As a wedding photographer, I have attended many weddings and had a lot of time to think about how I wanted to style my own wedding. When we got engaged, we knew straight away that the Fort Common was the perfect venue for us. A challenge that came with our dream venue was flipping the ceremony space into the reception space while our guests were still on site. We knew The Good Party would be the perfect team to style this beautiful space and execute the design and flip flawlessly. We wanted our wedding design to be unique, urban, and fun! We planned on incorporating some fun focal pieces, but didn’t know how it would all come together. The Good Party took our vague ideas and made them 100x times better. They took our disjointed Pinterest board and carefully thought about which items would look great in the space while still bringing in all of the elements we loved. They knew exactly where to source everything, and also made some great suggestions for when we were looking for certain items that weren’t available to rent locally. A definite highlight was our tropical florals! We wanted our wedding to be unique, so bringing a variety of tropical leaves into an urban/industrial setting really did the trick. The tablescape and place settings were better than I could have imaged, and the bridal bouquet was absolutely stunning. The Good Party was amazing every step of the way, and we can’t thank them enough for creating our dream wedding.

Emma McCormick and her team of amazing professionals are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING - there really are no words to describe how efficient, effective, solution based, articulate, fun and communicative these fine group of ladies are. Our Wedding took place during a typhoon at Hatley Castle, and Emma and her team had our backs every step of the way. They literally thought of everything and were able to problem solve on the spot. Our wedding turned out better than we could have possibly imagined. I would definitely hire Emma again in a heartbeat. And, if ever I have another special event, I will. Thanks Emma!!!

I wanted to share a rave review about Emma and her team. During the Covid-19 pandemic, they have been busy bringing cheer and thanking essential workers with balloon garlands, among other social distancing artistry I am sure! A friend of ours (a doctor from the UK on a Fellowship here in Victoria at Jubilee hospital) was scheduled to be in Victoria until July, but made the tough decision with to return to the UK to help fight the pandemic there. They had to pack up their life in Victoria in two weeks and we really were at a loss for how to send them off well, when physical distancing was required. We arranged for a car parade send-off, but Emma (and her stealth staffer, Marley) anonymously installed a balloon garland the night before, and it really added such a celebratory touch to send our friends off well- their 2 & 4 year old daughters were amazed and delighted! Thank you Emma & Marley for that gift of your time and supplies, and for creating a spirit of appreciation and celebration in an otherwise uncertain and unnerving time. I will be recommending you highly to anyone who requires an unforgettable impression to their event!

Emma and her team are absolutely incredible. Emma is super well connected with all the right vendors, and has a great eye for style and all the small details. She takes the time understand what her clients want and how to execute their vision flawlessly. From the beginning to the end, Emma was there every step of the way —managing budget, finding the best vendors that suited us and our needs and coordinating our 3 day destination wedding. Our wedding was on a family property in the Gulf Islands, everything from a fork to a chef station was brought in. The level of detail required to pull our wedding off was obvious to all our guests, who were so impressed. The whole team felt like friends who had our backs and went above and beyond for us. We are so thankful, it was such a magical wedding and we enjoyed every minute of it. Everything went off without a hitch, which is not an easy thing to do on a small island with no taxis, limited accommodations and resources.
