We can not say enough about Shirleen and Troy! When my wife and I decided that we wanted to elope in Banff, our top priority was finding the best photographer possible to capture our special day. Shirleen has been taking our family photos since my daughter was a baby. (She is now 9 yo) I live in Edmonton and try to go down to Banff at least once a year to have a portrait session. At first I thought she was a bit on the expensive side, but I’ve come to realize that the price I pay is insignificant to the beautiful work she creates year after year for me. The portraits hang all over my house and I love them. I can stare at them forever. Talent aside, Shirleen is one of those easy going people that can connect with anybody. Our Wedding was a destination wedding and took place in Punta Cana. We were going to pick a wedding photography package that came with the resort, instead, we chose Shirleen and Troy at Burnett Photography and so glad we did! They went above and beyond what we ever expected. Shirleen appeared at my Surprise Bridal Shower where she photographed the big surprise!!! I am SOOO thankful that she captured it in photos/video putting together a slide show of the day. I can't tell you how many times I have watched it and cried! She was also part of our Pre-Wedding photo shoot where herself and Troy created an environment for us to feel comfortable to be in front of the camera prior to our Destination Wedding. Shirleen and Troy have such a lovely spirit, still to this day, they are love birds after how many years of marriage?! Who wouldn't want to be photographed by Love Birds on YOUR wedding day! They are always cheerful, happy, creative, and doing everything they could to make your wedding day go easy and smooth as well as supporting us through the mid-afternoon heat... Yes,,, Troy even fanned me with their photo umbrella, and wiped the sweat off my back with a towel trying to keep be as cool as possible!!!! :D They worked from the morning till the party finished at night, still with smiles on their faces... I even had a moment with Shirleen on the dance floor! These two will not stop! :) I high recommend to do a TRASH THE DRESS Session the next day if you have the chance! It was one of our favourite moments in our wedding week! After the wedding, we received an abundant amount of beautiful photos in both colour and black and white. We decided to enlarge 2 of our favourites onto Canvas (40x28inches) and the quality of the photos turned out excellent!!! We received an AMAZING Wedding Album from Shirleen which we added 2 more copies of so we could give to our Mother's. Shirleen also put together a photo/video slideshow of our day capturing it all!! We knew that when we started planning our wedding four months out that our choice of photographer was going to be one of the most important decisions we would make, especially as we were planning an immediate family-only elopement and wanted to have our day captured in full to be able to share with our friends and family members. It was the romantic fairytale-style of Shirleen and Troy’s photography that encouraged us to contact Burnett Photography to capture our day. Over the next few months, Shirleen was an invaluable wedding planning resource for us, providing us with hair stylist and makeup artist recommendations and answering all of our questions! During the early days of planning, we had reached out to our top choice for marriage officiant and had been turned down; Shirleen made a personal phone call ,and he opened up his availability for us! It’s good to have friends in high places! However, the fondant on the cake for us was that a few days before we met with Shirleen and Troy to look over albums and get to know each other, Matt and I found out we were expecting. The timing was perfect and we told Shirleen and Troy that we wanted to announce our news to everyone during family photos following the ceremony! They loved the idea and we had so much fun brainstorming how to make this happen. On the big day, we felt surprisingly comfortable in front of the camera; there was so much laughter and joking that it felt like we were hanging out with old friends. Our big reveal was a huge surprise for everyone and we are so grateful that we were able to capture everyone’s reactions on film and not only be able to relive that moment, but to share it with our friends and soon, with our little one :) The morning after our wedding we woke up to some great teaser photos, which was a wonderful touch. We received most of our photos within 3 weeks and over the next week we received the rest, including a video compilation and a fun blog. We have friends who’ve had to wait for 3 months to receive their photos back, so getting them back in 3 weeks was unexpected and so appreciated! Thank-you for making our wedding day unforgettable!

We had wedding photos done in Alberta in August (travelling from Ottawa). Shirleen and her husband were absolutely fantastic! Their photos were beautiful, they picked the best locations and were totally prepared with props, and snacks. Communicating with Shirleen and getting everything set up was super easy, and they were super accommodating if we had to make any changes due to weather (thankfully we didn't). Stunning, magazine worthy photographs. This is the quality you can expect from Burnett photography. My now husband and I chose Burnett photography after looking through many different local Banff photography websites. We were looking for a company that would give us photos we would be proud to show for generations and they delivered well over our expectations. We are from Niagara and had decided to elope in Banff/Lake Louise with no guests. We are young professionals that look for quality over quantity. We are very busy and try to choose expert people and services that will give us no drama and are as laid back as we are. Shirleen, Troy and Kaitlyn were exactly that. They were professional but even in the first hour of meeting we could tell it would be a good day because they were just as excited as we were. Each of them are passionate about their work and really try to bring your best self out in each photo. We all became fast friends as if we had known each other for years, this I learned would be so important because the photos reflect how relaxed and how much fun we were having. We were truly in awe of the results, as were all our family, friends and even strangers. In addition to our photos, Kaitlyn helped live stream our ceremony on Facebook for our family and friends to witness as the ceremony was happening. This ended up being incredibly meaningful for us and really a nice added feature to their service. Burnett photography is highly recommended by myself and my husband. Shirleen was our wedding photographer back in August of 2013, and she took over 100 pictures all absolutely amazing!!! To this day those pictures are by far the most beautiful pictures of us and in addiction to giving albums of them to our family we have them displayed all over our house. Our wedding was in Lake Louis where Shirleen new all the best spots for photographs, she drove us around in her car (we didn't have a car) to near by lakes to specific spots (she would stop on the side of the road to take pictures with this exotic looking tree, or jump over bushes to make sure the light and angle was right) and spend her entire day with us. We met Shirleen thru my sister, and she was God sent for us. We didn't have a photographer and when she offered to do the pictures for us we couldn't believe our luck. The next day we were absolutely shocked by how amazing ALL of her pictures turned out. She did a slide show that made us smile with tears. We would have paid Shirleen anything she asked but she did not want to accept any form of payment. Without Shirleen we would not have such beautiful memories of our wedding. We live in Florida and planned our small, intimate (only 8 guests) wedding at Lake Moraine in Alberta remotely via the internet and I feel so blessed to have found Burnett Photography's website. I loved her photography, how she captured special moments during an event and noticed that she really emphasized the importance of lighting. I am very happy we decided to hire Shirleen and Troy for our family photo session, they were very professional, friendly, and so much fun to work with. Even though we chose the location of the photo shoot, they knew exactly where the best views and angles were to take the photos. They brought their own professional equipment to the location, and they have so much experience in choosing specific spots at the location and they guided us with what gestures to do during the photo shoot. They were very friendly, especially that we had a 3 month old baby. They were very accommodating and patient with the baby and us. The process of booking an appointment with them was very simple, and they were very responsive and accommodating to our requests. They also sent us the edited photos very quickly, it was nice to be able to share the photos with friends, family, and on social media just a few days after the photo shoot. We had such a fun and enjoyable time with Shirleen and Troy, they are fantastic and a great team! They were also so much fun to work with! We also loved that they were two photographers at once because we got some nice shots from different angles. We had planned to meet with a couple of different photographers before choosing the Burnett's. We met with them in their home in Canmore and didn't need to meet with anyone else - they were the ones. Our wedding was small - parents and immediate family - but that didn't mean the wedding was any less deserving of their full attention. The professionalism of Shirleen and Troy was excellent - they made my bride and me feel extremely comfortable - which I will admit is a challenge as I hate having my photo taken. We had a couple of shots I really wanted to try and get - and they were excellent in accommodating us. They became part of the wedding and we invited them to stay and join us for the small dinner in wonderful Lake Louise historic train station. I would recommend Troy and Shirleen to anyone looking for the nicest wedding photographers with an eye for excellence.

There are not enough stars to give an accurate review of Shirleen’s work! It was a unbelievable date night for my girlfriend and I. The pictures and experience at Banff springs Fairmont were simply amazing. Wow! Shirleen checked all the boxes and then some. Both Shirleen and Troy are warm, talented, and highly skilled! Rob and I had never in our lives had professional photographs taken. To say we were uncomfortable in front of a camera was an understatement; yet within minutes Shirleen and Troy made us feel so comfortable and confident. Their direction, enthusiasm, encouragement, and dedication, made the experience so enjoyable. There is nothing they won't do for the perfect shot! Shirleen challenged her fear of seaweed and got waste deep while Troy climbed cliffs for the perfect angle! They challenged security guards for the most unique shots in rare locations, they bartered with management at a million dollar hotel for the chance to, not only provide extravagant photos for the hotel to use, but to also showcase us in the most extravagant of locations. The time they put into each day spent with us far exceeded our expectations! They were so generous with their time. To say you get your money's worth is an understatement - it's actually a deal! Their passion for the art they create is evident from start to finish and is contagious! We loved every minute of our time spent with Shirleen and Troy! They aren't just our photographers they have become our friends. We genuinely missed them hours after our final shoot was done. Above and beyond any part of this experience, my favourite was having the pleasure of being in the company of a couple who demonstrates what marriage is all about. Kindness, encouragement, love, laughter, support, and passion. As a wedding shoot this made the experience so much more meaningful and romantic! They are such a team and a joy to observe and be in the company of. Within minutes of meeting them their love for each other, and the art that they create together, was evident. It was an honour to work with them both! Our guests absolutely fell in love with this duo as well - not just the impressive photos that they create but also just the warmth that they bring. They were genuinely family at our wedding!

Shirleen and her husband Troy photographed my proposal to my fiancé (now wife) as well as our wedding ceremony and it was truly incredible. They helped me select the perfect location to propose to my wife at and walked me through exactly where to stand so that they could get the best shots. They even brought champagne and snacks for us to toast the special occasion. The pictures exceeded what I had expected and Shirleen and Troy were super accommodating making sure that we got photos is every spot that we could think of. We had our wedding Ceremony at Lake Louise during the height of the Covid restrictions and were a little worried that our special day might be impacted. Shirleen and Troy came through for us and took all of the necessary precautions to ensure that we could get all of the photos taken that we wanted. I have to say, I think it turned out better than it would have if there weren’t any Covid restrictions. The pictures look amazing and we will cherish them for the rest of our lives.

Shirleen and Troy both took absolutely Gorgeous pictures of us, allowing us to cherish these special moments forever. How do you possibly describe the nicest people? I will do my best. We had Shirleen and Troy do our wedding photos in Canmore Alberta. We met them the day before the wedding just to meet them and talk about what we would like and all that good stuff. They were honestly the nicest people my husband and I have ever met. They were incredibly accommodating and easy going about everything. As long as we were happy they were happy. Shirleen joined myself and brides maids to get hair and make up done, she captured some great moments between us and was just great. Then came with us to the hotel to get ready and then off to the church. Troy joined my husband while he got ready, and my husband was very happy to have him there. During the ceremony they caught every precious moment! I didn't see or hear them throughout the whole thing! After the ceremony they took us around canmore for photos. Oh my goodness, they are the most beautiful photos I have ever seen (biased yes but they are beautiful!) My husband and I are a little awkward when we pose but they posed us perfectly and you would never know how awkward we actually are! Our wedding was July 9th, the next day Shirleen posted a sneak peak of a couple photos and they made me so excited to see the rest. Aug 1 we received a beautiful video and our photos. The turn around on that many photos was insanely fast! Shirleen and Troy made us a video of the day that included snippets of video and pictures from the day. I cannot possibly describe how much this video means to me. It is so perfect and wonderful, I just have no other words to properly tell you what that video means to Mike and I. Our journey with Burnett Photography (Shirleen, Troy and Kaitlyn) began in November 2017. My husband surprised me with a marriage proposal in Banff, Alberta Canada. It was a day I will never forget. It was simply beautiful and just perfect. We were standing on a frozen lake in Lake Louise. Little did I know he hired Burnett Photography to catch our exact moment and arranged for our engagement photos to be taken right after he popped the question. This is when I met Troy and Kaitlyn for the first time. The day could not have been more perfect, full of love, laughter and special moments. We instantly clicked with them as we spent a few hours taking different photos. They felt like home to us and made our day extra special. Well what next…. Time to plan our wedding! We settled on the date December 29, 2018 in Philadelphia, PA. Nick (my now husband) asked me what I thought about the possibility of having Shirleen, Troy and Kaitlyn follow our journey all the way to Philadelphia from Canada. Nick reached out to Shirleen and they were beyond excited. They rearranged their schedules and put our wedding date on their calendar. They flew all the way to Philadelphia for our special day and boy did they make it special! Nick took them through a tour of the city the day before and I was able to meet with them the night before the wedding to share hugs, smiles and excitement. As our gorgeous Wedding day came and gone (went by way to fast)- Shirleen, Troy and Kaitlyn were not only our photographers but a part of our Family. The happiness they felt for us and how comfortable they made everyone feel. The gorgeous photos they had taken of us all over the city were complimented by all of our family and friends. My husband and I vacationed in Banff for our 20th wedding anniversary, and we wanted to mark the occasion with some memorable photos. We chose to go with Shirleen Burnett, and we couldn't have been happier. She and her husband, Troy, worked as a team, and I have to say that hanging out with them was a joy. They made the experience fun and relaxing as they took us around to their favorite spots around Banff, including many areas we likely would not have seen had we been on our own. We came away with some gorgeous photos (although in hindsight I regret having had my straight hair curled, but that's not Shirleen's fault!). We have great memories of our time in Banff. My husband and I were planning a vow renewal in the mountains at Chateau Lake Louise, and hired Burnett photography to take pictures of our event. From beginning to end, Shirleen Burnett and her assistants went above and beyond. I started out by shopping around and contacting several photographers. Shirleen was first to respond and answered all of my questions swiftly and cheerfully. She was willing to travel into the mountains, came with top notch cameras and lighting equipment, arrived on time, had a wealth of creative ideas, and made every moment count.
