Absolutely fantastic service!! couldn't ask for any better. The nicest couple of people. Driving across from Halifax to BC in my UK sprinter van the alternator starting making a noise. Popped in on the off chance after trying many different shops to no luck. Found these guys late on in the evening, said they could do it next day. Took the alternator off in their car park and they repaired it while we went to Timmys just up the road. Really appreciated the help and service we received. Sorry it took so long for the review. This is the second time I have used his service. He fixed my wrangler starter and now my Cherokee. Owner is a little ruff around the edges. A big beefy guy the works on mechanical stuff. He is friendly, but most importantly does a great job. Gave me a good quote and time frame. Met both. I hope I don't need any starter or alternator fixes any time soon. But if I do, I will use his service again.

AVOID THIS PLACE: 0 stars Can’t believe the reviews on here are for the right shop. Went to purchase an alternator to bring to the mechanics to get replaced as my old alternator went. Called starter connection asking for all the information/specifications possible for the Alternator so I could be sure I was buying the right alternator for my car. The owner was very dismissive of the questions and summarized “there’s not really any information, this is just the only alternator for your car, a 110 volt hitachi” I was a bit leery at that point, but he had good reviews, the price was on the cheaper end and there are only so many places to choose from, so I went ahead and purchased the alternator and brought it to the shop to install in my car. They called back a few days later saying this is the wrong alternator pulley and that they don’t have the tool for it. So I call Don at Starter Connection and he gives me the “yeah that sucks, I feel you” Meanwhile accepting 0 responsibility for his mistake of selling the right alternator with the wrong pulley attachment. He acts like it’s nobodies fault and that he’ll fix it if I taxi the alternators back and forth across the city again. I tell him again I have no vehicle as my car is in the shop. Which again he offers hollow condolences and offers no help,apology or accepts no blame whatsoever. And went on to say “This is a common common occurrence” -so you mean to tell me you put the wrong pulley attachment on Alternators all the time?! I’ve called 3 shops and spoke to 6+ mechanics since, my car only comes with one pulley attachment. And to top it off when I went to return the part, the guy working the desk said “it’s was retarded I’m returning it” And then tried to warn that I’ll have trouble buying elsewhere as they don’t come with any pulley. Went and called Piston Ring, Part Source and a few other part stores And they all had it with the correct pulley on it. As a result of going elsewhere: I ended up saving 20$, getting 3 year warranty on the alternator instead of 1 year, and I didn’t have to deal with assh*les with poor customer service. And got my car back hours after buying from Part Source. Seems like a win in every way to me. Lesson Here: Get the extra warranty at the same or cheaper price and just buy from Part Source,Piston Ring or right from the mechanic. Better customer service either way whether you get the part from a real reputable store or the mechanic.

I wasn’t sure where to bring my starter for my old International Truck but after reading the other reviews I figured I would try Starter Connection out. Let me tell you I was not disappointed. The turn around was VERY fast. Price was VERY reasonable. They transformed my old rusty starter into an almost new looking starter. Put the starter in the truck and wow cranks faster and stronger than it ever has for the length of the time I have owned the truck. So happy with these guys and I will be using them again! Keep up the awesome work!

Shopped around Google looking for a place to rebuild my alternator for an 07 VW Rabbit that was making noise (bad bearings). Came across The Starter Connection and I’m very glad I did! Don is a great guy! He completed a full rebuild at a very good price and it was literally ready for pickup 4 hours later. I will definitely use his services again when needed. A+++ HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: A few days after getting the alternator rebuilt, I reinstalled into my car. Upon initial startup, everything was fine but after a few seconds I noticed the headlights was constantly fluctuating, 100% brightness to about 50% brightness. Along with this fluctuation you can tell the entire car (interior lights, dash, heater, etc), was also fluctuating, including the engine RPM's, which was fluctuating up and down. After about 2-3 minutes things would finally smooth out. This was only happening after the car was sitting for awhile (cold start). This fluctuation symptom was not happening prior to getting the alternator rebuilt. 4 days later, the issue was still happening so I followed up with the shop... After a few back and forth calls with Don and his assistant Kyle, a few visits to get battery and alternator tested and a few conversations where I was being convinced that this is normal... Don finally made the wrongs into rights and provided me a brand new alternator. After installing the new alternator, car has been running perfectly fine. Anyways... My intention is not to bad mouth the shop or Don or Kyle, but to provide full disclosure of my experience with this shop. I will say that both Don and Kyle seems like nice and honest guys and this was a one-off, which can happen to the best of them.
