Saturday night to get into the place after 10PM there's a line up for a night club under it. It was very hard to get through the door with a mean security guard when I was going to the party upstairs and not the night club ????
DO NOT TRY. This venue RUINED what was meant to be the best moment for my friend. Horrible conflict management. Lack of fair treatment. GREEDY. They should revise their values because we're getting everything but the HOSPITALITY they claim to have. If you're trying to see the worst side of Calgary, get your wedding there. Also, it WON'T be the best day of your life, and they'll make sure of it.
Over rated
Company I work for rented a party room at sixs't floor. The personnel was cleaning our tables while we were gone for a chat or washrooms, even though our jackets were on our seats. I had asked them twice to bring back my drinks.
The only great thing to work at Hudson's bay is the discount. Other than that the managers are not professional at all. Some staff are not trained well enough. Knowing this the managers still won't take another step to improve. They just know how to embarrass other staff in front of other people.
The space is nicely finished, adaptable, a great size (and flexible) and in a prime location. As a third party planner I would use this space again and for many different types of events. Their in-house AV (Encore) were very responsive and solution oriented. Our service from the team on the day of the event was fantastic: friendly, speedy and helpful. It did take me a few chasing emails in the planning stages to get responses - HOWEVER, it was right as things were starting to come back from COVID, and I know the entire industry was overwhelmed. Overall a great experience and I would recommend the space and the team. Thank you.
Went for a company function. Great venue, fantastic food, and a really flexible space. Nobody even knew that there was a games room back there!

Beautiful venue
Great events space and the food was delicious! Only issue was that at our event, there weren't enough servers to staff the bar and also wait on tables, so the bar was closed for long periods during dinner service, and many tables ran out of table wine.

If I could offer Hudson 0 stars I would in a heartbeat. We hired them in July of 2019 to host our July 2020 wedding. We should have seen their lack of hospitality from day one but we were excited and shrugged over a few things. Email responses would take forever, some times we were waiting 3-5 days to get a simple yes or no response. It took us two weeks to coordinate with Chrissy to even drop off the deposit, and on the day of my fiancé called her to let her know we were there and she said to just give it to the reception at the Guild (imagine a company telling you to drop off $2,500 to a random at a restaurant they are affiliated with). After that they said they would contact us early march to do a taste testing so, we didn't have to hear from them for a while. However, February of 2020, I get an email saying they missed to inform us that our first payment was due which was fine with us but it took them 2 months to realize they didn't do their job. Except, I was traveling and so I told my fiancé to drop of the cheque. Little did we know COVID was on its way in a week and we were going to get screwed over. They got the payment immediately and then we began to receive emails of how they are pushing the taste testing and then Calgary went into lockdown and businesses were closed well after our wedding date. SO IN SHORT: they have our money, we got zero services, and we were the ones at loss. Since we knew covid was going to be around we asked for our money back as the contract was frustrated and did not want a wedding anymore. We only wanted the first payment back not the hall deposit. We got a NO. They came back a few times, and we did not accept. After 3 months of back and forth and mental drainage we sat down face to face with Matt and tried to have a proper conversation. He went back to the big boss, got us a "better" deal and we were so drained we accepted, and thought to ourselves we would have them cater if we ever had a celebration for our marriage. Its been another 3 months since we accepted the deal. We have not received our money, even though Matt said "it will be coming [our] way ASAP" and its just more and more frustration. I really regret even giving this company a chance. They are crooks, dishonest, lazy, incompetent and over all dont have your best interest at heart. This review comes after over a year of dealing with them and seeing all the errors and lack of care they've put into a customer. They've lost out on a client, on money, and on a good review. I was so excited to host my wedding there, but in the end I'm happy this happened because who knows what my wedding day would have looked like in their hands.

Just came back from a wedding reception there, the food was horrible. The Arctic Char was so salty, that we couldn't eat it. Gave it back to the maitre d. A few minutes later he came back out with another fish, just as salty as the first one. if i wanted to eat salted fish i would've gone to a chinatown grocery store and brought some salty fish and some rice to go along with it. i check with a few other guest and they said the same thing.The Alberta Rib Eye Steak was so under cook we also had to send it back to the kitchen not once but twice. And the waitress assured has they'll all be medium.
Private Christmas party. Facilities are great, attentive staff. Food was disappointing; it looked and smelled amazing but was all very bland and oily.

Worst customer service ever. We booked a haul in the 6th floor for Middle Eastern wedding, the food was awful and it’s not worth the money we’ve paid. Also we specifically ordered a Middle Eastrean drink to be available as a part of the culture for whom asks for it which is called Arak. They didn’t have this dink, and when we we had our own from somewhere else, they took the only one bottle from us and ruined our night. I’ve talked to the manager which’s the one who’s took the bottle from me just to leave me that bottle!! Reminding him that we’ve paid a lot of dollars to enjoy our cousin’s wedding and ignoring the bad service & the awful food they’ve served, but he didn’t listen!! Hey ruined our night, we’re NOT satisfied with anything. Do NOT waist your money booking this place for your occasion, it might look look me a fancy place in a very nice road; but as soon as you walked in!! It’s going to be the same as everywhere else. Do NOT go there, NOT recommended.
Very well maintained facility with very helpful team members for our company's meeting. To exit the facility, just be patient when there are lots of attendees.

Just got back from a wedding reception. It took over 3 hours to get the main course. Almost a hour between the soup salad and then finally the main course. The water TASTED like it came right from the sewer line. The head caterer was Drunk and they was almost a fight between him and the groom then all of the kitchen staff came out was going to turn out to be a all out brawl. Very Unprofessional. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere!!!!!!

I had left my coat at coat check there at an event now 4 weeks ago. I have called numerous times and always told someone else would be contacting me. Someone finally did last week and said our coats are not there, although i still have my coat check ticket, and they would look somewhere else and call me back within a few minutes. It has now been almost a week and still no call back. They have TERRIBLE communication. How they get business is beyond me.

Had my wedding ceremony and reception there. The event coordinator was horrible. The lady I started with, quit her job, and then the replacement was awful. She seemed to forget all the important details we talked about. Freight elevator was broken on our wedding day. We had to haul ALL our decor down Stephen Ave on small trolleys, which obviously took a long time.... and then we were being rushed to leave the venue before we had finished decorating because the manager no longer wanted to be there. ALSO, since the freight elevator wasn’t working we were unable to remove our 7’x7’ arch from the building after the event, and were told it was okay to leave it in their back space to store until we were able to pick it up. We agreed on a date to pick it up a month and a half later, as we knew we were going to have a large U Haul rented that day and when we went to pick up the arch, it was gone! Our event coordinator wasn’t there and the one who was, was very rude and dismissive, saying it wasn’t her problem that the arch was missing and we will have to wait to speak to an event manager... all of which were conveniently on vacation. When I contacted our event coordinator to ask where our arch was, she responded “well, we are not a storage unit, so we can’t guarantee the safety and security of your personal belongings”! Alsooooo, a staff member dropped the bottom tier of our wedding cake on the floor andddd my sister had to go behind the bar on multiple occasions get bottles of wine and champagne for the head table because our glasses were empty for very long periods of time. All in all, the beautiful venue and good food does not make up for the unprofessional staff and unfortunate experiences revolving around our wedding day!
I recently planned our firms holiday party at The Hudson and it was one of the best events we’ve planned so far. The space very spacious and beautiful. We had over 190 guests, had room for a lounge area, photobooth and a fun money casino! Their food is absolutely amazing and the staff was awesome!! Chrissy made the event planning portion a delight! I absolutely would recommend using the Hudson for your function be it personal or corporate!

They put on a Fashion event with Appetizers for a paid $ ticket. Appetizers were not very good. Fashions were ugly! I can't imagine Who would wear them!

Absolutely impressed with the Hudson. As a professional DJ it was a pleasure performing there. I would definitely not hesitate to recommend such a really great place for corporate parties or weddings. The washrooms were clean, food was delicious and staff were far excellence to deal with.
