GLT came by to change our 100 year old main shut off valve -water and the service man was extremely generous with his information. Knowledgeable, confident, professional. The city of wpg came to turn on the water and also mentioned -based on the awkwardly situated shut off valve, GLT did a really good job. Haven't needed to use it yet -thankfully but when it's time I'll feel confident using it. Thank you GLT !!!

It was a pleasure dealing with GLT from Steinback. They helped resolve a few issues that I had in my home which included my in floor heat system that had never worked properly as well as a electrical issue that turned out to be a Hydro problem. GLT is an honest and competent local furnace company and I have only commendations for them. I have been a customer for the past 6 years and they have explained step by step instructions over the phone for small heating and cooling fixes at no charge to reconfiguring ductwork for a basement renovation to an entirely new furnace install. They were prompt to investigate my furnace malfunction (within 3 hours) and explained what had gone wrong with the previous install. The final verdict was a new furnace which was installed the very next day and at a very fair price. In the meantime my home was heated with a temporary heater to prevent my pipes from freezing as this occurred in Dec/19. Everything was explained clearly to me and I believe they provide superb value for their service. I will surely use them again. Thanks GLT!

On site staff are always polite and helpful, giving repair/maintenance options with clear outlines on cost and timelines. Have used them for furnace maintenance and repair, electrical and plumbing installation. Appointment dates and times are made quickly with technicians phoning ahead to give their arrival time. Update: Needed new AC unit and great service continued. Sales staff had great communication about pricing. Everything in the transaction was quick and clearly stated. Install people were efficient and on time. It’s great to find home service people who conduct business this way!

We have been a customer of GLT for 6 plus years for all service work on our furnace and air conditioner. Our initial call to them was when our furnace quit during one of our extreme cold spells. It was in the evening and they responded promptly. We have a maintenance program where they service the furnace in the fall and air conditioner in the spring. We think the program is good value to head of more costly problems and from a safety perspective. This summer our A/C quit on us. We got a few quotes and GLT was middle to high price (still competitive). We decided to go with them as our furnace was put in by them years ago and the workmanship was top notch. Again we were not disappointed, they were able to replace the whole a/c system (old 90's unit) within a day and the work that was performed is again top notch. You get what you pay for, and we are glad we chose GLT.

After years of excellent service, GLT has let us down more than once in recent months. A replacement fan for our AC was supposedly ordered, but wasn’t, then took weeks to actually get it after being told the warehouse had it. Then the technician was late for the appointment. Not a problem, but we used to get a phone call if the technician was delayed. The extra wait was over two hours. Today, GLT did not show up for our annual furnace service that we recently booked. When we called, they said they had no appointment for us. Yet we had requested a specific technician and were advised he would be available for this day. Frustrated because GLT offered no apology and didn’t offer to make it right by booking the next available appointment, we said we’d call someone else. The response? Okay. Bye! Very disappointed. We’ve been a customer for over twelve years. ——— After the response to this review from the owner, we chose a new service company. The problem wasn’t a delay from the supplier, it was a lack of a clear answer from GLT. The story kept changing. But the icing on the cake was the dropped appointment and not a word of apology. 12 years. Bye.

My experience started with a call for a service tech to come and clean and take a look at our furnace as it was working harder than it did in the previous cold season. The first appointment ended up being cancelled once the tech arrived as they had to go to a emergency call. When the tech showed up the second time they cleaned the furnace and investigated our “problem” and diagnosed it as a bad secondary heat exchanger which is a pretty major fix. They recommended a new furnace be installed as the fix for our current furnace would be very expensive anyway and the part wouldn’t come in for at least a month. The red flags went up when he kept mentioning they could be there the next morning and have the new furnace installed very quickly. This seemed odd as my first appointments took a few days before they could get to us as they were booked up. I said I was going to get a second opinion first from another company as a new $5000 furnace install was the last thing I wanted before Christmas. He recommended I could get a second opinion from one of their other company techs which was a another red flag so I declined and got another company in that had initially installed the furnace. As soon as the second tech got there from the second company they found that our filter which was fairly new but faulty had been sucked in towards the blower which was causing the furnace to work a lot harder. As soon as the filter was pulled out and a new one installed the furnace started working normally. He ran a bunch of diagnostics on the furnace and found no faults. So glad I paid the $90 for the second tech to come in. He saved us $5000! The tech from GLT seemed friendly enough but was very insistent on selling us a new furnace. Won’t be using GLT again after this experience. Be sure to get a second opinion from another company before allowing them to replace any heating or cooling system. They seem like a replacement company, not a repair company.

I had a wall unit air conditioner installed. A hole had to be cut in the wall. There was no other company that offered this service so I was impressed with GLT from the start. Excellent and prompt communication with the office and I didn’t wait too long for my install appointment. Which was great as we were experiencing a heat wave. The installer was a bit caught off guard when he arrived for the install as it wasn’t a usual install because not many people need a hole cut in the wall! However, him and the electrician who arrived were very professional and a pleasure to work with. They got the job done! I am extremely happy with the work that was done and the unit I purchased from them. The automatic function is awesome. Very economical. I would highly recommend this company!

I was very happy with Jessica's service to my furnace. She was able to quickly diagnosis and explain my problem. She even fixed an issue I didn't know could be fixed that was caused by an improper setup from a previous company. Now my house heats up quicker thanks to her catch (an issue I wasn't calling GLT for but is a nice added bonus). As she worked, she educated me on maintenance of my furnace and how to understand whether or not my furnace needed servicing for similar issues in the future. Thought I would send a message about the duct cleaning service your company provided at my house at 62 Southfields on Aug 31. I was very disappointed with the level of cleaning that your equipment provided to my ducts. Your technician never went any further than 10 feet into my registers or fresh air vents. Using a portable vacuum system that only cleans where the hose reaches - leaving the remainder of the duct uncleaned. I was especially concerned about how much my fresh air ductwork was cleaned. Later the same day I inserted a new filter and used an air nozzle to blow comprssed air into holes in the fresh air duct (holes from previous cleaning company). There was a significant amount of debris and dust that I was able to remove from the fresh air ducts After GLT Tech had cleaned them. Makes me wonder what I paid for. This level of service and equipment is not acceptable. You can be sure that I will not be recommending your duct cleaning service to any one else. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Furnace went OUT in late March due to the fan motor failing. GLT had replaced it in 2014). GLT came out within an hour and got the fan to run until they ordered a new motor. The motor came within 24 hours and they replaced the motor the next day. Also, they replaced the out take blower about 6 months ago, and they had to replace that as well due to the faulty part that was sent. I have pretty much replace all the parts on this furnace other than the heat exchanger. I am hoping that it lasts for a few more years. Great Service.

DANGEROUSLY INCOMPETENT!!! When GLT installed a new furnace, the installer was going to throw out my doorbells’ transformer that was connected to the old furnace. I was watching and stopped him. But when he hooked up the doorbell, he wired it wrong. The front and back doorbells were so hot if you touched it for more then a second it would blister your finger. Extreme fire hazard. Thankfully we found out before my house was on fire.
