It was hot in Toronto this year! I purchased a ceiling fan to break the heat a bit, and had a grand vision of installing that beast myself. Thankfully I abandoned that ludicrous plan and found Transfer Electric. Nelson answered my call right away and was available to complete my ceiling fan job within 48hrs. He was excellent in communicating his arrival time, was a joy to chat with while he worked. Loving the new ceiling fan and super happy to have found my go-to electrician!

I had Nelson come to my house to install a dimmer switch in my baby's bedroom. When he left, the outlets in the bedroom now only worked when the light was turned on. Also, the adjacent bedroom lighting and outlets were now dependent on the dimmer in the baby's room being on. Additionally, the dimmer made a buzzing noise whenever lights in the adjacent room were turned on. Nelson refused to come back to fix his work, and basically told me 'I told you Costco dimmers were bad' (paraphrased). The head office/main number for Transfer is almost always unanswered, and you are redirected to a full voicemail. Once I was finally able to speak to someone, I was told Nelson would contact me to return and fix the work, but he never did. I ended up having a real electrician from another service come and fix the issue. It was also shown to me that the buzzing coming from the dimmer was from wiring in the switch box that had it's insulation damaged/open, and was actually a legit fire hazard. For customer service reasons and for outright safety concerns/fire hazards, please consider going elsewhere for your electrician needs.

The jobs are always completed on time, inspections are always passed, and they have also done service work and panel upgrades at my rental properties. I highly recommend Transfer Electric to anyone in need of professional electric services. First off after calling a dozen electricians Nelson was one of the few to actually respond and the only one who was professional and understood the issue. The day of service he showed up on time and had sourced the correct part - a booster fan for the dryer. At this point he could have installed it and charged me full price and I would have been happy. However, after inspecting the vent panel he determined that the fan didn't need replacing. he could have easily replaced it and walked away with a free part but instead he took the fan and capacitor to his shop and was able to determine the fan worked and the capacitor needed replacing. He then went and found the necessary part, came back and replaced it saving me hundreds of dollars. In short, Nelson was knowledgeable and honest. Everything you could ask for in a professional.

We got a knob and tube removal and new wiring put in at our house, which was built just over 85 years ago. We had been putting it off for a while because of the difficulty involved. Nelson was recommended to us by a friend, and he obviously is very passionate about his job. Knob and tube removal isn't an easy job and there's a lot of potential holes and damage involved, but Nelson kept things under control, and at the end of the job he patched up holes very well. I"m very satisfied with the end result, and I'm happy to be in compliance with the electrical code once again
