Months after the wedding, my uncle is still talking about the wedding band. Side One is indeed one of a kind! We asked our venue (Sunwolf) for a live band that could perform at our wedding, and they immediately suggested Side One. We looked for them online, and didn't find too many videos, but we hired them and hoped for the best. They exceeded our expectations! We hired the acoustic guitar for the reception, the 3 piece jazz band for the cocktail hour, and the 5 piece band for the reception. I could tell immediately that they LOVE their job when Rob told me that I would get 4 free songs for the acoustic guitarist to learn for the ceremony. Any song whatsoever! We went with 3 songs total, 2 of them being Filipino songs that means a lot to me and my husband. My family recognized the songs and were happily surprised to hear it! We weren't around during the cocktail hour as we were taking our wedding photos, but hearing them from afar made me feel like I was missing out on the jazzy vibe! The reception was amazing! They found a way to fit into the small area we had for them. Their setup was amazing. Came with some rustic, retro style lights, highlighted with a bit of pink and blue LED lights. I normally don't like LED lights, but theirs wasn't too much and just fit the vibe perfectly. The dance floor was NON-STOP! They got my family and friends dancing and singing for hours! They even got my cousin on stage to sing! Great audience participation that made everything so memorable! Live bands are the way to go for any party, and Side One is way beyond! My friends wondered why they aren't famous already!

Side One was definitely one of the highlights of our wedding! The 6-piece live band made our dance floor experience and they were great at handling the audio for our ceremony and speeches. Originally we weren't going to have a live band but after going to a friend's wedding with Side One we knew we had to book with them! You won't regret the decision to go with Side One!

It's not even really a question of whether or not we'd recommend Side One for a wedding. We absolutely would but more than that, if we had friends even considering a band, we'd badger them relentlessly until they booked Side One. There are three things that I just thought they did incredibly well. 1) The playlist. Absolutely perfect for us. I like indie, my wife loves hip-hop and our guests' tastes varied even more. The band put together an unbelievable playlist that really suited our group. 2) The performance. Wow. We thought that we might have thrown them a bit of a curve ball with a tricky first dance song and we're wondering if they'd be able to pull it off. They did. And it was perfect. But there were just so many great moments throughout the night that we never would have imagined like when the female singer (sorry- don't have your name) raps the verse in No Diggity. Amazing! 3) The energy. Our wedding wasn't a large one (about 80 people) and we were worried that we might not be able to keep the dance floor full. Not a problem at all. There wasn't a single song that felt phoned in or like the band was just going through the motions and I've never seen our friends dance like they did that night. Thank you again so much. You were one of the best decisions we made in planning our wedding. We wouldn't have changed a single note. Best, Jeff & Lena

From start to finish working with SideOne has been a great experience! From the outset, they were professional and flexible in working with us to plan the musical portion of our wedding, under pandemic conditions. Throughout the entire process, Rob was understanding when we had to make adjustments due to COVID, and was able to lend support to the jewish music set. The band totally rocked out during the wedding, putting on a high energy performance, while deftly selecting the perfect set mix to get the guests moving! Many guests enthused afterwards that the music was the highlight of the wedding for them. My wife and I would highly recommend SideOne to anyone looking to book a wedding band.

Side One were amazing! The music was really a highlight of our celebration. The quality of the performance and the song selection made it feel like an actual show. They also had a great sense of the room and had us dancing all evening long. Our guests loved the band too. We highly recommend them!

Being a music agent in Vancouver, I knew exactly what band I wanted for my own wedding. It was a no-brainer...Side One. In terms of party bands, it really doesn't get better than this band. They're constantly updating their song list to include all the hits on the radio that you're hearing RIGHT NOW, plus they know all the classics to get your parents and grandparents on the dance floor as well. They even learned a special song for our first dance and performed it with a string quartet which was AMAZING. They kept our dance floor packed all night with high energy, awesome entertainment. I can't recommend them enough!

"We engaged Rob to help play acoustic guitar for my father's virtual memorial service and he did an amazing job of selecting wonderful and appropriate songs to help to create a beautiful virtual ceremony in difficult circumstances. Rob is a talented and skilled guitarist and it's obvious he loves what he does. Rob recommended to pre-record the music to ensure no technical difficulties with the presentation during the virtual event and it was perfect. Rob was professional and responsive and worked collaboratively our event planner. My heart goes out to anyone having to plan an event for a loss of loved one during the pandemic. Music helps to make things better and I highly recommend Rob to anyone else looking for a guitarist to help them with their event.

Side One Rocks! We had the 8 piece band play for our wedding reception and they had everyone dancing all night long. Our guests didn't want to leave because they were having too much fun. In the weeks following the wedding, we received many unsolicited comments from guests indicating how much they enjoyed the music. Rob and his team are great to work with and very professional. They not only learned our first dance song but absolutely nailed it. The night could not have been better. Thank you Side One for making our big day so amazing.

We had such an amazing night with Side One rocking out for our 10th Anniversary Party in Calgary. Everything to do with Side One was professional and first class. They exceeded our expectations and had our entire party dancing for 4 hours straight followed by an encore. Best. Wedding Band. Ever. Side One Band was absolutely incredible and made our wedding rock! I just returned from a corporate function in Miami. For the closing night the entertainment was Side One, from Vancouver, Canada. They were great. From the minute they started playing, the dance floor was packed. They had a very large range of music - something for everyone. The two lead singers have phenomenal voices. The group has a great chemistry. You could tell that they love doing what they do. I believe that music can make or kill an event - good music is the key to a great party. Side One made our closing night memorable.
