Update; I've stayed here 9x, a total of 15 nights. Each time was most relaxing.
The folks here are friendly and helpful. The rooms are old fashioned, but in a good way. Each room has several pieces of antique furniture. Dresser and freestanding clothes closet for example. The floors in the antique rooms, like the ones we had are hardwood, the tubs are vintage cast iron clawfoot types in most rooms and very large by modern standards. Some rooms do have newer, smaller tubs, so enquire when you reserve if this is important.
The beds are comfortable, nicely made up and very clean. This entire place is "very clean".
There was the faint whiff of fresh paint in one hallway one time we visited. They never stop working on it, so it seems.
There are modern touches too, free wifi that actually works well and a decent sized flat screen tv. In room coffee is via an eco-friendly single use coffee maker. It uses coffee in bags, like teabags. That's a nice change from those plastic pod things.
Free cooked breakfast in the restaurant at ground floor comes with your stay.
A good value indeed. I'll stay here again. Probably will stay quite a few more times, as business dictates.
Original review....
Google seems to think I stayed here, which is untrue. I may stay here in the future, because I found it to be a neat looking old hotel. A charming sort of place. What I did do was have lunch in the cafe, which was quite nice. Our food arrived nicely prepared, and it was satisfying. The restrooms were clean and the front desk staff, who you must walk by to get to the cafe proved helpful and friendly.
