I am giving this company a 2 star because they did work hard to try and fix the furnace issue the first and second time. We dealt with Scott and he was pleasant at first. Apparently they do not deal with York furnaces anymore so they were reluctant to stand by the warranty. They also said that the ducting work was not right and there were problems with that when it was them that did it. My husband complained and they finally did the work. A week afterwards, we had water in our crawl space and we called Scott again. He called us back and was so rude on the phone and said he was going to move on with his life and they didn't have to do anything about the warranty which is total BS. I would never use them again and would not recommend them.

from a commercial business experience, it has not been positive. I understand that it's small town Vernon family business working with big corporation, and that can cause issues because big corporations can be challenging to work with; however, I've been trying to speak with people to get Fox and Sons set up as a vendor for my company (requires completion and return of a new vendor form) and in three weeks of trying, I have gotten no response. When I call, I'm told the people I need to speak with are out of office, not available, or on vacation. And when the person needed is the owner, and he's on vacation, well then I guess I can't escalate it any further and need to find a new vendor to work with. I'll find another vendor that responds in a more timely fashion, and can get my commercial business plumbing needs met, sooner rather than later.

Fox and Sons did a good job but my initial experience with them was not great. There was way to much info and upsell. Calls from someone call a comfort specialist? Information over load and quotes that included things I did not want but after some conversation we were able to get things sorted and the work done. To their credit the furnace died two days after the initial visit late in the day and Scott stopped by and dropped some space heaters. And where able to get the parts quickly and did a good repair. Boris also found an issue with venting system and fixed as part of his service call. The house is warm and all is well

We contacted this company April 9 (on a Friday). Monday they had someone out to our home to provide us with a free estimate to install an AC. Justin was punctual and professional. After discussing our needs, we decided to install a new furnace and an AC. On Wednesday April 14 our new furnace and AC were installed. This company was very fast, great communication from start to finish, clean, and professional. I would highly recommend them to everyone. We are very pleased with the service we received.

We spent $36,000 and are requesting a refund of $3600 for plumbing services not rendered. This company likes to price gouge homeowners. Minimum Quote always seems to be $1100. They wanted $1100 to hook up a sink and faucet. This install was supposed to be included in the $19000 plumbing contract they had not completed but was paid in full. From experience with plumbers, this is usually done by an experienced plumber in 30 minutes to an hour max. We said No to $1100 to hook up a faucet and sink. Talk about price gouging. The guy did not even show up on time. They did not even put the vanity back how it was to start. Brandon was the plumber. Worst customers manners and very rude to just leave without putting the bathroom back to how he found it or without saying a word to anyone. We got a new AC installation and were told we needed a new furnace as well and the furnace was 20 years old. We spent close to $18,000 only to discover after the installation that the old furnace was only 6 years old and did not need to be replaced. We were going to hire them for other services but after we discovered this, we feel taken advantage of and will be looking elsewhere. Not cool. Furnaces last 15-20 years. We did not need a new furnace for them to install the AC. Makes us wonder if the AC they gave us was also over-engineered.

Liam was my technician, he was friendly and professional. Liam quickly troubleshot the issue with my air conditioner, provided me with multiple price points to rectify the issue, explained each fix in detail and promptly completed the work. Two other companies did not show up, did not return calls or emails. This technician, D'arcy, arrived immediately did all he could to find the necessary parts from local distributors, and get a price estimate. Not possible at this time today. He will call in 2 or 3 days with the answers. Gave me a great explanation as to why the louver was not operating correctly. Meanwhile, I can still use the AC for cooling, no problem.

Colby and Dustin were absolutely fantastic . They were thorough, diligent, and extremely professional. They did an amazing job on our AC install (which we were desperate for!!) in the midst of the most insane heat wave I have ever experienced here in the Okanagan. Not only was the install really well done, their clean up was impeccable. We have worked wiry several contractors in the last few years and the service work “leftovers “ often leaves something to be desired. We have high expectations, and these guys went above and beyond. I called this company because of a flyer I received in the mail. I wanted a furnace inspection. The customer service desk that I booked the appointment through was awesome. They contacted me a couple of times on the day of the spot to confirm times and then to let me know he was on his way. The text included a picture of my tech which I appreciated. There was also a training supervisor with my tech. Both guys were incredibly knowledgeable and we ended up talking a lot about solutions and educating me. I was not aware that this company also did plumbing and electrical. My house is older (1960) and I was going to call these trades independent of this furnace call but the fact that this company does it all is a game changer. Since my tech, Logan, is an electrician, he was able to do the electrical work I wanted done on the spot...,,over and above the original furnace inspection. That was great. Super satisfied so far. Would highly recommend. They also have a Service Plan that I sighed up for because it was incredible. Thanks Logan and Micheal. Good job!

I was pleasantly surprised at how fast Fox & Sons had someone out to assess our problems. We had already talked about replacing the furnace so when Chris said the old one could be fixed, but would cost $500 or $600 I made the decision to upgrade. It would take about 5 days to get the furnace & put it in, so Chris brought me 2 electric heaters. Shaun & Vern were friendly, quick & professional. They even asked for a broom & dustpan to clean up. (The plumber never did that.) Thank you Fox & Sons. May, 2018 Once again Fox & Sons has come through for me. The new service plan will certainly make my life easier. The dispatch and secretary both seemed like lovely, friendly people; however, we had scheduled an appointment for an afternoon service and cleaning. The workers were a no show. I called an hour after they were supposed to show, and I was told that dispatch would call me back. 45 minutes later I called again as no one called me back. I was told they would call me back with more information. 10 minutes later, I received a phone call telling me that the appointment was cancelled and no one would be able to come out. I took the afternoon off work for this. If I had not called, I would never have known that they were not coming. Dispatch apologized, but the best they could do was another afternoon appointment with no guarentee that the appointment would be kept. I cancelled everything, and went with another company, as I could not afford to take another afternoon off work just to potentially be cancelled again.

Only reason for not giving 5 stars was notification of when they would be here. I phoned day before appointment and left message, then again at 8:30am on day of appointment to find out what time they would be here. We had other things going on and wanted to plan our day. It was only around 10:15 they phoned and could not narrow down any tighter than “this afternoon”. Would be nice if they could give a two hour window either early in the morning or better still, the day before.

We’re a large construction company -our usual electricians couldn’t make it to Armstrong for the tight deadline on a project. We called fox and sons the day before at the end of day and explained our issues with the deadline. They were able to come out the next day and finish the electric the same day. New to Vernon, my wife checked the reviews on website and decided to call fox & sons regarding the furnace issues. They cancelled the first appointment and rescheduled it 3 weeks later. My wife confirmed twice to send the hvac specialist and fox & sons has agreed but sent a plumber who had no idea regarding furnace ... this experience was a total waste of time and money as the plumber was not able to resolve the furnace issue.

Technician was on time and did the work quickly. He was very upfront and honest about what needed to be done and gave us our options without pressuring us toward any of them. Since our furnace is quite old and needing to be replaced anyway, he was sure to let us know what dangers there could be, how best to mitigate them, and what to watch for. He had another staff member responsible for sales contact us and he was here within 30 minutes of the tech leaving. We were told likely Monday, but this was way faster, obviously! In less than 2 hours total (tech visit on), we had purchased and scheduled a furnace replacement to be done within the next week. Overall, one of the best experiences I've had with a trades related company since I've moved to the Okanagan.

We had a bad experience with Fox & Sons. We were ripped off. I was out of town on business and my wife called Fox & Sons to fix a dripping faucet. They came and fixed it and charged her $460. They didn't provide an invoice and had her pay the bill on the spot with no paperwork. I waited for an invoice to come in the mail or by email but one never did. When I called and demanded an invoice it had only one line item "repair kitchen tap with new cartridge" : $460. We have a Delta single tap that doesn't use cartridges. It uses O-Rings and the replacement kit is $12.95 on Amazon. Replacing the o-rings takes less than ten minutes. Since parts and labour were not separated out in the invoice we don't know where the enormous charge came from. Despite calling Fox and Sons multiple times, no service manager has returned our calls. We now have to deal with them through the Better Business Bureau and other government agencies which is an additional waste of time. The funny thing is it probably would have slipped by me but the plumber didn't cover the drain when he started working and lost our hot/cold symbol cap down the drain. Instead of retrieving it from the trap he just rammed a piece of garbage in the hole. It was the missing red/blue piece that got me looking into the job and therefor learning the incredible price they charged us. UPDATE: After posting this review Fox & Sons reached out to me. They wanted to know what would make me satisfied and I requested an invoice with parts and labour charges so I could understand where the charge came from. They did not give me that because they "don't charge that way" and "every situation is unique". So we entered into this strange negotiation of back and forth until we landed on a price that I thought was fair. To my surprise I received a cheque in the mail for the adjusted amount. I won't be using Fox & Sons again due to this experience but I have to give them credit that they did finally make it right. I added two stars for that. Thanks goodness for public reviews!

We had our furnace and air conditioner serviced today by Bronson from Fox. Fox had some issues with missing an appointment, Bronson explained that they were experiencing numerous work place illnesses in key roles. Which created problems with the last appointment. Bronson was a gentlemen communicated clearly and got Fox to honour Shara's pledge of a $50 credit (for missing the appt) which we used towards new furnace filters. Bronson was informative and even discussed the life span of the furnace and water heater. More than happy......good job Bronson!

Well not really sure how to rate this company. On Tuesday the 11 we had our furnace serviced and cleaned and told that it was in excellent condition and all ready to go. Wednesday evening when we needed it the furnace didn't work. Called Thursday morning was told that they were coming out that day. After waiting as long as we could e called and scheduled it for Friday morning. Still no one showed. Then was told after numerous calls back to the company that someone would be out Saturday morning at 10 . Well it's now 12 and I haven't heard from them. Another wasted day waiting for fox and Son's. Hopefully some day soon this issue will resolved.

The guys arrived on time and were super professional. I let them in and showed them around as I had to leave for work while they did the furnace and AC install. They explained the process of what would be done and answered my questions, we also took care of the paperwork at this time also. Prompt and did what they said they would do including cleanup and getting rid of old parts. One problem was the pilot light on my hot water heater was not reignited after a new furnace installation. One call and 20 minutes later a tech was here and hot water was running again. He also checked the other work that had been done and ran over the operation and maintenance details again. Had my furnace inspected they stated that my heat exchanger was a danger to my family. Was ask to keep it off. I have another company coming in to install new furnace today when it was removed there were zero holes in my heat exchanger. Don't Waste your 90.00 on a service call for bad advice. I should get a refund of that money. When Fox gave me a quote they had a no name brand furnace their quote was 1500 over local reputability company. Look past their fancy logos and Ipads.

They were able to get to my house within 2 hours of me calling. They tell you on the phone there is a $79 service fee (deducted from repair cost if you go ahead with it), but don't tell you on the phone it is FLAT FEE pricing. They quoted $470 plus tax to swap out a kitchen faucet. This is a 1 hour job for a professional plumber. I would not recommend using this company. Upon looking more closely, I also find it a bit weird all of their reviews on Google are from users with 1 or 2 reviews, none of which mention flat rate pricing.

Could not be happier with their service!! Firstly, we had Justin come to quote us on some options to replace our hot water tank within 2 days of calling in. He was awesome - explained all of the options and details to us, helped us with financing and picking the right option for us with a 3 week old baby. Justin also arranged for the service guys to check our furnace for us when doing the job, which otherwise would have been scheduled for November if we booked separately. The service was booked for 2 days after Justin was here, we couldn't believe how quick and streamline the process truly was. Paul & Steve worked tirelessly at our home today putting in the new system and explaining it to us. When they came into an issue with our gas regulator Fred joined the guys at our house (after already going home for the day) and Steve drove to get a new one for us and they all fixed it, staying later than expected. They were all so friendly, courteous, and didn't mind explaining anything to us. This was a great experience, and we will use them again for AC and for servicing in the future for sure, as well as recommending the company to neighbours. Thanks guys, you were all great!

Service tech was nick. Very friendly and very good service. Work was done well. Problem is their price gave no breakdown of labour and materials. They just charged for the "job". They charged about 50% more than anyone else. They installed a check valve, relief valve and about 10ft of PVC pipe. 2.5 hours of time and charged over $900. I reccomend getting some alternative quotes before going with them.

We had Fox & Sons do the installation of some retro-fit air ducting and an air conditioner unit in January of 2019. They also did installation of a substantial amount of new plumbing in the same month, replacing an old cast iron stack and plumbing throughout the house. They provided three estimates for each job, outlining what the options were. They were responsive to phone calls with additional questions. When we made the decision as to how to proceed they attended the job promptly, and did the work in a professional manner in a timely way. Their price for each job was a fair one. I'd definitely use them again, and recommend them without reservation. A job very well done. In the spring of 2019 we had them back to attend to another matter pertaining to the furnace. They were again very attentive, addressed the job promptly and with professionalism, and did very good work. Top quality service, very good communication, excellent work. This is a top quality team. My furnace was unable to get the temperature above 16 degrees Celsius. Fox & Sons showed up in a matter of minutes, and got right to work diagnosing the problem! I just thought I would update this post. Despite the fact that the problem was diagnosed quickly, on a Friday afternoon, the cost of the repairs quoted were insane. He also assured me it was okay for me to wait over the weekend heating my house with two fireplaces. He quoted me $740 to replace the furnace fan motor, but that was a "band-aid repair" At the end of the day the tech actually wanted to replace the furnace to the tune of $9,000. On Saturday I decided I'd had enough of heating my house with the fireplaces, and had Ace Mechanical Plumbing and Heating come out to give me a second opinion. Alvin got the furnace working until after the holiday, then came back and ended up replacing the fan motor for $530.

They came initially to inspect (inspection guy was great and wore a mask) very professional and sold my father a duct cleaning half price and then salesman came next day (Professional and wore mask) sold him on a new thermostat and high efficiency furnace AND duct cleaning saying ‘Yes we have a crew that will come out and do duct cleaning same time with the install when you buy a furnace ’ the understanding was it would be hard on a furnace to contend with dirty ducts. Rob said tomorrow it would be installed 830 am so we prepared but they did not show up. So we called the office asking why are they not here? She says oh they are coming tomorrow now(no notice to us) so when they show to install, the installer knows nothing of the duct cleaning, so they are not doing that! I am not impressed with their ability to schedule, communicate or get the offer straight. I really wanted to like this company but somewhere someone dropped the ball ...the installers were friendly and answered questions. Granted not their fault the office or sales guy didn’t tell them the plan for ducts! Now dad gets an expensive new powerful furnace to blast through filthy ducts.

Scott came the same day we called even though we live outside of town. It was our first time using this company and we definitely will be using them for every other issue in the future. He was thorough, honest, and explained everything as he inspected our furnace. Our furnace is older and was on its last legs and Scott gave us multiple options to fix it as well as to replace. Even though it was late at night and well past their work hours, Scott was able to get us a quote, set us up for financing and schedule us for a full replacement before leaving the house. He got us a great deal on a furnace and also gave us information on how to do some minor repairs on our own to save money. Our furnace will be fully installed in just a few days, no long waits, and will have a 10+ year warranty. Tom took off my Electrical panel and suggested I get a surge protector. Said box was in very good condition. We both noticed construction dust in the electrical circuit breaker box but did not take the time to plow it out. Replaced the electrical panel . He than wrote on his report circuit box requires cleaning. Why not just ask the customer if they would like it cleaned now and how much? Now I would have to book an appointment again and wait 2-4 hours for an electrician to arrive and plow out the dust. I do not like standard pricing and I would rather pay by the hour. My AC unit was almost 20 years old and it was time for a new one I read the reviews and thought I would reach out to Fox. They recommended what I should have installed for an AC unit, so I went with that. After some use I discovered that the AC unit was not sufficient enough to cool my house down! After several complaints someone finally came to the house to look at it and said someone would get ahold of me in the next week and of course no one did. After playing cat Mouse I finally gave up. So I sit here with my AC that is set to 23 degrees and it's 28 in my house and it has been running all day! Don't trust their judgment or you'll be sitting in your house sweating like me! My twenty-year-old AC was doing just as good as job as the new one!

Like many other individuals I had a very simple job for them to perform. I had installed a mini-split heat pump at my soon to be retired Mum's house and the only thing that was needed were the refrigerant lines connected, a 15 minute job, nitrogen pressure test, and a vacuum pull. Here is the important part, I facilitate bulk purchases of heat pumps down on Vancouver island. The job should be at max a $400 job taking no more than 2 hours. For some reason two employees were there for a total of 6 billable hours. There is no reason for having two individuals there, because there is no heavy lifting of any equipment, and plus everything was already installed up until the refrigerant connection part. In the end they added parts that were not needed and we're not asked to be added, but my mom did not know the difference. Finally the bill came to $1,000. I don't say this lightly but this is unacceptable and borderline criminal for how much they charged on such a simple job. I did this so my mom could have affordable heating instead of the heavy work of wood heat, and occasional cooling. I understand the company needs to make money and I understand they don't live right where my mom lives so maybe the cost could have been $600, but that still makes a big difference between what I think it should be and what they charged. Best of luck to you this reader in choosing a company, and I hope you get affordable pricing and top quality service, without being taken advantage of. Edit: Responding to the message below. I did call last year after the unit was hooked up. The clarification of the charges didn't line up for the 6 hours of bill time and $1000 bill. Companies that install their own units usually charge $1000 for the full install and take 3 hours with two people to install a mini-split unit. I know this because I have installed around 40 units myself (but working with a refrigerant mechanic at the same time to do the refrigerant part) and know the time it takes, and worked with other installers and know their schedules for number of installs per day. This is what was very concerning to me and I even offered that unknowns on my side would lead to $600 for the bill, but again not $1000. It is honorable you responded but you are attempting to try mitigate a situation and negative review. I am sure you do good work, but in this case my mother was taken advantage of.

Fox & Sons came to check-in our gas hot water tank which stopped working last night. They just asked a bunch of questions and didn't even try lighting it up properly. Instead, they just gave us a bunch of overly-priced quotes for a brand new tank and installation. Luckily, a friend recommended Coldstream Mechanical who came in at 7:30 pm to check-in on us just to make sure we would have hot water at least for tomorrow. He worked for a while on getting the pilot lit up and made sure we had hot water. David (boy did we get lucky with this recommendation!) didn't charge us a dime for lighting it up and recommended that we get a new heater installed since ours isn't very reliable anymore. We really appreciate him coming in way past work hours to make sure we get through the night and the next few days comfortably while he arranges for a new tank and installation for us. Needless to say - he won our business and our hearts!

We had a sewer gas problem in our home that was proving elusive, and after being told that nobody local could do a smoke test, but Fox could, we arranged to have them come out. They cancelled their appointment yesterday, supposedly because of "local emergencies" and re-scheduled for today. Earlier today (Dec 2020) the plumber called to say he'd be calling when he departed and would bring all the equipment needed for a smoke test just in case it was needed. About 1 hour later, the office called to say "we don't deal with sewer gas problems...we don't do smoke tests" and told us they would not be coming. Unbelievable...and incredibly unprofessional. They are now permanently blacklisted in my books. I wish I could give ZERO stars.

Where do I start? Originally, I called to get help with finding a water leak. After being 3 hours late, the Technician admitted that they don't have the equipment to do a water line inspection, only sewer line. Since he made the trip (45 minutes from Vernon), I went ahead with allowing him to do a home plumbing assessment. On the plus side, the Technician was courteous and polite. Again, since he made the trip out, I agreed to having some of the work quoted for the hot water tank, completed. After signing off on the quote, I found out that it was too late in the day and the office would arrange another time for him to come out. The time was arranged but another Technician came out to do the work. That means any rapport or understanding I had about the work with the previous Technician was now lost. My mistake was to listen to what the previous Technician was telling me would be done, rather than going through the quote with a fine-tooth comb. I heard that 3 valves would be installed, ‘like for like’ as that’s what I currently had. However, I ended up with only 2 valves. Also, during the original work another issue appeared which turned $450 into $650. Two phone calls to the office the day after to discuss my understanding of the quote and work, came with a promise of a call from the Service Manager. Still waiting Mr. Service Manager… Lastly, I have had to since replace my kitchen faucet head. Who thinks it is a good idea to flush your water system through your kitchen faucet after your hot water tank has been drained? Long story short, I still have a leak, overpaid for an hours' worth of work and had to go out and buy a new Krauss pull-out faucet head to fix something that was never broken. I would recommend going with a company that doesn’t have to charge so much to keep their marketing machine moving. The texts, emails, thank you cards, and vans are nice but who do you think is paying for them?

I am very disappointed with this company. They keep soliciting me for more business, but won't even answer an email from me. I had a new high furnace put in, and even though I expressed that I would, in the future be interested in air conditioning, they didn't even put in a box for it, which would have been much easier, and less costly at the time. Be prepared to be constantly pushed to refer them. I wouldn't refer them to anyone.

Due to market forces, options were somewhat limited so I believe the decision was somewhat more challenging than normal. Where do I begin? Abysmal customer service and client care. We had a sewer pipe clog in our house and had appointment schedule end of day on a Friday. We were assured by the service representative that work would start immediately after inspection/assessment. The plumber arrived and diagnosed this issue after 5-10 minutes. Great! But proceeded to try and find other things to upsell us on for the next 45 minutes, including a toilet valve for an en-suite toilet for an extra $300 (!!!). Plus checked our water pressure valve in multiple spots which took 10 minutes of time. These issues had no relation to our clogged sewer pipe. But were probably issues they typically find often to boost sales. He spent another 15 minutes in his van writing up a cost breakdown and then came in but told us he had a doctors appointment at 6 so he couldn't do the work. He told us dispatch would contact us immediately after to schedule another plumber and could possibly even come out that night. Since we had no running water in a house of small children, we needed this issue resolved. No calls came from dispatch and we left multiple messages and emails to please help us out. Nothing. After receiving no response or communication of any kind we decided to book Roto-Rooter. After arrival they had the issue resolved in an hour, half the cost (Great service, highly recommend them!). Fully augered and scoped with a camera as well. The real kicker.. Over a month later we received a bill from Fox and Sons for work never completed! After several attempts to contact them via phone, email and messaging service on the website they finally responded. We were told obviously we didn't owe anything since no work was done. Great! Two weeks later another bill arrives for the same work. Contact again and assured again we didn't owe anything. Another two weeks and another invoice, this time with a warning that we will be sent to collections for not paying (???). Attempted to contact the office, owner and service rep with no response of any kind back. Ended up taking time out of our day to go to the office and told again we owe nothing and accounting is behind (???). I guess we just wait for the next false invoice? After spending roughly $5,000 with this company in the last few years our family will be looking elsewhere for any HVAC or plumbing service.

If money doesn’t matter at all to you - then I’m sure Fox and Sons are decent to go with. I had to pay $79 for a quote to install the electrical for a new hot tub. I was quoted over $2000.00. When I started asking around and calling other places what they thought of that quote, they ALL told me they could do it for half that price, or possibly less. I had another company come out to give me a quote (for free, this time) and they in fact provided the service for less than half the quote I received from Fox and Sons. I am very resentful that I had to pay for the estimate from Fox and Sons - if I had known how exorbitantly expensive they were going to be in the end, I never would have had them provide me with an estimate at all. My advice to all - CALL AROUND - get quotes / estimates from companies that will provide them for FREE. Then, make your decision from there.

I have a furnace/ac unit outside. Furnace was acting up and not firing up all. Fox told me it was short circuiting and didn’t even check to see what the problem was. The unit is 25 years old and he told me it would potentially be costly to fix I should strongly consider getting a new unit. Went the weekend with space heaters. Monday morning I had a different company come to quote on new unit. That fellow fixed my furnace in less than an hour, no parts required. Extremely disappointed with Fox for trying to sell instead of trying to fix. Would not recommend this company. Was charged for a service call for nothing.

Hired them to check our furnace and when the tech came he told us and showed us pictures of a cracked heat exchanger and told us we needed a new furnace. We got an outrageous quote from them and quickly went to other places in kamloops and got much more reasonable pricing causing an extremely stressful week and having to leave work early to get other quotes from companies. One company came in and had heard Fox and Sons had used the cracked heat exchanger ploy before and decided to check it for us. Took pictures of our heat exchanger and there is absolutely no cracks and he said its in great working condition and we wouldn't need one unless we wanted an upgrade. So I'm not sure what their ploy is but do not trust their techs absolutely get a 2nd opinion especially at the price point they offer. They refunded our inspection rate but that does little to help the stress and lost work from a week of trying to work and save money for a huge unexpected cost.

We booked our appointment on July 30,202. We decided to go with the fox and sons because of word of mouth and they were the earliest to come to the house. On August 6, 2020 we received a call informing that our time is scheduled for 8:00am-12:00pm and we will get a half hour call by the driver before they show up. Great service so far. Except due to an emergency they won’t be able to make it. So we were rescheduled for the next day except no one came. Their dispatch person gave us a $50.00 credit towards the next date. So we scheduled for August 11, 2020. I received a call at 10:00 am to be informed I will get a call from the driver from 11:00am-2:00pm. And guess what, no one came. If they can’t call you back guess how slow they will be to fix or service the unit. This is the worst company, I wouldn’t recommend this team to no one. The one star is for the person that calls you to inform you your time and the one that makes the appointment with you. The rest is the worst service.

Our AC quit just at the end to the record setting heat wave. I phone Fox and they sent two people to repair it for us. They diagnosed the problem as a failed capacitor and said it would have to be ordered with an unknown ETA. As they were preparing to leave, Brandon said "just so you don't have sticker shock the capacitor will be $300". I went online and although I couldn't find a capacitor in Canada the identical one was listed at North America HVAC for $24.95 US (converts to 31.25 CAN $). I have spoken to two neighbours today who have dealt with Fox in the past and won't again in future because they felt gouged on the price. Fox taking advantage to people who are in a tough situation and I will tell anyone who will listen that I feel their business practices are unethical!

Darcy was fast and very professional, and he took the time to get a second opinion from a manager, to make sure everything would be done properly with no surprises. The diffuser vent he added in my daughters room works perfectly, and so does the programmable thermostat!! This would be a four star review, but he mounted the thermostat on the wall a little bit crooked, to my eyes anyways. But since it is between two bookshelves in the living room, nobody’s going to notice it. The price was on the very top end of fair, to install a programmable thermostat ( which I supplied) and add a vent was over $500. But they did what I asked, so lesson learned. I will definitely get other quotes next time.

Chris was knowledgeable and punctual. The service was fine, but the 'fixed price' arrangement is priced ridiculously. I wanted them to be my primary plumber but they over-charge such extreme amounts unfortunately I'll have to look elsewhere. I received quotes for simple things like replacing a sink faucet at $500 in labour $750 w/ the faucet, and a tub faucet maintenance at $300, just ridiculous. You're better off finding a contractor that charges normally with parts/labour, you're going to be better off the majority of the time. A days work from these guys costs about 3x the competition.

The first technician could not diagnose the problem with my fireplace and promised to have another more experienced technician visit me. After waiting more than a week without any contact, I called their office and with a few days a second technician dropped by. He also could not diagnose the problem but advised me to purchase a part online. After installing the new part which cost me $111.73 my fireplace still not work. I was advised to purchase another more expensive part online. I decided to contact Applewood and they promptly sent their technician who was able to repair my fireplace for a fee of $124.00 without having to order unnecessary parts . The owner of Fox and Sons promised to reimburse me for my cost of the part I ordered. I guess the cheque is still in the mail. If only their technicians were as competent and trained to service appliances as well as their ability to upsell me for unnecessary services. Word of advise - get another quote from another local service company. It saved me time and money.

The techs were very knowledgeable and had my furnace fixed and running much faster than I expected Five star service promised, five star service delivered ! Thank you Reece and co. *Revised review: It has been two months since Fox and Sons had supposedly fixed our furnace to the tune of $800.00. For the past two weeks the same issues have returned. In the meantime we had them come out to quote on repairing a leaking water service in our front yard. A $70 call out fee applied. The tech they sent out had no idea how to approach the fix for it, even after we clarified with their office this scope of work was within their abilities. The tech then went in our house and started diagnosing other things he wasn’t there for. He informed my wife our PRV was failing and needed to be replaced. Again, this was not related to anything he was there to quote on. He told my wife he would get a quote to replace the PRV and his office would be in touch about the water line out front. The quote he gave my wife for the PRV work was $635.00. This is an astronomical amount for a $70 part and 15 minutes of work. Which I did. We never received a quote for the water line work... They are now telling us they will be charging a call out fee to come see why the furnace isn’t working again. This is unacceptable and disgusting. After asking around we discovered we aren’t the only ones getting outrageous quotes and sub par service from Fox and Sons. How many unaware customers or the elderly have they ripped off? Furthest thing from five star service. Feel free to call me Ted.

Called them and booked an appointment a week in advance. Mentioned that I would be working that day and lived 40kms away from my house and to give me notice well before they would arrive. Which they did. The office called me in the morning to confirm my appointment. I got a text saying a tech was on his way. So I left work, I missed his call due to driving and poor cell service in my area. I called the tech (Norm) back and he was very courteous and said he would arrive in roughly 40 minutes. Norm called me back about 20 minutes later and left a voicemail saying he would not be able to make it as he had an emergency call to attend. First time service call. Supposed technician was hi pressure to add a $1500 elecronic filter with UV system. Kept asking me about 6 times, my answer was NO,NO 6 times. A few days later this person was talking my neighbour into this system for half the price. I bought in. Year later requested a service and to change the filter. The person they sent was early 20's. I asked for her to vacuum out the filter area, she ran the vaccum but didn't clean it. After 3 months I changed out the filter and found out that the filter was installed wrong. Making this expensive system inoperable. This tells me that the people this company is doing there service work are not trained and have no mechanical skills. They had earlier talked me into a monthly service/monthly charge contract. After this incompetent experience I stopped payment on my Mastercard and told them they would never see me as a customer again. Not realising this expensive upgrade was an exclusive product that was only sold in Vernon by them. I bypast Fox and went to the manufacturer to supply me with the filter's and a UV bulb. I will have a different competent heating company service my system. P.S. These people make up there own reviews and put customers names on them. They did this to me. I have never left a review on this business as they claim I gave a 5 star review 2 years ago. Below Fox claims this review I didn't make. This company is SLIMMY!!!!

I am so truly thankful for this company. We noticed our hot water tank decided to kick it yesterday. I called Fox this morning and they had a technician out here this evening. A few quick phone calls (including one to make sure it was OK that the tech would be a little later in the day) and within a few hours someone was here and the new tank was installed in no time. Devon was professional, knowledgeable and used his time here very well. He even went the extra mile and filled the gaps where the pipes go into the abyss with steel wool (lots of vermin out here in the boons). This has been my second time having an installation done with Fox and it certainly won't be my last time (although my fingers are crossed that I won't NEED anything done in the near future) Thank you Fox team, and thank you Devon!

The technician sent to my house was an anti vaxer . The general manager explained to me that he could not guarantee that the technician they send would necessarily share my OPINIONS I’ve noticed a recent review that claimed they were having staffing problems due to illness. As we are speaking I notice technicians having lunch together in a small lunch room with no masks. I would point out how dangerous it might be to mix with non vaccinated people in a small lunch room but apparently this would only be an opinion. Almost 2 years and the fourth wave and general manager is kindly explaining the difference between an anti vaxxer and a person who simply chooses to not be vaccinated. They were back ordered for a length of time but whenever I inquired I was answered promptly and assured it was being looked after. Our furnace stopped working late last winter. Called a Fox service technician in to determine what was wrong. We were told that the furnace was unsafe to use and that we needed a replacement furnace (estimated cost $6k). We got a second opinion and we're told by replacing two minor parts, at a fraction of the cost, that the furnace would operate. We did that and the furnace is operating perfectly now. Multiple tests were also performed ensuring us that indeed, the furnace is safe to operate.

I contacted Fox Plumbing to look at my air conditioning unit, which was not working. A technician came on June 29th. He was unable to take the cover off the unit, and thus could not see inside. However, he declared that the fault was the compressor and that since the unit was old, it would not be feasible to repair it. I was charged $114.35 for the service. Subsequently I obtained a quote from Fox for a new air conditioner, at a price of $7,444.50. On the advice of a knowledgeable friend we removed the cover of the unit, which the Fox technician was unable to do, and called another service company for a second opinion. Fortunately the technician was quite quickly able to ascertain that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the unit and that the fault was due to incorrect wiring by the company that installed a new furnace in October 2020. He corrected the problem and the air conditioner has been working perfectly ever since. If we had followed the advice of the Fox company we would now be faced with a bill for at least $7,444.50 for no good reason. I really feel that the general public would be served by being made aware of Fox's apparent push to sell their products at any cost rather than serving their customers ethically. If required I would be happy to provide the name of the service company who found the fault, and the one who installed the new furnace that was incorrectly wired and caused all the problems.

Service Tech was professional and informative. I did have issues with the communication with the office however. Not able to contact a person through the phone number online. I called 4 times, no answering machine came on and it was the end of the day before I got a person to actually talk to and then too late to arrange for an installation appointment, although I was under the impression we were already on the list for Thursday. I was told they had called and left a message but this was not the case, I was home all day. They may have been calling the wrong number...I dont know. Someone called back after diner and left a message which I returned the next morning and when they called back the next morning I was told I did not return their call...which I did. So I had to suspect they didnt check their messages. They did come Friday on the agreed time. The Tech was fast and I felt he did his job well.

I had an appointment to receive a quote on the installation of a mini-split air conditioner. However, after three confirmations ( one email, one phone call, and one text message), they failed to arrive at the appointment time. I called reception who assured me she would contact the fellow with whom I had an appointment to find out when he was coming, and someone would contact me right away. One hour and fifteen minutes later, I called again. The phone went dead on the first call, so I repeated the procedure and it went straight to voicemail. I then used a friend's phone and managed to get through to reception, who informed me the fellow was in a meeting and would contact me when he was done. I asked why I had been given an appointment time when there had been a conflicting meeting scheduled. A fairly curt receptionist said she had no idea, and was obviously not happy about talking to me. (I was at home entertaining my two grandchildren, 3 and 7, who were waiting patiently for me to have the quote done so we could go to the beach). Finally, 45 minutes after my last call, I received a call saying he would be here within 30 minutes. When he arrived, it was a little more than 2 1/2 hours after the scheduled time, which would have been acceptable if someone had let me know what was going on!!!!! After three confirmations I expected the time to be fairly accurate!! The fellow doing the quote asked me what time I had expected him (?) and then promised to have the to me before I returned from the beach with the kids. Unfortunately, I have still not received the quote, or had any contact from anyone at Fox.The appointment was scheduled for July 15, and today is July 20th. I received a request on July 15 asking me how "Fox did" on my recent job, and so finally, today, I decided to reply. Wow! I have never had this kind of run around before, and am usually very easy to deal with, as any of the businesses who have dealt with me before will attest to. I can even understand that things sometimes go awry, and plans need to change; however, informing your 'customer' is a far better way to ensure future patronage than ignoring and sidestapping problems and keeping your customers in ignorance. We were supposed to have an electrical inspection done today, after being rescheduled from last Friday. I called Fox & Sons at 9am to find out what time a tech would be by. I was told I’d get a call back within 30mins. I called back an hour later after not hearing back and I was then told I’d get a call back within 15mins. After another hour of still not hearing back I called again and was told the dispatcher would call me back in 5mins. After two hours and no return call I called back and received voicemail twice. They then called half an hour later (1:35pm) to let us know they didn’t know if they would make it today and didn’t know when we’d be rescheduled for. So after taking a day off work to be home for them, we were left given a run around and are now finding another company to use. Horrible communication and customer service!

Let down twice. Called in September with a pooched hot water tank, not responsive. Messaged after hours request as furnace failed. Followed up with call at 08:00 when they opened. Dispatch called later in day and said would follow up at noon. Did not follow up, then I called at 1:00 and still no call back by 2:30. Called Border and was seen immediately. I will NEVER recommend FOx again. Had 1 good experience with a plumbing issue but they have been awful ever since. Do not bother - almost spent another night in the cold. Thank you Border.

Peter was very professional and was able to describe in a way I could understand the issue we were dealing with. There was some trouble shooting needed for one portion and he did not waiver from checking all sources and possibilities. Peter came for one job and then was able to supply options for a couple of things I was considering and I also had them completed while he was there. It was a great job done !!!!! I was very impressed with Shaun Yelland, field coordinator. He was busy however took the time to phone, and showed up at the appropriate time. He was prepared, and very knowledgeable as we are converting electric heat to propane. By the time he departed, he had worked out 3 quotes from state of the art, to very good, to adequate. He was very professional and took time to explain all the options and answered all my questions. I appreciate the options he pointed out to me. Fox and Sons has a valuable employee in Shaun.

Absolutely no complaints and would use / recommend. I appreciated the text message giving me a heads up that the tech was on his way, as well as the quick follow up call from the tech to confirm I had received the text. The tech, Ben, was professional and honest and was able to resolve my issue with my garage heater in the first ten minutes. I will definitely use them in the Spring when I replace my furnace.
