There service as a warranty center for Home Depot in Peterborough is not the place you want to get your tools serviced under warranty. Once you drop your tools at Larry's Electric you are under the impression that you are covered under warranty. Then you come back to pick it up they will demand you pay for there diagnostics if you are lucky enough they might not give back your power tool in pieces in a box . There service has to be more clear about repair if not able to fix any items & not demand money for services not completed

Not a good experience, I had a failed powertool from BOSCH, the customer service person at BOSCH recommended I take it to the repair center in my area for an approved casefile to review as to whether it might qualify for some level of warranty since it was beyond 1 year and I had no receipt (Bosch CSR created a warranty casefile they were willing to support to generate a 3rd party professional opinion on the tool failure and whether it was from abuse or if the tool was in as new condition as I was asserting, which would open the file to new possibilities or file closure too, but it needed input from the service center (Larry Electric)), the tool is owned by a homeowner, does no tradeswork, the tool drilled a few holes, like 5 of 3/16" tapcon screws, 5 of half inch wedge anchors and 7 of 3/4 anchors and failed at the switch. I have another BOSCH cordless drill that probably did 18000 screws last summer, so BOSCH tools are good in my opinion. Larry Electric never had any intentions of doing any work for me or for BOSCH, they sent me away at the first visit there saying the case file paperwork specified I had to send it in by FEDEX instead of carrying it in, yeah spend another 30 dollars on this tool by sending it in with Fedex instead of walking it in at a lower cost and meeting and greeting real CSR people? Whatever that was about still baffles me. They wanted nothing to do with the request from Bosch quite clearly, there would be no vouching for me towards BOSCH to validate or authenticate that this tool failed prematurely which is what BOSCH wanted them to do, just verify that it failed prematurely, not a tough task, and whether I should or might qualify for at least the PART that failed. Larry Electric customer service person could only ask that I preauthorize 24 dollars to check it out as they said BOSCH would not pay it, they think they know this from the start as a foregone conclusion that Bosch won't respect them, and yet are quite willing to open it up with me paying for it, knowing they have no intention of completing the task to phone BOSCH and talk on the phone as the 3rd party professional middleman / arbitrator between the corporation and the tool owner to make that simple evaluation that resides at the centre of the customer service file. Larry Electric clearly had no intentions anywhere to even step up and make a customer service call to BOSCH to vouch on my behalf or render an opinion for that matter which could sink my claim too, no opinion and no evaluation or commentary to Bosch, (WHICH WAS THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF THE EXERCISE). If your tool fails don't take it to Larry Electric, I get the sense they only fix and vouch for DEWALT product, and then the lazy, arrogant and abusive customer service.... Peterborough is a small town, there are only a few sources in the area to support electrical equipment, it is unfortunate that companies can provide such misguided intentions and get lost in the weeds right away, they don't even listen for the core task in the customer service request which initiated a file being created, and then the miserable support to customers that are directed there by the customer support fulfillment call centres. The customer is the monkey in the middle at that point, either you support both ends of the food chain as the authorized and respected service centre, or get out of that space, especially if it is blowing your patience and gaskets to be there. Don't give this company your business if you have other friendlier options. Rude and unfriendly outfit, poor listening skills, there is a saying,...if there is no will, there is no way. That sums up the experience I had. At least Bosch wanted to support their product. In fairness to Larry, it may be tough to get payment from large multinational corporations for small repairs that represent argumentation points, yet don't represent small money to Larry Electric, every dollar is hard to get and hard to keep, too bad our polticians don't understand that one. They only understand the credit card with no limit and we get the bill.

Be wary of this outfit... This company has no integrity... They sold me 2 Gates belts (B33 and B34) for my lawn tractor with the agreement that I could return the unused one as I could only estimate the correct size from the broken belt... This morning, I tried to return the unused B34 belt and they refused to accept the return, claiming that a line on the back of the unused belt indicated that it had been used. I tried to argue my point to no avail... This outfit has many preferred customers from which they will always accept returns because they value the business... I show up to purchase a belt and the return is refused... What a sham... So, they kept my $23... I'm sure that they will do it again... What a Business Model -- Accept any return from preferred customers and screw the one-of customer...

My story is much too long about what happened at Larry's electric with my tools but I 1000% don't recommend anyone use the Tool repair service from Larry's Electric for fixing your items, you will wait months to get them fixed with zero updates and pay full price . Also the women has quiet the attitude when you do call looking for answers as it's been another 2 weeks with zero contact. The items in the store are very high prices compared to online prices of stores based in Ontario. I'm a very loyal person but enough is enough and supporting local sometime just doesn't matter now. Larry electric get your tool repair area in order!!! & get an online store as it's 2020 to price match your competitors.

The selection of tools will not leave you looking for more, they have almost everything. The only thing that could have made my experience better would have been a cold beer and a stool to sit and tell some jokes: Larry doesn't deserve a mark against him for that. This is the best place I have dealt with in a long time, I have a feeling it will be the best customer service experience I will have in a long time as well.
