In these times of times of covid it's been difficult to get material and material and also anybody to do anything a lot of people are booked up I had already contacted hydro when I called captain electric I explained to Diane I already had hydro coming in weeks so I need to do something In the next couple of weeks she was able to get Ryan to come out and give me a quote that afternoon Their less expensive than some of their competitors And because of the nature of the building they had to come up with some creative ideas to install the mast on the building and a whole new service into my new workshop they arrived at 8:00 a.m. were finished by 3pm 3 men with 2 trucks and they worked fast and efficiently Their work was a 110% They went beyond what I expected it's absolutely amazing how well it turned out from the mast to the new service to the plug station installed ,they scheduled hydro for me had everything we needed to complete the job and did an absolutely flawless installation not only does it look good but it'll stay good for years to come .I'm very impressed and would recommend these guys to anybody absolutely fantastic a great experience ,I'm in the trades as well but Not an electrician I can certainly appreciate good workmanship and that's hard to find these days

Needed to have a replacement bathroom exhaust fan installed into an undersized cutout (needed to be enlarged to accommodate the larger fan) but otherwise preexisting setup (ductwork and electrical done). Was charged the $123.00 consult fee to be told a quote would show up later due to app crash issues. Not prepared for the worst I was absolutely floored to hear it would cost $1600.00 to possibly have to climb into the attic (depending on which Panasonic model they sell), cut a larger hole in the drywall, wire up the new fan and flip a switch. I'm still not sure, after the approx. $150 fan is purchased, that the additional $1400 is justified for labour. I've used Captain Electric in the past for electrical purposes but now think certain jobs are meant to be done by general contractors. Sorry but that was the worst $100 spent and still need a fan for my daughter's bathroom.

We were having issues with the circuit breakers for our rec room - they kept tripping every time I tried to turn on a few pieces of audio equipment and it was becoming very frustrating. We had just moved into an older house. Found some surprises that required having some electrical work to be brought up to code. Captain Electric upgraded the fuse panel to 200 amp replacing the old style cartridge fuse panel. Corrected some aluminum receptacles and a switch in the basement. Had the basement stove/oven rewired and separated on the panel as the amperage was incorrect. Appears the stove was using what was once for laundry and was not the proper amperage required for a stove. Replaced external receptacles that were broken or have been affected by weather. Ryan did an excellent job and was both friendly and informative as to what was required and what options were available. The senior discount helped to ease some of the cost. Despite the amount of work, do not feel we were ever overcharged or taken advantage of. Quite happy with the outcome and the service provided. Ryan explained options during the initial inspection and was able to explain the more technical issues in lay man terms. We discovered some questionable wiring connections where improper work had been done by previous home owners. A lot of this was corrected when the fuse panel was upgraded and additional isolation of circuits at the panel. Definitely would recommend Captain Electric and Ryan Barill to anyone. The service was totally professional and took care of all the interactions with the city power company.

I had a laundry list of things for Tim to check out, fix an outlet that hadn't worked since 2005! Install a bathroom light, and install a new backyard light, fix two hall LED lights that flickered constantly and install new wired fire alarms. Turned out that the outlet was a bigger issue than we thought. A breaker in the electrical panel was faulty. This was replaced and everything else was installed. We had Tim return to install new LED lights (since the hall lights were a fixture issue rather than an electrical one). We are super happy with how they look and it's nice to have working lights again! Thanks Tim and thank you Captain Electric!!!

This is long over due, the crew at Captain Electric have been amazing! Kevin has helped us a few times now, they first helped install some new lights when we moved into our house and a short time later they did an amazing job with upgrading our capacity 200amps as well as installing a whole house surge protector. Most recently we had an electric vehicle charger installed by Kevin and Sergio and once again they did a fantastic job. I can't say how much I appreciated what Zac from Captian Electric did for us! The breaker on our panel overheated last night. Though it was after hours, Zac came quickly and was prepared to diagnose and repair the problem. Turned out that the work required the utilities company arrive to shut off power to our home. It took hours for the utilities company to arrive, but Zac waited patiently to ensure that we would have power restored. He went above and beyond and ensured that everything was done properly. 5 STARS.

TL;DR below I completed a renovation of my basement and needed a professional to install 5 pot lights and a dimmer switch. I tried my hand at it and couldn’t figure out the 3-way wiring. The receptionist at Captain Electric was friendly and professional and had two-hour time slot booked for me within a few minutes, including the name of the electrician who would be performing the work. Several days before my scheduled time, they called as a cancellation had come up. Great! I got much-needed work done ahead of schedule. The electrician arrived, with ID and in uniform, assessed what needed to be done, offered a price and to do the work then and there. The work completed was thorough, met my expectations and the electrician was polite, professional and answered all my questions. The only negative element of the experience was the value. The pricing is not transparent and seems incredibly high compared to market for the work completed. Overall, assuming the cost for the work provided isn’t your highest consideration, I would recommend captain electric for your job. TL;DR; professional services, timely work, nice electrician, very pricy and not transparent with the charges. Would recommend if you have the $ for it.

They came in for about a week to do a number of rewiring and repair activities, plus a new main panel, running a new wire out to the garage to create a workshop (plus sub panel), new outdoor lights, and aluminum wire rejuvenation. I am a construction lawyer and I have seen what happens when projects are underbid or the scope of work is not properly understood. These guys know their stuff, they are reasonable in price, they work efficiently, they are courteous and polite, and they try their best to make sure their customers are satisfied. We have used Captain Electric twice, and on both occasions we found the experience very satisfactory. This time we needed a bathroom vent fan replaced. Jonah and his assistant arrived on time, and gave us a quote before starting. In addition, they inspected our electrical breaker panel and outlets through the house. As a result of the inspection, they discovered that the laundry dryer breaker was not up to current code, and recommended and quoted an upgrade. We also accepted a recommendation to install a surge protector breaker. Some other non urgent upgrades were quoted for future consideration. All the work was completed as requested, and we were very pleased with the efficient and professional manner shown by the Captain Electric team. We are happy to recommend them.

They were really friendly and did a great job on a small project in my basement. They are on the expensive side though. For about an hour of work it came out to about 700 dollars (a little over 100 was for a permit). It was more expensive then I thought it would be to rewire a couple lights just due to the amount of time it takes. That doesn't impact my rating because I think most electricians are expensive and it's probably not unique to this one company. They did a great job though and I'm confident it's done right. I would hire them again because they were easy to deal with and quick and efficient.

Although we were booked for a visit three days out they called and fit us in two days prior due to a cancellation. The electrician who arrived was extremely knowledgable and before starting his work showed us his credentials and gave us a corporate folder containing all the information we needed for Captain Electric. He had to find the source of disconnect in the circuit and worked diligently to find it. We talked about replacing our fuse panel to breakers and he gave us a quote before leaving. There was no pressure to move to this very expensive work order. We are very pleased with the level of service from Kevin (very pleasant and courteous) and also Diane who coordinated the visit. Kevin is a very friendly, polite, intelligent and caring young man. He quickly determined the problem with our old bathroom GFCI receptacle and made the necessary changes. He also changed the one in our powder room on the main floor and explained how it was connected to the one in the upstairs bathroom. I asked him to install a dining room chandelier for us and he did so very proficiently and professionally. After the installation he discovered a malfunction problem with the fixture - one of the bulb holders was damaged. He gave us a few suggestions on how to get it fixed and, once we decide what to do, we will ask to have him back to reinstall it. They put booties on their shoes. They cover the floors. With my lovely new condo Team Leader Ryan was able to suggest the best way to install my track lighting so it would look good. He had numerous conversations with the design team and came up with creative solutions to solve problems. He helped determine make sure it looked centred and didn't create glare on my TV. The girls in the front office are constantly in contact about appointments and kept me informed of who is arriving and when. Once the work has been done they call about the home inspection by the Electrical Inspector and everything is arranged in a timely manner. I have recommended Captain Electric to others and they have also been impressed by their experience.
