If you are planning on playing reball at this place: forget it, it's a joke. I got quite a bit to say: Tonight was my third time going in the last year and I just can't let it not be said.
The "staff" are not dressed in anything to point out that they actually work there t-shirt, hat, nothing. But it's ok, they spend most of their time screwing around on their phones or out of the dome completely. Called out a few first timers for mask lifting and lack of a barrel sock that they should have seen but went without notice.
Starting games with a bullhorn dosen't exactly work in such a loud setting with a compresser running and over a dozen rowdy kids leading to misstarts and not hear game over. I used to ref paintball and yelling the starting and ending of games is much easier and well communicated.
My gun stopped working part way through the evening (my problem), So I decided to use a rental. After a couple short games I realized the gun was lacking oil like many other rentals around me. I asked an employee if the had any and he gave me a confused look and said no. So after rummaging through my own gearbag I found some and got it working.
Lacking the basics to maintain and fix your own guns should be priority.
After 3 matches play had to be stopped to pick up all the reballs. But because none of the staff bother to try to pick up any during matches along the back and sides, this stopped play for 15 mins. After already starting 10 minutes late, this took away a quater of our evening just like that.
I could go one about not checking gun speeds, not watching the fields during gameplay, or lack of bunkers. But I think I have said enough. If you want to play paintball, try some of the better locations in the area. But in terms of barrie sports dome, spend your hard earned money somewhere else.
