We used Great Events Catering for a staff lunch. With Covid restrictions, food was required to be separate. They labelled everything for each person, all allergies and specifications were met. The food itself was amazing and the staff raved about the food and the quality of the ingredients! Ordering and organizing for individual meals for 50+people can be challenging but this company assisted with every need and requirement! These meals were so affordable and met within our budgets as well. This by far exceeded my expectations!

Great Events catered our wedding at Spruce Meadows this May and they did an absolutely amazing job. All of our guests made comments about how incredible all of the food was and the staff was so good about looking out for our guests with dietary restrictions. Working with Michelle leading up to our wedding was an excellent experience as well. She took time to meet with us and understand what we were looking for and she gave excellent advice about things to consider that we never would have thought of without her expertise. I would highly recommend Great Events if you have a special event coming up that you need catered.

Great Events did not perform as expected when I used them for my wedding at Crossroads Market. They ran out of salad dressing, side potatoes and cake/dessert. My husband and I didn’t get any of our cake or potato side dish. No one got seconds on anything. We ordered a coffee chart to greet people with chai and rosso coffee when they arrived. The coffee chart arrived 2 hours into our meal with no CHAI and no rosso. I’m Indian. I paid for 220 people and only 190 attended, I can’t imagine what would have happened if everyone invited attended. Unfortunately, would not recommend Great Events or Crossroads Market.

Remember the time we went to Agra and got pictures of everything but the Taj Mahal? That's what this review feels like because I forgot to take a pic of the MAIN ATTRACTION! The largest, most succulent, vibrant lobsters I have had in decades. But, please don't punish Great Events Catering because of my mistake. I assure you the entire meal we ordered had us surreptitiously licking our plates. It's become an end-of-the-year tradition to order lobster dinner. If Great Events keeps the same seafood supplier, this will be our go-to choice! The dinner came prepared, to heat: oven vegetables, white asparagus preserves, beet trio with goat cheese salad, artisan baguette, whole Atlantic lobsters, buttered rum eggnog cheesecake. The price was very reasonable (including the cost of home delivery) and the presentation was beautiful. Most importantly the ingredients were fresh and the flavours delightful. We had been looking very forward to this meal for weeks and even still, it surpassed our expectations.

Thouroughlly disappointed with quality of food served at my best friends wedding. Food was over cooked, lukewarm and portion sizes were small. In the end the bride and groom were charged for items they did not receive. Overall poor execution, poor service and barely edible food. In response to owner: The wedding was in September and bride and groom were overcharged for coffee and tea which were not even brought on site. Thanks to the jack singer for stepping up and taking care of any overcharges. Overall the more disappointing issue was the terrible food.

The Great Events team is truly amazing. They were flexible with our ever-changing plans due to COVID and accommodated every ask we had. The food was absolutely delicious and was delivered in a COVID friendly way which made all our guests comfortable. One thing that we wanted at our wedding was tandoori chicken as it is one of our favourite meals and honours my heritage. Although it was not on the Great Events menu, the chef curated a tandoori chicken dish just for us and we could not have been more grateful. It was absolutely amazing and meant so much to us that he went above and beyond to help make our day spectacular. Cathy was also delightful to work with. She replied to emails consistently and created several quotes for us in a moments notice as our plans kept changing. She also worked with us and gave us recommendations throughout our planning process. We would highly recommend Great Events Catering to anyone looking for a caterer.

I used this amazing catering company for my wedding reception at Spruce Meadows. They did an outstanding job. They set up all of the tables, place setting, and made the most elegant dishes. The food was delicious, and they were so accommodating to all the allergies and intolerances present. I specifically worked with Michelle, who worked SO hard, and was SO flexible, to ensure the evening was perfect. She was extremely quick to follow up on emails, and always answered in great detail. The servers, cooks, and everyone else behind the scenes did an amazing job to make our wedding reception wonderful! My husband and I are eternally grateful.

I cannot say enough great things about Great Events. They have done multiple events where I was the planner or a guest. Most recently a 3 day banquet for over 2000 people. The food was incredible. It catered to everyones tastebuds in some form or another. It was fresh, served hot in a timely manner and was creative. It is never fun to go to a banquet where they serve the same boring , simple chicken or beef dish. They elevate those dishes to a whole new level. Scott and Tib did a great job of ensuring that everything was exactly as I needed it. The service level is higher than any other caterer I have used! The black uniformed army (that's what I call them, lol) is very impressive and very efficient. They assisted me with many things that didn't fall into their job description and made my job much easier when my volunteers were no longer available. Overall, my event would not have been a success without the team from Great Events and I am immensely thankful to them! I would recommend them to everyone for any event, large or small!

I ordered a High Tea Gourmet Box, Rustic Charcuterie and Dessert Box for my daughters birthday New Years Eve. I was really disappointed to find moldy fuit in my order. I paid over $100 and hoped that the quality would reflect the price. I gave 2 stars because I thought that the presentation was beautiful and the delivery was on time. But the moldy fruit made me question the quality of the rest of the food. I’ve contacted Great Events Catering but I haven’t heard back yet:(

I just ordered a charcuterie box for my Mother in Law and she loved it. It was everything as described but better! She said it was absolutely delicious. The idea of including different types of food int their menus is very creative and modern. Great Events catered our wedding in October and overall the experience was good. Suzanne was great to work with, and always very responsive to our questions. The food and service the day of were both perfect - nothing was over cooked, everything tasted great, and they really did a great job of catering to the various dietary restrictions of our guests (including gluten and/or dairy free, as well as various allergies). There were a couple "hiccups" if they could even be called that throughout the planning stage, but a few things popped up that we did find surprising, such as having to rent tables for the caterers to work off of, which wasn't included as part of our quote until a month before the wedding date. However, in the end, we were quite happy with how everything turned out and would recommend Great Events Catering moving forward.

Great Events Catering lacks any form of professionality. Their practices are unsanitary, the kitchen/servers barely ever wear gloves and HANDLE people's food without any sanitation (no place to wash hands in some stations like the food trucks). People are paying huge amounts of cash for pretzels that have been left outside with no cover and have hardened like rocks with the occasional fly landing on them. Management does NOT care enough to provide a better service because no one ever speaks up. Management is rude and unprofessional. It is evident that they don't care about their customers or their staff and their only interest is money. If you are searching for a catering place for one of your events I would highly suggest looking elsewhere, and if you're visiting Spruce Meadows I would recommend bringing a home packed lunch or a Baconator :)

My wedding was last month and Great Events did an incredible job. Couldn't recommend them more. Outside marquee, carpeted flooring, inside chiffon wall panelling, outside champagne reception followed by seated dinner for 130 - all was impeccable and well executed. I dealt with Sarah Jane from start to finish and her attention to small details, follow up, expertise on product and leadership when needed was incredible! Went to an open house tasting and the quality was way higher than expected. Food was good and had a lovely presentation. However they did a poor job labelling allergies. For celiacs, they do have gluten free food but be cautious of cross contamination and poor labelling, I did get glutened. Service was decent, some good and some passable. The food overall was really enjoyable and modern which lead to the carter being booked from this tasting. The wine they served however was not good so see if they have other options.

Horrible. Ruined a family members wedding a couple of years ago and today at the pet expo I paid $36 to stand in line for forty minutes ( average four to five minutes per person asking for hot dogs and pulled pork ) and when I recieved my meal there was maybe four ounces of meat on a side roll similar to the swiss chalets. Pulled pork and cole slaw $8.95 × 2 . two orders of chips $7.00, two cans of pepsi $4.50, hot dog $3.95, turkey sandwich $5.95. If it is my choice, witch it quite often is, they will never step food in one of my functions.

Went to the fathers day brunch buffet at the gallery on green Congress hall which was catered by this company. Absolutely DELICIOUS food, every single thing was so dang good and so many options! My only complaint is that I couldn't fit more into my stomach! I'd go to anything catered by these folks.

Great company from the set up to the catering for 130 people. Sarah did an amazing job of coordinating for the special day. All the activities from marquee set up, complete with flooring and draping with candeliers on the 4 poles (and beautiful flags flying on the tent tops), to the champagne reception on the terrace and the sit down dinner for our guests -- all was coordinated and went off as planned. The servers, bartenders, everyone involved, were professional and friendly. Best experience ever--Thank you and especially thanks to Sarah for her attention to detail and her recommendations.
