Mr Appliance North - thank you! I moved to Orillia last July. (Loving it!) my gas stove , which I always dreamed of having wasn’t in fantastic shape ... over time things need replacing I suppose. I tried over the year to find someone to come look at it, I googled how to fix myself (well that wasn’t going to happen!) Through a contact she gave me a name of someone she knew that did gas appliance . Tried and nope he doesn’t do “fixes” Sigh Plus side he gave me two contacts I called both , one because of Covid isn’t doing house visits ???? The other , asked me questions asked how I felt about someone coming in. I had to ask for early appt no problem 800 am he was happy to be here ! I aporeciated the slippers he put over his shoes (though my floors need a cleaning) he came, did a cleaning of elements and diagnosised the culprit piece. Here and left in 30 mins and left my stove cleaner than before - nice! Ordered the piece and was ready for install ... oh dear I felt bad I needed an earlier start , no problem 730am he was happy to be here . Replaced piece, another cleaning (maybe I should research a cleaning person next ??) and was out by 745!! Wow I have time to make over easy eggs on my new stove before work!! My portable dishwasher was not cleaning my dishes well and Whirlpool sent a technician from Mr. Appliance North to assess and repair the machine, which was not under warranty any longer. He spent some time fiddling with the dishwasher and eventually informed me that I needed a new part. The same technician returned a few days later to install this part. It then took me almost TWO WEEKS to get an invoice from this company for the work that was completed as I was told an invoice couldn’t be generated at the time the service was completed. Three weeks later, I was having the SAME problem... I called Whirlpool again and this company contacted me, informing me that I would have to pay AGAIN for the diagnostic visit. Whirlpool informed me that I would NOT have to pay a second time for another diagnostic visit. Consequently, I cancelled the appointment. I contacted Whirlpool a third time and they asked if I wanted the same company to return again and I said absolutely not. A different company was sent and that technician informed me that no parts were needed - it had to do with soap, cleaning cycles, etc. My dishwasher has been running PERFECTLY since that visit. It’s a matter of educating consumers - not installing parts that are not necessary simply to make money. Beware of this company - you may very well end up paying for unnecessary parts, etc. as the diagnostic process is obviously severely flawed. It’s a shame that in today’s society, companies such as this one cannot be trusted to be honest with customers.

Had Andrew P in this afternoon to diagnose my 17 year old front loader. I was pretty sure it was needing a pump. Andrew did his thing and confirmed my suspicion. I wasn't certain if investing in a repair was in my best interest considering the age of the machine, but Andrew poked around and didn't seem to think there were any overt concerns. I proceeded with the repair, and am hopeful that I'll get another few years as it has been a great machine! Thanks Andrew for your expertise!

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!! I had a Mr. Appliance technician to my home on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 to fix my dryer’s digital display. The technician had to pull out and disconnect my washer in order to access the dryer vent hose that had come away from the wall, and he had to order the part to fix the display. Unfortunately, the technician inadvertently forgot to hook the washer hoses and yes, when I used the washer later that day the water flooded out of my laundry room and into the hall. And sadly, the next day it leaked into the bedroom in my basement completely damaging the ceiling and carpet. After calling Mr. Appliance, they had the technician return to my home to hook up the machine. The next day a different technician returned to the house to fix a new burning smell that was coming from the dryer, and to take pictures of the damages in my basement. The following day he returned to fix the dryer display. I was informed by Mr. Appliance that their insurance would contact me. When I heard from their insurance today I was informed that they were not responsible for the cost of the entire repair, only a percentage. My insurance was to cover the other portion!! No reasons were given. My insurance has informed me that they’ve never heard of such silliness. Why should I pay the deductible and ruin my rating? My conversation with Jason, the owner of this Mr. Appliance location was not a good one. I’ve done what I can, not my problem stance. So make sure you’re prepared to pay for the damages incurred should you choose to call this particular franchise!!!

Called to fix a portable washer. Very nice people over the phone and booked me for a very convenient day, so that was very good. The guy showed up on time, he covered his shoes so he didn't make any mess in the apartment. Again, very professional. There was a little issue with the fixing process and they handled the situation in very professional and respectful way. I recommend the service and will use again. Washer is up and running :)

Called for a simple dishwasher repair. Instead ended up with a flooded house and a disassembled dishwasher left in my kitchen totally inoperable. No common sense, no care. Simple troubleshooting right out the window. Was told it was my problem to fix a clog in the pipe that did not exist. Still had to pay for service call and I am still cleaning up the mess. Customer service, quality and care is few and far between these days. Beware of fake and staged reviews, this experience tells me there is not too much brain power in this company.

So, I understand the it was the long weekend when I put in a service request on Saturday at 7:26am... However we are now 10:45am on the Tuesday after the long weekend (at the time of this review) and I have yet to have a response from Mr Appliance. A request message was sent via the Google search results landing page for Mr Appliance, with the expectation of an approximate 24hour response (not the actual service call) as Mr Appliance's Google profile boasts they are open 24 hour and usually responds within a few mins... Long weekend or not, this is unacceptable customer service as it's now well into their business day on the Tuesday after the long weekend and still no response for help. If Google reviews allowed screenshots of the request, I would post them. **As a business owner myself, I don't feel a one star rating for a business is a good look as this is just a single opinion; yet this is still is a public review forum. I give the benefit of the doubt for all business and will change the rating and update this comment accordingly if a response attempt is made by the above company Update: I am changing the star rating to a four today. Unfortunately with the delay in response, I ended up having to go with another company. Issues happen with technology, and I understand this. 4 stars for your reply and a public acknowledgement and apology for the delay (not often do you see this from companies), but unfortunately I can't give a five star rating as I ended up going with another company. With this said, because Jason (the business owner) personally reached out to me, I feel this was just a slight oversight and not a reflection of the business, owner, or employees and will reach out to Mr. Appliance again in the future if I ever need assistance. There's a heart to this business.

I called Mr. Appliance on Thursday Dec 16th and booked an appointment for today (Dec 22nd). They lost my appointment even told me that my gas range was safe to use even though it recently had an electrical fire and gas fire on it without having a tech look at it. Since its gas.. I cannot even buy a new on in time for Christmas.. If I could give 0 stars I would! **Edit** since I cannot reply to you here Jason. Please feel free to review BOTH phone calls I made. Call 1: booked an appoint and further asked if my cooktop was safe. The customer service rep said they would speak to a tech and call me back…. She FAILED to call me back at all Call 2: I called to confirm appointment. The customer service rep could not find it. She then apologized for it. She also tried to tell me a voicemail was left for myself, which it WASNT and when I told her there was no voice mail she realized that there was no call placed back to myself. She then put me on hold, called a tech, and the tech told her to tell me that my range was fine…!!! So Jason.. your right. “I” didn’t speak to your tech, but your customer service rep sure did and told me it was safe. So, before you comment on a legitimate review claiming false hoods.. listen to your calls because they are recorded, I do not expect an apology.. but I’ll be making my Christmas dinner on a hot plate thanks to your company

Not sure what to say here? $150 fees to come out and tell me I have to buy 2 new appliances that are 3 years old. Do I blame Samsung or Mr.Appliance? I think looking up on google if parts are available should be a free charge? The service guy was polite and on time but a leaking dishwasher seems like a pretty straight forward seal repair? A broken handle on a fridge door requires a whole new freezer unit? Wow! To add another $150 bucks to do nothing except look up parts they don’t have and tell me to replace the units seems like rubbing salt in an open wound. I called a competitor and they said they have a deal in stock and replaced it that afternoon. $125.00 got it fixed and saved me buying a new dishwasher.

**FIRST POST PLEASE READ IT ALL** My initial opinion of my experience was 5 stars, we were booked for a service call for our dishwasher quickly and professionally. The service technician (Josh) dealt with my wife, her thoughts were that he was professional, polite and knowledgeable. He was able to diagnose our issue (dishwasher making noise-not cleaning dishes) down to a failed wash pump. He'd mentioned that our dishwasher had likely come to the end of it's life, and the part alone was going to be $400, so maybe rather than replace it he suggested we get save the repair cost and just buy a new appliance, he even coached my wife on what model to look at. We were left impressed. New dishwashers are expensive, we decided to save for a new one and wash by hand for the time being... 2 months or so passed. I don't even know what prompted me to look at part pricing the other day, but I ended up finding a new replacement pump online for $98. So I decided to see if I could figure out how to change it. So I pulled the washer out and pulled the pump out... this is where is gets frustrating. My wife walks in and asks what the heck I'm doing with parts spread around the kitchen.. I explain. She says that the service technician never pulled the dishwasher out of the cupboard to do the diagnosis, he just fiddled in the bottom of it where the spray wand is. I am well trained and experienced with electrical and electronics by trade, and don't expect the average homeowner to do work like this, but INSIDE almost all appliances are diagnostic drawings (schematics) that include troubleshooting guides. I used the one inside my dishwasher and found that all the tests indicate the pump was OK. What it ended up being was a piece of petrified (gross) food waste that had jammed in the pump plumbing. Our dishwasher now works fine. Sorry for the long story, but I would say to consumers to remember to get a second opinion! We are out a few bucks for the service call, no big deal, and my hands have never been cleaner... but unfortunately I will likely not call Mr. Appliance again. **SECOND POST** This company should be used as an example of customer service excellence!! Following my original post (less than 12 hours later) I was contacted by the owner of the company. I was left feeling heard, as he was empathetic to my concern. He offered us a full refund once I explained what I found, THEN he offered me Barrie Colts tickets as a goodwill gesture! I have changed my rating to 5 stars, and most DEFINITELY would recommend them, AND will call on them again if we need them. I'm still blown away.

Was part of the Bosch dishwasher recall. Part was ordered and told to wait. No problem. Got a call one day, they received extra parts, could they squeeze me in. Absolutely. Andrew showed up in less than a half hour. Job done a half hour later. Fantastic. This by far is the absolute worst company. If i could give them a 0 star i would. Absolute joke. First of all the fridge i bought was broken to begin with. I didn't receive any phone call from them for almost 3 weeks. I had to follow up with them myself to make the appointment. After having a technician come out to Orillia area mind you the only technician that works in orillia that the compressor was default he could not repair it. 4 hours of my time wasted. He came back today this morning after being an hour late to say my driveway was not plowed or salted. When i spoke to the owner she said it is in our policy. I asked what policy because i never got anything. She hung up on me and avoided my calls after i called again. Do yourself a favour and stay away from companies like this. i am dealing with Whirlpool directly and am very pleased how they handled their customers. To add the technician was extremely rude and this was our 3rd time.dealing with him. Red flag company. Do not trust

I was surprised they were able to repair our GE oven the same day as the repair tech had the part in his vehicle. I did however think it was a little expensive for install. However, my oven is a gas range and required a gas technician which is more expensive. I do not recommended the GE cafe gas range but would recommend Mr Appliance for repairs.

When I called to book an appointment for someone to come look at my dishwasher the lady on the phone was very polite and asked me a few questions on the phone (even the exact model of my dishwasher and where to find that information) to try and determine what the issue might be, that way they could hopefully have the part/ parts needed on the truck to fix it that day. When Jason came to my house he was on time, very polite and respectful in my house by being mindful of any mess his equipment may make and also wearing those little booties in my house as to not make any mess. He came and diagnosis my dishwasher and then repaired it that day because he had the part on his truck. I was one happy girl to have my dishwasher back especially that day as I was thinking he would have to come back at a later date to repair it. I understand that having the repair done on the same day is not always possible but it sure worked out great for this shift worker. Josh and Riley were at our home today to repair our very noisy cloths dryer. They promptly went to work diagnosing the problem and started dismantling the machine to fix the badly worn bearings. They were very efficient and had the job done, it seemed, in no time at all. We can now have a lot less noise on laundry day. He also told us about a draw in December for a super deluxe mixer but my husband and I can't seem to access it. Could you direct us again please. Very happy with your service.

They do not sell parts, they list themselves as appliance repair and parts but when you call asking for a part they quickly say we do not sell parts, very misleading I suggested they update there listing.

Receptionist wasn't friendly at all. I first said hi how are you... she paused like what are you asking me that for with question in her voice... I saw 2 different phone numbers on line for the Barrie area & was asking her if there were 2 different Mr. Appliance's in Barrie or if they were the same location. She was going on to say it depends where you are located they are franchised owned & on and on pausing between my questions as if i was asking a dumb question... I got frustrated which i never get and said i will call someone else.
