Artisan Baking was so busy and fulfilling. Learned a lot from the instructor, Marnie and the course. Thanks - highly recommended.

Our favourite cooking school! Nothing compares to Thierry & Marnie’s knowledge and enthusiasm about food, wine & teaching. We’ve learned so much and continue to come back for more. A must try in the city of Calgary - you will not be disappointed !!

While trying to support a local business, unforeseen circumstances occurred where my friend had to quarantine because of an exposure of COVID at work. The business was unwilling to rebook and was being unreasonable. If we paid for the cost of supplies AND rescheduled afterwards, would you actually be losing money? No. I don't see how they could respond by saying that it would ruin their restaurant when we are trying to compensate them AND come back at a different time. This was in no way her fault. Things happen and I think if they actually valued their customers, they would have been more reasonable. Very unprofessional as well because they texted near midnight to argue. I know our current climate has changed and people have anxiety and anger built up but that should be dealt with professionally and not emotionally.

Great cooking classes. The instructor is engaging and passionate about food while teaching you a variety of techniques and dishes. I would highly recommend.

Such a great place to take some lessons every single dish we made was scrumptious:)

We had received a cooking class as a gift for Christmas 2019. Obviously COVID happened. So April 2021 we decided to book a virtual cooking class. We didn’t quite know what to expect it be virtual. It was a very fun experience, learned some neat new skills and the food was delicious. It felt pretty natural and it was easy to interact. They even gave us two very good wines to pair with dinner because the cost of an in person class is more expensive than online. They certainly didn’t need to do that ! I highly recommend the virtual cooking class, yes it’s not quite the same but what is these days!

On January 16, 2021, my husband and I did the Stocks and Sauces class on-line from our own kitchen. At first, we were looking for an in class experience but the chef Thierry did a fabulous job to prepare the learning experience. We picked up on Friday all the ingredients needed, all nicely labelled, for the different sauces and stocks. We have learned so much more than expected about techniques and, of course enjoyed tasting the delicious dishes that we have prepared. A fantastic class! If you like to cook and have the desire to learn about it, I highly recommend Cuisine et Château! Also the Chef has a good sens of humour!

Amazing place to learn. I took the cooking 101 class and I have learned skills I will take with me for the rest of my life. I have already seen elevation in my dishes. 10/10 would recommend.

The most fun and educational cooking class I've been too. Chef Thierry and chef Rafael are skilled and knowledgeable - and funny! A great way to spend an evening learning about cooking fundamentals and traditions, solo or with a friend. Learned to make the best-tasting salmon I've ever had. Looking forward to my next class. Highly recommend. Thanks Cuisine et Château!

Really great place. I got a lot of hands on experience. Having an odd amount of people I got a little more than everyone else. The chefs are super helpful and I had a great experience. Was totally worth it I am looking forward to booking another class here. Would recommend!

Revised Review: November 2018 After our previous experience our party was contacted directly by the owner, Thierry and was offered the opportunity to go back and try a different class. This experience was much better than our previous one and in line with the positive reviews at this venue. We did the 'Indochine' class. Chef Jeff had many helpful techniques and tips to share, and with his 30+ years of working as a chef in Asia, he was well suited to teach this class. The ingredients were fresh and plentiful, and the curried chicken amok was delicious. We understand that Jeff and his son are opening a new restaurant at the Avenida Food Hall next week and we wish him all the best with this! Original Review: September 2018 For $120 per person, after 2 hours of waiting we had 3 small crackers (with dip) for an "appetizer". The main consisted of some gnocchi that we didn't even make along with a few scant vegetables (not all stations even received zucchini and peppers). We were so hungry afterwards that we went and purchased more food. On top of the lack of things to eat, we did not learn any insights into Italian cuisine. I suggest anyone interested in a cooking class try one at the SAIT culinary campus or the Cookbook Co. This place has a great location and has so much potential, but as it exists now I would not recommend it. The only highlight of the evening was the company we were with.

Lisa Ma

Excellent cooking classes, very interactive and entertaining. The format of a class is to receive instructions on how to cook the dish, go to your station and make it then eat it. Repeat for each course in the menu. They serve wine with the food but the pairings and the amounts could be improved.

We expected a better experience for the price. Not as much cooking as you would think for a hands on course and it seemed a little unorganized. Wish it was much more hands on and fulfilling. The food tasted great and we learned a few cool tips however.

My friend had an awful experience dealing with you. She was in close contact with a positive COVID case. She contacted you as soon as she found out. As for the forementioned alternatives, it was either let someone else go or they lose all that money. These culinary experiences are not cheap, you cannot expect that someone can just cover these costs and go instead of them. It was a special occasion for them. Instead, she had to generously gift her seats to a friend. They tried to offer alternatives such as rebooking or paying for just the materials. You did not allow these alternatives. Then during your "great customer service," you told my friend that if you allow for those suggested alternatives, she would put the company under.

I would highly recommend partaking in one of the courses offered, especially by Thierry. I had the opportunity to take the Cooking 101 series and it was always enjoyable, full of culinary pearls, laughter and delicious food paired with wine.

A wonderful experience at our Indian cooking class on January 8th! The entire crew here clearly cares about creating a welcoming atmosphere and an environment where you feel comfortable to explore and learn. Thierry dropped all kinds of valuable tips as he demoed the main dish, and his explanations were clear and useful. I loved the opportunity to try my hand at a variety of dishes, and the end product—delicious! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking for a fun night out, a couple's evening, or a way of expanding your skill set.

What a great experience, I cannot recommend Cuisine et Chateau enough if you enjoy food, cooking, and wine! Thierry is an extremely talented, charismatic chef and teacher, thank you for an amazing evening sir. My girlfriend and I had a great time, learned a lot, and will most definitely be back. We took the "Simple Italian" course and 10/10 would recommend! Merci!

Joel Klettke

My family and I recently did the sushi class and had a fantastic time. The chef is from Japan and was able to provide a lot of extra detail on Japanese cuisine which was incredible. We will be back.

Craig Frenette

Exceptional experience, you will not be disappointed! You will want to come back again and again! Amazing culinary experience!

Natalia Ng

The atmosphere is lovely and clean, the staff is wonderful and very welcoming. Theirry and Marnie do a great job, and are really considerate for their clients. I took veggie power because I’m a vegetarian and got to learn some awesome recipes! Definitely recommend if your wanting to plan a date with friends or even just wanting to try something new:)

Chef de Cuisine Thierry is an absolute pleasure to learn from and to share time with . My Wife and i attended a Brunch course this past Sunday and could not have expected it to be any better than it was . We will be back , and we recommend Cuisine et Chateau without reservation to anyone that loves to cook ,and wants a fun and unique way to learn with your Spouse. Top Notch experience!!

We were quite excited for our Italian cuisine course - unfortunately our experience did not meet expectations. There was very little hands on cooking. Overall the teaching was fairly disorganized. Our instructor often did not know the name of the appropriate utensils to be used, often telling us to “use that thing ...”. We walked away with limited, if any, learned knowledge of Italian cooking. We however went with good friends, and a wonderful time was had nonetheless :)

Jenna Ing

I have attended in-person classes, and very recently (because of COVID) tried out an online class! So fun! I highly recommend this as a safe, fun, in-home "date night out"! Thanks to Marnie and Chef!

Patrick Nyberg

This place is phenomenal with a lively passionate authentic French chef and delicious food produced. I take a group of students every year and it is the highlight of their French learning! Highly recommended!!

Jeremy Roberts

We had a lot of fun doing the 'Table for Two' evening. Thierry was very knowledgeable and also funny. Learnt some great tips from the night and the food was delicious. Can't wait to try another class there!

Stacy Yates

I’ve taken three baking classes here. All of them were taught by the great Marnie Fudge. Love that there’s a lot of hands on and interaction with the instructor. You’ll learn a lot of techniques and take home wonderful recipes.

Katie Elizabeth

It was a great experience but there was a touch left to be desired. I would recommend to anyone wanting to learn and eat! :-)

Oliver Light

Top quality instruction. Humorous insightful . Hands on Cooking lessons made fun. Great class size. Small. Excellent selection of wines. He right amount of education with some training thrown in. Highly recommend these classes. Parking is a little tight in Kensington.

Angela Theissen

We took the “Fish tail” cooking class and it was outstanding! The chefs were very informative and engaging. We loved the atmosphere and the learning experience. We had a very enjoyable evening out. We will definitely be going back for another class.

Sophia Gill

Super disappointed. Blue Flame is better. I was gifted the class and tried to book but was re scheduled. When finally able to have the class they did not return my phone call with questions and when I arrived the teacher was stressed and not organized. She was very unkind and did not make me feel comfortable to ask questions. The class felt rushed and I could tell other people felt the same. I left with only a few things and didn't learn much I couldn't have read from a cook book. For this amount of money this is not good value. Staff should also be trained on better covid and kitchen safety as well. The teacher took off her mask over the food and was even eating during the class without washing her hands. awful experience, do not recommend.
