I have no issue with the work done or the quality of work done. Service techs were professional, polite, and respectful. 2 star rating because of extremely poor communication trying to get my job done. Like so many other services, I had to call, follow up, and chase to get my work done. "We'll call you back tomorrow" calls never came. "We'll follow up and let you know what's going on" calls never came. Just for kicks I didn't call for 18 days while parts were coming... nobody called. The job was eventually finished correctly. They happily charged for their time worked. I wonder how they'd feel about a reverse bill for my time wasted? UPDATE -- March 2016 -- 2 star rating upgraded to 5 Wow! Some people still do business properly out there. They obviously care about their reputation and how they conduct business. This goes a LONG way with me. ET obviously found my comments here and took the time to address them properly. Out of the blue they called me to recognize the issues I had with my case and wanted to make things right. They apologized (which I believe was truly sincere in this case, not a phony baloney response). They also offered a fair reconciliation to cover the mistakes that were made. Because they did the right thing, I will endorse them and continue to do business with them. I guess Mike Holmes isn't the only person in the world trying to do things right. Good on you ET Mechanical.

We had a leak on the copper pipe in our hydronic heating and I called Monday for an appointment. They were able to book me the next day. Brandon came and replaced that 90 degree elbow pipe that was leaking expertly. He was very patient and did an amazing job because it was in a very tight spot and very difficult to get to the problematic area. The other line of the pipe also leaked as soon as the first one got fixed, so Brandon had to do another fix that will resolve both. He definitely did a good job after seeing how good the pipes now look.

I cannot say enough good things about Jamie, Kyle and Connor. Our system (duct heat pump) is less than 3 years old and we ran into a problem of no cold air during the first heat wave. Jamie was incredible to deal with over the phone and even answered my concerned emails after hours. She worked us into a tight schedule and was extremely accommodating. After a quick chat, I trusted Jamie entirely and signed up to be a member. You need to find more people like Jamie because if I had spoken to anyone else in the front office first, I would not have gone with your company and certainly wouldn’t be a member. Jamie is caring, kind and takes a genuine interest, plus goes above and beyond in rectifying the problem. Kyle and Connor are young but wow are they efficient, respectful, knowledgeable and extremely hard working. In October of 2012 we had a very expensive heat pump installed by E T Mechanical. The guys doing the job were excellent. As part of that we also joined their monthly maintenance program, which entitled us to a lesser cost when check-ups, etc were done. We were away in March of 2015, which as everyone knows, was one of our most brutal snowfall months ever! When we got back home, we noticed we couldn't get the house warm enough to be anywhere near comfortable. We live on a hill up from the Grand Lake and the snowstorms had covered one third of the outside unit of the heat pump. It turned out that it had frozen and busted the coil on the heat pump, so we called E.T. Mechanical. When the tech came out he dug his way to the unit (but only after getting my agreement that I would pay double the fee). To get our unit working it had to have the coil replaced. Since the coil was under warranty our part of the bill would be over $1100 for labor. I then called the maker of the unit in Montreal, only to have the technical department tell me that the installer should have followed guidelines that said the unit was to be installed 24 to 36 inches above the average snowline. It was installed 18 inches above the ground, not the average snowline. Subsequently we had a frozen unit. Instead of the installer, E.T. Mechanical taking some responsibility, it insisted that we pay the full labor charge, which we did. On top of that, they are insisting we also pay the double amount of the service call. All of this certainly shows a lack of concern for the customer. In conclusion, I give the company a poor rating for customer care.

We have a split level and the basement had hardly any heat. Furnace fan also ran 24/7 even when it was on AUTO and while the furnace was off. Requested a service call and ET sent a novice technician out who tried his absolute best and successfully directed more heat to the basement however was unable to determine what was wrong with the fan and thermostat. This kid tried his very best and I understand this is how we all learn and I fully appreciate his efforts. I did however had to reach out to ET requesting for a follow-up appointment (free of charge) and they sent their senior tech for natural gas furnaces to investigate. Bruce arrived and after his inspection, he discovered that the wiring of the furnace fan was wired for air conditioning rather than for heat and Bruce fixed the problem. Now the furnace responds to the thermostat as well as the furnace fan. It is money worth spending and ET also has the best system as they text you confirmations, arrival alerts as well as a photo of the technician which gives you a peace of mind. However, Bruce, I agree with you that your office should take a new photo of you as your current one does not do you any justice. Thank you Bruce and ET.

Had issues with our boiler, so we had someone come in to check it. They diagnosed the problem and told me that two things needed replacing. One was immediately necessary, the other could wait. We decided to do it all together and they ordered the parts and serviced the unit. A month later I had a chemical burning smell coming from the unit so I called and they had someone (whose profile said he was a plumber) check it out - it was melting contact wires. Coincidentally, this was the part that was deemed not needing immediate replacement. This very same thing happened when we had the unit serviced a few years ago, except then it was a loose screw. The technician "fixed" it, but now not even two weeks later the smell is back and stronger than before. Very unimpressed with their service inability and to provide "peace of mind" as they declare they will. Issue is still not fixed.

Followed up at the store and they said they will talk to the technician. They replied back with a quote which seems like they wanted to not take the job. "How can I make you smile today"? I would smile if I didn't have to basically harass them to follow up on my repair estimate. I had had my electrician, who does not work for ET Mechanical have a look at my broken HVAC system. He diagnosed a faulty circuit board. I then contacted ET Mechanical to have one of their techs come to confirm this diagnosis. After the tech came, I was told I would be contacted with a quote. I called a few times over a couple weeks and the typical response was that they we still working on it and were looking for parts. In the meantime, I called a local supplier of HVAC parts (identified by ET Mechanical themselves) and the supplier informed me that they could get me the $152.00 circuit board part in 5 - 10 days. This call took all of 5 minutes. I called ET Mechanical back and they gave me a $575.00 quote but refused to break down the pricing even though I requested it a couple of times - it's not their policy. Not their policy to disclose why the are charging what the charge??? They said the unit also needed "a switch" but would, or could not disclose the part number or cost. After I pressed them, they offered to waive their $50.00 "administration fee". Transparency doesn't seem to be their thing and they seem over zealous in recruiting for new memberships. Their membership program appears very attractive on the surface, but with a little digging it seems not much more than a money grab. They don't tell you up front that you have to be a member and pay fees for 6 months before you get your first "free" service. Simply put, I don't trust this company as they don't seem particularly interested in much other than lightening your wallet. Go back to the drawing board, ET Mechanical, forget the cheesy slogans, and just offer honest and reasonably-priced services. Increase your transparency and, be attentive to your clients - if you want to keep them.

Had them here for numerous plumbing, HRV, electrical work, and bathroom fan upgrade. Pleased with the work so far, unfortunately instead of being guaranteed one work day, it took four (and we work from home, so that was disruptive). Unfortunately the plumber didn't install a needed drip-pan and scoffed at the work the hose faucet needed (but its need confirmed from every other pro we've had here) And they unfortunately broke the hatch door for the interior hose access. That said, by and large are happy with their overall work and workers.

The install went very well, the staff was friendly. Where I am not happy is how overboard they are with communication, in all honestly it borders harassment. I received countless emails, text messages and calls from them. Which I found un-necessary and annoying. But what really did me in and went from a 4 star review to a 1 star review was the incessant calling after the installation. I received multiple calls after the installation was done (and paid for) and a couple days ago while I was out doing yard work I received 3 calls in a row (see picture). When I called the number back it was ET mechanical, this time trying to disguise their number as an anonymous #. I had it with them at this point and told them to leave me alone. After that call I received another email from them telling me the reason they were calling was to book an inspection with NB power to make sure their wiring was done correctly!? I asked him why NB power needed to come inspect their work, and also told him we were never told this was going to be part of the process and to expect this. Than I never heard back. I've spoken to other people who have heat pumps about this and none of them had NB power come over afterwards to inspect their work. We did not apply for an energy rebate through NB Power so really they had to reason to come over. I would not recommend using this company, it's not worth the harassment you'll get.

When our water pump needed a UV light, we tried this company on June 12 of this year -- yes, just a few short weeks ago. They didn't have the part we needed so they had to buy it from another local company. The technician didn't wear the booties when he came into my house. I was downstairs with him while he struggled to replace the unit. He removed the ballast (which is a long and fragile light bulb) several times before he could get it to install properly. He didn't have a new filter with him so I had to supply one from our inventory. For this "service", I was charged about $350. A week later, I was surprised to see an alarm appear on the newly serviced unit -- this alarm indicates that a ballast needs to be replaced (a ballast needs to be replaced about every year). I reset the alarm, thinking it hadn't been reset properly. A week later, the alarm sounded again. Again I reset it. In the meantime, the newly installed filter that we supplied was getting very black and dirty -- much sooner than should have happened. A week later the alarm went off for the final time -- indicating that the ballast MUST be changed. I called them back to arrange a time to fix this problem and they indicated that I would likely be charged another $99 fee. I objected but asked them to come out to fix it, as it needed to be done. On the day that they were supposed to arrive, they called to say the part wasn't in yet. I waited a few more days and when I called, I was told the part would be $350 on top of the $99 service call. That's another $450-- a month after the initial problem!!!! I called a different company who sent someone out the next day and charged $213 including a new ballast, replacement filter, service fee, and HST...... We haven't had an alarm go off since it was properly fixed the second time. Guess which company I will go back to .....

While we were happy with the professionalism of the technicians, I feel management has failed them, as well as the administration - this end needs to make drastic improvements in regards to customer service/communication. Every call to the company needs to be followed up with an email and every email with a call, I feel as tho there is no regard for the customers time. On their website the owner speaks about customer service but trying to get a manager to touch base with you....don't even bother, I left two msgs and then because I went into their office they told me twice someone would be in touch, here I am a month later and still nothing, which at this point is for the best. We cancelled our "Comfort Club" membership as well, primarily due to lack off service. At the end going in to see Rosanne was the only way to get a result of any kind, she is also the only one that responded to my e-mails, she is an asset. The general consensus seems to be the company has gotten too big and they've forgotten about the reason they have been able to grow....Customers. Very frustrating as I prefer to support the smaller local businesses, but sometimes a corporation just does it better.

Reception was the weak link in the service. When I first called they asked if I had an account. As I did not, they proceeded to set one up with all the details to include email. I was more interested in conveying my problem and very interested in when they could come. If it wasn’t going to be soon then I don’t need an account! I did like the automatic confirmation. The morning of the appointment I called to pass on (again) the particulars of the job so as the plumber could know what he was getting into and bring the right parts. I was assured they would call the plumber right after speaking with me. They did not as the plumber had to turn around and return to Fredericton as soon as he arrived to get a pump which I said he would need. The plumber himself was very good and the workmanship above standard. The bill was quickly delivered but does not break anything down so as to leave us wondering how the total was arrived at.

ET responded quickly with what seemed to be a good price and the technician was very professional and did a good job for us. We had an issue with the invoice due to either our misunderstanding of the (verbal) quotation) or insufficient explanation by them. We were able to work it out to our mutual satisfaction. I would recommend that ET should provide written quotes for jobs and make sure that the customer is aware of service options such as their "Comfort Club" that could potentially make a large difference in a final invoice.

Service technicians are generally pretty good. Their admin office staff leave a lot to be desired. Unable to keep appointments or inform of cancellations despite having an annual membership. Details: throughout 2 years of membership there wasn't a service call that wasn't cancelled. However, most of the time you only find out about the cancellation when the technicians fail to show up and you call to find they are busy on another job.

Jared installed the $500 cover for our heat pump. If I had known what it was going to look like I would have built my own. Cheap plastic and barely looks like it would protect it. Nothing against Jared or his service, just a very expensive bolted on dinner plate.

I just had a service call on my heat pump completed by Justin B and I was very impressed!! He went through a complete verbal history check on my system to determine if there have been any problems. Did a very thorough check on the complete system and explained each of the diagnostic processes to me. Once the call was completed, Justin provided an overall system condition report to me as well as explaining the value in the Service Club Membership offered by ET Mechanical. We are now sighed up!! ET Mechanical always offers prompt services and have offered great incentive with my troubles for many years. I trust their techs and have the utmost respect for that team. I would rate a 5/5 for the techs. I overheard there is a huge turnaround in techs, due to the unprofessionalism which never occurred in my house. I would recommend them to look up to the leadership instead of looking down, this often fix many issues arising from the lower level. Unfortunately, the main office has lacked in many ways and provide them with a 3/5. I feel awful turning away the technicians due to communication issues. I would recommend the company to be more transparent when providing quotes and to be prompt answering queries from their techs in a timely manner. Quotes are typically estimates and can be lower or higher depending on the circumstance of the cost in material and labor provided for the job. Raising prices on equipment to price match the quote is a disservice to the customer. Being honest, trustworthy, providing details on cost of equipment and the cost of labor would provide a better transparent relationship between the customer and business. I am always willing to pay for the hours put in a job, but never willing to pay double the price of equipment I could have purchased myself for half the cost. On a last note, I hate having to rate the techs, as like I stated earlier, the techs have never been a problem. I would like to rate the leadership decision made that have no relevance over the service provided by technicians.

The install went great, but once issues began they are not professional nor are they able to fix the problem. During the cold months the system comes on although you feel like you are on a propeller plane sitting by the window. Dealt with this all last winter and yet again no response from Et as again we are experiencing the same problem, no response from phone calls or text messages. . As long as you don't have issues they are great but once problem arise, they ghost their customer. I

Chad provided personable and high quality work to our place. He is very curtious and polite. Chad always cleaned up after himself, and is very intuned to the customers needs. He gave a detailed explanation on the fuze panel on what appliances were best to run. Overall Chad is a polite detailed worker and is a definite asset to your company.

I called the office to start the process to get a quote for split heat pump and installation. In making an appointment, he asked for a time when I and my significant partner would be home to go over things with their comfort advisor. I told him I work from home and am here most of the time. That should have been enough. He again asked when my significant partner would be here and when I replied I was a widow, he laughed. I don't find anything funny about that plus I have never considered myself an insignificant partner - archaic and insulting. Will not be using ET.

We had a mini split installed almost 4 years ago. For the first 3 winters we noticed that our house was warm, but we were not seeing the savings that were promised to us. Upon bringing this to company's attention, they sent a service tech down to reassess the size of the unit in relation to the size of the house. Come to find out, the initial salesman had given us a mini split that was too small for our house. It was a 12,000 btu Mitsubishi Slim, top of the line at the time. Without hesitation, they replaced that unit with an 18,000 btu Sharp. It has made a huge difference. We have also had them clean our duct work our house and they did a fantastic job. We are very happy that we chose to go with this company. They are very professional. Would recommend to everyone!!

We had ET in to install a new hot water heater. According one of the technicians, it's work a trained monkey could do; following that he demonstrated that he's not as capable as a trained monkey. Without explaining all of the details, there was an HVAC tech who couldn't find the furnace filter (they were going to install the HW heater in front of the furnace, which would block the filter), and a block 1 plumber who left the plumbing with two leaks. Also, their work order stated 1/2 inch copper plumbing and that the HW heater needed to be moved, but the plumber didn't have any 1/2" fittings on the truck because "we don't normally use them". To leave a great final impression, the two "gentlemen" dragged the hot water heater up our hardwood stairs without using a dolly. The stairs are painted and needed to be refinished when they left. ET's response to the complaints equated to "we'll fix the leaks". We 'suggested' that we not pay the bill for moving the water heater, which ET did agree to.
