(Translated) The popular kayaking activity is really good! On the other hand, the campsite is sorely lacking in toilet facilities (6 toilets for at least 120 sites) and the pitches are not shaded, lack of privacy. We can see the 5 neighbors around us. It would be nice to include showers in the price of the pitch (Original) L activité kayak populaire est vraiment bien!
(Translated) I took the family tour and it was great!
Awesome place. Amazing camping with lots of varieties of lodging. They have an eco-conscious atmosphere. With campgrounds that are isolated with and without electricity. We had the electricity option to heat our van during the night. It was cold in September so a good heater is a must. I must say that we went towards the end of the season. So.our experience was good because it wasn't as crowded. The kayaking down the river is definitely the highlight. We took the "popular" option and had an awesome time. They provide wet suits when it's colder. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay.
Nature at is best
(Translated) This place is fantastic! We slept in a tipi it was really too great (with our dogs in addition!). This river is translucent, we see a lot of salmon. …
Staff was rude to my wife. The river was very beautiful!
(Translated) Super place beautiful comfortable cabins, the descent of the river is the favorite (Original) Super place belles cabines confortables, la descente de rivière est le coup de cœur
(Translated) Very disappointing tube descent. The only end of the river where we have moved is where the “smart” rapid is. We had to walk sideways to complete the descent and try to paddle with our hands, but in a tube it is not easy. Customer service leaves much to be desired. This activity is more like a snorkeling activity and not a tube descent, in my opinion. Not worth the detour.
Someone recommended I go kayaking here and I could not be more thankful. What a beautiful, wonderful experience. Very professional, great service picking you up afterwards with the shuttle, and very personable and friendly staff. Absolutely would recommend and would go back
Great camping
Nice/nature camping and amenities, tarp on nearly all camping spots, real eco-friendly measures, excellent customer service. The only bad point is the potable water has very bad taste (like drinking a swimming pool water)
We used the shuttle service and this was well worth the money for a very interesting journey to the Lake put in. Staff and driver were excellent Highly recommend them
We only went for the 2 hour kayaking run. Beautiful scenery. Crystal clear water. Only thing is do not waste to much time. You'll miss the bus.
(Translated) Superb descent on the river, it's magnificent! Bring a lunch, lots of sunscreen, water shoes and everything in a waterproof bag because it's pretty certain that you will get wet. The river is very low in a lot of places, a lot of chances of getting stuck in the rocks. At the campsite no real privacy, few trees or distance between the sites. Bag of wood $ 10, showers $ 1 for 5 minutes. The showers are spacious, with a shelf to store our things and hooks. There is no electricity in the corner of the showers you have to go to the corner of the toilet (separate from the showers) for the sockets. The laundry room unfortunately was not that great, 2 washers and 2 dryers and during our stay 1 of each was broken. The loads of laundry seemed to take forever because the water does not run hard ... We ended up washing our laundry by hand in a sink because the washer was never free. There is hot water in the sink near the showers but elsewhere you will have to wash your hands and dishes in cold water unless you are boiling water. Free WiFi on site and we had a network on our campsite. 10/10 for the cleanliness and service of the staff.
(Translated) The river is beautiful! Even with the covid, everything is quite simple, the lady who greets us first is full of energy and good humor! …
(Translated) Descent tube very nice, take your time, stop at a few places, otherwise it goes very quickly. The water is so clear, it's pretty amazing. Next time I would like to try the canoe trip! …
(Translated) What a beautiful river the Bonaventure River is! The water is amazingly transparent and we can see Salmon swimming there if we are lucky. The service is excellent! We did the “popular” descent and the rented kayaks are very stable and of good quality. I highly recommend.
Must keep in mind that this is a big area and a Camping space, even if you're staying at private rooms the service won't be the same of a 5 star resort. That said, i saw the staff work hard everyday on the bathrooms, reception, bar and activities to make sure everyone had the best experience. I had a blast there, the camping was nice, the river is amazing and the bar has a good variety of local beer and food. Only con is that it has a fire interdiction when i was there, so we couldn't make a fire on the camping area, but it's also something they can't control.
Great experience
Beautiful place to enjoy nature
(Translated) A peaceful descent of the river thanks to Cime Aventures. The place is really beautiful and calm. On the other hand, indications of how to use the boats would have been welcome. The staff swing the oars in people's hands and take them up and then say hello to the next .... Other than that, really great!
Excellent place friendly peoplevery nice at the river pool to dirty with flies and smell
(Translated) Very bad experience with the reception staff. A rather unpleasant attitude on their part. Fire permit required on site ($ 10) even if you have your own wood. The sites are well laid out with protective covers, but lack a little privacy because the trees do not hide the neighboring land at our height. Very expensive price for the descent of the Bonaventure river; I recommend waiting for promotions.
Too many people and not a very nice camping sadly
You get paddle to your way down the Most beautiful river
(Translated) A must do not to miss the descent of the river in a kayak, just WOW !!
(Translated) Very nice experience today. We found the staff to be very friendly furthermore that we had the wrong day for booking our kayaking trip. They did everything to accommodate us and find us a descent within an hour of our arrival. The river was very beautiful I couldn't ask for better. We will come back for sure !!
Not a good experience. Wood is really far from the camping site, there is no privacy from other camping sites. It is really packed and you can hear other campers during the night. There is only 1 machine to clean clothes for 80 camping sites. Showers are 1 dollar and they stop after a little while, forcing you to pay another 1 dollar. I asked for information on restaurants and they showed me their food truck which was really bad. The information was misleading, there are way more camping sites that offer better service.
(Translated) What a beautiful descent in the river. What to say about the breathtaking landscapes. We did the popular descent and loved our experience. It's very well organized and the whole team is very friendly. I highly recommend it.
(Translated) Beautiful area! Lots of vegetation, it's soothing. The staff are friendly and courteous. We camped in a tent, bring a good mattress since the ground is not grassed and there are several rocks. I would have liked there to be a small convenience store on site, but the village is about ten minutes away. The river is a must, unfortunately there is no beach, only rocks.
Super ???? ????
Rented a canoe for a two day trip and everything was satisfactory aside from the barrels they provided for our stuff. Our friends' canoe tipped over and all of their stuff got wet due to the barrels not being waterproof.
Very fun
Very unpleasant staff, says 2 services but no drinkable water at camp, very dissapointed.
Extraordinaire
(Translated) A magnificent place to discover the Gaspé and the Bonaventure River. The site is located at the edge of the salmon river. We rented a cabin, the staff are welcoming and smiling it was a real pleasure (Original) Une place magnifique pour découvrir la Gaspésie et la rivière bonaventure.
The river is spectacular!
Had the most amazing time staying at this campsite! So many adventures to be had in this area. The kayaking is a must! Beautiful landscapes all around. We stayed at cime in 2020, will definitely have to go back at some point in the future. We stayed here in our camper and we had everything we need, we brought our own kayaks and had our own adventures. I can't give a review for any of the utilities at this campsite concidering I didn't use any. Great location, with direct access to the river!
Personally I liked the place first because the access they have to the clear water river is amazing and second the hippies style of the complete place. So if you are looking for fantasy luxury spa is not here. If you are here to connect with nature yes !
(Translated) The team on site is fantastic! Superb welcome, the place is just beautiful and well appointed, really nothing to say! The patrollers on the river always keep the concern that the experience of descent is optimal. The suggestion that I would make to the patrollers is to keep a lifeguard at all times at the Malin Rapide in the event of the boat overturning.
Great campsite! Happy to have electricity and water right on the lot. Great view and walk to the river and not too far from necessities, but felt covered and secluded.
Kayaking on Bonaventure river for someone who loves nature is like drinking wine in Italy with a sunset in Florence. You can choose lots of activities depending on your level and schedule. Loved that the agent on the phone gave me a promo code and took the time to answer all my questions. The equipment is ok. The staff really makes the experience even more pleasant. One thing to improve would be about the shuttle at the end. We had no specific time and had to wait for the bus in wet clothes for almost an hour, so we got cold. Other than that, we had a great experience!
Warning for RVs: the electrical is sub-standard, outlets unstable and and no breaker, should you have an electrical short. NO DUMP STATION! No potable water on-site. No heated pools or climbing structure as advertised ( I know it's covid but let people know ahead of time). If you don't reserve kayaking activity weeks ahead of time, prepare to be very bored. We ended up buying inflatable boats and leaving vehicles downstream. It took 4 hours to float from campground to near the IGA. ( Bring snacks) The added bonus was the septic trunk that emptied the public toilets at supper time and had us all gagging for at least 30 minutes. This place is a rundown operation that needs a massive overhaul!
CimeAventure is a campground, and also organizes tours to go down the Bonaventure River. The camping looks pretty tacky. The roads are made out of dirt, it seems rustic to me. You cannot go there with a 30 feet trailer or RV. Only tents, or hybrids trailers. I went down the Bonaventure river. It was funny. We went on an old school bus that wasn't starting like it should, going 80KMH on a small road, to finally arrive at our launching point. We were on tubes. You can also rent somekind of board, for more informations, ask them. Activities: Restaurant Kayaking
Perfect spot for tenting but not great for trailers.
If you're looking for a family or a friendly getaway with activities on-site then look no further. This place is packed with activities on the river for all experience levels, they have all the necessary amenities and more. They are still growing and getting larger so definitely will get better with time. Really peaceful place with a peaceful vibe and no fancy stuff!
A nice river to go down on with friends or family, the water color is breathtaking!
Great Adventure.
Took the 4-hour kayak ride at the end of the driest month of the year. Had great fun. Very well organized, great sentiment of safety and good gear.
(Translated) The Bonaventure River is magnificent and the activities offered are interesting, but there is a little lack of staff to manage everything.
(Translated) In itself, the fact that the site uses reusable materials and that it is designed to protect and impact the surrounding nature as little as possible is a very good point. …
Good staff good equipment beautiful scenery
We had an amazing time doing "la populaire" activity down the bonaventure river with a kayak. The Cime Aventure team is really well organised, everything went super smooth and they have everything to prepare you for the trip, highly recommended!
Lovely! Magic place! Doing Kayak totally recommended!
(Translated) Beautiful campsite which seems to have a vision of sustainable development. However, we were disappointed with the various changes imposed (of the campsite, although booked well in advance, and of the boat for the descent of the river).
(Translated) I had an amazing weekend with my friends here! The yurt is comfortable, with a view of the Bonaventure River. The canoe trip was very pleasant according to my friends, since I unfortunately could not finish it. The guides were very knowledgeable, especially the one who took charge of our evacuation. A good experience despite everything! Took the 20 km river ride, loved every minite of it. Beautiful sights and great equipment.
Great campground and river activities
Very fun. The staff were helpful and friendly. Love the Bonaventure River :)
Beautiful salmon river.. great for camping and fly fishing
(Translated) This park is aptly named, it is possible to do several activities! The water is clear and turquoise which makes any nautical activity exceptional! I recommend Yoga by the water in the morning. It's very calming and …
We had a great canoe morning with this company.
Very nice river!
(Translated) For me it was only the 2 hour tube descent. My girlfriend and I loved it. For about twenty dollars you will discover a truly magnificent and limpid river. The little rapid "Le Malin" is really fun and you can cross it several times when you get out of the water. The professionalism of the employees and the organization of the premises and A1. I recommend anyone passing through Bonaventure to check it out.
Miss the hot tub n small pool
(Translated) 2 nights at the campsite pitch 105. Quiet nights despite the proximity of the reception and parking. Reception at the reception very good where we had the good information. Only flaws, sanitary not very clean yet cleaned in the morning by nice ladies. It must be said that there is a lot of rotation! We also did the popular descent on the Bonaventure River. An experience to live. Well organized by the staff. We had good information at the start and the staff is also on the river. I would have liked some additional information just at the delivery of the canoe (at the time of entering the water). This descent is accessible, but requires good direction to avoid some pebbles. Beaches for swimming! Great. Super.
Very nice place, try the bonaventure ride!
(Translated) Can I put 6 stars? Despite COVID19 which has given this place an obvious blow, every time I go there I wouldn't want to leave. The Bonaventure downhill activity is simply unforgettable.
Bohemian campground with great access to the Bonaventure river. The water is crystal clear and the campground offers kayak and canoes for trips. We did the trip down the river to downtown Bonaventure (with own kayaks) and it was awesome. The campground is cool too as it is not your typical campground. The washrooms are open and coed, the sites have each a roofed portion made from recycled billboard posters which keep you nice and dry when needed. It has also some cabins which are in the wooded area. We did not see the inside but they looked cool and were all rented out when we were there so I guess they are popular.
We had a lot of fun doing kayaking. Stuff was nice. But there were some "no" for me. First is that at the beginning even though they counted everybody asking what did you ordered, they missed 4 single kayaks and 2 double ones....SERIOSLY? How? So some people had to wait 30+ mins while a bus will get there something and others preferred excess kanoes not to wait without getting money back. Other thing was that they kind of don't have mobile connection at the start point so it's a problem to talk with a base. Just short messages like "2 sing kayaks, 2 doub"... And it XXI century. ...Not everywhere yet. Nature was ok. The level was very easy. Have no idea what will be on a family route ????????????. In one place even pretty small me almost stuck cz of shalow water. And it's kind of long place. To say nothing about a couple in a double kayak who likes to eat that had to stop every 10 mins to take out water. They had just walk there. ???? nobody said anything to them before about this problem. And the last one is that at the stops there were no signs for a toilet and just one broken table to eat!
IT IS A RESORT NOT A CAMPING. The river is wonderful, but the camping is awful. People are NOT RESPECTFUL, loud music, nobodys respect the rules. There was an interdiction of fire, everybody had a fire camp, no security to come and tell people. If you want to canoe, go for it, but for any other reason go sleep somewhere else!!!
I like the area and the staff seem friendly. Our camp spot was small but it was a reasonable price for a spot with electricity. I like the mounted white tarp they provide, to keep your tent dry. They also have curfew hours, to be quiet by 11 pm so as not to disturb others. You can buy a sack of wood for $10 if you would like a bonfire. The washrooms and shower area could cleaner. They offer a washer and dryer for laundry. The washing area for dishes was disgustingly dirty. They offer adventure tours by kayak on the river. Did not try it but saw a lot of people boarding the buses to start their day on their river tour. It is not the cleanest place, a bit bric and brac, but it's not the worst either. Not a favourite camping spot for me or my partner.
(Translated) The campsite is good, everything is close with drinking water in a few places. There is a coffee machine in the big chalet. The coffee is ordinary but it helps. The kayaking in the river is magnificent.
Don't camp here & do the solo kayaking on the famous tour (4 hours). Make sure the water levels are high enough and you'll have an amazing experience. I did it 5+ times in the course of many years (from 12 years old to 23) and was never disappointed.
Camping spot had laughable cover from neighboring camps. My spot to set up my tent was literally a meter away from my neighbor's. If your going to take a shower make sure to bring more than 1 dollar, otherwise your body is going to be smothered with shower gel. I do not recommend. Personal opinion.
Had the canoe ride on the river. The water level was 40 cm lower than usual. They should not organize rides with canoes in such shallow water. Half of the time it was an extremely frustrating ride. Kayaks were capable to glide in much more shallow places.
The tipi experience was fun. However the first tipi we had was badly kept. We were permitted to change and the second one was much better. The view is very pretty and there are many things you can do on the site.
Good place to go down some camping with young kid and to do some activities with the nature. ????
Very bad experience, they cancel our tour without notifying us. We arrive to the place of course not knowing the tour was cancelled, and they did not provide other solution.
(Translated) Despite the rain we had a great weekend. First night in a very beautiful and well equipped ecologis. Second day in a canoe a beautiful 20 km on the Bonaventure. (Translated) Beautiful and well organized river descent. Recommended for kayaking, but not recommended for canoes, which seemed to have difficulty in the rapids. More or less well-equipped camping space for tents. Soil with a lot of rocks. However, the space was covered, which was good and free wifi on the site. (Translated) Very fun the summit adventure and the little house to sleep very romantic wow in love …
A+!
We had the priveledge of camping here for 3 nights and doing 2 days of activities on the River. The first day we did the tour called The Matinale and it was a 17km kayak down the Pristine Bonaventure River, we saw very large saumon and were even able to drink right from the river when thristy. The rapids were fun and easy to negociate and the kayaks that CIME uses are ridiculously stable making even novices look like pros! The second day we did the tubing excursion and stopped and hung-out for 3 hours at a rapid called Le Malin. You can swim down the rapid and jump of the ledges over the river into the crystal clear water. A super fun and relaxing day! IF you are passing by Bonaventure on your tour of Gaspé, this must be on list your list of places to stop and enjoy!
Really good and fun!
The river is crazy beautiful! The equipment is in ok shape. The installations are in need of restoration : spa is closed, pool is a bit dirty... but this is not what should bring you to this place! Definitely a must if you are in the area!
Nice river, bit the campgrounds are expensive for what they offer. Firewood and showers should be cheaper.
Excellant
Paid for half a shower after paying more than 300$ for the activities during the day
(Translated) For my part, I had a good time, the service is very good! They let us pass instead because we arrived a little half an hour early. For our part there was more kayaking done as we spent time on the family inflatable. I didn't know what to expect but it was perfect and a little stressful at the same time. For sure I will come back!
The kayaking tour was pretty well organized, would recommend that. However, I didn’t really like the camping, the bathroom are outdoors and kinda disgusting and smelly. Reminds me of a youth hostel in south america or something. On top of that, it costs 1$ to shower (should’ve mentionned that on their website). Also, I was on the open campground and the big dog next to my site was offleash and almost attacked my small dog that was leashed. An employee advised them but no further consequences for them and no sense of urgency. Wasn’t in the mood to stay after that incident, especialy next that that family and their agressive dog so I left a day early. Felt like they could’ve done more and perhalps managed the situation a bit better.

(Translated) The water is beautiful and it was a great experience! The place is well organized and the return to the parking lot was easy with the shuttle. All the staff were very nice. However, in August the water level was very low and we got stuck several times during the La Familiale trip. I wouldn't recommend the other routes if you are not an intermediate level and skilled at maneuvering to avoid rocks. We had a problem with our reservation and the Management was able to provide us with satisfaction.
Overall very disapointed with my stay and experience with cime aventures. I had heard good reviews from people but my experience was very different. First let's talk about the tipi accomodation. they seem to have taken down a lot of the picture from their website now, but while we booked, they had done a very nice job of marketing their tipi, They were showing off pretty and clean tipi with nice glass patio door and with indoor fireplace. The tipi we arrived to was very different, the indoor fireplace had been taken out, fully removed leaving only a part of the old chimney. The nights were very cold at the beginning of september, around 5 degrees and very humid, The inside was incredibly humid and cold, not at all comfortable without a fireplace. There was incredible amounts of spiderwebs found at the entrance of the tipi and an old ugly wooden door was used instead of the nice glass door from the picture. The 2 small beds were covered in a plastic cover to protect it but the big one wasn't, it was covered in an old bedding that someone had clearly brought and left behind, I Was very uncomfortable with the idea to sleep over someone's old sheet and no mattress protection. The second day was an incredibly rainy day, and we even had some rain dripping in the inside of the tipi, directly on the bed. I do understand that this is ''camping'' and not a 5 star hotel but the tipi is just clearly not cleaned, filled with spider webs and leftover soot all over. The cost of the tipi really doesn't reflect the low quality of the accomodation. The toilet and sink are also a little far, and its impossible to bring the car close to the tipi which makes it quite hard to bring all the stuff in, especially in the dark, at night. We didn't end up seeing the shower because we ended up leaving a day early because how uncomfortable our first night was in the tipi, and the water dripping in the second day. But the toilet facilities close to the restaurant were very dirty and smelly, and there was no hot water on any of the sink in that area, I don't know about the others. The pool area/spa look deserted like if no one had taken care of cleaned it in months. I still enjoyed my kayak experience, but I don't think we can say the same of many others that took the trip at the same time than us. The water levels were INCREDIBLY low, they mentionned to us possibly having to stand up 1-10 times during the duration of our 20km trip, but we were talking about more than 30+ time if not more. There was some entire section where it was impossible to use the kayak at all and had to be crossed on foot in the river while dragging the kayak. knowing those condition the little water boots should be provided at NO COST to everyone, They were really not pushing the fact that we would have to walk into the river that much to people and many skip renting those which would made the ride very uncomfortable. Luckily they were at least renting the wet suit for free because of the cold temperature and the rain but same should be done for the rain boots in such low water levels. Many (older ) people were growing extremely tired, uncomfortable and frankly frustrated after many hours of dragging their kayak in cold water and getting stuck on rock every couple minutes, Proper warning should be given as well as discount on low level days.
(Translated) If you've never been kayaking in the Bonaventure River, this is ABSOLUTELY a must-see. One of the clearest rivers in the world. Safe, well organized and a heavenly place.
The site and business has been improving
Went for a double kayaking down the river, "La Familiale". The river is beautiful. The staff are very competent and caring. We got a ride back to the base by school bus! Great experience.
(Translated) We did the double kayak descent of the bonnaventure river (the popular one on the website). The descent is done without a guide but the instructions are very clear. Pleasant descent, following the current the descent …
(Translated) Very nice place super well thought out cabin (Original) …
(Translated) Beautiful, well-organized campsite, located on the banks of the Bonaventure River. The grounds are large and for the most part quite private. The shelter that protects the tent and the table was invaluable considering it was raining during our stay. Very clean showers and toilets.
Sorry but the spa is a joke. It looks like there weren’t any investments since 15 years (50% broken, the rest dirty and full of grass and sand). The kayak tour in the river would have been great but with almost no water it was more of a hiking tour in the 10 cm high water. So Cine, to keep your good rating, you should better shorten the tour during summer months if that means more fun to the participants.
Before you go, make sure to CALL to ask details about the conditions on the river. I took part in "The Famous Tour" which was self-guided 20km down the river. I was expecting a relaxed canoe ride with a few easy rapids. But the level on the river was exceptionally low (10 m3/s. The lowest from the chart in their office shows 5 m3/s) and my experience was totally different. The river was full of rocks sticking out of water or hidden just underneath it (often impossible to see until too late) so the ride was 80% of frantic maneuvering between them just to keep the canoe from tipping. We ended up in the water many times and I have bruises on my legs from hitting rocks (because the level is so low you end up on the rocks with little water to cushion the fall). We are no experts in canoeing (just typical basic knowledge of techniques) and even though my partner enjoyed the challenge/struggle, I was so stressed that I don't even remember the views we passed. So my 2 stars are for misinformation. Had I known that it's going to be a crazy ride between the rocks (or pushing the canoe through shallow parts while walking on slippery rocks), I wouldn't have done it. The staff only told us just before the departure that the level is low and there are more rocks but first: they only said it in French (so I didn't understand) and second: they failed to provide a full picture of the situation on the river.
Camping was so-so, but the kayak and river was amazing!
(Translated) Rustic but very pleasant campsite; we slept in a tipi, it's nice but also very rustic, on the other hand close to the river and in peace it was good. Due to covid we did not have access to the bar or the restaurant and it's a shame it seemed like a perfect place to relax and have a drink. We did the popular (20km) in a canoe on September 9, and it was starting to run out of water at 9m3 of flow, we had to get out of the canoe quite a bit to pull, but overall an experience that I had loved, it's full of stories to tell. Mention A + to the guide (not a guide) who was very nice. I would do it again but with more water and current!
(Translated) I loved my kayaking experience. The water in the river is very clear & the bottom of the water is made up of beautiful colored rocks. Small rapids along the way add a pleasant challenge during the descent. I highly recommend!
(Translated) The campsite is in serious need of maintenance. The wooded campsites are ok without better. There are random events with really loud music being heard throughout the site. And they dare to mention that we must not make too much noise in the evening and morning. Whenever there is something wrong and it is mentioned to the staff, they refer to the website which apparently has all the information. The only interesting point is the activities on the river. I do not recommend anyone to come and sleep or relax (Original) Le camping est en manque d'entretien sérieux.
Super fun spot. Teepee was awesome.
(Translated) Canoe camping on the Bonaventure River !! (Original) …
Wonderful place yo do all kinds of activities
(Translated) Very nice experience, from the online reservation to the return shuttle. The employees, every step of the way (even the online chat), are helpful and friendly. The 8km descent is magnificent but too short! (1h20 without break). I go back without fail next year! J'y retourne sans faute l'an prochain !
Nice camping spot for nature lover. Some sector of the camping are only accessible by foot which remove car traffic on site
Nice activity with family buy was not worth 200$ to go down the River, a very quit River… But The River was nice !
Very upsetting customer service. We had reserved online for a camping site, and we had really not liked it. The sites were way too packed together with very little privacy. Not recommended for a couple trying to spend a little weekend tent camping getaway together. The customer service agent did not want to refund our money and would not reason with us. We had taken a cancellation insurance and it was still a big problem to get a refund. However, for the canoe/kayak trips, everyone that had just finished it looked happy.

Disappointed. Overpriced.
