We met with several planners during our search, but Shannon blew us away with this perfect proposal package complete with a colour theme, inspo pics and a vision after our initial consultation! I knew I wanted a light tunnel for the reception, and Shannon knew exactly what I was talking about (her own wedding, which you should check out on her website, turned out to have THE MOST GORGEOUS light tunnel too!). I took it as a sign and we began our planning process. She has a package called a "petite wedding" (cute!) which we absolutely loved. We marketed our wedding this way to our guests so they knew it would be an intimate group. We told Shannon our Le Belvedere/pergola dreams, and within a few weeks, she was able to present the most perfect package for us (price, value, everything was spot on)! She was kind and accommodating when we had guest invite drama, and super reassuring when I had a couple of breakdowns. Her planning platform was a lifesaver for someone like me who's type A and loves organization. We planned for an outdoor ceremony and reception under the light tunnel, but thunder/rain was forecasted, so we had to do plan B. It was still SOOO dreamy and my slight disappointment quickly turned into pure delight when I saw the reception space!!! Shannon planned the WHOLE decor/concept with our florist (The Gathering Event Co.) and I didn't have to do one thing (except to post pinterest)! The day of the wedding, we did nothing but show up and enjoy ourselves and we had the most dreamiest of days. Though we never met in person before the wedding thanks to COVID, it was so lovely hugging her the day of and finally meeting her! We call her superwoman! YOU GUYS! We were recommended to Shannon through a friend of a friend and she was the most fantastic planner and spirit to have on our team throughout the wedding process! Shannon was organized, knew all the right people and vendors, made sure we stayed on track, and had a plan (and a backup plan) for everything we didn't even know we needed to think of. On our wedding day, everything ran SEAMLESSLY for us, we didn't worry about set up, tear down, or anyone being late. She made sure to be in contact with all of our vendors and keep everything running smoothly and safely! We had a groomsman faint mid-ceremony (don't worry - everyone was ok) and, out of nowhere, Shannon appeared with orange juice and helped him to a more private location to recover. Her professional and calm approach ensured that our groomsman was able to rejoin us for the reception and turned a scary moment into a humourous wedding story. (Or really at any time) Give yourself a gift and bring Shannon into your corner to make sure the day runs smoothly, you fill in those gaps for vendors, and your day is low stress and beautiful! We pulled Shannon and Petite Weddings into our plan less than 3 weeks to the new day-of. She quickly got up to speed on our scattered plans and secured finding us a caterer, decor rentals, tent and a mobile bar (shout-out to Country Club Caravans) available at a short notice and within our budget. Shannon was very responsive by email and text message, for even the littlest idea or question. She has such a positive energy and a vision for making your ideas come to life. My husband, Josh, and I got engaged on Christmas Day 2019. We thought we would wait to get married in about a year and a half, but we didn’t start thinking about what we wanted to do until we were right in the heart of the first wave of Covid-19 in March and April 2020. I knew that with our work schedules, and I was also finishing a masters program, we needed a planner to help guide us through the process and keep our sanity in check. I had been following a few planners on Instagram, but when Shannon announced the launch of her Petite Weddings service in April - a small wedding, but still with all of the style of a full wedding - I knew she was ahead of the curve and would be a great ally to have when we decided to get married this October 1st. (We’re pragmatists and thought why stretch out the planning when the end result next year might be the same with public health restrictions and precautions?) We loved the decor team she was working with and she connected us with vetted vendors for the remaining services that we wanted. We had a simple, but gorgeous backyard wedding on my husband’s family property. We kept our guest list small (ended up being 20 the day of), but she set us up with a wonderful videography team who live-steamed / recorded our ceremony to share with family and friends who could not be there! Most of our planning took place in the last month and a half, and it all came together with absolutely minimal stress. Given everything going on during this pandemic, the only thing we had to worry about was that everyone was healthy. Shannon took care of everything the day of - coordinating the set-up with our decor, videography, and photographer, DJing our ceremony music, coordinating our processional and events afterwards since we couldn’t do a rehearsal - and we were truly able to enjoy our day and be in the moment. We were truly able to enjoy our wedding day, knowing Shannon was managing everything (and I mean, everything) behind the scenes. Following our Zoom consultation, there was no question that we wanted Shannon to be part of our wedding day. Planning a wedding with Shannon was really enjoyable. We opted for the full wedding coordination package, and she assisted us in planning an intimate wedding for 50 of our family members and closest friends. Shannon takes the time to really get to know her clients and then delivers the exact vision you discussed. Some of our favourite parts about our wedding aesthetic were Shannon's ideas that we never would have thought of on our own (like a clear top tent, holy beautiful!). The provincial regulations changed and we were no longer able to host our wedding at our original location. Pandemic, or not, you need Shannon part of your special day. She works with an A-Team of vendors, and has a plan for everything. My husband and I were able to totally relax and get ready with our respective wedding parties day of, knowing Shannon was on site early ensuring all vendors arrived on time. Absolutely fantastic event planner! We used Shannon for our wedding and my fiancée found that she took away a lot of the stress of planning. We got married in a different city than where we live and from where Shannon lives but she worked with vendors to realize our vision. The wedding day is where we appreciated Shannon's work most as she allowed us to enjoy the wedding rather than do work or worry about details. There were many instances where she managed to salvage unexpected roadblocks and save the day. Her resources and very extended connections in the wedding community were definitely an asset to have! Not professional business at all, don`t even bother asking for the free consultation. Reached out to them 2 months ago. Never heard anything back till I finally called them, Shannon asked me to send her another email, which I did. Again nothing. Called the next day, she said she received and will reply in the afternoon. Never heard anything till a few days later with a very general email even though I was very specific in my email. Asked for an appointment in my next reply and she won`t reply till another 2 days later to say they are no longer available on the date I selected which is 9 months from now. Totally unacceptable and not professional enough towards earning your business. There is a big competition in this industry and losing prospects one after another is what seems to be the destiny of this company.

Shannon did such a wonderful job at our wedding that without her we simply wouldn't have a wedding. Being from out of town, we relied on her for everything and she was resourceful, responsive, and patient. I have to say that one trait you definitely want your planner to have is patience. Shannon's positivity and professionalism were simply incredible. My husband and I are not the creative kind, so she was in charge of coming up with everything in terms of decor and it looked spectacular. Her network of vendors was extremely impressive and everyone she recommended delivered over and above our expectations. My only suggestion for the bride and groom would be to ensure to discuss your budget expectations in as much detail as possible during your first meeting. We were disappointed by the service provided by Kennedy Event Planning. We found Shannon personable but not particularly organized. She missed her own deadlines and was often difficult to get a hold of. It may have been that she was busy with other contracts but in that case it would have been more professional for her to have been upfront in that regard and not take on our contract. Rather than making the work of planning a wedding easier, it actually added to our workload.

Whether the task was lifting boxes of alcohol into her truck to get them to the venue, or directing event participants, she performed her job with a smile. Shannon and her team took care of our wedding this past June and we have nothing but positive things to say!! Imagine having a giant SINKHOLE occur just outside your venue resulting in evacuations and lack of hot water and power within days of your wedding! Shannon was quick to keep us in the loop with updates and I could trust her to be on top of having a back up plan ready to go. My friends and family were shocked at how calm I was when the sinkhole happened and I can say that without a doubt, it was knowing we had Shannon and Kennedy Events on the job. That alone was worth the cost of a planner. I am notorious with my friends and family for being an unforgiving customer when I am not happy with service provided and I will admit that I can be difficult to please. Shannon and her team surpassed my expectations. Shannon was extremely responsive from day 1 and was always ready to take a call/text/email (say, for example, when you are in the middle of IKEA on a weekend trying to figure out which are the right candles to buy and need an answer right away because, well, it is IKEA on a weekend). In fact, Shannon's responsiveness is one of the major reasons we liked her and chose her after having met with other planners. I am sure no one wants to read a super long review, but here are some of the highlights of Shannon and her team's greatest contributions to our dream wedding day (above and beyond her caring and super enthusiastic attitude): -- recommending vendors for every possible idea we had which gave us comfort knowing that whoever we picked could be trusted to do a good job and was suited to us and our plans. -- made suggestions (and reality checks) to help us keep within our budget -- ALWAYS worked to ensure we were 100% satisfied with the "vision" (cheesy I know but it seems to be the best word to use here) even as it shifted over the planning due to availability, budget or just me changing my mind :) -- I have a tendency to overthink every decision (even the tiniest ones about ribbons...seriously, ribbons!) and having Shannon to constantly (and repeatedly) consult and to tap into her experience gave me tremendous piece of mind (and probably was a relief to my family :)) -- I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE BENEFIT OF SHANNON AND HER TEAM THE DAY OF THE WEDDING !! We were truly able to just enjoy the day and spend time with our loved ones because Shannon and her team took care of everything that day. Actually, if anything went wrong, I still do not know about it. To us, it was a perfect day. --Making sure my new husband and I actually ate during our reception! -- Anytime Shannon thought I was stressing (and not admitting it to her) she would immediately suggest we have a chat over coffee and make sure she talked through whatever was on my mind (even ribbons!) --Attending any vendor meetings we wanted her to attend and asking all the questions we didn't even know we should ask. Also offering tips to help us choose the right vendors for us (and we LOVED every single one!) --I had confidence that the timeline was always being watched all year and she made sure everything in her checklist was being completed on time....again, her expertise with the timing of the day-of was invaluable. I could really go on and on but I think the best thing I can say is that I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Kennedy Event Planning. My view is that in the wedding planning business, it is critical to have a frank conversation about expectations with your planner and a conversation that is rather detailed (e.g. who will take care of procuring decor, who contacts vendors, who pays vendors, who sets up decor, who designs the reception, etc.). While I am the type that was heavily involved in the planning, I'm sure I could have told Shannon my wishes and she would have made it so. But in our case, she took my plans and made it happen and better yet I could 100% trust that every little detail would be perfect. I think it's so important to be able to trust your wedding planner and this is something I had zero doubts about. She also was so protective of us when it came to ensuring that our day was about us. It's so easy when planning a wedding to try and make others happy but Shannon was adamant that all of our wishes come true - it's so reassuring to know you have someone like that in your corner. The day of our wedding, I could not be happier to know we were in Shannon's hands. It allowed our families and us to have such a relaxing, stress-free day. I honestly couldn't say enough about how happy we are that we decided to hire Shannon. I would do it again (if only we could!!!) and would happily recommend her to any of my friends/family. I miss her in my life!
Like many couples this past year and a half, my husband and I were forced to cancel, reschedule, cancel and reschedule our wedding date countless times. This is probably the best day of my life, nothing could have gone any better from the final touches in the morning, to the beautiful ceremony, and the seamless transition to the venue for the reception. So many moving parts, yet Shannon, who was an extreme delight to work with, made sure everyone was calm and collected for the BIG DAY! It wasn't even my wedding (Groomsman and MC), but this goes to show how much added value a great wedding planner like Shannon brings to the table!
