Kim was an absolutely incredible photographer and I would recommend her to anyone. She was professional, efficient, and very knowledgeable about the area. It is easy to get good pictures when it is sunny and beautiful out, but Kim is who you can trust to get amazing images no matter the weather, which is exactly what she did for Ray and I. She trudged through the freak early October snow down to Grassi Lakes with us for engagement photos. They turned out stunning. Again on our wedding day, when the weather forced us inside for the ceremony, Kim was more than ready to head out in the rain for photos and found ways around the low lying clouds to capture that mountain atmosphere that brought us to Canmore in the first place. She was also able to find some unique features of our venue to capture some images indoors to give us a break from the weather. She had completely memorized our family tree which made family pictures a breeze, and captured many great candid moments at our supper and dance. Kim was 110% dedicated to making sure that we got everything we needed on our day and that commitment shows in her work. Thank you Kim for providing us with wonderful images of our special day.

Kim is absolutely amazing and blew our mind with our wedding photos! We flew from Toronto to take photos in Banff with open water and snow, and we were worried about the lack of snow. Kim was kind enough to be flexible with the dates during our visit, as well as the location. We ended up shooting at the beautiful Peyto Lake after a short hike in the snow. She was great at directing and helping us with different poses. I would highly recommend Kim!

Kim was fantastic! Day of she was fun and easy to work with. I’m not super comfortable in front of the camera and she was incredibly helpful and made me feel at ease. She knew all the best spots and angles so our photos have just us in it despite there being plenty of people around (emerald lake lodge, lake Louise, morraine lake). She gave us some stunning photos right away the next day and even some more a little later. We just got all of our pictures and they are unreal. We thought pictures taken with our phones were lovely but it pales in comparison to what Kim does. We are so so happy with everything with Kim and could not recommend her more!

The best in Banff! We had a very small ceremony on Lake Louise in Banff and I found Kim online through a Google search and I’m so glad I found her! Her attention to detail was spectacular. Kim was amazing! We booked Kim for a few hours for our winter elopement at Emerald Lake lodge and couldn't be happier with both the experience and the photos. She comes prepared and ready to shoot even if the weather outside is miserable and cold. We didn't really know what we wanted but Kim helped guide us throughout the day, getting us to relax and giving us ample time to get warm. She sent us our photos in the most unique box/usb drive combination as well with a small care package. It was extremely thoughtful and definitely rounded out the entire experience. This is for the brides: Please do yourself a favour and work with Kim! Why? here I go with some reasons: - We had a video call before hiring her. Whatever we said there, we were being listened to with attention. She's got lots of experience and she knows what she is doing, but she will listen to what the couples want as a first thing and will give you recommendations when asked for. - Before and after the wedding, she answered every email very fast, same day and very often the same hour after we had sent our emails (this is really important when you are organizing, trust me). - On the wedding day, she came before time. She was ready to start working way before the appointed time. We had a delay and she didn't put any kind of pressure on us. - She worked with our video guys as a team. They had worked together before but they were working so smoothly that we could just forget that they were there. She recommended professionals for the video and ceremony, all of them very good recommendations for our personalities and the type of wedding we were planning. - The pictures you will get are just awesome. No Instagram filters used here! - During the photoshoot we were really comfortable (1st time having a photo shoot for us). She was giving us instructions that didn't seem to be ridiculous poses for us to do, they were all actions that felt absolutely natural and you can see it in our final gallery. - THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT REASON: Before, during and after the wedding, you brides might find that some of your overexcited guests really want to control the flow of your day (always trying to help of course!). Well, Kim is here for you! mine was a small wedding, with very few people, but I was getting pretty overwhelmed with everyone "knowing better than me" how my day was supposed to go. Not really understanding the flow of the day, you might find them all over the place telling everyone what to do. But Kim took the lead in a very respectful way. She would listen to what the couple wanted (that's the only thing that matters!) and will give the so-needed recommendations. With her confidence, sweet smile and knowledge she will let everyone know that we have professionals here and that this is an already planned wedding! She kind of became my voice after a while. I was so overwhelmed with so many little things to decide that by the end I would just ask Kim: What do you recommend? so I totally relied on her. And when I wanted something different, she would do her work with the warmest smile. You are getting married and during your wedding day, you will probably be on the fullest-of-emotions version of yourself. Guests trying to help and making lots of questions (questions and advice everywhere!) can make you want to give up on everything and just answer everyone "it doesn't matter, it's okay, as you wish". I just wanted to worry about my lipstick and my brand new husband!! Well, thanks to Kim, I was able to do it. My wedding was awesome!

Kim was nothing short of perfection. Planning a wedding is never easy and being out of the country when planning this destination wedding made things a bit more complicated. Kim was the BEST part of wedding planning (she gave us helpful tips and pointed us to local vendors she's worked with before) and the most calming on or wedding day (our officiant was over an hour late and then it rained on our ceremony). Kim was calm, soothing, smiling, and just incredible the entire time. She is a wonderful person AND she's the best photographer. The wedding photos she took were stunning and she really captured every detail I wanted - even details I failed to notice until we got the photos back!! If you have the chance to book Kim for your photos, DO IT! We could not be more pleased with how our wedding photos turned out. Kim is seriously a mastermind. We sent our initial email to Kim requesting more information and her speedy response surprised us from the get go. She provides so much information and is so organized. With COVID-19 and living out of town, we set up a zoom call as a "first meeting" in which Kim genuinely got to know us and about our wedding day/plans. Throughout the planning process, she provided us with examples of photos she had taken at our venue/chosen locations so we could figure out exactly how to plan our day and what types of photos we wanted. Anytime we had a question about ANYTHING – photos, Banff/mountain questions, even restaurant suggestions during our stay, Kim got back to us extremely quickly. The day of our wedding, Kim arrived on time and was so friendly and helpful with everything. She is definitely a wedding expert and was able to almost act as a mini day of coordinator for us. She helped ease some of our anxieties throughout the day. Our wedding photos with our families were completed so easily, and Kim knew all 16 of our guests by name! During the photoshoots, Kim's cues were easy to follow, and we didn’t feel awkward at all. For each of our locations, she knew exactly where to take us to get the best photos. We were lucky enough that Kim and our videographers (Rocky Mountain Studios) had worked together many times before and had the best rapport – they teamed up to get some seriously amazing shots. Completely unexpectedly, Kim delivered some sneak peeks to us while we were enjoying our dinner! It was a great surprise, and we were able to share the photos with our family at our reception. The rest of our photos were delivered within the timeframe Kim quoted and turned out amazing. We are so happy with every photo and she captured every moment perfectly. Bottom line – Kim is a wonderful photographer and is definitely an excellent choice for a wedding! We hope to have the chance to work with her again in the future for a couples shoot!

I think I lack words to describe enough how fortunate we were to find Kim for our wedding! We liked her from the beginning, because she was very professional and willing to listen exactly how we wanted our day to be. The communication was always fast and as she has been a photographer in this area for awhile, she knew to recommend an officiant and a videographer for us (who we both ended up hiring and were also very happy with!). Also, she knows to recommend beautiful spots in the Bow Valley area for pictures. On the wedding day, Kim took a leading role to guide the group photoshoot and the couple's pictures. We felt very comfortable in front of the camera with her and she gave us great tips for posing. She was the voice of clarity when we needed to keep our heads together. Kim photographed our immediate family only Banff elopement in June 2021. Less than 3 weeks later we have received our beautiful photos and I am truly blown away by them - not a bad shot in over 400 photos!! I was a little worried about wedding photos as I was almost 6 months pregnant at our wedding. I didn’t know how flattering the photos would be, and didn’t want the baby to be the star of the show. Kim put me completely at ease and had me feeling comfortable all day. It was a hot day and she was super considerate of keeping me comfortable - alternating sun and shade and at one point even pulled out ice cold waters for us. Above and beyond! I’m in love with all of the pictures she captured! She did a great job of capturing our families and the emotions of the day, as well as the beautiful scenery of Banff. Kim went above and beyond for our wedding! Kim and her assistant were there early and started shooting right away. She was extremely efficient, especially with family photos and they still turned out amazing. Kim was professional yet casual and fun. She somehow quickly learned all of our immediate family members' names and was very helpful in answering their questions. My husband and I wanted to take photos rock climbing and Kim threw on a harness and got on a rope to take pictures from above! Not many photographers would be so willing and easy going with our crazy ideas! When I found Kim, it was part of a crazy idea that I had about an engagement shoot on a mountaintop. She was very busy however the stars aligned and she happened to have availability when I was driving through the Banff area. Her email communication was prompt and clear. On the day, she was very organized (even without cell reception), and had to keep the secret too. She made it easy, set us up perfectly, and nailed the shots. She and I both had to remain cool, as an exuberant hiker proclaimed, just as we were setting up: "ohhhhhh an *engagement shoot*". To which I said, "no, just photos." We had a lot of fun, and Kim was busy getting the job done all the while. When we had a special request, she always said, yes. She was very eager to capture our unique aspects and none of our requests (second location, presence of a higher power, etc.) fazed her. I have been a photographer for years and have photographed a wedding myself, and so my expectations were high. The shots, the scenery (forest fire smoke, meets golden sun, meets shimmering water), the togetherness that she captured that shows in her pictures, is epic. Her turn-around time was like clockwork. We got everything as promised. On time, on budget, on point! I highly recommend Kim!

In august we had our after-wedding-shooting at our honeymoon in canada. And we choosed to have this shooting with Kim, it was the best choice!!! From the first E-Mail till months after the shooting, she is always so kind and friendly. she answered all of our questions all the time. Kim is incredible. In addition to being an extremely talented photographer, she is detailed, organized, punctual, and very professional. We are from Texas and had never been to Banff before, but selected it for our intimate wedding. Kim knows the area well and knew exactly where to take us for amazing photos. We wanted the landscape to be the main focus of many of the photos and she definitely delivered. Kim knew all the best spots to go, and even drove us around in her own car which took a lot of stress off of us. She's also warm and very friendly, so she was a joy to have at our ceremony. Her turnaround is very quick. We got about 20 social media-ready photos the day after the wedding (which was awesome to share with friends and family back home) and she gave us each photo in high resolution, ready-for-printing format on a jump drive about 45 days after our wedding allowing us to share them at our wedding reception back home. Perhaps this is the norm in Canada, but it is not in Texas where most photographers of her caliber will not give you the original files. Each image she took is breathtaking. We absolutely selected the right photographer.

Kim was very professional, personable and truly terrific to work with for my daughter's winter wedding at Lake Louise. We felt like she was part of the wedding and our family/guests loved her. The pictures are amazing and stunning! I highly recommend her.

We booked Kim Payant Photography for our small wedding/elopement at Emerald Lake Lodge 6 months before the date. We chose the Elopment package for 3 hours (later added an hour). Leading up to the day they were very helpful but not to pushy, being a small wedding we weren’t to picky on details before hand and not always punctual getting back to them. Kim was a bigger help than both my wife and I could imagine. We had some crazy weather that postponed the wedding an entire day and Kim kept in contact not only with us that day but the commissioner, hair and make up, and the venue.If you are planing a wedding in the Banff/lake Louis Area there is a 90% chance Kim has worked with the other vendors, if you don’t decide to use her preferred vendors list. Once the day finally came we were pretty stressed as further delays kept happening, but Kim constantly re-assured us. Once she arrived Kim acted as our personal planner arranging every little detail we didn’t think of, taking amazing pictures while directing us. She had all the perfect spots and hustled us to each location so we can still catch the ideal sunlight. Even humoured us with last minute photo’s cracking our Champaign in front of the fireplace, and photos on the balcony. We got our sneak peak photos within a couple days and received our official photos when we got back from our honeymoon. All of the options available online once the photos are ready is very convenient and hassle free to order. We can’t thank Kim enough for everything extra she did for us. All of her years of being a Photographer in the Canadian Rockies definitely shows and I can’t imagine coming across a situation she hasn’t already dealt with. This company is Professional, knowledgeable of the area, and friendly with both us and our guests. We Couldn’t recommend Kim Payant Photgraphy enough as a choice for someone’s wedding.

AMAZING!!! Kim is down to earth and very professional. She is stealthy - didn't notice her climbing everywhere to get that perfect photo! She made us feel comfortable and at ease. She's hands on and will assist with anything. Don't know how to put a boutonniere on your brother or bustle your dress? Don't worry, she's got you covered! She knew all the best places to take photos at Emerald Lake and the Natural Bridge. She had recommendations for other vendors that would work with what we wanted (cake, flowers). Very flexible in her packages. We received a few teaser pictures the next day to share with friends, family (or social media) and they are outstanding. Can't get over how amazing she is at what she does! We just received our full set of photos and I'm in love with every single one. She captured every moment!

We hired her for a full day wedding photography package and let me assure you it was well worth the price. Kim is a pleasure to work with. She followed us around all day and even kept us on schedule. She knows all the beautiful spots in Banff for photos and her shots are postcard perfection. She is very professional yet laid back enough that she is very easy to talk to and pose for. My family was very impressed with her knowing all their names ahead of time even! The 1000+ wedding photos we got took 8 weeks to edit and get back to us in the busiest wedding season. She gave us about 20 of the best photos a couple days after the wedding though to tie us over though.

Kim's experience and advice was immensely helpful for planning our wedding during the pandemic. Her style is intimate (lots of hand holding, kissing, hugging), classic and romantic. On the day of the wedding, Kim is flexible with her time. For our small wedding of 42 people, Kim did the entire shoot herself and was able to capture the moments we wanted. Kim was the photographer for my wife Kristine and I’s wedding on September 18th in Banff. Kim was an absolute pleasure to work with for the three hours we had her booked. Our day started routinely, but our outdoor wedding plans were suddenly thwarted by 30 mins of Mother Nature’s wrath. Kim quickly went from just photographer, to helping my wife get ready under pressure as I secured an impromptu indoor venue. Just after the ceremony the weather cleared, and Kim got to work on outdoor photos as the weather had cleared just in time. We only had 20 family members at the wedding, and the bride and my family’s are blended, making for many family combinations. Kim was insanely good with remembering everybody in our family’s names, and with awesome efficiency, made the best use of our time booked and took photos of as many combinations of different family members as possible. The day ended with her taking us to a nice little lake, to salvage the nice mix of fog and sun that had showed up at golden hour. She is based in Banff, but travelled to Jasper for us for the wedding day. She was so great to work with both during our engagement shoot and on the day of. Her experience clearly shows when you meet her, she is so knowledgeable and her photos are amazing. Kim was great to work with leading up to the wedding and really helpful when we were figuring out our timeline. We had a sneak peek of our wedding photos back the next day and the rest soon after – they turned out absolutely gorgeous and we are having such a hard time picking which ones to print and put in albums, as they are all so good. Simply put, Kim did an incredible job. I came to her with a vague idea for the proposal on a tight timeline, and she provided expert tips on how I should organize it with a high level of responsiveness. She captured the moment absolutely perfectly - we still cannot get over how she was able to capture our emotions so well from so many angles (our friends/family are beyond impressed with me here - I'm receiving far too much credit!). My fiancée was entirely surprised and did not suspect a thing which speaks to Kim's experience. After the initial action shots, Kim went above and beyond with the photo shoot. I am highly unphotogenic yet felt at ease - Kim was helpful with suggestions, but it felt surprisingly natural/relaxed. She took a lot of shots that we would not have considered and brought us to an area nearby for additional pictures. Going with a professional photographer and going with Kim were two excellent decisions - we will be forever grateful that these moments were so masterfully captured. We could not recommend her enough.
