Recommend to take first aid course here. Ask for Brian
I am currently enrolled in the plumbing program. The staff are all professionals in their perspective trade and have great communication skills. The plumbing instructor is very skilled in the trade and has very good teaching methods. I would recommend this program to anyone that is interested in working in the trades.
It’s only the first week here, so far so good! Was nervous to be starting school up again but the amazing staff, students and environment helped me ease into back into it. Everyone is very friendly, very knowledgeable and very helpful. So glad I am here starting my future and glad it’s worth every penny.
Welcoming & positive classroom environment. I'm loving this trade,(electrician).
I'm loving the school so far! They are well informed, the class size is perfect and the staff are great. Our teacher has been in the trades for almost 30 years so his answers are straight forward and reliable! In the time I've been in classes I have learned so much! I would definitely recommend skilled trades college!!
no placement when graduated. seems you have to acquired hours in a unionized shop but very very difficult to get a placement in those shops. some companies will let you work for them but not count hours towards your required hours. mostly joe jobs. really really frustrating. it's better to line up a placement before you take this course.
Great environment for learning .
Great program. Took the plumbing program and it’s definitely the best option to gaining the most skills and knowledge possible. The instructor Frank is great he makes sure every student improves and learns as much as possible. If you’re looking for the best opportunity to learn, Frank is your guy you won’t regret it. 12 weeks seems like a short amount of time but the days are condensed and you learn a lot each day. Got hired a week after finishing the program.
The Electrician course was a great way to learn the basics of the trade, very hands on and informative, 10/10 would recommend.
I was enrolled in Joe DeBortoli’s Electrical Pre-Apprentice program and thoroughly enjoyed every day. He made the class exciting and for once i would wake up every morning ready and excited to come to class. I would highly would recommend this school if you are looking into the trades.
This college is the best to get your pre-apprenticeship for as they teach you the skills you need and then some when going into the field.
This private college is awesome fo us, specially for me. Hope this course will help me learn alot more stuff for the future. Thanks
I am coming to a end of my course for my plumbing class and all I have to say is nothing but positive things. The school is very effective because it is mostly hands on like you are actually doing the trade. I wasn't too sure how it would be considering there is a pandemic going on but the staff and factuality at STC handle protocols very well keeping all the students and teachers safe, all around good school if you are looking to get into the trades
Im currently in my second week of the plumbing program with Frank Pera, i must say i love the course so far and have already learned a lot of valuable things that i can use once i get out in the field. Frank is a great teacher with a good sense of humor and tons of knowledge. thanks, Richard A
STC is a really good college with great teachers, friendly staff, you get hands on training with professional teachers who been experience for years, you get very good advises and practices tips, I highly recommend this institution for anyone who is pursuing a career in plumbing. I came here knowing nothing about plumbing and in a few weeks and have done many projects under the supervision of a great instructor, I feel as confident that will push further more with his encouragement.
STC has been a great experience. The electrician program offers a good mix of theory and practical knowledge that keeps the days interesting. The instructor, Chris Dias, is very knowledgeable and always up for explaining any misunderstandings in order for the class or even one individual to understand. Only 12 weeks to gain skills and knowledge that would normally take 2 years to achieve to help position ourselves as apprentices in the work places above those without any experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking to get into the trades.
This is a great school with great teachers and they work with you as much as possible
It's a great place to start your career in trades
Enrolled in the electrical program and so far have learned a lot of valuable information and skills.
Joe is one of the best teachers i’ve had, you can tell he loves his job.
Best school for teaching electrical. Highly recommend for beginners. Lots of hands on experience .
Good school and great teacher
Great instructors for both the hands-on practical along with in class learning!! The one problem I have is that what is shown as equipment distributed isn't quite what is shown. Had a great day with James Hardie and PCL Interior and Exterior Inc!!! Mike and Rob were awesome. It's a great siding product, high quality and well worth it. Wished we had more time to work with them!!! Simply great!! Can't forget Jose from Henkel LePage as well!!!
I waited until the absolute last day to make this review . I attended STCs Intro to home Reno course from January 4-March 26 2021 . I came in with some experience in trades such as carpentry and foundation work that being said I learned a crazy amount from the school . Paul was a great teacher and had no problem explaining things into finer detail for those who cared to learn . This course is designed for the individual who Actually wants to learn and become the best tradesmen or tradeswoman they can be . If you’re not that person I don’t think you will get as much out of it as I did . I met some fantastic people in this course and I’m quite certain some will be life long friends . Every member on STCs staff helped me along my journey . Anna , Michelle Glenn and Jamie were nothing but professionals . Also shout out to the plumbing instructor Frank and the electrical instructors Joe & Steve who answered any extra questions I may have had ... even though I wasn’t their immediate student I got nothing but great feedback from them whether I made a flaw or did something correct . Go do yourself a favour and check this school out . Like I said before it’s for those who truly want to be the best they can be I say this with sadness that I will miss everyone from STC. Thank you all .
Joe debortoli Was a great teacher ! Super worth it
Skilled Trades College is for anyone looking to get their foot in the door in the world of electrical or plumbing. If you need an in depth course that will give you hands on and theory knowledge before you start working full time I would recommend STC!
Great school! Excellent teachers!
The professors are carefully selected and show a real love for their specific trade. The class sizes were small making each experience in the shop practically 1:1. Couple this (plumbers pun) with a thorough in-class curriculum and you're left with all the knowledge and skills required to excel in your trade. Frank, teaching the plumbing program, is an excellent teacher being both patient yet critical of your work.
Started the plumbing program in September. Knew nothing about plumbing before, know more than nothing now.
Well organized clean & respected facility
I am a few days from graduating from the electrical pre- apprenticeship program and the only thing to say is this place is amazing. As a young adult I was looking for an opportunity to develop my skills in a field that would be useful and coming to Skilled Trades College has been far and above the best decision I ever made. The professors are engaging and knowledgeable in their field with lots of experience to provide amazing feedback. The staff are very inclusive and helpful with any and all problems concerning course. If you are looking invest in your future I would strongly recommend attending as the 3 month full time program is fast and aggressive. With the right amount of effort it is by far one of the best ways to enter the trades and exit with lots of knowledge and skills. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking to try something new.
Awesome school with friendly staff. I highly recommend this school if you wanna get into the trades. Plus they help you get ready for work once you are graduated.
I wanted to wait until end of my program to write this review. So here goes, Home Reno Program - it’s a 12 week program to touch on several of the basics in building a home. It’s great for beginners or someone with little experience as I have. You get comfortable using various hand and power tools. You get to work with different materials and products. Very easy to find work afterwards and the school does a lot to assist in that, from resume building and networking. During the program several contractors came to the school looking to acquire new talent. So weather you’re looking for a new career or some self growth too be your own handy person, this is a great opportunity. Now it ain’t perfect a little disconnect in what is being explained in materials you will receive and what you receive. Our text books seemed a little amateur (missing some written material and low quality.) The instructor very skilled and knowledgeable but a little more demonstration prior to doing task would of been beneficial in the lab. Would I recommend this school? Absolutely! Seeing where i was and where I an now. I an on the right path too a very rewarding career. As well as a foot note spoke several times too the other instructors for plumbing and electrical, great guys a lot of knowledge and skill for a career in those fields. Hope this makes your decision easier. Goodluck!
Amazing school! Teachers are knowledgeable and very helpful. I’ve come from knowing absolutely nothing about plumbing and now I feel comfortable with the trade. Highly recommend!
Skilled Trades College of Canada gave me everything I could have asked for in a learning experience, this school focuses most on hands-on and that’s exactly what we all need to learn how to preform the proper way. I’m in the plumbing program and I gotta say Frank Pera is one of the best instructors to have. He’ll teach you the right way and he’ll teach you in a way where we all can feel comfortable doing it. This school deserves the five stars I rated it and I really hope Skilled Trades College grows more and more people will take the opportunity to chose this amazing career path. Thank you, Skilled Trades College of Canada
Skilled trades college is one of the best places you can go to better your understanding of the trades. I am in the electrical program and have learned so much already. There is lots of on hand opportunities to learn and better your skills as well. There is in class learning that helps you understand how electricity works. If you get Joe Debortli as a teacher you are in luck he is the best around and has lots of knowledge in the trades. Come to STC and you will not regret it.
I just finished the last of the electrical course @ STC and I’m saddened it’s already over. It was truly a memorable and unforgettable learning experience. I wouldn’t have wanted anyone but Joe P as my instructor. He was informative; engaging, patient and always had me crackin’ up. For those who are hesitant about taking this course, don’t be. It’s worth the time and money. It’s a true investment in yourself that you can’t get anywhere else.
Excellent program, great staff, by far the best instructional value Ive come across. Ive had zero previous experience or training and If youre looking to start in an electrical field I would highly recommend coming here.
Stc is an amazing atmosphere i highly recomend it to anyone whos interesterd in learning plumbing ,electrical or brick laying great hands on exprience. The teachers and administrative staff are amazing and very helpful 5 stars all around.!
I’m currently apart of the electrician pre apprentice program and very happy with what I’ve been learning here at the school. Our instructor Chris is very helpful with guiding us through our theory and practical material. He also takes his time to explain anything we may not understand. Upon enrollment the school provided all books and tools we would need to be in the work environment. Overall I can say thus far it has been a great experience and would recommend this school to anyone looking to get into the trades.
Awsome school very happy with the teachers. Tons of hands on work!
Skilled Trades College helped me learn everything I needed to know as a pre-apprentice electrician. They set you on the right path and will make sure the things you learn stick with you. Would recommend this school to anybody going into the trades. #gobadgers
Great school with an amazing amount on in shop experience to help you be prepared for ur first apprenticeship job.
Facilities are well kept and instructor (Randy) is an excellent teacher with years of experience in the field and a great personality. Would recommend this school to anyone looking to get into the trades.
Staff is very welcoming and very hands on. They help with your success a lot. Very caring and honourable towards students. Worth the money and time :)
Spectacular school to go to if you want to get into the electrical trade. The curriculum covers everything you need to know to get out there and work. The greatest thing you gain is the hands-on skills to be ready from day one on the job to show your potential employer you know what you're doing. And unlike public colleges you leave the program with the mandatory safety certificates to be on the job site. I had the pleasure of having an amazing instructor Rob Shver, who is there to help you the student get what you paid for the program and if you want to learn anything outside of the course outline he will be more than happy to teach you. And like all pre-apprenticeship programs you do not get a job right after however they will help you only if you help yourself. You get out of the program from what you put into it. If you don't believe these reviews check out their facebook page to see graduates landing apprenticeships.
It was great learning here in this college. We were given many labs to do. it was not just theory but also practical. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to get into the electrical trade.
This school is very professional on both the theoretical and practical side if you’re looking to be a tradesmen this is the best place to start off
This is for the Vaughan Campus and the Instructor: Mr. Rossi. The school itself is quite large. Classrooms are spacious and the shop area is huge. It provides plenty of space to work without feeling crowded. Mr. Rossi was a fantastic instructor. I felt he treated us as though we were already apprentices working on the job and he was our journeyman instead of a 'normal' teacher/student relationship. I personally learned a lot from him and his experience in the field. You will definitely get out of this what you put in. Hard work will pay off.
Very pleased and satisfied with the class. Frank the plumbing instructor is a great instructor, while providing detailed lessons and information but also making the class fun and a pleasure to learn. Lots of hands on work in the class to follow. The facility is a very clean environment and well kept. Glad I made the choice in taking plumbing at STC & was able to secure a job just 2 days after graduating at the end of March. Would highly recommend!
The program is great, Joe really knows how to make the class fun
Skilled trades college has taught me very valuable skills that I will be taking into my apprenticeship. It has been an amazing time with great staff and classmates.
Friend recommended this school to me program was reluctant to try it but didn't regret it it's an amazing program and my teacher Randy Eckler teaches about the industry with passion from the heart.
The skilled trades college gave great hands on experience and knowledge. I felt very comfortable coming into the program with 0 prior experience. The teachers are very helpful and patient with our questions/concerns. The only thing I could suggest is the workbooks be updated and proof read for easier reading.
I am very pleased with STC’s plumbing program. It gives me hands on experience while also giving in depth analysis in the classroom. The teachers also give thorough and precise explanations which leads to a good understanding of your task. Overall an exceptional place to learn and I am very happy that I signed up!
Highly recommend STC if you or your children are looking to get all the knowledge you will know about your desired trade. I am currently in the plumbing course and before I started I had no prior knowledge of the trade. only 6 weeks into the course we are roughing in working toilets, lavs, sinks and showers with running water. Great hands on environment with lots of practical shop time that you won't find anywhere else. Great School!
The plumbing course is great.
I came into the Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship program with no experience whatsoever. 3 months later I'm leaving with so much knowledge and hands-on experience and I am so glad I decided to take this program before beginning my apprenticeship. Most importantly the program has given me confidence to begin working in the field. The small class sizes really make a difference and John H is such an amazing teacher!! He makes learning so fun and enjoyable. All the staff are so friendly and helpful too. Thank you STC for a wonderful school experience.
Excellent School I can say I learned a lot from Electrical class and I don't forgot say thanks Joe De Bortoli he is the best instructor I ever see, he very friendly and always shared experience about the job.I strongly recommend someone who wants to become an Electrican should come to learn from the Electrican Pre Apprentice program in 12 week or 6 months.
Great school!! I’m in the electrical course and I have to say that our teacher,Joe P.,is doing a fantastic job in teaching us the theory and hands on. You can tell he cares for the students and wants them to succeed with giving us great lessons and advice for when we get into the workforce. Keep it up STC!
Currently in the middle of my 7th week in Pre-apprenticeship Electrician Program and I have more skills and confidence in my abilities then I did when I first came here with little to no knowledge in the trades. Amazing work environment that has profs like Joe Prezioza who make learn fun and memorable while also giving life advice that you won't find online. Skilled Trades College is a perfect place to start your career in the trades. Worth every penny for admission.
I love coming here, i never thought id find myself in a school setting where i'm having fun and learning at the same time. I took the plumbing course and already in 3 weeks i feel like i know so much. The kids that are attending are all awesome and the teachers (Frank) are even better, if you want to get into the trades and find a career... GO TO STC !!!
This school is a great place to learn what you need to learn to start your 9000 hours. my teacher Frank has been a great teacher I have learned a lot.
I Love the tools and the hands on experiance.. this experiance only strenghthen my abilitys
First absolutely great teacher (plumbing). Extremely knowledgeable, great environment. Classes are small so it’s one on one teaching.
Before joining STC, I wasn't too sure with what I wanted to do as a career and now that I joined I feel more confident with becoming an electrician. I recommend the Electrical pre-apprenticeship program, lot's of interesting things to learn and doing the hands-on practice makes learning a lot easier. If you get Mario as a teacher, he knows his stuff, very educated and experienced in the electrical field, and he is devoted and determined to helping his students any way possible.
Had a horrible experience here, students didn't practice basic hygiene. Bunch of dirty kids not washing their hands . I also experienced discrimination here.
Attending the electrian pre apprenticeship. The program was well worth it, lots of hands work and you will learn alot that's for sure. Joe de bortoli is a amazing teacher, I have learn alot from him.I came in this course not knowing how to strip wires or about a code book. I can wire up a whole room now. If you are thinking about this school just sign up you won't regret it for sure that's for sure.
I'm the plumbing Pre apprenticeship Program. The teacher is a 40+ plumber with extensive knowledge. Any question u have he can answer. He goes beyond the source material trying to make us real tradesmen. The negative concern I have is the lack of tools for the amount of students. However ur own tool r welcome
This has been the best learning experience I have ever had, i have never had an instructor like Frank best one yet, I recomend doing plumbing you'll have a great time.
The school gave me the hands on knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the plumbing trade. Great experience overall
Amazing team
great skill trade centre ????????
I'm currently working through the part time electrician course. So far so good. The course is very hands on and provides real world problem solving. I know by the end of the course I will be prepared to start my apprenticeship.
I Have 2 weeks left in my plumbing program, it was an amazing experience. Everyday we had something new that we were doing. Made many new friends and had an amazing teacher.
Currently in the electrical pre-apprenticeship program and totally love it, excellent teacher and very knowledgeable. Fantastic school and highly recommend if planning on getting into the trades.
Best college
The experience at the school has been awesome. Very professional and skillful in their teachings and knowledge. Very happy with my decision to go here.
Great school. Lots of hand on learning. Home Renovation teacher is very helpful, also with the staff here. Definitely recommend this school for trade.
Great school and teachers. Offers the perfect combination of theory, and hands on experience. 100% recomend to anyone looking to get into trades.
High recommendation. As a female I was slightly worried I would feel uncomfortable in a male dominated school but it was far from the case. Mario, my instructor was probably one of my favourite teachers of all time. As long as you apply yourself you will be successful in this course! Went from knowing nothing to job ready fast.
It’s the best college in Ontario. Bright future in yr hands. Hand on work.
Excellent place to gain hands on experience. STC has helped me learn about electrical from basically having zero knowledge before hand.
Amazing pre apprenticeship program, lots on hands on learning as well as theory! Currently enrolled in the electrician pre apprentice course and I’m loving it, wouldn’t choose any other school.
The STC has been an amazing experience so far. I have learned so much practical knowledge in so short a time, I feel confident that when I go into the workplace I will more than prepared. This is an experience I will remember for the rest of my life.
Would recommend/Have already recommended. Very Welcoming environment with good and invested teachers with smart teaching methods. Fun hands on learning and overall experience!
My experience at STC in the plumbing program was phenomenal. I learned and excelled in all areas of plumbing in and out of the classroom. If someone is looking to get into trades I highly highly recommend this school over ALL other schools. They also offer home renovation as well as electrical program which from my prospective look like great courses too.
Skilled Trades College is amazing to get into the Trades. I completed electrical and the instructor (Joe Debortoli) was the best, couldn’t have asked for a better teacher. He is very skilled, makes the classes enjoyable to where you want to come in everyday.
Amazing program & great staff. Good instructional course and great hands on experience. I’ve had zero previous experience or training in electrical and I’m gaining more confidence. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to start a career in this field.
I have been attending the skilled trades college for an electrical pre-apprenticeship program. The course has offered me insightful and extremely helpful information and practical knowledge that will give me a great advantage when I start my apprenticship. I would recommend this course to anyone looking to begin a career in the electrical field!
I'm currently halfway through the in the part-time electrician pre-apprentice program and am loving it. Chris Dias is a great teacher and knows his stuff. With this program, I can feel confident applying for apprenticeships having hands-on experience and gaining practical knowledge, understanding the electrical code and how to apply it. Highly recommend for anyone looking to get into the field.
I am currently in the electrical pre apprenticeship program and I can say that this is the best school to attend if you are trying to get into the electrical field. Amazing experience with hands on learning everyday. Joe D is an excellent teacher and is very knowledgeable.
They have fantastic Course. Lots of hand on in the lab. Totally recommend to this school.
STC is great place to start your career in plumbing. My son entered as a shy inexperienced 19 year old and left with the confidence of a seasoned apprentice
This program has a lot to offer and will get you're foot through the doors. I got good hands on experience and class work was on point. The teacher is well knowledgable. Recommended.
My instructor Mario and the other instructor Kevin helped me so much in understanding the Electrical course. I came in knowing nothing and am now able to talk some shop. They even have you go through things like first aid and working at heights programs so that you have more certification to help get an apprenticeship. I found an apprenticeship 2 weeks after graduating even though it was the holiday season because some contractors get resumes from the school and then contact you personally with offers. The knowledge you learn is very useful and as long as you bring your own steel toe boots and maybe a sharpie, you will have everything you need to pass the course and start on the road to becoming a licensed electrician. And try to sign up during an open house to get a free drill at the end of the course
I found my electrical pre apprenticeship program enjoyable and comprehensive and the staff are friendly. My instructor Mario is very knowledgeable in the electrical trade. He could explain theory in-depth, with exceptional knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and hands on experience. I also appreciate the trade experience that I was able to learn and the tricks of the trade. I program really gave me the practical knowledge as well as knowing the code that comes with years of working in the field.
Course was good and the instructors were really good I would suggest it to anyone who wants to go into trades
If you have the money for the coarse I would recommend attending. Make sure to start looking for a placement before you graduate. This school doesn't guarantee a placement, saying that i'm still glad I attended.
Love this place best thing ever
Starting the Electrician Pre Apprenticeship Program has been one of the best decisions that I have made in my adult life. Despite having no prior formal electrical training or knowledge, the Skilled Trades College has provided a safe, fun and comprehensive learning environment with professional and experienced teachers. I would recommend STC to anyone interested in a fantastic fast track electrical program!
I did the pre apprenticeship plumbing program. I was very happy with my experience there, they delivered a perfect hands on experience. The instructor Frank is a no nonsense type of guy that you can expect on the job site. Overall I’m happy with my experience and would recommend this course to anyone looking to get in to plumbing.
This school is fun and our teacher Randy is a amazing teacher wish I had him for all my high school classes lol In the first two weeks we've already learnt so much and gained confidence as a individual working in the plumbing field. I truly believe if you want to start your career in the trades this is the place to begin.
Great School!
STC plumbing program is the first step to prepare you with everything you need to know, plus more to get a head start before you start an apprenticeship. Frank is highly experienced and an awesome teacher that makes both theory and pratical part of plumbing very fun. There is practical work every day. Highly recommend! UPDATE I graduated from STC and I am very satisfied with my desicion in enrolling in the plumbing course. I am now job ready with the knowledge of a second year apprentice. Because of STC, I am confident that I can find a job. Thank you Frank who has taught so much!
Great learning environment, experienced and skilled teachers. I learned a lot about plumbing and others trades while attending STC. Would recommend to anybody looking for a starting ground to the trades field.
This school has a very welcoming and exicting environment with the mix of learning in class and learning the hands on part which is my favourite. Joe D, has the best teaching techniques and makes class very exciting and enjoyable.
STC is an amazing place to get not only theoretical knowledge but also lots of hands on experience. The teachers are extremely helpful and supportive and you will be job ready in 12 weeks. Anyone looking to become an electrician or plumber would get a great start at STC.
I'm currently doing my plumbing pre-apprenticeship at STC. We have a good balance of classroom theory and hands on practical work. My instructor has been really helpful with giving clarification in assignments and making sure I'm staying on track.
Joe Preziosa clearly shows that he is passionate and knowledgeable about the electrical program. It makes you feel the same way. I would definitely recommend the pre-apprentice electrical program to anyone who is interested in getting into the trade.
Great school and plumbing pre apprentice course. I enjoy Randy Eckler’s teaching.
Most of these reviews are extremely positive and there is good reason why. I just graduated from the pre-apprentice electrical program last Friday, Sep 25th and will be starting my new job (apprenticeship) with Gem-Tec tomorrow. Having taken this course, I feel well prepared to handle the tasks that lay ahead of me. I found this course to be very comprehensive as it covers several pillars – theory, electrical code (rules), reading and drawing blueprints, and of course, a heavy focus on hands-on work (you will be wiring up basic residential and commercial installations in the shop everyday). Excited yet?! As for the instructors – I was blessed to be in Joe Preziosa’s class. Joe is an absolute gem – extremely knowledgeable, patient, very encouraging and a really funny guy too. I hear all the instructors are just as great. As for finding employment – no, they will not place you in a job. No school does that – public or private. This is not an employment agency. That said, they will share certain resources with you to help you find that first job. How hard you hustle to get it depends on you. I was in the full-time, twelve-week course. Glad I did it. Money well spent in my book. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me – danielbans23@gmail.com. Good luck!
Great place for learning in a hands on environment to ready you for the work place in specific fields.
The Skilled Trades College of Canada is a great opportunity for anyone out there that is looking for something different than the regularly social norms but is very important in our daily lives. I will be graduating from the Pre-Apprentice plumbing program on Friday and I am excited because having a professor like Randy Eckler who has been in this trade for many years, not only gives us the technical aspect of the trade, but also the realistic things that can happen as well that you would only learn from experience. I'm excited to see what is in store for me and the advantage that STC has put me in going into an apprenticeship.
I’m currently enrolled in the electrical course and I’m very happy with it! There’s lots of hands projects for us to complete so we’re actually getting experience, not just learning in a classroom. My teacher Chris is friendly and has no problem taking as much time as I need to make sure I understand.
I attended the home renovation program and I love it! The teacher and staff are amazing. They’re very helpful and want to you to succeed. I enjoy attending class and my overall experience has been great.
Great school with amazing teachers with a very professional work environment. I would highly recommend anyone looking to get into the trade to come by this school to get an understanding of it!
A truly incredible place to get your education. Small class sizes are a huge advantage for those looking for a more in-depth approach to learning a trade. I highly recommend Skilled Trades College of Vaughn (in particular, the plumbing course) The instructor Randy Eckler is awesome!
Great place to gain knowledge in the trades industry with lots of hands on experience, as well as the staff are very welcoming and helpful.
Started the plumbing program at the Vaughn campus, glad I made the decision the instructor is awesome and very knowledgeable about the trade. You get a chance to do a lot of hand on work which was a great way to learn ... well worth it
great school fun classes and love working in the labs
I loved being a student in this College. The teacher, the materials, the lab and the whole studying atmosphere are all satisfied.
I came to a point in my life where I knew I needed to make a career change. I was interested in learning a skilled trade. I was a bit nervous about entering the trades because I had almost zero experience. I decided to enroll in the Pre-Apprenticeship at Skilled Trades College of Canada. I couldn't have made a better decision. I started the 3 month Plumbing course in July of this year. Throughout the course the college provided the hands on training as well as the theory needed to start a career in plumbing. The course is challenging but also a lot of fun. The 12 weeks fly by so enjoy it while you can. The instructor for the Woodbridge Plumbing Course was Randy Eckler. Randy has 40 plus years experience in the Plumbing trade and taught me and the class so much about the trade in a short time period. Randy made learning a fun experience and motivated me to learn as much as possible about the trade. I would recommend taking the Plumbing course with Randy because he is passionate about helping young people get a start in the trade and better themselves. I graduated the from the Plumbing course on September 21st of this year and I have already been accepted into the UA local 46 Union and hired as an Apprentice with a reputable mechanical company. I couldn't have imagined that in less than 4 months I have bettered my life and look forward to the start of a new career. If you're interested in a career in the trades I strongly recommend Skilled Trades.
Currently enrolled in electrical program, it is an excellent program for people with little to no experience in electrical work. The instructors have been very helpful and the labs are practical.
As i am enrolled in the plumbing course at this school i am learning new things everyday. Work in the classroom runs smoothly as my very knowledgeable instructor Randy makes it a good environment in the shop and in the classroom. shop has the materials needed for all students to work on whatever they r working on, i highly reccomened this school for pre apprentices

My partner goes to this school. She said there is lot of hands on learning but also 30% classroom learning. Most importantly she’s enjoying Home Renovation.
Taking this course is one of the best decisions I've made. I've learned so much. I can't wait to get a job in the electrical field and continue learning.
It was overall great experience and I’m now better qualified for my trade. Great information and teaching
Excellent school that has an awesome facility! Amazing instructors that are always ready to help. The 3 months goes quicker than you can imagine
Best Trades Program EVER! I went to Humber college last year for plumbing, worst experience ever, your instructors don't care about you, you have to spends thousands of dollars on outdated and pointless text books and the program isn't even hands on. One of my friends recommended Skilled Trades College of Canada so I dropped out of Humber and enrolled and it was the best decision I ever made in my life. Mike the head of the college and Frank the plumbing instructor are two of the most honest, smartest and nicest people I ever met. They helped me become job ready, learn real plumbing skills and helped me get a job before I even graduated from the program . Best Trades College in Canada , Hands Down!!!
Really enjoy the electrical program at STC learning a lot and working hands on is great too. Really good teacher Joe is the best!
Small class size makes for personal training for better, focused attention when needed. A lot of information but instructor makes class fun and easier to absorb info.
My experience at this school has been extremely enlightening. STC is helping me build the skills I need to take the next steps into becoming a plumbing apprentice
Im in the 3 month pre-apprentice electrician program. The day is divided between theory( morning) and practical (afternoon). This is my 3rd week in the program and so far i've learned different wiring methods. I really like the afternoon portion of the day since we get to do alot of hands on practice. The hands on activities builds upon the previous day's which makes the classes challenging/interesting.
Enrolling into the Skilled Trades College of Canada was an eye opener, I've learned hands on skills and knowledge from an amazing instructor. STC has given me the tools I'll need for on the job situations. I highly recommend STC if you have a passion to enter into the Trades.
I attended STC in the fall of 2016 and have been working as an Electrical Apprentice since January of 2017. I just finished basic trade school and the skills and knowledge that I obtained during the course not only helped me get hired into the trades but when i went to basic trade school; all the theory that was taught to me made my schooling much more manageable. The entire team at STC was amazing to learn under. From my teacher Mario, to the campus dean Tony, to the owner Ralph. If you are looking to get into the trades and dont have a way to get your foot in the door, and have no way of getting experience, the Skilled Trades College is the best place to go.
Amazing training program! Everyone was very helpful and would definitely reccommend it for anyone who is looking to get into trades
In the 3 months that I have attended this school I learned a lot about plumbing that I never knew before. This was a great experience for me and I would recommend this plumbing program to any students in the future who want to get into the plumbing trade.
After graduating from STC in december instructor Frank Pera and Tony from admin strongly encouraged finding work right away with the new knowledge gained and also encouraged staying in contact with the school for times of hardship where we couldn’t find any work. Within the first month of searching it was very difficult finding work with just a pre appreciateship diploma as the shops were leaning towards apprentices with 2-3 years of experience... what these shops failed to realize is that we as pre apprentice graduates are more than prepared to complete the work done by a second or third year apprentice all we need is just the chance that they fail to give to show what we can do, thanks to the teachings and many well taught lessons from Frank Pera. With this being said from keeping in contact with my instructor Frank he was able to come across some shops that were willing to take on and that were in need of new apprentices. As of today January 31st I am now employed with Ekar Mechanal thanks once again to STC, Frank Pera and Tony from Admin and there non stop efforts to seeing there graduates succeed! Before starting at STC I had my doubts as usual... First day into the program instructor Frank Pera blew my mind with his methods of teaching and his love for the trade. It really opened up not only my own eyes but the class as a whole of the opportunity’s you gain from taking this plumbing course. This has been the best 3 month learning experience of any kind of school I’ve personally been to, through being apart of this remarkable course I’ve learned to love the trade myself. Great course! Even greater instructor! 10/10 for me hands down!
Currently attending the Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship course with Joe P. I really enjoy the course flow, its very knowledgeable, Joe does a very good job at teaching, and helps explain everything in detail. The hands on experience is amazing as well, very realistic and informative. Joe makes sure the whole class understands what the objective of the day is for the lab, and also goes into deep detail when learning theory, and the code book. I would recommend this program to anyone looking to begin a career as an electrician, it is very helpful and informative. Joe P is a fantastic instructor!
Wow have been here a few days and love it! Can’t wait to keep learning and love the tools provided with te program! Thanks again
I recommend this course to anyone who is considering the electrical trade. This course will teach you practicable information, as well as in class information to prepare you for you’re future in electrical. Overall it was a fun learning environment and gets a five star rating
Enrolling in the Plumber Pre Apprenticeship program at Skills Trade College has been the best decision I have ever made. It is a very hands-on experience and my teacher Randy Eckler is the greatest teacher I’ve ever had. He truly cares about his students and offers extra help if needed.
Great school for coop kids as well. Nice staff and help all around. I would recommend this school to anyone looking to learn plumbing
I would definitely recommend taking the plumbing course. I have learnt a lot while I was there and enjoyed it alot and the teacher was very knowledgeable and helpful.
A great environment with great teachers. I came into the program knowing nothing about electrical and now I’m confident that I can do the job. It’s a very friendly setting. My classmates and our teacher Joe D created a wonderful experience that we’ll never forget.
Great school, I enjoyed being there. Staff was good aswell.
Best school I've been to. Very hands on. Teachers are great. Taking Home Renovation Class. I knew nothing before. Now I feel confident in my work. James Hardy came to our home renovation class today and we learned how to put up there siding on our house. Great experience possible future job.
My experience at the school has been great so far, I’m new to the electrical trade and I love it. It’s an amazing experience with classmates and our teacher!
Great school with great teachers! Curriculum covers everything about plumbing so you can start your carreer with experience!
Great school learning a lot can’t believe how much fun I’m having while I’m learning the trait
Very good hands on experience that gives you lots of knowledge and potential to become a great plumber.
Great place for theoratical and practical knowledge... chris is a great teacher...good learning and fun..
Currently enrolled in the plumbing program. Frank is an awesome teacher who makes sure you understand what you are doing as well as gives very thorough information every step of the way. The hands on learning is consistent and makes sure everyone is involved and growing knowledge.
Would really recommend for anybody getting into the trades, the staff is very friendly and helpful and the instructors are very knowledgeable and friendly aswell, especially in the plumbing course which covers everything you'll need to know once you start working
I’m currently enrolled in the plumbing program at the skilled trades college I would highly recommend the school it’s a great environment the teachers are great I’m only in my second week and I feel like I’ve already learned so much.
Great program very fun and educational.
Almost done my Pre-Apprenticeship plumbing course. My experience so far has been great. If you are looking for lots of hands on hours with materials and equipment you would only be able to access during an apprenticeship, this school is for you. I feel like I have a jumpstart to getting my apprenticeship going once I'm finished here. My instructor Mr. Rossi has been great. Tough guy, but teaches the right way, lets you figure out the answer yourself rather than just giving it to you and sending you on your way. The staff involved in enrollment and other such things has been attentive and lovely to deal with.
Best school for the trades that are offered, they teach you in detail on everything you need to know, They help you a lot through projects and take their time to actually help you fully understand the in's and outs of the courses, best decision of my life for sure.
I’ve been going to school here for less than 2 weeks and I already feel like I’ve learned how to do so much. I can already tell that Frank is an amazing teacher and that this 12 weeks are going to be amazing!
I did my plumbing Pre-Apprenticeship at Skilled Trades College with Randy Eckler as my instructor. I was quickly overwhelmed by the learning curve but Randy made sure that I was not left behind from the rest of the class. The small class sizes allow for a more personal approach. Randy is a gifted specialist and is highly recommended if you're looking to get into plumbing. Nothing beats experience.
I was enrolled in Joe DeBortoli’s Electrical Pre-Apprentice program and thoroughly enjoyed every day. Joe made sure that every person in the class was ready and excited to come to school and for once i was happy to wake up early to come and learn every day.
For a whimsical time call Plumbing instructor Frank. Trust me you will not regret your time spend here
Best trades pre apprentice program out there. If you think of doing trades this is the place to come !!
Great school and wonderful staff. I'm learning alot to help me pursue my career in electrical.
Very pleased and satisfied with STC. A lot of hands on training. Frank the plumbing instructor is a great instructor, provides detailed lessons and makes learning fun. Highly recommended! You won’t regret it!????????
I highly recommend anyone aspiring to get into the Electrical or Plumbing field to attend Skilled Trades College of Canada. I had a great experience with the school; I had the opportunity to learn real life skills through the hands-on training. The instructor who taught me was a tradesmen himself, providing a unique perspective into the world of learning. The program itself was tailored solely to electrical, requiring no filler courses. This was important for me as I wasted no time learning things that would not help me in my career as an electrician. So come learn, interact, and network with your peers in a small classroom setting at Skilled Trades College; you will not be disappointed. If you would like to see for yourself, go check our their Facebook and Instagram pages (just search Skilled Trades College); there are plenty of pictures and videos of the school, as well there are more testimoals from past students!!
I’m currently in a plumbing course with STC we are close to graduation I really like it and enjoy it I got experience with this course I’m actually ready to start work as a prentice in any company. My teacher Joe Rossi teach us everything detailed and make us depend on ourself to do work in the shop. I advise anyone that want to join the trade to start with STC.
Great instructors and learning environment, overall an outstanding experience. Amazing programs for anyone that wants to learn, and are interested in skilled trades!
Joe Presioza is the best teacher I have ever had. He is very knowledgeable about electrical and he not only explains the curriculum but also his personal experiences of what you will expect in the industry. He treats you like an adult, not a child. Truly great. Thanks Joe
The best choice I ever made as a career Mario is an amazing teacher and I couldn't have asked for better and I really appreciate everything he did for me as a student! The labs are amazingly put together and the class flows perfectly with the curriculum.
Even scammers appear on the news
Coming to skilled trades college of Canada was one of my best decisions ever, I had no training or experience in electrical but have been taught everything I need to know to be an apprentice and am fully prepared to apply for a job. Very thankful for the experience and knowledge!
Enrolling at this school was a great decision. There is both the hands on and theoretical aspects of the trade being taught. Incredible teacher who cares about the students and their understanding of the content.
Has anyone attended this school with a successful placement outcome? Looking for feedback or review before I make the commitment.
I'm over a month into this program and it is super comprehensive, I started knowing virtually nothing and already am beginning to feel competent and comfortable. The fundamentals are covered well with theory and most projects you so in the lab are rather fun. Plus my instructor (and as far as I know all the other ones) are helpful, thorough and at the absolute top of their level. I have an apprenticeship lined up and by the time I am ready to start that job, I will be VERY prepared to say the least. Would recommend
I really advise people to check this College out if you were thinking about becoming a Plumber. My teacher Randy is an amazing teacher that really cares about his students, and never hesistates to help someone out until they fully understand. The class is overall really fun and enjoyable. Ive never done anything to do with plumber before, but after joining this class, and only being here a couple of weeks, I can say ive learnt alot! Definitly recommend it!
I have just started plumbing course from a very basic understanding and Randy quickly adapts the level to meet yours, while at the same time demands your full focus and intensity to learn as much as possible during the lessons. Fantastic so far, would recommend to Anyone. I really think that Randy’s experience helping me a lot particularly on hand work! Since I had his class’s i think my skills had improved, but not that only also he encourage me always then I could have a lot of confidence through this lesson! He is really the good teacher and a good talker! Thank you Randy
Great experience. Small classes and tons of hands on practical learning that you wont get anywhere else. Update: I am now graduated with the skills i need to start my new career.
The electrical pre-apprenticeship at STC is a comprehensive hands on program designed to prepare individuals for an apprenticeship in the electrical field. This program provides high quality hand tools and trains students to appropriately use the tools for the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment. The school is clean, orderly and the teachers provide insight and direction.
I'm currently enrolled in the pre apprentice electrician program and I've learned alot. My instructor Joe De Bartoli is amazing he's easy to talk to, helps you understand the material and he likes to joke around. You couldn't ask for a better instructor.
STC provided hands on training applicable to the field. The plumbing course with Frank is great.
This is just my own thoughts about attending stc. They do have experienced electricians that know how to teach ; they help you so much on the code book and knowing how to wire panels switches etc, BUT you give you cheap tools they dont even give you a drill ; the hard hat they give is so basic and all the tools probably not worth over $300. This school says they help you find a job but all they do is take your resume and if any contractor asks they hand you resume over. Out of my class of 12 only 1 got a job and thats only because his brother is already an electrician. The top person in my class that got a 95 overall average didnt even get a job. Its VERY HARD to get a job as an electrical apprentice for a first year. Everyone wants people who are already registered. This diploma they give you looks good but DOES NOT guarantee you a job. Trying to get into the union? You need math and physics high school credits and even then the union does an intake every year and only a few amount get in. You do not want to be $9000 in a hole. ALSO IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT YOUR MARK IS ; the passing grade is a 60% youre buying the diploma cause the teacher told me the owner isn't in the business of failing people. I would honestly just start as a labourer and work your way up in the construction business if you wanna be an electrician. Its hard to find a job out there and you will need a car. Can't have this type of job without one. At the end of the course they ask all students to give a good review just so we could get a school shirt or a hat. Why not both? We only have the option of one but we payed $9000 for this course? Unbelievable. You cant believe all the good reviews you see , but I guess youll have to find out yourself if you actually attend this school. Great teachers , fun classmates but at the end of the day , no job. I went to the sauga campus but I had to put my review here also to help anyone thinking about going here.
Amazing plumbing program. Builds confidence and relationships in plumbing.
Great school learn lots of hands on and theory Mario is a really good teacher and funny. I didn’t know anything before I came here and I learned so much highly recommend this college.
The best trades school ever! Period.
I’m currently taking the pre apprentice plumbing course and I’m loving it, Learning new things everyday, and building impressive structures that are very satisfying. Frank is a great teacher and personality and he makes sure you understand everything before moving on to make you that much better.
Amazing experience, very detailed and inclusive work space. Best way to learn, Joe D is an excellent teacher and very knowledgeable.
I've been in the plumbing program for two weeks now and I'm blown away at the amount of content we've covered. You don't feel rushed just well-educated. I can't wait to see where I'll be at the end of the program. I can't recommend this place enough. My instructor Frank has been excellent.
Great school, great teachers definitely recommended for anyone looking to get into the electrical field and plumbing!!
Personally I have been to other schools and college, and I say this college is the best because it does with hands on training and have very good teachers unlike the other school out there
Highly recommend the pre-apprenticeship for either plumbing or electrical. I did a plumbing pre-apprenticeship and it was the greatest experience I've ever had, you learn every plumbing sector such as high rise, commercial and residential. All the practical things we do are extremely similar to the field. Another positive thing about this program is the staff, very friendly and helpful. Frank the plumbing instructor, he's the best there is, he passionate about the trade and really wants to help his students. He's got years of plumbing experience, and will teach you everything you need to know in order to be ready to start your apprenticeship.
Im in the pre apprentice plumbing course and it was the best life choice i made, great teachers and great hands on learning environment, would recommend to anyone looking for a trade career!
I’m in the electrical pre apprentice program and I think it’s the best decision I’ve made for my future as an electrician. It’s very hands on and the teachers (especially Joe P) are very cooperative and respectful. If you are looking to become an electrician and you don’t know where to start, Skilled Trades College of Canada is the perfect destination for you.
I am a recent graduate of the Electrical program at Skilled Trades College in Vaughan. My experience here could not have gone any better. I came in with no knowledge or skills and I left with the confidence that I needed to secure work. I was just sponsored into the JAC Local 353 and I start work shortly. STC is a small school, and you really get the feeling that they care about you succeeding in the field. Both teachers and office staff were always willing to share advice about the trade and share connections in the trade. Don't miss the opportunity to attend STC. I am very glad I attended.
Just finished the plumbing course, what a great experience. With an apprenticeship secured with the help of STC, my future is looking brighter and couldn't be happier. Frank is a very knowledgeable and personable instructor. He goes out of his way to make sure you understand the material, as well as giving you the one on one time you need. Great school.
I gave this a shot not knowing what I wanted to do with my future. The best investment I've made, I enjoy this college very much and I look forward to school everyday. Frank is a great teacher and gives you the confidence that you can do anything. If you were in my shoes not knowing what to do I suggest you give this school a chance because now I love the idea of becoming a plumber. thank you STC UPDATE I graduated from the plumbing course and I absolutely loved it. I’ve met a lot of great guys and frank is a great teacher. If anyone that is lost and isn’t sure what to do for a career, give this place a chance. Thank you STC
I sent my son to STC to start his career in electrical in the spring of 2017 and he is now working as a licensed apprentice and loving his career. Thank you STC!!!
This is a great school with helpful instructors and supportive administration. I’ve learned allot so far that is really going to assist me with having the knowledge I need for an apprenticeship with the trade I want to get in.
Such good much wow. Great program. IF U GONNA SIGN UP DO IT AT AN OPEN HOUSE FOR A FREE DRILL. YOU CAN THANK ME LATER
Very happy from everything I’m learning in my electrical pre apprentice program. Thank you guys
The way how the school has the course laid out with a mix of both in class and practical approach to have you job ready which is great. The teachers are great and knowledgeable and are always willing to assist without hesitation which is key. I surely would recommend this school to anyone who wants to get into the trade. ????
Excellent Plumbing course. Being new to trades I would definitely recommend it to aspiring Plumbers.
solid safety training environment would definitely recommend to others
Enrolling into this school has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made towards my education, the facility is amazing and full of all the equipment and supplies needed to replicate job site scenarios, the instructor Randy has a vast knowledge of all things plumbing and trades in general and never have I had a teacher with such passion and dedication to making sure his students become nothing short from amazing! Teachers that care like he does can change lives! If you’re looking to get into the trades this is the place for you!
Great school, in supporting you to succeed. With theory and practical. Most importantly the teachers educating you, have a great level of experience. Giving you the best method of teaching to the real world application of what your learning. Enjoying every bit so far, looking forward to everything else.
Good course for learning the basics and the name alone helps you find a job in the trades
Great teachers and a welcoming environment. Learning valuable skills to use in the trades.
School offers a great combination of in class and in lab experience. Joe D makes for a great teacher with all of his on site experience!
I took the electrical program and it was just a bad experience overall. I could have saved all that money. Old code books, text books were photocopied paper in a binder. Materials and equipment was overused. Lab area was a disaster. Everything seemed thrown together in there. Every part of it seemed shady right from the beginning. The owner, the dean, the attitude, the way it was advertised, the bad information....all shady. Website says that it's industry recognized. Trust me it isn't in any way. Hours go toward nothing in the end. You buy your so called diploma. All the recent reviews are the students who were asked to write one by the school to get some stupid gift for it. Slimy business. Don't fall for it. Don't give them your money. I got a job with a friends uncle who's an electrician. He said I wasted my money. Wish I met him before blowing $9000.
What's with all the 5-star reviews, in perfect English? I smell a rat! I feel someone from the admin. here has posted most of. these reviews. Sue me if I'm wrong.
I went here to start my electrical pre apprenticeship program. I recommend picking another place. All the owner cares about is money. I lost my scissor lift certificate, which doesn't expire. When I called them to get a reprint of the certificate, owner told me every certificate expires after a year, which isn't true. Instead he tells me to come in to pay for my working at Heights certificate. I explained I have my working at Heights certificate and need him to send me a copy of my scissor lift certificate. He flat out refused. I hope this review helps other people looking to get into a trade.
I'm in electrical part time class and so far its been great.....great teachers very helpful very friendly.
Great great great School. Honestly. It's worth every penny, the knowledge ive gained from this experience is amazing and fulfilling. The teachers are on point and very knowledgeable. They're not here just to teach, they go out of their way to make sure you understand. One of the better options!
I am taking the home renovation program and so far I’ve learned so much. You get to demo and build a house as part of the program plus work on fun projects. The learning is structured while still open to questions you might have about the whole process of building, including code. Also staff is very supportive and forward thinking.
STC is an awesome school with a great electrical pre apprenticeship program. My instructor Mario is amazing and one of the best teachers I've ever had. I learned so much in the three months from theory and Canadian electrical code to many hours of practical hands on experience. I'm excited for the future knowing that STC has given me a great foundation to build upon. I highly recommend this school for anyone who is interested in joining the electrical trade.
If you want to be a plumber come here! The school is very professional and take traits very seriously. You will get the best skills and education in ur trait from this school. This was the best decision I have ever made.
Best hands-on training for the brighter future ????
James Hardie Siding/PCL Interior and Exterior finishes Inc, Henkel Lepage came by to showcase their products as well as potentially hire new installers of the product. The instructors were great and the presentation was amazing. A relaxed atmosphere coupled with supplied materials, coffee and lunch truly showed their desire to make a lasting impression. Am excited to potentially become an installer for Hardy Siding or work under PCL Interior and Exterior Finishes Inc. Thank you Skilled Trades College for allowing these companies to drop by and present to the Intro to Reno students. Mardie
I highly recommend this school for pre apprenticeship. Joe Debortoli is an amazing teacher, keeps the students engaged and makes learning fun. Amazing learning environment to be a part of.
Nearly a month into the course and time is flying by. Everything that's been covered so far has been a pleasure to learn and fine tuning your skills is always a plus. With majority of the days being hands on, you don't wanna leave the shop lol Needles to say the structure of the course is great and the instructor is amazing.
Joe D, my professor has helped me a lot through this course & really supported me through the times where I needed it. This class really helped me excel at using my hands & furthering my career as an electrician.
I'm enrolled in their part time electricians course. This course prepares you fully for seeking an apprenticeship. Training in First Aid, Working at Heights, WHMIS and Lock/Tag out procedures, all will give you a leg up. Plenty of hands on Lab time working with materials and tools you will find on the job site. Lab exercises that are backed by solid theory in class, will make it so you understand why things are done the way they are.
I have been attending STC for 6 weeks now and have enjoyed the course very much, I’ve done plumbing in other colleges and was not nearly as hands on, you learn what you will need in out on the field here. Also randy is a great teacher he will make sure you will not only learn but will enjoy and have a fun time doing it. Only reason four star is lack of eguipment for the plumbing program other than that keep up the good work STC!
Alot of hands on teaching as well as book learning. Teachers are knowlegable and im learning alot.
So far, after 3 weeks, I found Skilled Trades College to be amazing. Everything is organized and the instructors are great!!! Thank you.
Great teachers and staff team ready to help you the whole step of the way! Course is very informative and aids in finding you employment in the construction/electrical sector
A very excellent school to get you prepared to be an apprentice. The best school to get hands on experience and to get you comfortable with assembling abs pipe, copper pipes and much more. Friendly people who treat you like family. I highly recommend this school if you are starting out in the trades.
STC is a great learning experience, small classroom sizes makes for more student teacher interaction. The hands on experience is what makes the difference. The instructors are knowledgable and have extensive expertise in the field. Highly recommended!
Skilled Trades College Electrical program has provided me with not only the hands on material I need to succeed in the field but also the theoretical knowledge needed to excel. I highly recommend STC for anyone who has been thinking or plans to go into the trades.
Great experience, amazing opportunity
I would definitely reccommend it for anyone who is looking to get into trades it was an awesome training program! Everyone was very helpful and super nice. The program gives you tonnes of knowledge before entering the work force
I’m currently enrolled here at STC (Skilled Trades College) Having a great time, while learning!
Amazing instructors with well structured programs. If your wanting to become an electrician. I definitely recommend this college.
This review is very overdue on my part. I went into the plumbing program with absolutely zero knowledge of plumbing, and they without a doubt got me job ready in 12 weeks. The school does an amazing job of mixing hands on work in the shop, where you learn to hook up drainage systems, soldering copper, hanging pipe and much more, as well as teaching all the proper code and textbook knowledge needed for the job, such as the different pipes seen in plumbing as well as their uses and much much more. I have to add that the instructor Frank takes it to that next level of teaching, he doesn't just have all the knowledge of the trade, but he invests himself in every student and prides himself knowing his students have all the right knowledge to succeed. He has become not just my teacher, but mentor and friend as well. Less than a month after graduating i got a job in plumbing and have been working for this company ever since, applying the skills i learned at the college everyday. If you are interested in the plumbing or electrical trade, look no further than the skilled trades college of Canada!
All I can say is what an amazing experience I've received and completed from the pre-apprenticeship plumbing program. I had no experience or knowledge going into plumbing. This incredible teacher, Frank will make sure you get it right every step of the way. Because he wants to make sure when we go out in the real world, we don't have to think twice. We will just know It's by code. So, if anyone is not quite sure or have any doubts, think again. I would recommend to any one to take this program. You will learn a lot! I sure did!
I'm extremely impressed with the Home Renovation program as well as the Electrical program for a couple of reasons: these are jobs run you down for you to work and the experience you get from the courses is real life. There are no surprises when you start working. I would recommend this institution to all. It's a great place, environment is professional, professors are first rate, the institution is properly resourced.
Very clean and organized organization. The plumbing instructor is very knowledgeable with an age of plumbing experience behind him. You are supplied tools, book and everything else you need to succeed.
Highly recommend STC to anyone no matter their experience. The amazing instructors and the hands on experience is what sets this school apart from the rest.
Good school you learn a lot and have lots of fun only wish some of the materials where newer
The plumbing course here is great! The school provides its students with a well balanced learning experience with in-class and in-shop lab lessons. The instructor here, Randy, genuinely cares about the success of his students and is full of knowledge and experience. You'll definitely get your money's worth with him as your instructor. The small class size is a huge plus. Definitely would recommend this place to those looking for a career in the trades!
I learned a lot from Randy Eckler and I would definitely recommend Skilled Trades College of Canada to everyone who is serious about a lifelong career in Trades .
Instructors are professionals in the field and it shows in the lessons. They are patient and very good at explaining processes and procedures in the trade. Highly recommend at least looking into this college.
This school is very professional and a well organized school. I learned so much from my professor joe and he was a great teacher
Only 3 weeks into the plumbing course and learned a lot already. Frank is a great teacher he really know his stuff. The college follows the safety protocols in these special times. Great environment to learn.
This place is great. It allows you to get the in-class math and science that you need and the hands on practice that will set you up perfectly for your apprenticeship. Most colleges have you take a lot of in-class extra courses that have nothing to do with what you want to become, but skilled trades college of Canada will only teach you the courses that you actually need, along with the hands on training, which is really important to know when you go to the workplace.
Just finished my Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship Program here. Was an unbelievable experience! The facility is a great learning platform that offered commercial and residential labs and the knowledge gained from here will prove to be invaluable. I must also give a massive thanks to my instructor, Mario! His level of teaching, explanation, and experience/expertise in the field is clear the moment you enter his class. Thank you Mario and STC for everything I was taught and learned! Highly recommended to anyone.
I am a recent graduate of the Skilled Trades College Electrical Pre-apprenticeship program. I attended the Woodbridge campus and throughly enjoyed my experience there. I had the pleasure of being taught by Mario, all of the teachers at STC were very knowledgeable as they are all master electricians who have been in the field for many of years. In class you get a lot of hands on experience and this is what helped me feel extremely comfortable going into the field with the company I now work for. Employers look for apprentices who are prepared, knowledgeable and ready. This course gives you exactly that and more. I am so happy I attended this school, I love the new career that I have chose!
Great plumbing program! Frank was an amazing teacher and although I struggled due to not being completely fluent in English Frank and the owner Tony really helped to ensure I understood the material we were studying and that I received the extra attention I needed. A few days after I successfully graduated I fould a job with one of the top plumbing companies in Vaughan. Definitely reccomend this program to anyone looking to become a plumber. 5 Stars
This school is a waste of time, cheap tools, uneducated staff and just a dirty place in general, do not recommend going to STC
I completed the Electrician course at the end of the year and I would have to say it surpassed all my expectations. The course material, workload and training really helped me understand the field. Helped a lot having Professor Mario as the instructor. He was very knowledgeable, helpful and motivating and always worked with everyone to make sure each of us were being the best we can be. Overall this course has prepared me very well for the workforce and I can’t wait to get out there at start applying everything I have learned.
This place is run by dishonest, pretentious borderline scammers. Save your 9 grand and go to a real school, unless you want teachers that cuss every sentence and scream at you when asking a question. Administration acts the same way and doesn’t care for student experience, nor displays any regard of customer service.
Its a great place to learn the basics to get you started.
Currently taking Electrical Pre Apprentice and i am loving it. All the Instructor and Staff are very Professional.
I am in the Plumbing course instructed by Randy Eckler. He is thorough and cares about his students success. Very informative.
In my 3rd week of the Plumbing Pre Apprenticeship Program, and it’s absolutely amazing. Working in the shop is so much fun and the theory in the classroom is very informative. Would definitely recommend this school to anyone interested in the trades.
Pre-Apprenticeship Plumbing Provides you with solid foundation to begin your Journey in becoming a Plumber. The Program offers a well balance of Theory and hands on experience. You are in good hands if you have Frank as an Instructor.
I am currently in the pre-apprenticeship electrical program at the Skilled Trades College of Canada and I can honestly say it was the best career move I have ever made. The curriculum is a perfect balance between theory and practical. The staff are very professional and knowledgeable about there trade. Joe P is the best instructor, I have learned so much and I feel like I have the skills to start an Apprenticeship. If you are looking into getting into a trade I would highly recommend this school.
I’m currently enrolled in the electrical pre-apprenticeship program at STC. After applying to many electrical job postings without any responses, I decided to look into pre-apprenticeship programs. They offer full-time (Mon-Fri) or part-time (Sat-Sun) courses and give you the hands on experience, tools, and safety training that will have you more than ready for an apprenticeship. The instructors are very knowledgeable and prepare you for the job site. They have a great balance of in-class learning of electrical theory, reading blueprints, electrical code, etc. and hands-on training. They even help you build your resume. I’m halfway through the course and am loving it. It’s an investment, but well worth it in my opinion.
I recently graduated from STC electrical program. My experience was amazing the program designed in this school is fast based curriculum but I learned a lot beyond my expectations from zero knowledge to fully confident to start a career as an apprentice that is because of STC program design, staff and my instructor Mario, he has abundent knowledge of code book and theory plus lab makes me confident to get good skill and knowledge.I wanna say thank you all STC staff and my instructor Mario.I would highly recommend anyone who want to do any similar trade program.10/10
I took the pre-apprenticeship plumbing course and it has more than exceded my expectations. You will learn and grow so much throughout the course. Randy Eckler is one of the best teachers i've ever had and this is one of the best investments ive ever made.
Great learning environment
Great program full of information; job ready in 12 weeks.
Hello I took the eletrical pre apprenticeship at stc. My instructor was Mario, he was very helpful and very knowledgeable about the electrical field. He mad learning really fun and he loved what he taught. Very passionate person. I would recommend this program or college to anyone that would be interested in the electrical field.
At STC you earn tons of hands on experience with teachers who have lots of real world experience. You will get to learn about many different aspects of your desired trade and give you a great knowledge base yo assist your transition to your career.
After attending this school and realizing how cheap they were it was kind of ridiculous, even though there are all these great reviews, it’s only because we were told in class that if we wrote a good review we’d get a T-shirt... 9000$ for a bag of tools we didn’t even use and still haven’t used...and half the time there wasn’t even enough materials for us to finish our labs. Definitely do not recommend
Instructors are knowledgeable and have years of experience in their fields. Came to this school knowing nothing about my chosen trade but now feel confident with Electrical. Highly recommend
Just started the course amazing so far . Randy is Amazing teacher always willing to help . Highly recommend this plumbing course if your looking for a career.

Joined the plumbing program and it was the best decision I ever made. Plumbing instructor Frank is awesome!!! He makes the program more interesting everyday and always willing to help his students out. You will never find an amazing plumbing instructor like him.
The skilled Trades College of Canada hosts an amazing pre apprenticeship course! The pre apprenticeship plumbing course taught by Randy Eckler has been amazing in all aspects!! Never in my life have I wanted to stay late in class to ask questions and never have I found so much joy learning along side someone! The instructors here at S.T.C. make you feel like your learning and working beside long time friends! I am a recent Electrical Pre-Apprentice graduate of Joe De Bortoli's class and I must say he was nothing short of amazing! He made everything easy to understand and truly cared about all of us and our wellbeing, constantly pushing and inspiring us to be better versions of ourselves each and every day. Teachers don't just teach, they prepare us for the road ahead and I am truly grateful for everything Joe has taught me as it makes me that much more confident going forward. Thanks again for everything Joe!
Going to this school has changed my life dramatically for the better, after going to the school with the skilled I was taught I was able to find a job the same day I graduated and now I am grateful I made the decision to go to skilled trade college.
I graduated from the June Electrical program, and was able to find an apprenticeship with the connections I made at the college 3 weeks prior to the end of my program. The knowledge that you receive from this program is extremely helpful when you're in the field, especially with residential and commercial projects. There is extensive code knowledge, to the point where i am sometimes correcting more senior apprentices on the code, and the wiring practices really springboard you with development and has your journeyman having more trust in you to get the job done. 10/10. I would recommend to anyone that asks me how to get started in a trade.
Chris is a great electrical teacher knows his stuff
Randy Eckler is the best plumber and teacher I’ve seen and he really does care not just about teaching plumbing but also about your well being and anything else you’re dealing with in life. Give that man a raise immediately! I attended skilled trades college for the plumber pre apprenticeship course and randy was my teacher. It was the best 12 weeks I’ve had and it was a life changing experience. Today just 4 months out from this course I know how to rough in with abs drains and PEX in residential applications.
Frank Pera is one of the best instructors I’ve ever had. He tells you exactly what you need to know and engages you during lectures. The workshop area is in-depth and lets you get a real feel for what it’s like on a job site. I would recommend this school to anyone who wants a jumpstart to a career in the trades.
Great school amazing teachers 100% recommended
Currently I am taking a trades course here and I absolutely love it!! The teachers are very professional and thorough with their teaching and I am learning alot about the trades. I would definitely recommend it ???? ???? ????
Highly recommend for individuals with or without electrical background. The program and Instructor outline and review electrical code, prints and theory’s in depth with gradual explination which caters to all learning styles. With focus and good study habits, this program will work for anyone.
I've been in the program for a few weeks in the plumbing program. I am impressed with the professionalism that is displayed in teaching the trades. Cannot recommend the STC programs enough if you are looking for a career change. Update January 12th 2021: I'm completing the course in approximately 4 days. If you interested in joining the trades my previous review still stands.
I’ve been in the electrical program for five weeks now and Ive enjoyed every single day. the environment for learning is excellent the teachers really take time and effort to help the students succeed in there field and also help with the search for finding apprenticeship opportunities
Great place to start a new career or find a trade that is good for you!
Great training for anyone going into the trades, the staff and instructors are very helpful and the material covered is very useful. The plumbing course is especially useful for anyone going into plumbing as it relates directly to the work which you will be doing
STC is a great place to recieve primary exposure to the plumbing trade. The teachers and staff are very knowledgeable, patient and their explanations make it quite simple to interpret. I highly recommend this course to broaden and/or establish plumbing concepts in all scopes of the plumbing field.
STC has been a great experience. I’m doing the electrician pre apprentice program and I’m proud of what I’ve learned so far, since it’s a good mix of theory and practice. I fell that they are giving us the best method of teaching and making it easy to apply to the real world. I highly recommend the college to anyone looking to get into the trades.
Good school, instructors are all very nice and straight forward when it comes to the profession you are in, very educated. Over all a good school to send ur child.
