She was extremely helpful with ensuring we had everything planned, booked, and ready in the time frame we needed and helped to point out anything we missed. Amanda herself was already scheduled for another couple's wedding the same day as ours, so on the actual day we had one of her other coordinators and an assistant, Heather and Danielle. And how can you not have fun when there's a visit from Ollie (Amanda's dog) during your meeting? The rehearsal and wedding both went off without a hitch. After about 1.5 years of planning, my fiance (now husband) and I decided we needed some help fine-tuning a few wedding details. The timeline, set up, and take-down in particular were my biggest stress factors. We hired the ADE team for "Day of Coordinating" services, however "day of" is very misleading; their services stretched far beyond that. Amanda quickly set up a Skype meeting to go through our wants and needs, and helped piece together a very intricate itinerary leading up to the day. At first it was overwhelming to see all the teeny tiny details we had to allocate time to, but it was exactly then I knew we had made a terrific investment. Things that would have completely slipped my mind were perfectly laid out for me and as result, we had an abundance of guest compliment saying that everything flowed more smoothly and effortlessly than any wedding they had ever attended. Her team ensured the day was sharp and concise: they created a rain delay plan, kept guest count and cued us down the aisle accordingly, were responsible for keeping the MCs and speeches on time, and worked with our photographer to get lists of family and keep the post ceremony photos flowing effortlessly. On the day of our wedding I didn't have to worry about a thing. The ADE Team did all of our set up and take down, delivering our personal decor to my house the next day and returning all our rentals to local businesses as well. I have nothing but excellent things to say about the quality of their team and I would highly recommend Amanda Douglas Events.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Amanda! We hired her for day of coordination for our wedding but that means much more than just working together on the day of. Amanda started meeting with us 6 months out from the wedding to start organizing the time line of the wedding. She was extremely organized and efficient. We felt like we were in the best hands throughout the whole planning process. Amanda answered all of my emails with numerous questions throughout the whole planning process so quickly. We met 2 months prior to finalize details. Everything was documented on a shared google drive doc which was so convenient. At the rehearsal, Amanda was amazing with our 2 year old flower girl and on the day of was so great with her as well. She works so well with kids. On our wedding day, Amanda and her assistant Cait kept us on track, I never felt rushed or like I was forgetting to do anything. We were actually AHEAD of schedule on the wedding day and Amanda worked with our MC to rearrange the timeline. They set out all of our decor and gave us some great ideas/tips to make our wedding a little special/different that we incorporated. My family loved how organized Amanda kept us during our family photos. It was so efficient and no time was wasted (which was important as we had some elderly family members for family photos and it was +30 degrees out that day). If you're considering hiring a wedding planner, trust me.. this is the best investment you'll make that day.

I was married in September of 2013 and Amanda was our Day of Coordinator. All I remember is that everything went perfectly and I didn't have to do anything except show up and be in the moment. One great thing too is that, yes it was our day, but it's not like we plan weddings all the time. This is Amanda's milieu and she helped guide us through and organize our wedding day the way we wanted it, and not in a cookie cutter way. We had some very non-traditional elements to our ceremony and reception and Amanda took care of those details as though they were old hat. I never thought of myself as a "wedding planner" type of bride, but hiring Amanda was the best wedding decision that my husband and I made. We planned our Winnipeg wedding from Toronto, so we initially hired Amanda to alleviate any long distance planning stressors. We ended up hiring her company for Styling + Design, Day-of Coordination & some Hourly Consulting - and I'm soooo happy we did! Our wedding day was flawless, and I still get complimented on how beautiful and organized everything was. I eventually thought of Amanda as my "wedding therapist" because she had a solution for every wedding-related problem I had. And even though she was busy with other weddings, she always managed to email me back within a few days. Having her constant support throughout the planning process was absolutely invaluable. If you're considering hiring Amanda, I have two big suggestions: 1) Hire Amanda first before hiring ANY of your other vendors. She has a tonne of insider knowledge when it comes to the best and worst vendors, and she'll be able to steer you in the right direction. We hired a few other vendors before hiring Amanda and, in short, it was a mistake. So take advantage of her knowledge and experience in this regard. 2) If possible, go with her Full Planning package. I was afraid that hiring a full time planner would take all of the creative freedom away from me and mean that I wasn't in full control of my wedding. But that's not how it works. Full planning really means that you have her full support. She'd be your wedding accountant, assistant and coach - all while being a bottomless pit of valuable information.

When I first started planning I always told myself I didn't want a planner, but after meeting Amanda and her giving me a run through of everything she would do, I knew I HAD to have a planner. We opted for the day-of coordination and I don’t even want to think about what our wedding day would have been like without Amanda! Definitely our best spent splurge for the wedding. What’s the point of even having a wedding if you and your closest friends/family can’t enjoy themselves? Amanda took care of EVERY detail and more, is so easy to work with, and has so many amazing tips and tricks that were lifesavers for us. Rehearsal was easy, wedding was easy, to this day people still tell us it was the best executed wedding they have ever attended.
