This is a world class facility. From the design down to the food that is served, the staff and grounds keepers. This community has lots to be proud of and are a leading light in this corner of Nova Scotia. The audio visual infrastructure was great, the catering was terrific and the general comfort of those who attended the conference I went to was high.

I love the pedway between the hotel and conference centre. They are extremely attentive at the Hampton's although the walls are too thin (unless you want to know what the family next door is up to). The food is good at Kiju's. I didn't get to eat there on this visit, but have multiple times in the past, and they've been able to accommodate my celiac. The conference spaces are what they need to be. We were there for a dance competition, so the hallways are a bit too small for the crowds. They allowed a fundraising booth to park in an already narrow junction because it was a high traffic point. That kind of logic is my main reason for not giving more stars. They certainly deserve more, except that they clearly aren't thinking about safety in an emergency. Too many obstacles in traffic paths will make any evacuation into a tragedy. Back to the positive, though: the historical display in the hallway is very well done. I reread it every visit.

Attending a wedding here in September, was decorated beautifully and the layout was very well organized. The dinner was also delicious and staff very helpful. I also made the wedding cake and as I arrived the staff was nice enough to find a cart to help me transport it and directed me to the room and table to get it set up.

From a performers perspective the facilities are great. Clean and comfortable. Staff are helpful and courteous. The hall has great acoustics and the sound staff always do a great job with sound both front of house and on stage. Always enjoy performing here. Four stars for this facility only because there is always room for improvement.

We held our wedding reception at Membertou, April helped us out the entire way. I planned this for about two years and April was extremely helpful and accommodating. Dinner was fantastic at Kiju's and the reception room was a great size. During the reception the bartender was fantastic as well! I was very impressed by the service and the help along the way. It was not until afterwards that I was disappointed. We were told that we could leave the decor in the room until the following evening, which I was not expecting them to accommodate. This seemed great until something went missing. They have security on all of the time as well as cameras and they somehow did not notice someone going into the hall and taking something. The items were never recovered and I was told that they are not responsible. I was very disappointed in their ability to secure the hall. In addition, we did a half price bar which they overestimated to make sure we covered the cost. We were then to get a refund afterwards of what was not spent. I was completely okay with this process and would not expect anything else. When the event was over we did not hear anything for over a week until I emailed asking about it. I was informed that it takes two weeks to process the refund. I think it is very odd that this would take so long, when the process to take money from me took two seconds. Overall Planning and the event was spectacular, how they handled the situations afterwards was shady and disappointing.
