Booked an appointment for a quote with this company, they called 30 min prior saying they couldn't make it, and rescheduled several hours later then cancelled on that too. Rescheduled for another day, no show, no call. I'm not a fan of having my time wasted, and would recommend you don't waste yours with this company either. They clearly don't need the work.

Due to a recent wind storm and a befallen tree, the power lines from my house were no longer connected to the utility pole on the street. With no help from Epcor, I was on day 3 without power when I called JLE Electrical. I spoke with John early Friday morning before work and explained my situation. Being sympathetic to my circumstance, he was able to move around some of his crew to spare someone to work on my place right away. During the process, John consistently communicated the progress of the work. By the time I got home, my power had been restored thanks to the hard work from John and Darren at JLE Electrical.

JLE Electrical Ltd. charges customers to receive a quote. I recommend you save your money and get quotes from companies who don’t charge, otherwise you may feel obligated because you have already spent some money. The first quote I received from this company was 50% higher than others. The labour was hundreds per hour, an additional hundred+ for trouble shooting. When I complained, they responded there was a misunderstanding regarding the trouble shooting cost. They then sent me a second quote now 35% cheaper (expensive trouble shooting). This second quote was still 15% higher than my other quotes. To see average earning rate for an Journeyman Electrician visit the occupational informational website at the Government of Alberta - Occinfo. In the second quote JLE Electrical “claimed” per labour rate had a 113% mark up (however the amount on my quote was actually higher). The average per hour labour rate other companies quoted only had a 50% mark up. Yes, companies need to charge a mark up for overhead but as a consumer we must decide what is fair. JLE Electrical might respond that those who are quoting lower are doing things illegal. My response is my electrical project has a permit and is having an inspection from the city. Check your needs at the city of Edmonton permit page.
