Here you will see all the opinions of people like you who are using the services and products of The Burroughes Building (Event Planner) in Bathurst (Canada).
At the present the business has a score of 4.4 stars out of 5 and the score was based on 127 reviews.
As you can see its rating is really good, and it is founded on a very high number of scores, so we can be quite sure that the valuation is very accurate. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they are happy, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to give opinions when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Event Planner belongs to the category of Event venue.
I recently booked this space for a Vancouver Film School event - the location is amazing, beautiful venue space, and very unique!! Staff was helpful, quick to respond, and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
Authentic building, beautiful architecture
What a lovely, lovely, lovely venue.......however.... they ought to put filter blinds on windows (the kind that you can still see thru, but cut out glare) as an option for sunny days. Although wedding staging in front of these windows is magnificent ~ it is not good for photographs. Beautiful sunset views from the rooftop.
Cool building with exposed brick, great location downtown. Only downside is one elevator which goes to the 6th floor party rooms. The two rooms are divided which allows music to be separated from the dining room if you wish. Great views of Toronto and a great rooftop patio.
Gorgeous antique-ish wedding venue complete with old-style elevator and it's famous exposed brick Burroughes wall. I had a blast shooting a wedding here and up on the rooftop patio. Great all-in-one option for Brides.
The elevator is pretty scary, but there are spacious stairs so you can avoid it all. The space is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. The view over Queen Street provides a nice backdrop. The bathrooms are pretty tiny and probably undersized for the capacity.
Enjoyed observing the interior of this multi-storey wood frame structure. Lots of exposed structural members.
Nice building
Really cool venue for events. Old rustic look, very creaky stairs and a very old and slow elevator.
This building has nice working spaces and event rooms.
Amazing venue
Eh, nothing special. Old garment space that's mostly empty. Washrooms were tiny and awkwardly placed.
Excellent venue with lovely catering (apps, entree and desserts where all excellent and plentiful). The tables available make it easy for sitting down and dancing in the separate room. The only downside is the elevator that only holds eight people at a time. If you are able to take the stairs, take it otherwise you might be waiting a while if you are there with a big group.
Brother's wedding was there. Was nice, but setup for the event was late. Rooftop patio is nice but very hot in summer sun, better in the evening after dusk.
Love the open space! As a wedding planner and designer myself, the possibilities are truly endless.
Was here for a food and drink event.
Huge inside
Beautiful Toronto venue with old beam and brick, as well as a rooftop patio. Extremely accommodating and helpful staff that was a pleasure to work with.
Went to this event as a worker. It is a large suitable room for 150-175 people if I had to guess. Renovated in a modern tasteful way that does not bely the grand old age of this building. Unless you get to take a ride in the old freight elevator that was installed in 1907. The kitchen space is serviceable with a 30 inch grill, a stove. fryer and convection oven. There is a large chest freezer and a standard commercial upright fridge. The space is an open canvas to be decorated any which way you like to. The staff of the Burroughes were very polite, professional and courteous. If I needed a space for 175 of my closest friends, I'd choose this place.
4/5 A beautiful venue with lots of potential. Came here for a wedding and coming into the space it was done with such class and beauty that it was breathtaking. Lots of windows to allow for natural light along with a rooftop terrace to enjoy the skyline view. Recommendations to improve the bar area for ease of serving the guest and preventing long line up clusters.
nice for parties
Stunning venue for a wedding!
Great venue for events, great atmosphere. Gets very warm with lots of people.
Amazing event space. Been here a couple times for their Halloween parties. A lot of fun. Lots of stairs to climb to get to the top floors.
The Burroughs Building is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Toronto. I'm a Wedding Photographer, and I love this venue for its roughness, access to the patio and great spots for photography sessions nearby. Not to mention the staff at The Burroughs Building is always very professional and warm.
Gorgeous historic building with lots of cool offices and shops
Great venue for small weddings
Great and unique event venue. Beautiful rooftop patio.
Lovely venue for our corporate cocktail event and all the staff at The Burroughes was friendly and very helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to host another corporate event here. Thank you to Alina and the rest of the staff for helping me put on a great event that everyone thoroughly enjoyed!
Attended a friend's wedding here, and overall great experience, cool vibe, nice venue and fantastic rooftop patio.
One of the most beautiful venues in Toronto. Anyone is lucky to host or attend an event here!
Here for a friends wedding. Building is nice, rooftop patio needs improvements though. The catered food was cold and the cocktails were badly made. Not impressed with the venue, would not recommend.
Oh my fancy and great for weddings!
Pretty old commercial building with rustic charm.
I have done a couple of styled wedding shoots at The Burroughes Building and it's a great location. There are opportunities for a variety of looks with both the indoor locations (lighting is amazing in both rooms) and the outdoor roof. Beautiful venue for a wedding!
Good environment for private events
The worlds slowest elevator....but worth it when you get to the 6th floor!
My husband and I instantly fell in love with The Burroughes and highly recommend this venue for a wedding or special event. The Burroughes has a cool yet warm industrial vibe with exposed brick, high ceilings, lots of beautiful windows, a great rooftop/city view, and super stylish furniture you can rent to help bring your wedding reception to life! We could not be happier with the communication, help and guidance we received from the venue coordinator, Alina, throughout the planning process and day of wedding. With Covid restrictions, we were still able to have an amazing wedding ceremony and reception of 50 guests that exceeded all of our expectations. The staff at The Burroughes made sure the day/night was safe -our guests commented on how safe they felt at the venue as well as said and keep saying, it was THE best wedding they have been to. It was truly an incredible night and the venue was the perfect choice! Sarah and Nick
Been to many events here from concerts to conferences, weddings and even fashion events. Great space just wish the elevator was faster cause you can spend 30 minutes waiting to get upstairs if you don't want to/can't take the 6 flights of stairs.
A very trendy location for a millennial wedding. The food was excellent. You can have the ceremony and the reception in one location but separate. This is a perfect location for someone hosting different type’s of event and looking for a rooftop patio access.
Beautiful old furniture factory event venue.
Amazing experience with the Burroughes! We booked them in January, and our wedding was in October. They communicated everything so clearly, there were zero hidden costs, everything was explained perfectly. Avinash was our main contact, and he was SO helpful with all our questions and had very good recommendation as to what works best. Remember, you aren't expected to plan a wedding all on your own, use the amazing professionals around you to make it everything you want it to be!
I have attended a few events here and, in all honesty, find it beautiful in every decor and every set up. If you're invited to an event here, you're truly in for a treat.
I've been here for a couple of food festivals. The view from the rooftop never disappoints.
My great grandfather was F Burroughes.
An amazing meeting place on the 6th floor with an interesting and old elevator. Very live accoustics. Could use some baffles to dampen the sound.
Old compact building, good for hosting small events
I was at a wedding. The perfect place to host one. Loved the warm and inviting atmosphere.
We absolutely fell in love with this venue the second we walked in, the decision to put down a deposit later that same day was easy! We loved that there were different spaces for us to plan out our wedding day; our ceremony in the Burroughes brick room, cocktail hour on the rooftop (which was a huge hit with our guests), our dinner/reception was in the large white brick room and dancing back in the brick room. Our guests moved seamlessly from space to space and commented long after how amazing the venue was. Because it is a heritage building, it did get quite hot on the dance floor but the rooftop patio is a great escape to cool down and the views of the city skyline are stunning. We brought in our own food and alcohol, and that allowed us to fully customize our wedding to suit our needs. Not many places will allow you do to that! Our coordinators Livleen and Alina, were fast to respond and so accommodating, allowing us to come in multiple times to measure out spaces or get inspiration for our wedding decor. We couldn’t be happier with the communication! We highly recommend this venue! If you’re looking to have your wedding or event downtown, this is the space to do it!!
Beautiful event space
A bit confusing to get into. The building was great atmosphere but the turnover of the rooms during the wedding left something to be desired.
Beautiful!
Character filled venue with lots of charm.
Too many f***ing stairs and terrible makeshift bar setup. Very disorganized and poor drinks selection especially for the ticket price. $7 for Pabst? No thanks!
I am always astounded when I experience a new location in Toronto that I never knew was there! If you are looking for a venue for a wedding or holiday party, check them out. A very cool place that honours the history of the building. Spacious, big windows and rooftop patio for smoking or fresh air with some city views to boot! Not sure how the food/bar service works... whether they provide or you bring someone in, but at my event, was great! Sound system for the dancing was okay... could be better.
We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Burroughes last month and it was stunning! Livleen, our coordinator, was very responsive throughout the entire process and was super helpful every step of the way. Thank you!
Recently attended a wedding here. The space was inviting, however not open concept enough to include all attendees in the festivities throughout the night. The rooftop terrace was a relaxing addition to the wedding offering an escape from the loud music and dancing. Staff were very friendly and helpful, but were too quick to pick up drinks that were unattended (if you placed a full drink down and turned around to talk to someone it would be picked up by a server and discarded). Overall, lovely place.
We had our wedding at the Burroughes this past fall and it was perfect. The venue is GORGEOUS and the in-house event coordinator (Alina) was the most helpful in terms of getting everything ready for the day, answering our (many) questions beforehand and then making sure that everything went smoothly and according to plan on the day of. We could not have asked for anything more and are so grateful to the team at the Burroughes for making our special day possible.
Sad to say that I was met with subpar service with the event coordinators in planning my wedding that it can't even deserve a higher rating than 1-star. When I initially contacted them, it took them over 48 hours to respond, but even after that I had to follow up with them a 3rd time to schedule a site tour. When we had agreed on a date to view the venue, I emailed again the day before to confirm the viewing and there was no reply. I took a chance and went anyway as we had previously agreed. I rang the doorbell and there was no answer. I also called the number in the coordinator's email and left 2 voicemails, no reply. I waited 20 minutes in the cold, then left. To this day and hour of this post, no call back or email reply. Seriously disappointed with them when their website says they strive to create a one-on-one relationship with all of their clients and love the opportunity to show us why the Burroughes would be the perfect venue space (if I was able to see it). Oh by the way, if you were thinking of getting the nice view of the CN tower and Toronto skyline from the roof top terrace, the new condo building next to the Burroughes appears to have completely blocked that view, so one of its main selling features is now obsolete.
Very good food.
Beautiful event space! Amazing terrace with gorgeous views!
I loved this space for wedding photography. The light in this building is amazing with gorgeous brick walls, and walls of windows, not to mention the awesome roof deck and night Toronto skyline.
Nice place, attended a wedding and venue and rooftop area were all well maintained and managed.
Beautiful heritage building! The pictures I took are from the rooftop and it's quite beautiful up there. The whole livelines of Queen Street West can be viewed from up here!!
Very charming older building. We used the 6th floor for an event for about 100 people. Plenty of room. Only drawback, elevator is older and slow.
A beautiful venue for a wedding! The coordinator, Livleen, was fantastic to work with. She responded quickly and always had answers we were looking for. The space is absolutely stunning and the light is just perfect. It is expensive, but they're up front about that. They also let you bring your own alcohol on a Special Occasion Permit, which helps to offset the cost. We looked at 15+ venues and knew this was the one the moment we stepped inside. You won't regret this choice!
Livleen and her team were so amazing through out our wedding. They were able to be so accommodating with covid and postponements. We were able to have our dream wedding during covid times which seems almost unbelievable. The venue is beautiful and i would recommend it to other couples looking for a unique space in the heart of toronto.
We hosted our wedding at the Burroughes this past Saturday and truly couldn’t be more thrilled with our decision to book this venue. Our guests were all amazed by the bright and beautiful space. The planning process with Alina was also a total dream and we felt so supportive in the day of the wedding (even when our rentals showed up late, Alina and the other Burroughes staff were quick to make sure everything was set up in time). All to say, not only is the space stunning, but they have an absolute dream team running their events. Thanks Alina!!!
Great view of the city!
One of our favourite wedding venues! The rustic urban setting is perfect for couples who want w wedding with a bit of character. The rooftop patio is a perfect spot for cocktail hour.
Was here for a wedding this past summer. Super trendy location with great views. Fantastic roof top bar with seating. Only 1 small sketchy elevator with over 6 floors of stairs to climb so bring your walking shoes unless you want to wait.
