Hiring Katie and her team was hands down the best decision my husband and I made while wedding planning! Katie was so thorough from our very first emails and we immediately felt confident booking with her. We opted for Day of Coordination, particularly because we had a venue where we were bringing everything in ourselves and were assigned Alysse as our Coordinator. Despite only booking the Day-of package, both Katie and Alysse provided tons of consulting along the way and steered many of our decisions in the right direction. Their professionalism and attention to detail at all of our meetings was impeccable, while also making us feel super comfortable. As a designer myself, I designed/DIYed/provided all of our decor and I cannot put into words how perfectly Alysse and her assistant executed my vision! Everything was stunning and I kept catching myself just staring at the space in awe throughout the night. Vendor coordination was also a total breeze thanks to Alysse which was a huge relief for us in the weeks leading up to our wedding. We truly had the best day possible all thanks to Alysse and Katie and are so thrilled with our special day. My only grievance is that I can't keep emailing them everyday - feels like someone is missing from our lives now that we're back to reality! :)

We hired Katie as our month of coordinator and to also help us with sourcing some of our vendors. This was probably one of the best decisions we made when planning the wedding. She was able to find some great options for us for a number of vendors and handled all of the communication with them which was a massive time saver. The month of, Katie was our hero. We had a few 'miscalculations' and oversights on our part and she handled it all in stride. She was so good that we didn't even realize the amount of work she was doing until we learned she'd already been in touch with every vendor and had a master schedule in the works. Not having to stress about coordinating every person that month and having her to help solve all the little problems that popped up saved more time than I could count. Her help the day of was just as valuable. We were able to enjoy every minute of the day, knowing we had someone to back us up and solve any issues that came around. She kept everyone on schedule and I'm sure there was a hundred little things I never saw or heard about that she handled seamlessly. We asked her to work at a new venue she'd never seen in a city she didn't know and she never complained once. I'd recommend anyone I know to Katie and her team. Part of me wishes we had hired her to fully plan the wedding because of how well I know it would have been done and how stress free it would have been. Thanks Katie!

We just got married August 4, 2018 and Katie was with us from October 2017. Katie is amazing. She really went above and beyond helping us prepare and think of everything. Leading up to our wedding day, she helped us think of all the edge cases and the little things that we might have overlooked offering vendor contacts, additional materials and equipment to use as well as calling all the vendors to ensure everything would run as planned. Really above and beyond what our expectations were. She made something that would normally have been quite stressful into a joy. I'm the kind of person that likes to make sure that everything runs smoothly and that everyone is happy and comfortable but on the day of, I didn't even think about it because she was so organized and took care of everything from directing vendors and setting up all the way through to tear down. This is a long overdue review of the incredible event planning team Katie has put together. My wife and I were originally on the fence about hiring a planner for our wedding day thinking we’d be able to take care of mostly everything ourselves. We changed our mind and decided we would rather reduce any additional stress on ourselves and let someone else worry about where we needed to be and when. We were not disappointed when we decided to enlist the help of Katie and Alysse! Unfortunately, Katie was not available on our wedding day which was communicated well in advance, but she left Alysse and another team member to manage the day and they both did an amazing job! We were able to enjoy every minute while Alysse and her colleague worked their magic behind the scenes, coordinating the day with our MC, the DJ, the catering staff and even assisting with cleanup at the end of the evening. We've worked with a lot of wedding planners and coordinators and can assure you that you will not be disappointed if you choose Katie! Not only have all of my couples talked about how great she is from their side but from a vendor perspective, and as photographers, she exceeds all expectations and makes the experience for us run very smoothly. She does this by making sure we have a tailored and specific schedule in advance and connects with us prior to the wedding to check in and see what we need from her as well as anything else we need in order to do our job efficiently. She doesn't just stop there, on the day she makes sure all the vendors are where they need to be at the right time, communicates with us constantly throughout the day and if any issues arise you can go straight to her and know that she will deal with it without bothering the clients. When we received an email stating that the wedding planner that we had hired was pregnant and would be unable to coordinate our affairs we were, although very happy for her, very worried about where that would leave us on our big day. Unsure that we would find someone reliable, friendly, well priced and really good at what they did, my sister in law, who was getting married just two months before us, kindly suggested using the services she had come to know and love. To this day I consider those events the divine intervention that led us to be able to work with Katie and her team for our wedding. A consummate professional and always willing to go above and beyond, Katie is the person you want in your corner to handle business, but then also have her afterwards as your friend. There was not one moment that I doubted in Katie's ability to get the task done and done correctly. Never frantic, she emits an infectious sense of calm that does wonders for a bridal parties nerves. Katie never shyed away or made any contentions about the distance of our wedding, or the manual labour that was required by the set up and last minute details that we needed. This was the best money spent for the entire wedding. Katie and her team were incredible. I'm not sure how we would of managed all of the vendors without them. They overdelivered from the package we purchased and were ready to have all the hard conversations on our behalf with our vendors if needed. Katie and her team were spectacular! We got married a little over a month ago and we still have people telling us how beautiful and organized everything was. Katie is so down to earth, professional, knowledgeable (she knows her stuff), calm and very nice. All my questions were answered very quickly, whether it was via email or text. Katie and her team were incredible to work with for our wedding this past June. Katie was very thorough and detailed through our communication and she was always ahead of the ball in preparing for all scenarios that may arise! She kept my husband and I at ease for preparing for the day. She headed communication with our venue and vendors as needed and remained professional and confident throughout. It was great having her on our side!! The day of, we had her associate Alysse and her assistant. As expected, the day ran smoothy and they helped with set up and tear down without us having to worry. The BEST wedding coordinator you could ask for!! We booked Katie as a “Month-Of Coordinator” based off of a friend’s recommendation a few months after we got engaged. From the start, she was very punctual, professional and detail oriented. We loved her energy and calm demeanour (especially given how hectic wedding planning can be!). However, booking March 2020 as our original date, things didn’t go as planned. We were unfortunately one of the couples who had to cancel days out ahead of the first lockdown of the pandemic. It was a stressful experience, but Katie was truly an amazing partner to work with. She was there every step of the way - having challenging conversations with vendors and managing our expectations during that initial heartbreak. She was flexible, accommodating and very empathetic to everything we were feeling, we truly don’t know how we would have handled all of the chaos of cancelling and rescheduling the day without her help and support. Between multiple date changes, changing restrictions and our overall frustration with replanning, Katie continued to keep us updated on wedding protocols and answered every single email/call with patience and understanding. Her suggestions and advice made us excited to replan for what felt like a time of too much uncertainty. When we finally got to get married, Katie and her team made sure it was perfect. They brought every single idea and detail to life in creating the wedding celebration of our dreams - immediately allowing us to forget all of the stress of the past 18 months! Throughout a very busy day where it’s easy to lose track of time, she kept us on schedule but did so in the calmest way possible. We were able to enjoy the evening completely carefree as we had absolute confidence in her. She also assisted with set up and tear down of our DIY projects, which made things much easier for us. On top of everything, her pricing was very reasonable and she goes above and beyond for every single couple. A few friends have since booked Katie and shared the same sentiments. We would HIGHLY recommend Katie to anyone who wants their dream wedding to come to life, we cannot emphasize it enough!!

Katie Watkowski and her team were ABSOLUTELY amazing! If you are thinking of booking a coordinator but have not been convinced to do so, this will be the best money you spend. This was the first ever wedding we had at our family farm. Katie ensured all the details the bride and groom wanted were captured and their dreams came true. My husband and I last minute decided that instead of waiting for everything to be "fully open" we would have our wedding 2 months out. After chatting with a few friends about how feasible this was, we were quickly provided a recommendation to reach out to The Event Design Company. It was the best decision ever! We were lucky enough to have Katie be our month-of coordinator and we subsequently discovered that she had planned several weddings in our extended friend groups. We all agree that she is exceptional at what she does. 2021 was probably one of the busiest years for the wedding industry, and yet she was so responsive, patient and overall such a calming person and really made us feel like we had her full attention and time. She really made sure we had considered all of our options and made us feel great with the decisions we had made. We were truly able to enjoy our special day without being bogged down by little details such as wondering when things would be delivered, who would set up/tear down, or how we would deal with any unexpected issues . We hired her for the our wedding just over a month out and she was absolutely amazing, from the first meeting she’s easy to talk to and on top of detail. We truly enjoyed our wedding day, thanks to Katie and Alysse!! From the smooth and responsive communication, to the flawless execution of a rather elaborate wedding, Katie and her team knew to manage vendors, guests, and family members (we all know what that means), while ensuring our vision came to life seamlessly. Better yet: I think it was just past midnight when I first realized what time it was. It was as she had promised: we were guests at our wedding! For the entire day and night of the wedding, Katie had managed to keep things moving in such an effortless way that we never had to wonder or worry about the time. Our wedding with no running water in the barn and everything to DIY or rent meant that Katie’s job was no small feat to start with; she excelled. I will mention a few personal highlights: my (picky French) mother still speaks about Katie’s “perfect job”; guests told me how impressed they were when, for example, Katie appeared out of nowhere to sweep a broken glass that had just broken; our ceremony started on time—you read that correctly. I could go on. We feel very grateful for her calm and professional demeanour, which still allowed for a sense of humour and most importantly, smart and independent decision-making with constant attention to detail.

Unfortunately had a horrible experience with Katie. My sisters wedding was back in June, and Katie left all of the wedding presents outside of the cottage we were staying at allowing public access to these gifts. Following the wedding I (the sister of the bride) received a message from the photographer asking for the brides information BECAUSE Katie was refusing to give her contact information to him. That meant that the photographer (Studio2000) had to go out of his way to talk to my old boss to contact me. That was all unprofessional, and during the reception she left all the .cards with $ in it to the intoxicated family members to deal with, instead of keeping them in a safe location that was agreed upon before. With that being said we have now lost thousands of dollars that were gifted to my sister and brother in-law due to her unprofessionalism. I would not recommend ever trusting katie with the responsibility of your event in her hands.

There were about 1001 decisions to be made when it came to planning our wedding. We were over 4 months out and I was already swearing that the best decision we ever made was hiring Katie from The Event Design company as our Day of/Month of coordinator. 3 weeks after the wedding and not only am I still saying it, but i quite honestly believe the wedding would not have been as perfect as it was without her. I am a type A control freak, who has a hard time letting go of anything. I started out the wedding planning insisting i didn't need help and would do it all myself, but ended up seeking out Katie to assist with the set up and tear down of the wedding day decor. That's all I thought I needed; but Katie went so far above and beyond from the minute she was brought on board. She is so knowledgeable and experienced, that she was there to answer every question, give honest professional advice and look into everything from bakeries, to shuttle services and more. She allowed me to be as involved as I wanted to be and have control over what I needed to, while still taking over all the things I needed help with. When it came to the weeks leading up to the wedding, there is no chance I would have made it through without her. The detail and organization that goes into everything she does is incredible and her calm, but excited energy is infectious. Everyone loved her; but I knew, at the end of the day she had my husband and my back, with our best interests at the forefront at all time. The wedding day was absolutely perfect. Every member of our bridal party (all of which had been in several weddings before) separately commented that they couldn't believe how smoothly the day went. Our schedule was jam packed, but everyone was calm and if anything went wrong I certainly didn't know about it. She executed my vision and took it up another notch entirely. Knowing how capable she was, the girl who lets go of nothing, was able to be completely present and soak up every single moment of the day. I worried about nothing and enjoyed everything and I owe that to The Event Design Company. I would recommend her and her team to anyone planning a wedding, no matter how big, or what you need, you will look back and thank yourself for making that choice!
