for the reception). The only downside was a bit of disorganization with a changeover of Coordinators but in all honesty that is an understandable thing. We would absolutely recommend this venue to others.

My husband and I just got married here a few weeks ago. It is absolutely beautiful, both on the inside and outside. Our pictures look fantastic! The service was great! My husband and I were actually surprised when it came to dinner. We had a buffet, but two staff members took time to serve us our meals! They were very accommodating to the various allergies and dietary restrictions in my bridal party. The food was delicious as well! I would definitely recommend Orchard View for weddings and other events!

Very unhappy with my experience with Orchard View. I was searching for a specific weekend which a certain wedding coordinator from Orchard told me was available. We booked a time to see the place and only when we arrived did she decide to tell us that actually, that date we talked about was now booked. We were quite frustrated with this as she could have saved us the one hour drive by having the courtesy to let us know ahead of time. We decided to do the tour anyways since we were already there. The place is actually beautiful so we asked to check again if either day was available; she took 15 mins to check the date with us waiting outside to come say that actually it was available again. We asked her to put a soft hold on it for us, which she said she would do and would confirm via email. Weeks passed, and no email. We followed up and asked if it was still held for us and we received a very diplomatic answer suggesting a different date for us. Very unprofessional. Very inconsiderate. Would not work with this staff/organization for such an important event.

I was here for a wedding. Every course was bland, undercooked, and almost unedible. Nobody at my table touched their filet mignon because it was literally not cooked. It looked like it had touched the burner for about 3 seconds. The pasta was uncooked as well. Al dente does not describe what we had. The noodles still had crunch to them and it wasn't even warm when I got it and i was at a low numbered table. The salad was actually swimming in balsamic vinagrette, which I hate even in small amounts. The contents of it were in pieces a quarter the size of the dish. It was a mess to eat although it was perhaps the most edible part of the meal. The courses came at a pace of about 1 per hour. I left at around 10pm before desert was even served to go find palatable food elsewhere. I would like to give the benefit of a doubt to them and say maybe because it was a holiday their most professional cooking staff wasn't on shift but.. it doesn't really matter. I'd never go here again. If a friend had a wedding here I'd decline their invitation and tell them exactly why. There's no reason somebody should pay 150 bucks a plate for their guests and get a pile of barely touched ingredients worth maybe 20 dollars.

When Isabella (the wedding coordinator at Orchard View) was there, everything went smoothly and the planning was going very well. Once she left Orchard View for personal reasons, we were given someone else and from there everything started going wrong. We were promised free things as a repeat customer since my sister got married there. As we were getting closer to the wedding, they kept on asking for proof that we were promised these things which I kept on having to show previous emails. On the day of our set up, which was the day before our wedding, we were told to come at a certain time and once we got there, nothing was ready or cleaned. We couldn't set up the tables, names, decorations and the centre pieces. We were so stressed as we wanted the room a specific way. They told us they would do the room themselves the next day (the morning of our wedding) since we weren't going to be able to have time to go in and prepare on the day of our wedding. Which was why we had reserved the day before our wedding to prepare everything. The table cloths that we had ordered and were supposed to be there wasn't there and turned out we couldn't get them anymore which we only found out the day before our wedding. They told us they would get something similar which we ended up seeing on the day of our wedding that the table cloths were completely different then what we wanted and had planned. We had a late night poutine and pizza and a lot of our guests complained that they were never offered or brought poutine (so a lot of our guests did not eat). For the bar, the lady that was supposed to be at the bar was almost never there and would often leave for 20min with guests waiting in line. Even me and my husband had to wait very long before she came back. Eventually we got frustrated and had to go get her in the kitchen so she could come and do her job. So all night we had to go and make sure people were being served. We had often talked to the boss and wedding coordinators about our issues we had during the year and we even had talked to the wedding coordinators and the boss a few days after our wedding since we weren't happy with the services. We had often asked for discounts and even money back on some stuff and we had even asked for discounts after our wedding because of the horrible services and nothing was ever offered back from them and we were never given a bit of money back. We are sad that we had to experience this and have had so much trouble with everyone and the place.

My wife and I got married at Orchard View in September 2021 and without a doubt, there is no better place to say, “I do.” Everything that you are looking for is at Orchard View. The venue is breathtaking on both the inside and the outside. FOOD! Wow! Your guests will not be complaining about the food! We had the bruschetta, mezze, arincini, mini crab cakes, chicken sliders, and coconut shrimp tempura as hor d’oeuvres. All of them were delicious! For dinner we chose the top sirloin and chicken surpreme and both did not disappoint. Great portion sizes. For dessert, Adam recommended the frutti di bosco and it was the best dessert I ever had. Lastly, the owners Adam and Julia are unbelievable human beings. They go above and beyond to make sure your dream day goes the way you want it too. They were always available for a meeting or a phone call! They coordinate with all of your vendors. There are numerous affordable wedding packages and Adam does his absolute best to be flexible with his prices. They truly treat you like royalty and there is no better way to be treated on your wedding day.

Staff was very efficient, the place is so beautiful. In spite it was a raining day because of this facility Karine and Mathieu were able to have there wedding outside. Food was excellent. As a guest from lunch time to 11pm, I don't have anything to complain about. It was a great event.

We chose Orchard View as our wedding venue because we were looking for a place that had it all! They have a beautiful outdoor ceremony site and hall that accommodated our 200 person wedding perfectly. In addition, they have a great bridal suit that made getting ready easy and stress-free as we were at once spot for the entire day . The food was delicious and their service was spectacular. We had many compliments from our guests on how great of time they all had. We had a fabulous experience working with Lianna and Adam. Both of them were very responsive and flexible to all our requests leading up to the wedding. They were very timely with their email responses and were always available for in-person meeting. Everything on the day of was handled perfectly by all the staff. Lianna did a great job of keeping everyone on time and went above and beyond throughout the night to make sure that we had everything that we needed. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a memorable and stress free day.

Has 2 full venews on site both with outdoor wedding chapels indoor eating areas and both with large covered Maquis. Pictures can be taken on nice bridge over the pond or in the gardens. Lots of free paved parking.

Went for a wedding last month. The place is nice but has not changed since 10 years ago when I last went. Its dated now and the wooden sheds and such are showing wear and tear. Also, a lot of mosquitoes in the evening. Was bitten through my suits when outside watching the fireworks. Nay be they should spray the areas close to the water.

We had an excellent experience with Orchard View. The staff was great and patient with all the changes (haha, you know what i'm talking about?) We kept our costs down by doing everything ourselves including decorating, which prevented any issues with things not being available or the right colour. All of our guests went home happy and full of food. They had just renovated the building. Amazingly great looking venue.

I was attending during for an evening event and the food was subpar. We were served the Chicken Parm which came to the table cold. Also the kids meal fries were black, and also cold. I wouldn't recommend this venue.

The experience with this venue was one of the worst you could imagine. Among all other stresses that come with a wedding, it is the job of the venue to make things easy on the clients who are shelling out thousands and thousands of dollars. Orchard view did not do this at all. For starters, they have a reputation of trying to sneak in extra services you didn't ask for into the final price so you pay for them without noticing. We experienced this first hand as they (for example) tried to get us to pay for cheese plates on four different occasions that we specifically said we did not want. This was one of many things that we did not want that they tried to get us to pay for. Their planning manager Lore either didn't do a good job of keeping track of our preferences or they purposely do this to make more money. A week before the wedding they told us that we had paid for only 17 bottles of wine when our contract and payment history with this venue and our planners showed that we actually paid for 40. Do you want another story? We had arranged for the venue to let my wife and her mom to bring fruits and desserts for a dessert table idea that we had. They told us that it was fine right up until THE DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING when Lore called my planner and told her that it wasn't okay. I'm sure Lore and staff has been through a wedding themselves... why on earth someone would cause such stress on a couple who is trying to get married the day before a wedding is beyond me. I told our planner to demand this be corrected and thankfully it was but not before a couple hours of stress the day before our wedding. These stories illustrate what kind of a venue it is and why they have a reputation they do. At the end of the day, if you don't mind the service the actual physical outdoor environment is beautiful. However if you want to have success stories like those you may hear from other venues then this is not the place for you. Sincerely, George

The Orchard View Wedding and Event Centre is a beautiful venue for a wedding or any special occasion. Our event coordinator, Amanda, was very attentive and provided lots of great ideas to make our daughter’s wedding extra special. The food was delicious and the staff was very courteous. They made sure that our guests with food allergies were properly accommodated. The setting is absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend this venue to anyone considering a special event.

Had my wedding here 2 weeks ago and cant stop thinking of how accommodating the people of Orchard View really were to us. In the middle of this pandemic we changed dates many times to try to find a time slot that works for everyone and we were able to have our dream wedding! Food was phenomenal (coming from a picky eater) and the venue was absolutely stunning. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a private wedding party with an amazing interior and exterior. Staff was great and polite as our guests shared with us after. Thanks again to everyone there!

There was a wedding at this venue this past summer and I must say I was impressed with the staff. The head coordinator (can't remember her name - Carole maybe?) was amazing. She kept everything on time and ensured that her clients (the bride and groom) were happy. The venue it self is nice too. I would just say that the hall is on the small side. But other than that the food was good and the service as well.
