I had the unfortunate experience of losing my power while I was baking this morning. I tried on my own to replace the fuses in my old 1959 bungalow but even then, nothing worked. So, I searched for an emergency electrician and up popped Home Town Electrical Ottawa, and thank goodness for that!!! I am very grateful for the prompt and professional care that Justin showed when he came into my home. Not only did he figure out my issue quickly, safely and professionally, he didn't mind my copious questions, and he was pleasant and courteous and explained everything so well. I give Home Town Electrical Ottawa 5 out of 5 stars for the stellar service I received. My worry was taken away and I got some excellent advice for when I need future work done. I will not hesitate to give this fine company a call when I do! Thanks again, Justin for saving my bacon today!

I rang, asked for a quote for a NEMA 14-50 outlet installation. They didn't know what that was and said they were "too busy" anyway. Literally didn't want the work. I guess they have all the customers they need so you don't need to bother calling them. ;)

When a follow-on issue arose, Justin agreed to come back, double check and inspect again. Even though unrelated to the original problem, he only charged a small fee because he said it was about the customer. Justin seemed extremely competent, thorough and was very friendly, kept us informed and explained his findings to us, and was forgiving of our cats being around (only so much you can do with a small apartment!) Was given a quote from Home Town Electrical. Once they arrived, they were unable to do simple rewiring and charged $500 for their “service” which easily could’ve been done by my husband. I called them to troubleshoot a lighting issue in my garage and they were able to come within an hour of my call to do that as well as to replace worn out switches with new ones, resolve my lighting issue in the space under my stairs by installing a new light fixture, and upgrade my panel by installing a surge protector. All the work was done quickly and efficiently and I was kept informed throughout the entire process what was being done and why. I can't say enough good things about them and I will definitely call them back for all my future lighting and electrical projects.

Called them to have a have a fuse box switched to a breaker box and the man who answered the phone completely blew me off! Told me he wasn't interested in providing the service with no explanation given. He almost seemed annoyed I had called...a little odd since the website says they specialize in home wiring and specifically mentions fuse boxes.....very rude.

Our home breaker box blew up on a cold Sunday night (of course) and the house was smelling of burning plastic. We've never had this issue before so we are completely lost at what to do. After some brief researching online we decided to call this company for assistance. Within two hours they arrived to our place and quickly diagnosed the issue - it was the worse case scenario.
